Especially for you
I wanna let you know what I was going through
All the time we were apart
I thought of you
You were in my heart
My love never changed
I still feel the same

Especially for you
I wanna tell you I was feeling that way too
And if dreams were wings, you know
I would have flown to you
To be where you are
No matter how far
And now that I'm next to you

No more dreaming about tomorrow
Forget the loneliness and the sorrow
I've got to say
It's all because of you

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

Especially for you
I wanna tell you, you mean all the world to me
How I'm certain that our love was meant to be
You changed my life
You showed me the way
And now that I'm next to you

I've waited long enough to find you
I wanna put all the hurt behind you
And I wanna bring out all the love inside you, oh

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

You were in my heart
My love never changed
No more dreaming about tomorrow
Forget the loneliness and the sorrow
I've got to say
It's all because of you

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

Hello everyone

Well, my patience paid off. DH mentioned he hadn't booked his sperm analysis appointment last night and asked me to remind him this morning. He now has a date in a couple of weeks' time which means we'll have the results before the referral appointment.

Nomore Sounds like your appointment went really well and so glad you're not being kept waiting long.

Gilly I'm so impressed with your knitting. I've got a cross-stitch sampler I started last year for someoone and haven't finished yet - it's very slow progress.

Hello to everyone else. Am going to be away for the next week or so but would be lovely to see some good news when I get back! Fully expect AF to appear while I'm away.

Apologies for cutting and pasting from IVF thread, but here's how it went yesterday...

Well the appointment yesterday went well - It was a meet and greet/presentation and there were about 15 couples there.

The head of the department gave a presentation about the procedure of IVF and then an embryologist talked us through what she does and showed us lots of slides, which I found fascinating! Then finally the nurse talked us through the admin side of it all and told us about things like the counselling and support group. They said that the next thing we had to do was ring today and they?d give us a date for the initial physical tests (another sperm test for DH and another scan and a trial embryo transfer for me) then we have to have a consultation with both of us there and we?re away. The initial tests are next week for DH and the week after for me and the consultation is after Easter, it's all happeneing so quickly!!

My first impressions of both the clinic and the staff (in person and on the phone) was very positive. I am feeling really good about all of this

MT sorry you're still not yourself - can you go back to docs? Heiffer would be so much better!
Gilly So are you going to start up the knitting again? I have started work on a lace pattern blanket [eek]
hobnobs fingers crossed your DH gets the hint
poppy good luck for the HSG - I haven't had one so can't say it will be alright, but I hope it is. Don't worry too much about your hospital at this stage, it's the HFEA places that I think you really need to do your homework on. We didn't have a 'choice' as such but did get to express a preference for one of two units and we got the one I wanted [yippee]
sybil I can't believe it's June you're due - that's not that long now! How are you feeling?
Ready I know you're not here at the mo but it felt wrong not to say hi to you

Poppy Hope HSG goes well next week - will be away so look forward to hearing about it when I get back. Know what you mean about not being sure what results you want - part of me is hoping we'll find out what the problem is (as long as it's easily solvable!)

Nomore hope your appointment goes well.

Well, have left DH's semen analysis paperwork by the PC (subtle hint!) but will wait until Friday morning when he's off work before nagging gently reminding him to book his appointment. Gilly Hope it doesn't take you DH too long to get round to it - must be difficult when he's away from home so much.

Ready If you're lurking, hope your positivity is coming back. As Gilly said, we miss you

mistlethrush · 27/02/2008 09:17

Gilly - k2togtbl - knit 2 together through back of loop - ie when you normally do a knit stitch you put the needles in through the part of the stitch that is over the front of the needle, and push the needle away from you. For this, instead put your needle in along the other needle and poke it out backwards after you go through 2 stitches (try it and it will be more obvious!) rather than knitting 2 together through the front where you effectively skip over the first and stick your needle in the second but then catch the first as well.

When I had HSG I would have preferred the consultant not to say 'there that wasn't too bad was it' to me afterwards - I don't think anyone should say that unless they've had the procedure done on them! I think that it affects different people differently, but quite a few people suggest having some ibuprofen 30 mins before.

Poppy Ds post dated HSG. Can't remember how long, but not too long.

