@miw01 wow that's a good time - I am having an appointment with my surgeon next week and I guess they will tell me the wait time for the lap! Hopefully it does the trick for both of us ❤❤

@xjustagirlx lots to consider! Are you moving to ivf?

MIW01 · 29/04/2021 18:09

@Lottiepink I now find myself in a very similar position, we just had our appointment with the GP specialist and she suggested suspected endometriosis due to my pain and heavy bleeding! So said we can either go straight to IVF or have the Laparoscopy first. As there is only a 2-3 month wait for lap in this area I've decided to go ahead with the Lap 1st and see what happens!

XjustagirlX · 29/04/2021 10:02

@Annny27 yes it was a bfn.

So I’ve had lots of blood tests done recently. And I have the following issues:
I have the coeliac gene. So it’s 40x more likely I will miscarry
I have a gene which means I don’t process folic acid well
I have the right side tube a bit sluggish
My lining is thin
I have high nk cells

Annny27 · 29/04/2021 09:51

Morning :)

@whatsthecraic91 oh that gives me so much hope :D why did they think you had endo?

I mean I conceived before so it can happen I know that 🥰

@miw01 amazing news about FSH :D good luck with your appointment today, let us know how it goes

@lottiepink I would do ivf (icsi)! And then do the treatment for him whilst you are pregnant to make sure all is good for a potential baby number 2

@xjustagirlx did you test bfn last cycle?

whatsthecraic91 · 28/04/2021 18:34

Hey ladies just popped on to read your updates. Hope you're all doing ok!

@Annny27 when I went for my private scan that time they suspected endo and I conceived 2 months later so don't give up hope! Also good in a way that you have something that can be fixed 🤞🏼

@Kiza 16 weeks, amazing!! I didn't feel like I could relax until after my 20 week scan & the whole thing felt surreal until I had my baby in my arms. I'm so happy for you 😊 hope you're feeling good!!

MIW01 · 26/04/2021 11:33

@Lottiepink is there an age limit in your area? Jist speaking from personal experience as despite allowing over 3+ years leeway we still ran out of time in the previous area! So that's my main caution to you. But personally I think of time (and age) are on your side then get the repair done. If you are over age 30 I would just take the fastest option tbh as time and age are unfortunately such critical factors for us!

I forgot to say on here earlier, I had wonderful news last week the my FSH levels came back within range so we are getting an appointment to discuss options with the NHS on Thursday! So happy and relieved when I found out I cried tears of joy! Sorry to repeat myself @Annny27 - I hope the lap brings you some answers

Wow @Kiza 16 weeks seems to have gone so quickly already! hope you are feeling OK in yourself?

@orangeloo hope you are OK and wishing you best of luck ❤

XjustagirlX · 26/04/2021 07:33

@Lottiepink if you go down the ivf route could they do icsi where they will pick out the best sperm to put with the egg? Personally I would just get going with ivf with your free round. You can then do the repair for future babies. This is all assuming they will do icsi. For ages I didn’t want ivf because I wanted to naturally conceive a baby like everyone else but it’s been so long now that I just want a baby however that happens. Plus it’s free nhs and I can always try again naturally for future babies.

Kiza · 24/04/2021 19:40

@Lottiepink I've just done a little reading (which I'm sure you have already) and it would appear that many studies suggest the repair first then TTC naturally, if no joy then IVF. Particularly if he is experiencing Semen difficulties with that diagnosis. It's such a personal decision to make but I think if it was us and we had been TTC for so long and had all that info I'd rather go down the repair route first knowing that the NHS only offers so many rounds of IVF, I think I'd want to max our chances. How long is the wait for the repair?

Lottiepink · 24/04/2021 17:48

@orangeloo so pleased to hear things are moving on for you, tough from what I read earlier, but really hope this works out for you 🤞🏻

@Annny27 yes nice to have something to focus on, in regards of there potentially being something wrong, instead of unexplained! Would have been better to know earlier tho, especially when you have discussed it with them before 🙄
I get painful periods, but don't think anything out of the ordinary. Usually have to alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol for the full first day and then ok, and only seems to last got 3 days now, but sure if that's a bad thing.
Yes defo on it now, maybe you can all help me with what you would do in our circumstance... I'll explain below 😂

@Kiza I'm so sorry I don't even know if I've been on since you found out or not, but such amazing news, so happy for you! Very exciting 🥰

Can I ask for your advice?
Out last app with our consultant was basically them pushing us to go down the path for IVF, however, not sure if you can all remember we found out a few months ago that my DH has a varicocele, and these can affect fertility so much, and his SA results have gone down hill, even though they were bad to start with, but he thinks the varicocele is getting worse, as he now has pain often with it... my DH really wants to have the op to remove it and give us a shot at conceiving naturally, as he 100% thinks this is the reason for low sperm and morphology etc, however, we know the wait times can be hell!

