Hi @Mustkeepgoing2. Thanks so much. Has your fella had a DNA fragmentation test? I would highly recommend that before anything else- certainly before IVF. This goes into lots more detail than a norma semen test.

Yes lots of advice.

  1. Ask loads of questions about why they have chosen that particular protocol and why
  2. Are the clinics open on Sunday and on bank holidays? I’ve read that some clinic ruin timings of cycles due to not being open and just try and fit you in to suit them.
  3. Is downreg necessary and are they only doing it to fit you into a schedule.
  4. Go over the price list very carefully. What happens if you get COVID for example- is the cycle completely cancelled and you lose all money? What do they do if you don’t reposed to stims?
  5. Are you at risk of overstimulation? How will they prevent it.
  6. Ask them based on your AMH, FSH and follicle count, how many eggs they expect to collect per cycle. They should be able to give you an idea.
  7. Ask them their LIVE BIRTH RATE, not their pregnancy rates. There is a big discrepancy on this.

I have to say the needles were the easiest part after you get used to them. And trust me you really do- it’s no big deal after you’ve done a day or too- more weird than anything. The hardest part is the waiting. Everything seems to take so long. The hardest part is after egg collection (no pain) just the psychological pressure of finding out

  1. How many fertilised
  2. How many made it to day 3 and how many cells
  3. How many made it to day 5 blast and their grade
  4. (And if you choose to PGTA test like we did) the two week wait to see how many blasts are chromosomally normal.

Physically I found the process fine, emotionally it’s hard as it seems to take over. You and your fella have to try and have it going on in the background of your lives if possible and not allow it to take over. If I had to do a second round I think I’d be able to approach this better.

Please feel free to Pm me if you wish. 😘

@RichmondLady1981

This is amazing news. Congratulations!
This also gives me hope. I remember you saying you had a low AMH. I also have a low ish AMH.

I had results back which said my AMH was low for my age (34) but my follicle count was normal and that there was no reason I should not fall pregnant naturally, but alas I am still not pregnant.

I am actually due to start IVF after this current cycle (CD 9). Do you have any tips. I wonder if IVF almost kick started your cycle again? I have heard this can happen.

Any IVF tips would be greatly appreciated. I am nervous particularly of the needles xxx

@susiebluebell, welcome back. Regarding your cousin I have no advice but I completely feel you on this. You are not alone in feeling this way, It is just very hard. All my friends that were TTC are now pregnant and not just a little bit but have either had their babies or 20 weeks plus. Some days I find it all unbearable and wonder what I did to deserve this torture but what can you do?

I also agree with how tactless people can be and I don’t always think it’s because they don’t know some people do know but it is almost not on their radar. I wouldn’t wish this all on my worst enemy but equally I don’t think there is enough understanding and compassion with people and It does upset and annoy me that people can be so unsympathetic. Just remember you are not alone even though it can feel so lonely xxx

@RichmondLady1981 oh what lovely news! Sending so many prayers for you!

RichmondLady1981 · 15/04/2021 10:36

Hello lovely lady!!! So nice to hear from you. How are you? I haven’t read the thread in weeks so please forgive me. So I have some news but reluctant to get too excited yet.

Started IVF. Got three good blasts and sent them off for testing. All came back abnormal so none to transfer. Decided to do another cycle to try and find a good egg and fell pregnant naturally whilst waiting to start cycle! I found out the same day that my stim drugs and needles arrived at the house.

Am currently only 5-6 weeks but in total shock!

Have booked early scan in ten days to hopefully see a heartbeat. Pls pray for me! 💕

susiebluebell · 15/04/2021 09:38

Well done @elsimo for marathon DTD! 😄

@Marvellouslymadmum I totally get it 💔

How are my old timers @HappyVibes and @RichmondLady1981? How have things progressed with you?

elsimo · 14/04/2021 20:50

Yip I am lucky with the doc.

I got my peak on Monday- DTD sun, mon & tues. We probably should of tonight but neither of us can be bothered tonight haha

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/04/2021 19:13

@susiebluebell I'm never ready to share either, I feel like if I say things out loud I'll cry!

susiebluebell · 14/04/2021 18:56

@bez91 Sounds similar to what I'm doing - well into final chance for everything at uni, and trying to maintain a daily exercise habit Grin

@Marvellouslymadmum I agree, I think people would be more tactful if they knew. But I'm not always ready to share what my womb has been up to, so I suppose you can't win!