Thanks will let you know - not sure what results I want. If there is a blockage at least a cause has been found, if not not sure what the next stage is. Will have to wait and see.

mistlethrush · 26/02/2008 14:38

Poppy hope HSG goes well.

poppy75 · 26/02/2008 14:35

Hello everyone -

hobnobs I attended the first clinic appointment on my own as DH was away working. I took all the results with me as it was at a different hospital. They didn't seem to mind at all.

I have just heard from my consultant and she's confirmed all the results are ok, so to go ahead with the HSG (next week). They have booked an appointment for my review with the consultant in the second week of April, alittle bit of wait but I can cope with that. All in all the service has been quite speedy, I was only referred in Jan and will have tests and HSG within 2 months and review in 3 months from referral.

will not be ttc for the next 2 months so feel alot more relaxed and decided to drink and do bad stuff.

Due to HSG can't ttc this month and had yellow fever injection which nurse told me not to ttc for 3 months after it. Does anyone else know how long you should wait??? I think I won't next month and that will give it 10 weeks which should be fine.

Anyway I'm off out now, will be sprinkling dust for BFP's to you all this week

PiggyPenguin · 26/02/2008 13:56

Wow Nomore that is fast! Good luck for your meeting.

I am due on the 15th June, which sounds a lot further away than 16 weeks, given how fast the last 24 have gone!

hobnobs · 26/02/2008 10:34

Hi everyone

Thanks for the advice about hospitals / clincs. In the end, I choose the hospital near DH's work, largely as I work from home so have more flexibility plus it seems to have a slightly better reputation, though none of our local hospitals seem to be that great . (This is just the first stage - if we need to go down the route of assisted conception, they'll refer us on to a fertility clinic and will certainly need to look at the HFEA website then). Need to hurry DH into re-booking his semen analysis - at the moment I'm not sure that he'll have the results before I have the initial appointment which is a bit frustrating.

Mistlethrush Hope you got the quiet weekend you needed and that DS has been behaving himself.

Big wave to everyone else. It's a lovely day here - blue sky and sun (though probably cold outside!) Almost spring!

mistlethrush · 26/02/2008 09:12

Gilly - no follow up booked as yet, so I'm a bit - don't know whether to phone the doctor to see if they did write the letter for me or what.

No, I'm definitely not anaemic, even though I'm vege. One great thing to eat is carob (you can buy it in a flour version from proper wholefood shops so you can add a teaspoon to breakfast cereal, yoghurt or milk or something) - it is a really good way of boosting iron and is very effective, much more effective than pills. I know this as I managed to get my levels up to almost normal in one week rather than the 3 they thought that it would take on the iron pills they gave me after I got discharged after 2nd d&c when I was border line needing a transfusion.

Nomore sounds a good clinic to choose, whatever the website was. I think HEFA would be better (heiffer!) under the circumstances.

nomoremagnolia · 25/02/2008 21:08

oh buer it's HFEA isn't it??

Hobnobs We were both asked to attend the first meeting together. I would choose a clinic where they have good results/reputation rather than by convenience of location, but at the end of the day it's up to you. We chose to go to one nearer to my place of work than DH's as I would be the one going for appointments more often (based on the theory that he would never need to attend without me - it would either be both of us or just me)
Sybil Hello, nice to hear from you. Can't believe you're 24 weeks already I know I could work it out but when are you due?
We're off to the ivf clinic for our initial meeting tomorrow! I rang to say we couldn't make the date they gave us and the very lovely lady offered us a cancellation. So I am totally shocked and trying to think of all the things I want to ask. Any suggestions?

PiggyPenguin · 25/02/2008 07:51

I guess we were all just too busy to post over the weekend! We are re-decorating a couple of bedrooms in preparation for new baby (24 weeks now, how is that possible?) so am losing internet connection for long periods. Will try to keep up but in the meantime, hello everyone, and hope you are all ok.

Oh, and Nomore, congrats with the early appointment, its a shame you have to cancel but at least things are moving.

mistlethrush · 22/02/2008 20:27

Hi all - still not feeling quite normal - more washed out than normal, and certainly with a shorter temper - and ds seems to be particularly good at winding me up. But OK.

Hobnobs - dh came to some of our appointments, but definitely I had to attend more times. Don't know what to advise you - perhaps you could query how long appointments take to come through after you've had the first one.

