@WillowRose1411 I've been off birth control since September 2020, started TTC in January 2021. Have only been using OPK's this month. I had my peak OPK on CD12 so I was guessing when I put ovulation at CD13 xx

LKB89 · 16/03/2021 20:48

@1997Babyx what a heartless man. Absolutely complain about him, a bit on compassion wouldn't go a miss. Sorry you experienced that ❤️

WillowRose1411 · 16/03/2021 20:45

@1997Babyx I’m so sorry you experience this today. You can make a formal complaint to your surgery, it might stop a similar phone call in the future to another poor woman. I’m definitely not an avid complainer but I don’t think this is acceptable and he should have been more sympathetic and helpful. And I’d definitely try again with someone else- preferably female!

@KazMumTo2 I know I’m finding it tricky too! I’ve had a few bfn and waiting for af to arrive tomorrow 😔 feeling completely deflated and gutted as I know we all are! The house is good and keeping me busy/ skinting me out 😂 a week away from ov wow you are well ahead of me now! Huge good luck for this cycle lovely! Check your personal messages xx

@Confused678866 sorry to ask again but how long have you been off of contraception? When do you usually ovulate?

@MisssSarahhh hi! What’s your situation lovely? Xx

Hey everyone I’m new here and TTC #1 I’d love some advice on my situation I’ve just done a post! 🙂

ShonC · 16/03/2021 20:00

@1997Babyx I am so sorry you've experienced such an unsympathetic doctor. What an actual idiot!!! Hope you're okay and if you ever need to speak to a doctor again state that you do not want anything to do with him. I don't get why some people are doctors when they really don't seem to care!

Lots of love to you xx

KazMumTo2 · 16/03/2021 18:25

@WillowRose1411 so how’s the new house??? Hope you’re all settled in!!! I’ve completely lost track on this thread of how every one from last months thread is doing...how u doing with TTC???

I’m about a week away from ovulation AGAIN 🙄 it’s all getting a bit repetitive now 😔 the constant negatives and AF making her wicked appearance!

Lalala1985 · 16/03/2021 17:50

@1997Babyx Fingers crossed for you. I went through an experience years back, where I started fainting, having constant headaches and my periods stopped. I saw every GP in my practice - none of whom were concerned about the lack of periods only the fainting and headaches, I got sent for all sorts of tests a heart scans, blood tests etc whereas I kept telling them there’s something wrong with my hormones, it went on for about 2-3 years like that. It wasn’t until I moved to a new surgery, saw a locum for something unrelated and just told him I was having other problems, and he went ‘you might have PCOS I’ll order a full hormonal blood test’. It wasn’t that, but hyperprolactemia, got medication and a month later my periods were back, and the headaches and fainting gone. Definitely worth getting a second opinion :)

1997Babyx · 16/03/2021 17:29

@Lalala1985 yes I think I'm going to try and do that. It was my first appointment at that surgery as we recently moved.
Definitely don't want another with him. I've looked online and they do have a female doctor too so perhaps will try her as hopefully she would at least be a little more understanding 🙃

Lalala1985 · 16/03/2021 17:18
@Annannanna That’s awful! Are you able to change doctors? Sometimes it can be worth it even to get a second opinion.
Wrong tag!! I meant @1997Babyx

1997Babyx · 16/03/2021 17:05

@1997Babyx

Now it's my turn for a vent!!

I have just had the most horrible conversation with a doctor I have ever had.

I wanted to call as I was feeling a bit rubbish with having another CP just to ask if there is anything they think I can do to try and prevent it in the future - and also just because I wanted it on record that it had happened again if needed for anything in the future

It was a male doctor I have never had before over the phone. I couldn't have been less sympathetic. He spent the whole time telling me that at the early stage the pregnancy is and I quote 'basically nothing' just a blob and 'do you realise how common this is' and he literally said to me I don't understand why you are calling or what you are asking me.

Like sorry I know it is just cells at this stage but I saw a positive test and the heartbreak of the pregnancy not being viable is real!!!!

He didn't even know the term 'chemical pregnancy' he said we generally just say 'early miscarriage' - I was like erm nope in my head but him just saying the word miscarriage meant I just started crying .. then he just said 'why are you so upset' in the most patronising tone I've ever heard

Today has been crap anyway and now I'm absolutely beside myself

Sorry to rant - I'm home alone working from home and I can't call my partner in this state while he is working. Just needed to vent

Really sorry to hear AF has got some of you guys. Truly feel for everyone who is TTC and having difficulties.

