Must admit that the number of new bras during pregnancy did add to the overall cost of maternity clothes rather a lot

on the 'very flat before' (dh happy in the knowledge that, even if I lose a lot of weight, still won't get down below a 'G' fitting...)

I guess it really depends on where we live if and when the decision ever needs to be made. For example, if we were in our last village I would have had a bug no problems, as I would go out every day and not need the car... so it would be perfect. But here, there is nothing in the town that I would want, so would have to drive to Waitrose etc - so perhaps the bug is not ideal...

I very nearly got the denim one for Millie; the only reason i didn't was that i would not be able to get it on our buses here. (small for village roads).

That and DH is a tight git and would keep telling me how long he had to work for the £££.... but i would have won him over.

Last night he said he loves it when i'm pg...apparently i'm all round and sensible but in nice ways....Sensible because i don't do anything to risk her and round because i have round boobies and a round tummy - both of which were very flat before!!!

If MIL pays for it... does that allow me to have it, guilt free?

Haha. - I know it will come as a shock... and deep down I am still hankering after the bug. But my friend asked a lot of knowledgeable questions about it... and I did not stand firm as I thought I would - apparently it is fairly heavy.

Boot space is important... and you have to think about ones that come in two parts - "what will you do in town, on your own, when it is raining, you won't want to put the carry cot on the wet floor, so where will you put it whilst putting the frame in the boot?" I hadn't even thought about putting it in the boot

The cost was the biggest to my friend. She is not tight or anything, but she said to spend that much on a pram it would have to be amazing... So. I have promised to not be so set on the bug... But that doesn't mean I won't have one

Sybil - my birth plan was a waterbirth in hospital. Sadly didn't go down that route as waters broke and meconium in them, then dilation just wasn't happening quickly enough (ie started 4am, at 7pm was at 1cm...) did sound good though!

3 wheelers - well, if we ever get round to having dc2 they will be using our Mountain Buggy. Might consider new covers, but probably not. Absolutely fantastic, wouldn't get anything else, although now ds (2.10) not using it. The urban verison has the front wheel that can swivel, but can be fixed if you're going over very rough terrain. Ds in it from about 2 weeks, and never had the carry cot that you can get, or tried to fix in the car seat (based on the recommendations that you shouldn't have them in the car seat for longer than a certain time, didn't leave enough time for the walk once you'd got them into the car and driven where you were going and allowed sufficient time for going back - and MB sufficiently flat not to be a problem.

Also didn't worry about the forward facing bit - did a lot of talking and singing, and could see ds over the top when the hood was down or through the window. From quite early when he was siting up he loved to watch the dog chase her frisbee and was very good at tracking where she was going for quite a long distance.

The swivel wheel made it very manoeuvreable in town, although fairly wide to get between some things.

No suspension - but the wheels are inflated so not too bad, and ds liked the feeling of motion - woke up screaming if I wheeled him on the pavement instead of the verge as it was too flat! MB could go through foot high grass, mud up to the real axle, over tree roots, stones etc. Towards the end I would just (after ensuring that ds strapped in) wheel it down a flight of steps without worrying about keeping the front pushed up so flat - ds loved the bumps!

The only draw back we found was that it normally doesn't fold up very small. However, if you're packing the car for a holiday or something and are prepared to take the wheels off (quite easy), folded flat and was a lot less bulky.

Single handlebar means one hand free (dog lead, or for other people, telephone, toddler's hand etc)

Had 28 week mw appointment today and she was really encouraging a homebirth - and a waterbirth. It did sound lovely, and much less stressful than a hospital birth, ummm, any thoughts?

bebecar - I'm on the fence about 3 wheelers... what is everyone elses view..

firstwheels - does this have the reverse seat position? It doesn't seem to.. mmm..

loola - very impressed... always imagined I'd have a single bar handle though.. are 2 handles better than 1?