@elsimo Sorry to hear your body's gone to pot Easter Wink but glad you've got the doctor on side! This month I am definitely figuring out what is going on with my ovulation x

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/04/2021 18:54

@elsimo that's really good that they're actually going to monitor you, hoping for something similar from my doc too!

elsimo · 14/04/2021 13:23

My doctor was actually great this morning - agrees my bodies all to pot. 21 day bloods for the next couple months to see if i'm ovulating. Pretty sure I have this month so we shall see xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/04/2021 11:03

@susiebluebell I think we have to a knowledge the sadness and try and look past it, I do feel like people would be more tactful if they knew the struggles so many of us go through though! X

bez91 · 14/04/2021 07:44

@susiebluebell no worries 😆 I'm ok this week, bit disheartened that I don't think I've ovulated and the blood test results but on we go... super busy at work, finishing my dissertation and trying to keep up exercising to distract me which is working so far!

OP posts:
susiebluebell · 14/04/2021 06:39

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum That's exactly how I felt. It's hard not to feel it as a personal failure somehow. Which is silly. Hugs to you too x

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/04/2021 21:41

@susiebluebell I haven't got much advice I'm afraid as I'm the same, my brother and sil fell pregnant last year straight away and I have a lovely little 7 month old niece but then the other day my sister said she thinks they're pregnant again and I just struggled so hard not to burst into tears! Hope you feel better soon. Sending a virtual hug 🫂

susiebluebell · 13/04/2021 19:49

@bez91 God I'm really sorry, I must have seen Page 1 of this thread and thought it was the current page! Really confused myself 😂 Hope I didn't come across argy-bargy about having a new thread, it was all me! 😄 ❤️ How are you this week?

bez91 · 13/04/2021 18:05

@susiebluebell makes sense on the EPO. Sorry about your cousin, no advice really I'm afraid. I think on that it's a process that takes time and you'll come out the other side. No new thread, didn't see much point as this one isn't full?

@elsimo yes I'm not a fan of BBT, 5 days since my peak OPK and still no rise, OPKs are all negative. Great timing for you this month then, it's good when it falls like that?!

@justwant2beamum you sound like
You've got it covered

OP posts:
susiebluebell · 13/04/2021 17:00

Hi @bez91 where is the new thread, please?

Thanks @justwant2beamum I'm glad you know the feeling, although I'm sorry you've experienced it as well! I just wish I could be more generous towards the new babies in my life, but today I am just green!

justwant2beamum · 13/04/2021 14:45

@elsimo I think I'm on similar time frame to you. I got peak OPK Sunday afternoon. DTD Sunday AM, Monday AM, Monday PM and will do tonight too. My apps have ovulation as yesterday and 1dpo today but I don't bbt so can't confirm. Hoping I'm covered. Didn't do much else in fw, ov was a bit early for me this month peak OPK was Cd12. 🤞🏻 for you.

Sorry @susiebluebell it's so hard. A friend had a beautiful baby girl a few days ago and she sent pics etc and I do feel very jealous, I should be 16wks atm and instead im starting TTC again and in tww, just feels so unfair :( 🤞🏻 and baby dust for us all ✨

susiebluebell · 13/04/2021 14:21

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing ok. Some of you might remember I came on at Christmas asking for moral support when my sis in law had her second baby. You guys were amazing Smile

I've just seen the first pics of my cousin's baby, born a few days ago. It's coincided with the due date of my original pregnancy being yesterday, April 12th Sad and it's made me feel very bitter and not able to be genuinely happy for my cousin. And I don't like feeling this way - I know rationally that their new baby is not a reflection on me (it's got nothing to do with me!) but it doesn't stop me feeling green with envy and really bitter and wondering what's wrong with me that I haven't conceived yet. Any tips or words of advice will be greatly appreciated...

Going to try and throw myself into work for the rest of the afternoon...
Easter Envy

elsimo · 13/04/2021 09:11

@bez91 I did BBT for couple months but couldn't make any sense of it so scrapped it.

Well I had the highest peak I have ever had yesterday on opk. DTD last night, this morning and plan to try tonight again. So perfect timings this month and lots of ovulation pain.
Really this is only the second month since my MC I feel like we have been in with a shot.

Also for those with OH who aren't quite so enthusiastic - I pretty much gave up this month and he has made all the effort Wink

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 17:45

@bez91 it's confusing, I have had months like this but maybe just dtd a couple more times in case 😂 then wait and see what happens!

@Florence15 I'm ok now thank you, had my day of sulking and now looking into the next month! I wouldn't be worried about no symptoms, I didn't get any with my two teenagers for the first few weeks I think I was a good 8-10 weeks when the nausea and sickness showed up with my son but was lucky with my daughter and didn't have much at all, all the way through! It's definitely not a bad sign, as you say every pregnancy is different. Definitely chill out and have that oh look after you! Xx