We have spoke and thought about getting a second opinion either at a different hospital or privately and see what they say, I think they will push us for IVF, but then I'm worried that if his sperm is so low what if during IVF there's not enough good quality ones etc, and then as he has the varicocele, we are going to need it removed anyways for our future kids (very presumptuous I know 😂 can't even get pregnant for the first, but planning more 🙈😂)

What do you guys suggest? And so sorry for the essay of the message. Go MIA and come back with a full story for you to read 🙈😂

Happy Saturday all ☀️🥰

Annny27 · 24/04/2021 14:25

@kiza 16 weeks wow!!!! Are you finding out the sex of the baby? It must feel so surreal after years of infertility!!

Tbh I am only seeing it as good at the moment as I was already having infertility so atleast now there is a cause and probable solution 😂😂

OP posts:
Kiza · 24/04/2021 13:57

@Annny27 good and bad news combined, good in that it may give you an answer and possible treatment but bad because I know how tough endo can be and frustrating it wasn't picked up sooner.

@orangeloo I too was constipated after collection and then took laxatives and had terrible tummy ache before horrific diahorrhea and completely freaked out that I'd caused too much pain in my body for the embryo to stick! The mental torture we put ourselves through sometimes!
16 weeks next week and honestly ladies it still feels surreal, as if I won't allow myself to believe it until the babies in my arms.

@Lottiepink it's an awful rollercoaster to be on and it's ok to have moments of hopelessness and grief and allow those emotions to be processed and let out

@XjustagirlX progesterone suppositories definitely play with your mind. Good news about the IVF referral and close to signing the forms, from what I remember once your funding comes through you start pretty much straight away after your next bleed.

@MIW01 sending you so much love, it's completely shit that you've had to go through all that on top of infertility and the system is messed up in so many ways.

Annny27 · 23/04/2021 20:29

Evening :)

With regards to symptoms - yes. I have painful periods but I wouldnt say like crazy painful. But as a teenager and early 20s I would throw up on my period.

And sex and internal exams are painful for me.

But doctors haven't cared about it in the past and said I had vaginismus. So tbh I was relieved when this doctor said she saw something on the scan!

@lottiepink sorry that you are still ttc as well! Deffo pick yourself up and get on to pushing for ivf and next steps 🙏🏻

@orangeloo yes I think it's super positive that your body will be fresh and ready to accept your baby ❤

OP posts:
orangeloo · 23/04/2021 19:59

Hey @Annny27 I didn't feel too bad no. Pleased to give my body a chance to get on an even keel tbh. I was constipated for a week after egg collection- sorry tmi. So that alone made me feel rubbish and think if I'd of had a fresh transfer I just would have worried that it wouldn't work cos my body wasn't in a good place.

Sorry to hear your feeling rubbish- totally with you on the wanting to hide away sometimes. Sometimes the thought of having people ask me about all this or having a baby fills me with dread, anger, sadness and frustration.
Sorry to hear they think you have Endo but if you do it's good they are on to it.
Fx you don't have to wait long.
As @Lottiepink said did I have any symptoms?

Lottiepink · 23/04/2021 12:52

Hello everyone,

Totally got out the way of writing on here, but kept having the occasional nosey.
Hope your are well.

Still ttc and no luck yet 🙄 and not much further forward with any tests either!
Kind of got stuck in a rut and fed up of chasing, but gave my self a shake, and I'm going to be on the ball now and getting pushing 😂

@Annny27 hope you don't have to wait too long 🤞🏻 did you have symptoms of endo?
Sorry if you have already explained this earlier in the thread 🙈

Annny27 · 23/04/2021 10:25

Hello ladies! We are a bit quiet here but thought I would update you anyway! Consultant thinks I have endometriosis as my scan showed that my ovary was stuck to something e.g.adhesed with endometriosis

So going to be put on the waiting list for a laproscopy and hopefully get things sorted 🤞🤞

OP posts:
Annny27 · 17/04/2021 19:47

It comes in waves doesnt it @miw01 some days I am optimistic and others I want to lock myself away in my room and never see anyone again 🙈🙈 when do you get your FSH result back?

@xjustagirlx tbh I feel pregnant every month 😂😂 but my boobs were much bigger when I was on progesterone and I had a bit more heartburn. So you never know:( good luck for testing tomorrow! Xx

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 16/04/2021 17:57

@Annny27 I’ve got my next appointment on 11th May where he will fill in the forms for ivf. He did say there was no wait so hopefully I can get sorted quickly.

I’m currently using the progesterone suppositories. On 13dpo. AF due on Monday. I’m going to do a test on Sunday morning. Progesterone is do confusing. @Annny27 did you feel pregnant when you took it? My bbt is still high, I’m feeling sick in the morning and I don’t yet have my AF spot on my face. I’m worried it’s just the progesterone though.

MIW01 · 16/04/2021 11:40

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down @Anny27 when I had my HyCoSy I was told that sometimes that can 'flush' everything out and help increase chances TTC. So hopefully that's the case fpr you

Welcome @Belano it's quite standard to take up to a year TTC even if you're in perfect health I know that doesn't help matters though. I'm now 3 years in! OPK wise you have cheap pee on a stick types or the digital types which show you smiley faces. For the cheap types I recommend one step or overview which you can get on amazon. And Clear Blue Advanced digital for the smiley faces.

