As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@Kay00 that last photo ShockShockShock. Why would you photograph it for sales without picking up some rubbish?! Also... lotion by the bed always looks suspicious.

@Robyn101 big hugs Its horrible not knowing when ovulation will happen... I really sympathise x My only advice it to detach... keep tracking and keep DTD but don't get your hopes up that 'today is the day' you will ovulate xx

@LauraT94 @Juno231 haha!! Your listing photos actually look really lovely. Here are my listing photos... the house was an absolute mess! It was on the market for ages and had no viewers (surprise surprise) so we were able to get a decent discount on the asking price.

@Robyn101 I feel for you. I feel lucky that my GP agreed to just test what they could even in covid19 times! They werent as good on the interpretation but that was lack of knowledge rather than blowing me off. The reception staff are also awful though!

Robyn101 · 23/02/2021 11:52

@thedaydreambelievers I had a withdrawal bleed around a week after coming off the pill and then CD137 was my first proper period. I called my GP and they fobbed me off in December (told me to wait 6 months and see if AF returned because I’d been on the pill over a decade. Also told me to lose weight ) but then i ovulated naturally and had an AF so I left it with a hope that things might get back to normal

I know I probably need to ring the doctors but i absolutely hate it, the reception are absolute dragons and are like dragons on heat since covid that feel it’s their personal mission to stop anyone talking to an actual doctor 🤦🏻‍♀️

MintGreenLife · 23/02/2021 11:50

@Sperr that worked for us, I just felt happy to be married after all the 'is it on/isn't it' stress. It just made the whole TTC thing feel a bit more straight forward too as we didn't have to worry as much about working around dates etc, which as you know is impossible when you've been trying a while.

We were very lucky in that our venue let us have the ceremony space for free on the day and move the date to the following year, and now have let us move the date again. At the point we got married you could have up to 30 people outdoors, so we had some food and drink in a family members garden afterwards, there was only 15 of us in total but we were lucky as we have small families.

There are ways around it and while it wasn't what we originally planned looking back now I probably wouldn't have changed it xx

Sperr · 23/02/2021 11:41

@MintGreenLife I think I would like to get legally married and then just do the “party another time”.

Can I ask how you did the legal ceremony? Did you use the same venue or did you go to a registry? Did you do anything afterwards? Xx

Found some listing pics of the master bedroom and the kitchen for you to enjoy! The kitchen has an asbestos filled lean to and on the right it weirdly has a tiled wall a bit like in a wet room?

@Emmgrem I agree that it looks like you might be having a wonky cycle post CP. Could be early AF or actual ovulation happening later than expected? Maybe jump OH just in case.

@TheDaydreamBelievers tbh that's such a healthy attitude to have - carry on DTD and nothing else matters really.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/02/2021 10:42

@Robyn101 was 137 your first period off the pill? My first cycle was massive, then my second one more like 50+ days, so hopefully soon for you.

Did you get any testing in the first massive cycle? Id push the GP to do some bloods to see if anything is off (cycle hormones, androgens, thyroid as a minimum). If they do end up doing this, get the actual numbers as they often fob off with "looks okay" when it doesnt really.

@Sperr I had this dilemma too last year and it's so hard to know what the right thing to do is. I guess ultimately you have to decide what the most important thing is to you. Our wedding was meant to be September 2020, and although we did actually get married with a small ceremony then, we moved the 'wedding' to September this year. After trying for 5 months I then had the dilemma of whether to put TTC on hold and prioritise the wedding, or carry on and just work around it if we did get pregnant. I'm now 17 weeks and have just started arranging moving the wedding to 2022 as my due date is 1 month before the 2021 date.

It's so tricky, but I think all you can do is go with your heart and decide if you feel like you could stop TTC. For me I couldn't contemplate the idea of stopping, so I decided I would be more comfortable fitting the wedding in around a baby, but then again we did go ahead and get married, so that probably made me feel different knowing we were already married, and that the new 'wedding' is technically just a party for our friends and family, although still the whole day we originally had planned, just without the legal bits.

It's the most difficult thing trying to plan huge life decisions around the last year or so! xx

I’ve not been keeping up with chat so sorry guys hoping everyone’s going in the right direction.

