9DPO and fighting the urge to test

@Hopefulhedgehog I'm only 6dpo so not even thinking about testing yet, AF is due 5th March but I think I'll wait til the 8th and if it hasnt arrived and test then. The wait is so hard, I cant believe it! I've always seen threads about the TWW and now I'm part of it😅

I had negative test today at 11dpo was a Poundland cheapie though so 20miu. Stared at it in every different lighting hoping for a least shadow :( feeling down, so wish I had some early ones to try ..

Welcome @Whuut @BrodieKD 😀 hoping to spread some of our luck to you both!! I can’t tell you enough from experience about how much better it feels to wait it out! I know I only managed 10/11dpo but I got a bloody good line 😂

@glow92 definitely try and stick it out! I think I would’ve got a positive yesterday but I’m pretty sure I wouldve been 9/10dpo!

My tests from today are quite strong I think. (Not in order) I took one at 11am, another at 2.30pm (I was genuinely still in disbelief) then did one with the OH without him knowing I knew! (He knows now of course) 😂 he never got to experience seeing the line with DS as I just presented him with 2 tests 😂 but I couldn’t wait until he was home to test today haha he couldn’t believe it bless him, he was over the moon!

It's lovely to have some other first timers, most of my mates are on kid #2 or 3 by now so feel daft asking questions! Also desperate to NOT get excited yet and start telling everyone 🤦‍♀️

@glow92 we used conceive plus this cycle so maybe it really works!? We also started taking pregnacare his/hers about 4 months before we started TTC which I like to think helped!

@BrodieKD Ah I see. That sounds good, I totally feel like I'm guessing with the sticks! Taking my temp is usually pretty reliable but with a 20mo who still doesnt sleep well, I cant always rely on it.

@Whuut we've been using the Clearblue ovulation kit. It basically digitally tells you when you've got a low chance (circle), higher chance (flashing smile) or peak chance (non flashing smilie) of conception. Once you've got a non flashing smilie then ovulation is generally 12-36 hours away. I found this easier than the little sticks as I felt like I was just guessing last month.

@BrodieKD Totally new to this.. what's CB? I've been using natural cycles as contraception when I got my periods back after DS so I just switched the option from prevent pregnancy to try to conceive! I take temp every morning and did use a couple ovulation test sticks but was a bit confused by them.

We DTD every day for a week leading up to what I was expecting to be ovulation day and then totally wasnt feeling it on the actual day 🤦‍♀️ I'm hoping the fact we did it on the few days leading up is enough! No tips sorry, I'm totally new to this too, weirdly!

Haha I bet! AF is due on 10th so still quite a while.I didn't realise how many things you need to take into consideration when TTC. It's all so new to me. I don't think we DTD on the right days last cycle but used CB this month and went from a circle to smilie on Saturday. What has everyone else been using to track? any tips for a newbie?

Hello. Could I join? I'm on my 2nd cycle TTC for my 1st and 5dpo. I am finding it so difficult to hold off the urge for testing. Another week to wait

Hey could I join? First month TTC, second baby. DS was a total surprise so it feels mad actually planning it this time! I'm only 5dpo so not even thinking of testing yet. Was just going to wait and see if AF arrives or not. Can't talk to anyone irl so thought joining a thread might be nice.

@Sunny1986 I kinda threw myself in at the deep-end using OPK's straight away and started temping and using conceive-plus this cycle - which I thought was good but it's had the total opposite affect anxiety-wise 🤯.
It's so lovely to see things happening for people so quickly though, I really hope I'm not far behind.

Cramps are the only symptom I'm feeling at the moment - bulk bought lots of ovulation and pregnancy tests over Xmas in prep for TTC so just had to test cos they were in the house!

@glow92 number 1 for me too, have no idea what I'm doing! Haha. Any other first timers on this thread?

@Gigi1109 ahhh yes, that was cycle 2 for me I was learning so much!
I have a couple FRERs that I bought right at the start, don't want to waste them until I think I'm onto something 😂.

Last month I only got to 9DPO before AF so I've got short luteal phase worries on my mind a bit.

@Hopefulhedgehog totally get that. The weekend is always easier to take your mind off of it for a bit! AF was due tues/weds for me too so my fingers are crossed for you. Also, the reason I ordered FRERs yesterday was because I was cramping and had more this morning and it’s great that it’s not the norm for you so I’m feeling hopeful for you also!

Oh hey @glow92 I remember you from the desogestrel thread?! I’m sure it was you! Sprinkling lots of luck over your way! I took a test at 7dpo stupidly and got bfn so definitely try and stick it out for a could few days! I tried an IC today after my FRER and the IC was soooooo faint literally a squinter! But the FRERS are pretty solid!

@Sunny1986 I’m feeling the same about AF! With DS I took a test before AF arrived too and my digital said 2-3 weeks but this time around I’ve ovulated super late!

@LittleGwyneth I know how hard it is to not poas! But everything is crossed for you for Monday! Let us know! And let us know if you cave before 🤭 X

I'm 6 or 7dpo and really wanted to hold-out but I think I'm gonna start cheapies from Monday which will be 9 or 10dpo hoping I can catch some of the magic from this lucky thread!
This is cycle 3, #1. I feel like I've had a few symptoms but could just be kidding myself as it's so early.

Huge congrats on your bfp guys!! I'm forcing myself to wait until AF due on Monday (might as well live in hope for the weekend!)