Annny27 · 16/04/2021 10:32

Hello ladies! Long time no speak - lost the thread for a while! I am meh tbh - bit depressed it's been soooo long and fed up. Like most of us I imagine!

Got my hycosy this cycle on cd12 so hopefully wont ovulate untill a few days after that so we atleast get a chance this month!

@orangeloo it sounds very emotionally draining! Do you feel sad that you couldnt do fresh transfer or were you just happy not to have the OHHS risks?

@kiza hope you are doing well!

@miw01 it's so frustrating that they wont even try ivf! Like miracles happen why cant they just try:(

@xjustagirlx when have they said you might start ivf?

OP posts:
Belano · 13/04/2021 16:15

Hey all - can I join?

I’m nearly 32, & my husband and I are TTC our first. It’s been about 6 months and my hopes of things happening quickly have evaporated. It’s surprised me though how all-consuming I’ve found it?! Each month gets divided up into the stages of waiting-trying-hoping-resetting - and all the while wondering if this month could be the one.

Currently waiting for AF to finish up so I can try OPKs for the first time... which will be a whole new learning curve 😅 If anyone has tips for a clueless beginner, I would be eternally grateful!

MIW01 · 13/04/2021 15:55

@XjustagirlX the NHS won't accept a private AMH test unfortunately. I'm getting a FSH test done this Friday. So will wait and see what results come back and will got from there getting all necessary tests done.

Just accepted now that if it doesn't happen naturally then it is most likely we'll have to use donor eggs if we want IVF. Just absolutely devastating.

XjustagirlX · 12/04/2021 18:58

@MIW01 are you able to pay for that one AMH blood test privately? I managed to find a fertility clinic near me where I can select which blood tests I want without paying for a full package.

I completely understand your views on the NHS. I’m the same. I honestly feel like the NHS is a shocking organisation. I think our A&E service is amazing but everything else is terrible. No one knows what’s going on and no one takes any responsibility for their clients.

orangeloo · 12/04/2021 10:46

Thanks @MIW01. I have heard they can fluctuate too so I have everything crossed for you. I am so sorry for what you are going through. I would love to think that if you kicked up enough of a fuss and complaint that u missed the threshold because of them they would make an exception but I know this is wishful thinking too. I really hope something comes through for you. X

@Kiza thank you. I wasn't too bad after egg collection although was in pain and sick the night of. I'm also still rather bloated and getting twinges in my ovaries 10 days post. Hope you and your little on board are doing well X

MIW01 · 12/04/2021 10:07

@orangeloo sorry to hear it's been tough and fingers crossed that it's all worth it!

@XjustagirlX I completely related with the NHS incompetence ... if knew my 1st FSH test came back at 9.2 which, as you say isn't normal! It's just within the threshold for funding, if I'd know it was supposed to be below 8 when I had it done in June 2019 I would never have waited and we would have made the decision to not go ahead with the house renovation and instead use that money for fertility treatment ... I am so, so angry with the NHS. I feel like they've essentially ruined my life! I know that sounds extreme but I am feeling so much grief atm. I am getting another FSH test done on Friday and essentially being given 'a second chance as apparently FSH levels fluctuate a lot anyway, which is also ridiculous! Why not just fund the AMH tests which is what the guidance refers to? It's all absolutely ludicrous!

XjustagirlX · 12/04/2021 09:52

Hi everyone. I’ve been MIA for a bit.

Im trying again this cycle after 2 cycles of stopping TTC. I’m currently taking progesterone. And I’m on 9DPO.

I’ve now had all the infertility tests on the nhs and I’m waiting for my appointment to book into IVF. I was really worried that the wait for funding would take ages so I emailed my CCG to ask how long the wait was. They were very confused and said there is no wait for funding unless you have an unusual case. I’m slightly confused by this as I have read that the wait for funding can hold things up.

Regarding the recurrent miscarriage tests. My original November 2020 appointment has been delayed until This month. However I was told that I wouldnt actually get the results until September 2021 at the earliest. So I made the decision to pay privately for the recurrent miscarriage tests. I made the appointment and a week later I had my blood taken. My consultation is next week where I will be given my results. So basically from booking the private bloods, within 2 weeks I will have answers. Compared to 12 months on the NHS.

I just couldn’t take the incompetence of the NHS any longer. I don’t actually mind the wait and I understand it’s because of COVID. What has annoyed me is that every time I have phoned up they keep saying it’s only 2 months away. Had they have told me the full info and the total wait time earlier I would have paid privately a lot sooner.

@MIW01 I read your FSH story and I panicked. My result was 9.1 last October. I also was told my result was normal as it was less than 10. However from reading online it’s not normal at all. However I had my AMH test done and it was 40 which I believe is good. So a high FSH doesn’t necessarily mean low eggs.
