@XjustagirlX That's the thing, it's such a headfuck because it could be either outcome. I'm annoyed at my clinic, I know they can't help having a server meltdown in the heatwave but I've been asking for a progesterone test for nearly a week and it hasn't happened, and they haven't followed up with me.

XjustagirlX · 23/07/2022 14:35

@thislittlebird the only symptoms I had were

  • i was a bit more irritable

  • the day before my OTD I got the lower back pain which was really painful

  • i didn’t get my usual spot before AF. I did get a spot but it was a tiny one instead of a painful under the skin one

I honestly thought it would be negative because I didn’t have the normal symptoms people talk about.

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 14:25

@XjustagirlX That's not too long now. did you have any symptoms in the tww? I have tender boobs, but I did last time two, it's not steady or constant, I think the progesterone does it.

Same day as my awful test, if I make it there without a period or migraine!

XjustagirlX · 23/07/2022 14:22

@thislittlebird ive got my scan on 28th where I will find out if it’s in the correct place, how many implanted and hopefully things look ok.

im trying to stay positive but just so desperate to get to the 28th. I don’t have many symptoms except sore boobs and lower back pain.

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 13:53

Is all ok with you still? @XjustagirlX

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 13:53

@XjustagirlX 28th. I’m dreading it tbh. I’m unlikely to test early unless I get a migraine before that which should mean AF is coming, that’s what happened last time.

XjustagirlX · 23/07/2022 13:22

@thislittlebird when is your OTD?

thislittlebird · 23/07/2022 13:17

Yeah ok thanks @XjustagirlX. All ok on the day, just going through it now in the tww.

Feeling very anxious that it hasn’t worked. You’ve been there with failed cycles, you know what it’s like to not know what’s going on and wish you could know.

XjustagirlX · 23/07/2022 09:21

@thislittlebird how did your transfer go?

Lozzlepop · 15/07/2022 12:56

@whatsthecraic91 how are you doing lovely? Is baby here yet?

@thislittlebird got everything crossed for you for transfer day lovely ❤️

thislittlebird · 15/07/2022 11:15

@XjustagirlX I bet! Genuinely so pleased for you. Fingers crossed for the follow up tests. It’s really great to see success for us long time infertility folks.

XjustagirlX · 15/07/2022 09:51

@thislittlebird im 13dp5dt. I’m on progesterone and prednosoline (20mg a day). This is the first month I am taking prednisolone.

ive phoned the clinic but they didn’t answer so just waiting for a call back. I’m so desperate to know if 1 or 2 implanted.

thislittlebird · 15/07/2022 09:12

@XjustagirlX omg I’m so excited for you!!! That’s amazing news!

Remind me what you took again, how many days are yo past transfer etc?

XjustagirlX · 15/07/2022 08:29

BFP!!! Omg i can’t believe it. I then did a weeks test and it says 3+ weeks. I wonder if both have implanted.

@XjustagirlX sounds like a good plan, and Friday isn’t far off so you can definitely wait until OTD. I can’t cope with early testing, stresses me out more. The boobs are a good sign, fingers crossed!

Transfer is booked for Sunday, lovely sweaty day for it! Tempted to take the Monday off.

XjustagirlX · 13/07/2022 11:41

@thislittlebird i was on holiday right after the transfer so that helped pass the time. My OTD is Friday so not long to go now. I decided not to test this cycle before the OTD.

my boobs are really sore, I got a small spot on my face (which is a AF or BFN sign for me). It feels like my period is about to show up. It’s really messing with my head but at the same time I don’t really have an urge to test.

if you ovulated, is the transfer booked in now?

thislittlebird · 11/07/2022 23:30

@XjustagirlX how are you getting on in the tww?

I’d like to try the microbiome and era I think. Will see how this next one goes. I’m debating/researching whether baby aspirin would be useful to me. Might be something to consider after this cycle, if it fails again.

Got my LH surge today (day 13, how about that, very unusual for my body to follow a normal schedule) so will likely be having my transfer early next week.

