Condom Failure

Hello Lovelies!

I had sex on my ovulation day - thinking I was clever we used a Durex extra safe. Except the damn thing slipped off!! He had finished inside me before we realised - cue me freaking out moaning at him haha.

I have two children already (5 in total but 3 are angel babies) so I don't have trouble with conception.

I took a morning after pill within 2 hours of the deed but there's 'that' voice in the back of my head - Gulp.

I have had a headache past few days, been sick twice but feel sick most of the time (I get Hypremisis in all my pregnancies so it always starts early), tired, no real breast changes and some noticeable cramps.

Im not due on until the 25/2 but so is it too early to test now?

Arrierttyclock · 25/02/2021 13:03

Aw what a lovely update thanks for that OP. Glad it worked out! Congratulations!xx

Jellyfishgal89 · 25/02/2021 12:21

Just thought I would do a quick update, its so kind you were thinking of me!!

Had 3 more positives now. We have decided to keep it and see what happens. I have PCOS and getting pregnant is easy for me its staying pregnant with my hormones that's hard... Started supplements, folic acid etc.

Thank you for every reply, Im still in a state of shock and want a refund on the MAP haha! But it is what it is, We have a stable home and can afford it so there's every reason for me to stay cooking :) Xxx

Hope you're okay OP xx

Jellyfishgal89 · 22/02/2021 08:37

I've just got to work now (NHS Slave)

I really need to think about this long and hard because We hadn't planned any. To be Frank right now, I'm feeling pretty crap about it. But you're right, I have options. A day at work will help me get some focus 😊

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 22/02/2021 08:22

Wow okay, that's pretty accurate then. You have options at this stage it's very early days. Can you discuss with partner and have some support either way?

TwirpingBird · 22/02/2021 08:17

Oh wow OP! I think I just felt a little sick for you.

Take a breath. Try not to panic. All situations have solutions one way or another

zippityzip · 22/02/2021 08:15

Do you have pics of the test? Is it definitely positive.

Jellyfishgal89 · 22/02/2021 08:13

@treesall

Good luck this morning *@Jellyfishgal89*
Thank you! It's positive and a bit strong than yesterday's...

Gulp. I don't even know how to feel right now, a little in shock I think!

Jellyfishgal89 · 21/02/2021 19:13

Line came up straight away, it seemed so so faint but reading into it, you're right that it would be so faint right now.

This is such a waiting game!

I will do FMU

Thank you so much for your replies, so helpful Xxx

Try with your FMU OP and hopefully that will clear things up because if you're testing early and it's not FMU it might not be strong enough to detect the hormone if that makes sense!

treesall · 21/02/2021 18:54

@Jellyfishgal89 I think it would be expected to be very very faint given your AF isn't due for a free days yet. Did the faint line come up within the window you're meant to view results? Or was it a long time later?

All 5 times I've had positive tests they have started very very faint...

Jellyfishgal89 · 21/02/2021 17:04

Just a little up date. I took a test but its the faintest line ever, so I'm pretty sure it's an evaporation line.

I'll wait a few days to be sure.

Similar thing happened to me when I was single - he left it too long before pulling out and the pesky condom was left inside me. He got it out as soon as we realised, but semen had leaked already. It was on ovulation day as well or one day out. Got the MAP as soon as I could, but had a terrible couple of weeks imagining all sorts of symptoms, but thankfully wasn't expecting in the end. Went back on the pill sharpish after that scare!
I would test ASAP if I were you - you need to put your mind to rest if you'r anything like I was!

Arrierttyclock · 21/02/2021 10:58

Good luck op xx

Jellyfishgal89 · 20/02/2021 22:28

@snowone

DD is 2 next month, conceived as a one hit wonder, on my ovulation day.....morning after pill taken less than 12 hours later.

Best accident that ever happened but I'm afraid to say that the MAP is not very effective after ovulation.

Oh gosh...

Lovely that you have a DD now!

Thank you for all your help. She says sat here after being sick, now having a hot flush.

I will text on Monday with FMU and up date you all. Who am I kidding I got 4 tests and I will be waiting by the front door :D

From Avawoman.con

"A few independent studies have been done to test the sensitivity of various pregnancy test brands. Based on these studies, hCG threshold data for a few common pregnancy test brands are available:
• Clearblue (manual and digital tests): 22 mIU/ml
• e.p.t. (manual and digital tests): 22 mIU/ml
• First Response Early Results: 6.3 mIU/ml"