Hoping for a quiet weekend: could do with some extra rest. What would be really good was if ds sleeps as late over the w/e as he did this morning (7am!!!!). You have no idea how wonderful it is not to get up before then! Bet he won't though, more likely to be 5.45.

Hooray! Poppy I'm glad it's worked out ok.

I have a question for those of you who have been referred to the hospital for further tests. My GP suggested that my DH attend the first appointment with me but I wondered how likely it is that he'll need to attend other appointments. So far, I've had a Day 21 progesterone test which was fine and he's done (well needs to re-do) the semen analysis. Although she mentioned a laporoscopy, I've got no idea what other tests the referral might involve but would imagine that he will be less involved than me.

Am trying to decide between a hospital which is more convenient for DH's work but has 34 day wait for appointments and another one which has only 10 days. Not sure if the 34 days wait is symptomatic of delays in future appointments.

poppy75 · 22/02/2008 16:04

Hello again - have just realised that the units that my test for oestradiol were different to Zita Wests book. So I have used my calculator and thankfully it is 25, which I think is normal!! Hurrah!!! Am much relieved now

Can enjoy weekend without guilt over career and travelling in my 20's. God ttc does make you go through rubbish emotions. If this ever works I will never want a blood test again!!!!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Was cake day at work today so scoffed lots of naughty things, have officially fallen off the healthy wagon!!! It does feel good

poppy75 · 22/02/2008 15:44

Hello guys - have just got results back and am alittle confused. My blood results on day 1 were FSH 6.1, LH 6.3 but my oestradiol was 91. After looking on web this could indicate a low ovarian reserve! Can't seem to get a definitive answer anywhere, but am quite disappointed as there doesn't seem to be any treatment for it.

Does anyone know anything about this? Or have I just left things too late??? Feel quite down about it, wonder if I had my priorities wrong and should have tried before I was 30 ?!?! TTC really is the pits!!!

hobnobs · 22/02/2008 15:16

Well went back to see GP yesterday and she's given me a hospital referral (just need to negotiate my way through the NHS online system of "Choose and Book"). Typically, the hospital which would be most convenient has a longer waiting list though it's around a month which isn't too bad.

DH has been told he has to do his semen analysis again as it leaked He's adamant it was all properly sealed but as he was a bit stressed out by the whole thing, hopefully it will be easier the second time. Says he doesn't expect there to be any problem and that it's just a matter of time for us. Haven't got the heart to tell him that it is often a male problem. Typical male bravado! Will cross that bridge if we need to.

Great news about the appointment Nomore .

Mistlethrush Sorry it's not been a good month. I thought we were doing so well and DH very cooperative until a misunderstanding meant that he thought I'd ovulated a day ealier than I did, so he was off duty. By the time he got home from work late, he was far too knackered for anything. Resulting conversation all a bit stressful. It certainly puts its strain on relationships at times, all this TTC, doesn't it! Poppy Agree with you about all the efforts we have to go to being a bit weird. Suppose there's still a big part of me hoping it will just happen but at least we've agreed that we should press on with further tests etc in the meantime.

Hello to everyone else and have a good weekend.

poppy75 · 21/02/2008 12:15

hello guys - nomore glad your appointment is soon, it just makes you feel more in control when things move on.

MT hope you are feeling back to normal now after you A&E nightmare

I have postponed my HSG for two weeks. This means that I won't be able to ttc this month as it will be on day 19 or something like that. It is wierdly a slight relief at least I won't have the disappointment this month and have booked trip to NYC next month. So I can now really look forward to that and not have 'will I be PRG or not' in my mind. I've also decided to get all my injections upto date as I'll have 6 weeks before I could possibly get pregnant.

It feels quite good that after HSG will just do things because want to without the day count down in my head!!!

Hopefully my FSH results should be around Friday or early next week and can see if what quality eggs I've got! Never in a million years did I ever think I'd have to do all this to have a baby, what a wierd process this ttc is!!

I had a really strange dream that I was 9 months pregnant the other night and going into labour, it was strangly relaxed but a really vivid dream. Woke up quite confused Apparently in dream analysis it means I am going to get a financial bonus!!! Watch this space

Now am off to think of all the fab things I can get in NCY!!