XjustagirlX · 06/07/2022 07:58

ill keep an eye out for moon face!

ive not had the micro biome test yet. After 3 failed transfers I decided the issues could be either embryo quality or the environment so I would like to consider next:

  • micro biome test

  • ERA test

  • PGA testing

  • karotyping blood tests on me and my husband

i obviously can’t get all these done at the same time due to cost. Plus the nhs don’t let me get them done as it’s a funded cycle. So i will just go to another private clinic to request these tests.

last cycle we had the karotyping tests done and we are just waiting for the results. It will probably come back normal but it is just helping me cross out reasons.

next I will try and do the ERA test but it’s classed as an add on so isn’t allowed. I’m going to book in a call with my clinics CCG secretary who understands the rules better. I am hoping they will let me pay for the ERA test in between cycles 1 and 2 as a private patient.

thislittlebird · 05/07/2022 18:56

@XjustagirlX google prednisolone moon face. There's diets you can have to counteract some of the effects, good luck and I hope you can swerve the moon!

I'm tempted to get a test for microbiome tbh. That's an issue I think I could have, did you have that one?

I have really fine, blonde hair including on my upper lip and apparently (according to google) those don't count. But I have one dark straggler under the belly button like you, or a bit lower, between the belly button and pubic bone, and I have another dark straggler on my right upper arm. Not sure how common these things are????

I'm not sure if the eggs are lower quality, both of us managed to make embryos. Could be luck, could be age in my case, definitely not enough known about PCO.

XjustagirlX · 05/07/2022 18:40

@thislittlebird ye I’m on holiday now. I’ve never taken prednisolone before so I hope I don’t get the fat face thing!

i got a private doctor to do the natural killer cells test and as they were elevated hey prescribed prednisolone 20mg a day.

so I have moustache hair and hair under my bellybutton and I also gave quite hairy arms. I think there is not a lot of i go on pco or any solutions. People tend to focus more on pcos. I’m wondering whether it means that the eggs are just lower quality.

im glad you are all set with your next cycle.

thislittlebird · 05/07/2022 18:33

@Lozzlepop congrats!

@XjustagirlX that sunday thing sounds stressful! Glad to hear you have two embryos on board!

Natural is minus progesterone and natural modified is with progesterone at my clinic, so sounds like I'll be doing the same as you. Did you go to a private doc for the pred? I hate pred, my face is still fat from taking it for a couple of months last spring, but I suspect it's something I might need.

Are you on holiday now?

AF has been and gone, my first scan is Thursday and hopefully I'll be able to get away to Cornwall to see family right after it and come back Sunday. Assuming next scan will be Monday.

I didn't get diagnosed officially, no. Essentially no one seemed very interested because PCOS isn't relevant to IVF in their eyes but one doctor blatantly said "you've got PCOS!" and I don't think I have, another said "borderline". I have none of the symptoms bar excessive follicle numbers and slightly wonky period lengths, so I suspect, like you, if I'm anything I'm PCO but I'm tempted to go see a PCO specialist if I can find one.

When you say you have unwanted hair, can I ask what you have? 😂I have a couple of dark hairs that grow in odd places and I don't know if that's me being over-aware or it's a mild PCO sign. My GP ran some PCOS tests on me and they all came back fine. I think it's a bit of an under-researched grey area, if I'm honest. Like lots of women's things!

@MIW01 I replied to you on the donkey board, but it's really shit, I'm sorry.

XjustagirlX · 05/07/2022 09:20

Also I had an interesting chat with a nurse this cycle. So roughly every second or third cycle i get multiple LH peaks. This causes great confusion at the clinic as they want to book me in for transfer but I know that it’s just a fake peak.

one of the nurses said they see this often in people with pco (not pcos). I went home and researched loads and it makes so much sense for me. I do have more hair in unwanted places but not enough for pcos. I have a high AFC but not enough for pcos. I have multiple LH peaks and suffer really badly with my hormones. And lots more too.

im annoyed really because ages ago I mentioned pcos and the nhs doctor dismissed me but didn’t discuss pco and I didn’t know about it to bring it up. I’ve seen multiple doctors and no one except this nurse has ever mentioned it to me and I have told all doctors about my multiple peak issues.

@thislittlebird from memory did you get diagnosed with pco?

XjustagirlX · 05/07/2022 09:14

@Lozzlepop congrats and the name is lovely!

@MIW01 im so sorry. It’s so unfair. I also get the feeling like the nhs funding isn’t always the best. They give the minimum except let’s just keep trying. but the moment you start paying then there are more tests and treatment offered.