It's literally one of the hardest thing ever

Xx

Confused678866 · 16/03/2021 16:22

@LKB89 Not sure what's going on.. I assume its period though but very light at the moment. The only issue I have now is I think I need to see the doctor.. last month and this month (if this is AF) my cycles are 22 days... which obviously isn't great when TTC. Not really the outcome I wanted at all. Me and OH have just had a row too because he knows I'm worried and I think he secretly is too. Xx

ShonC · 16/03/2021 16:19

@Confused678866 thank you for your response❤️. It feels sooo much easier. Positive vibes and baby dust coming your way too xx

LKB89 · 16/03/2021 16:15

@Annannanna aww that must be tough.
Maybe test it out one month of not using OPKS etc, so the stress of it is eased and you're just seeing how it goes...but kinda like strategically know when you're ovulation is around 🤣 is that cruel? Or would he actually want you to go on contraception?

@Confused678866 noooooo why is she such a witch! I'm sorry 😞 here's to an Xmas baby x

Lalala1985 · 16/03/2021 16:13

@Annannanna maybe you can take a break and resume in a few months time?

Confused678866 · 16/03/2021 15:47

Spoke too soon.. think AF has just shown 😭

Annannanna · 16/03/2021 15:40

AF has arrived for me too.

My husband is talking about giving up ttc already, we have only been trying since October. I have been nagging him for years for a second child and don't think it's fair for him to give up so soon 😢
He said try one more time so next cycle may be my last try if I can't convince him, the pressure is on!!

Confused678866 · 16/03/2021 15:21

@LKB89 Yes! I just really haven't got a clue this month at all. On one hand I'm sitting here thinking 'this sounds promising' (been reading waaaaay too many stories about these cramps and leading to BFP and then on the other hand I'm convinced it's AF 👀😂
Thank you!! Xx

LKB89 · 16/03/2021 15:05

Literally like limbo isn't it @Confused678866 bloody awful! Give it a few more days and take another test if the wench hasn't turned up! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you!

Ahhh google is the devil @Lalala1985 I do this to myself a lot, I'm 31 with only 1 ovary (dermoid cyst removal) and although some things are positive, I deem myself as having half the chance 🙈

Try to stay off it, get boinking and stay positive 🥰

Lalala1985 · 16/03/2021 14:54

@LKB89 same for me. AF has arrived, even though only spotting so far. Was kind of glad that I noticed as I was planning to test again. Saved me wasting another test!
Then I stupidly started googling TTC at 35 and obese, which was all doom and gloom and a big mistake. Then I started crying, and got to have a long chat with hubby, who was more supportive than I thought he’d be. Going to try and DTD ( or as he calls it - boink!) every day of the fertile period next month to give us more of a chance.

Confused678866 · 16/03/2021 14:52

I don't have a clue what's going on with me at all!! I'm 10DPO today and have been having AF type cramps (but milder) and backache since Friday (6DPO). I was convinced that over the weekend AF would show early as she did last month but still nothing! I don't know if this is a good sign or not. I just don't usually cramp for this long before AF starts 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did a FRER test yesterday which was BFN but I know that 9DPO is pretty early to test.
I just want to know where I stand 🙃😂 xx

LKB89 · 16/03/2021 14:28

Still no sign of AF other than browny/pink when I wipe after a wee.....
But I 100000% have the cramps, only a matter of time. What's another month hey 😣

Kinda didn't want an Xmas baby, would like to eat my dinner not in labour 😂....but I can't skip a month!

timeisnotaline · 16/03/2021 13:25

A few disappointments I’m sorry baby and cf.
I have no idea what’s going on, CD 35 of what’s usually a 28 day cycle, 5 days late on my period, emphatic negatives on the several tests I’ve taken. I think my cycle has skipped a month? And now I have no idea where I am- should I use some ovulation tests in case that’s next? Or just wait for an eventual period?

Confused678866 · 16/03/2021 13:03

@ShonC Hey, I don't really have any advice or anything but I didn't want to just scroll past and not reply. I'm so sorry that you're feeling like this and I hope you feel better very soon. I'm glad you've reached out on here - it's sometimes so much easier to speak out on places like this where no one knows you and there's certainly no judgement etc. Sending positive vibes your way ❤️ xxx
