As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@ChinChilly faint lines on two different tests is a whole nother kettle of fish haha!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm sorry your cycle still hasn't sorted itself out, I can't even imagine how frustrating it must be! I would definitely make an appt to see GP - even just basic blood tests would be good! And maybe try some of the other supplements the girls have recommended on here - I can't be of any use as I only take the bog standard folic and vitD! The ovulation support that @Flowers222 mentions sounds like it could be worth a shot?

Juno231 · 03/03/2021 07:47

@FlyingGiraffe it'll be much of a muchness anyway I'm sure! BTW 36.61 is my head calc so you may wanna check it against a real temp adjuster 🙊

FlyingGiraffe · 03/03/2021 07:31

@Juno231 I waited because I REALLY wanted to get back to sleep for another hour! I'm well annoyed with myself for not taking it at 5.15am now...I'm such a bad sleeper! I'll go with 36.61 anyway thank you!...and see what happens tomorrow! I just hope I sleep through now...!

Juno231 · 03/03/2021 07:24

@FlyingGiraffe sorry I meant to tag you in the above!

Juno231 · 03/03/2021 07:23

@Flowers222 did you take your temp when you woke up at all or did you wait half an hour to do it 😅. I'd take the first temp and temp adjust it for 6.10 but ideally that should have been the 5.15 one. Based on the 5.45 temp I think that might give you something like 36.61?

@chinchilly oooh so you got a line on two different tests??

@TheDaydreamBelievers you know your body will get there, it's just incredibly frustrating how long it's taking! You're clearly super fertile once the egg gets released though.

FlyingGiraffe · 03/03/2021 07:14

Do any charting Queens have any advice please? I woke up super early this morning...my alarm is set for 7am but my body clock has been 6.10am for the last couple of weeks. I woke up at 5.15am this morning! I thought I'd be able to get back to sleep, but no! So I took my temp after basically lying there awake at 5.45am and it was 36.57, then I took it at my usual time of 6.10am and it was 36.77...then I took it again 5 mins later because I thought that was pretty high and it was 36.71! What should I put in FF? I've well confused myself now!

@TheDaydreamBelievers Sorry you're feeling anxious about it all. Like @ChinChilly says, maybe speak to your GP and see if they can help?

@ChinChilly are you testing again this morning or are you leaving it until the weekend?

ChinChilly · 02/03/2021 22:46

@Kay00 they were 2 different tests, yesterday was a rip off FRER i brought a while ago from savers and this mornings was a FRER.

@Flowers222 @Cams50 surely the whole thyroid this has got to be related to the pill? Mine has come down slightly in the last few months the only thing I changed was taking the seven seas TTC tabs which have a tiny bit of vit d in, I’m really hoping mine is vit d related.

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry you’re feeling like that, that is really crap! Maybe try speak to your GP? See it they can run some tests? I’m sure everything is fine and your body is just adjusting post MC! Send you a virtual hug xx

Kay00 · 02/03/2021 22:38

@thedaydreambelievers hang in there, ovulation could still happen within this cycle. My body just randomly decided to give it a go (not confirmed ovulation yet but I got a peak on the OPK at CD39) and im CD40 today too. Its probably just a coincidence but I started taking the Concieve+ prenatal a few days ago. It contains B6 which is meant to be helpful.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 02/03/2021 22:21

I'm starting to really freak about about long cycles. CD40 tomorrow and nothing apart from sheer noise in the temps or OPKs. Worried I'm just not ovulating very much and the pregnancy was a lucky fluke followed by an unlucky loss Sad

@flowers222 ooh, I didn't realise there was a difference! I think I have fertility support but I'll check it out 😳😂

Cams50 · 02/03/2021 21:25

@Flowers222 very odd isn’t it. They should do a study on this thread alone and we’d prove the link 😂 thanks though. That’s really helpful to hear. Hopefully mine will do the same.

Flowers222 · 02/03/2021 20:39

@ChinChilly I really hope that isn't an indent, I can see a shadow of something there!

@Moocher90 good you have a temp rise! As for cramps, sometimes I get these niggly pains just after ovulation that stays until af. Not sure what causes it.

@Kay00 really hope you see a temp rise too! Do you use conceive + fertility support or ovulation support? I have found the ovulation support has really helped me. I can see when I take it ovulation is earlier and my temps are more steady so I would recommend it.

@Cams50 I tried to do some research if high TSH is linked with the pill but seems inconclusive. Weird we all seem to have high TSH though. Mine was around 3.8 but went down to 2.5 by itself the next month. Very odd.

Cams50 · 02/03/2021 19:09

@ChinChilly oh I didn’t know the link between the tsh and vitamin d. I’ve just started vitamin d supplements. There’s a tiny bit in pregnacare so I just got the 2000iu ones as I don’t know what my levels are.

Kay00 · 02/03/2021 18:59

@chinchilly well, it's interesting that you have had two indents... are they two tests from the same batch? Maybe buy a frer from a pharmacy to try this weekend so you know it's from a different batch?

ChinChilly · 02/03/2021 18:18

@Kay00 I’ve got a feeling its an indent. Hoping the C+ is working for you! 🤞🏼

@Cams50 it is really wierd that we’ve pretty much all got/had raised TSH. I haven’t really done anything and mine has lowered abit..I’m wondering if getting my vitamin D levels up will help as there does seem to be a link according to DR Google

Cams50 · 02/03/2021 17:00

@Kay00 ohh I’ve heard good things about conceive plus too! Maybe I’ll try them next week. Hope your temps confirm ovulation over the next few days.

@ChinChilly eek I see something too! I really hope this is it for you. Waiting til the weekend might kill me though lol.

@Sperr @Juno231 and @ChinChilly I also decided to jump on this vitamin d train with everyone else!

So I finally worked up the courage to ask for my blood test numbers and surprise surprise I have raised TSH. Why do we pretty much all have this? It must be linked to the pill surely? 3.61. What does everyone try to do naturally to lower this as they won’t medicate or anything. @Moocher90 I know you’ve got this too. Also yay for your temp rise!

Kay00 · 02/03/2021 15:48

Hi ladies! Talking of Vitamin D: I am seriously missing the weekend sunshine, it was so amazing to just stand with the sun on my face! Hopefully spring is just around the corner!

@ChinChilly I see something on that test too... give it a few more day. Fingers and toes crossed for you!

My OPKs went back down to 25% today after my peak of 100% yesterday, so i'm hoping ovulation happens today. Not sure whether to DTD today as well just in case, but we DTD yesterday, Sun, Sat and Friday!

@Gracie2021 Looks like your covered too! Well done!

Ooh, I just remembered... I keep meaning to mention. So I was midway through this long cycle, which was looking like it was going to be annoulatory again (as i'm sure you all heard me moaning about lol), when I noticed I was running low on my Seven Seas Pre-natal. So I thought I would try Conceive + as I read they can help with body regulation. I started C+ on CD36, and on CD37 my Luteal Hormone surge started (with 75% on my OPK, and I got my peak on CD39... coincidence... maybe??

ChinChilly · 02/03/2021 14:12

@sperr I don’t think taking a big dose is recommended unless you’re actually deficient I think too much can lead to having too much calcium or something like that? I can’t see a one off boost doing too much harm though, just like spending 2 weeks abroad ( ahh holidays 😢) I’m not too sure...i actually felt abit scared taking my mege dose 😂😂

Sperr · 02/03/2021 14:02

@ChinChilly oh god- I might take like 5 of mine then 😂

@LauraT94 I have to remind him to call down because I don’t ovulate until CD 20 really so we’ve got to save energy.

Gracie2021 · 02/03/2021 13:44

@Moocher90 I don't always notice them but some months can feel them really sharply, more a localized stabbing pain than the usual month end general ache.

Moocher90 · 02/03/2021 13:34

Anyone get cramps like AF after ovulation?? I’m getting AF style cramps in the lower abdomen and wasn’t sure if it was normal after ovulation as I don’t think I have ever ovulated before....

LauraT94 · 02/03/2021 13:27

@Juno231 ooh yes I do remember you saying about high FP temps. I think that's why I struggled to see my Ovulation last cycle after my MC as my FP temps were still pretty high! So it's good you caught that positive OPK.

@Sperr haha that's so funny 😂 mine was relieved after I ovulated and said he hopes that's the last TTC sex we have to have for a while haha!

Juno231 · 02/03/2021 13:14

@LauraT94 I'm 2DPO I think so no crosshairs yet. Realised today that I got my peak on CD13 and not CD12 like I thought, I must have been rather confused this weekend. The last to 2 temps are higher than the previous six but not by much, def a slow rise this time. I think it's cause y FP temps were unusually high this cycle, so there's less room for increase perhaps!

ChinChilly · 02/03/2021 13:03

@Sperr I have definitely seen online that people will darker skin tend to have more trouble with vitamin D I think its something to do with the way the skin absorbs it? Well my GP gave me a dose of 40,000 iu and i think the most you can get in the shops is 4000 iu. Reminds me i need to go and collect the rest of them from the pharmacy...why is it they never have to full prescription at the time

Sperr · 02/03/2021 12:54

@Juno231 @ChinChilly funnily I had read black people need more vitamin d because of Covid and I had tried to get some when this first came out last year and it was literally sold out everywhere so I kinda gave up and thought I’ll take my chances 😂. I might take a couple of tablets to super dose up now!

@LauraT94 I asked him if he feels any different and he keeps saying no but he’s been asking for the past 3 days while I’ve been waiting for AF to finish if we can do it 😂