I’m just getting so jaded with my whole body. I was so relieved in January when I finally got AF on CD137 and thought maybe I’d start falling into a routine again but it just isn’t happening. I’m now on CD45 with no sign of O or anything happening I just feel so rubbish about it all and don’t really know how to proceed

I can’t exactly ‘try’ if my body isn’t even working out how to have a period / ovulate

Chart just because - really testing FF limits on how many days it can show at this point. If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it as I’m at a loss

Sperr · 23/02/2021 10:11

I feel like I’m in a dilemma. We cancelled our wedding in 2020 and had moved it to June 2021. We had just moved it to 2022 however with the news that weddings will probably be allowed to go ahead I feel like maybe we should go for august 2021.

I feel like there is always going to be a subconscious deadline in my mind if we go for 2022 knowing that eventually we have to stop trying just because there wouldn’t be enough time for me to loose weight after giving birth to get back in my dress. Realistically we have about 4/5 more tries this year. And that’s like leaving it to as late as possible.

We could just agree to stop now and I wouldn’t go back on the pill just leave everything as it is and just be “careful”. Or we keep trying for a 5/6 more months when maybe it doesn’t happen and we’ve wasted another year we could have got married.

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 10:10

@Emmgrem your pre-ov temps are quite high (well, by my standards) so it could be that your are just having a normal Estrogen surge, causing your temp to dip, which will be followed by a temp rise again... I hope so!

MissC07 · 23/02/2021 09:59

@Sperr sorry about the temp drop. My cycles are between 40-44 days long with a 14 day LP, I don't have any tips to bring it forward, but just so you don't feel alone x

@Flowers222 oooh your chart looks so good! 🤞

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/02/2021 09:53

@Flowers222 that chart is looking gorgeous! Its the chart we all wish we had.

@Emmgrem your chart looks like you'll end up with an early AF but it could also trend back up!

My chart/FF are currently giving me back dotted lines, then taking them away again day about Grin. So this morning its taken them away again. To be honest DH and I are in a good place and DTD regularly so I think Im just going to keep temping but otherwise not pay too much attention until AF shows. Its looking like another long cycle.

Decorating chat - @LauraT94 that is a kitchen in need of some love! Ours does too but we don't plan on staying here for many more years so we will likely not address it. Next on our schedule is our bathroom, which needs some sanding, repainting and the bath and shower screen replaced. However that cant be done until we can go into someone else's house (so my dad can fit the bath and we can shower at a pals for a couple of days!). The other thing on our list is the spare bedroom (/"baby's room" in our heads! Blush). I think I might grab some paint this weekend to start that.

Emmgrem · 23/02/2021 09:25

Hi ladies. Can any of you chart experts hazard a guess as to what's going on with me this month?

I had that suspected CP last month, but my LP has always been between 13-15 days so what's going on? I had OPKs which were the same colour lines but no dye stealers. I had no EWCM or ovulation pain like usual either so maybe I didn't ovulate or I'm having the shortest LP ever. I woke up sweating though so I was sure my temp would go up again 😓

Sperr · 23/02/2021 09:23

@Flowers222 I’d stopped taking pregnacare because I thought it was that. I am now just taking seven sisters so maybe that will make a difference next cycle.

@Kay00 I have read good things about soy isoflavones. I may try it on a low dose and see what happens.

@LauraT94 this is my first month temping but based on symptoms I think I’ve always had a 14 day LP.

Bring on the grapefruit juice 😂

Juno231 · 23/02/2021 09:07

@LauraT94 wow that kitchen! our master bedroom would match it with lime green being the main accent colour lol (not our choice). My HSG is on Friday - I still need to pick up painkillers for it but did stock up on sanitary pads for the subsequent bleeding and dye leakage... Can't help you much with SHOW I'm afraid, mine only does that on the day of ovulation.

@sperr I'm sorry about the temp drop. That's a really good LP though!

@firsttimemummy321 ah how frustrating if there's product left! What's the GP going to do about it?

LauraT94 · 23/02/2021 08:48

Sorry I'm not keeping up very well! But love the pics of people's houses 😂 this was our kitchen when we moved in and it's not much better now! Roll on June and smashing it all to bits 😈

@Sperr do you normally have such long LP's?

@Flowers222 your chart is looking fab! If you've already peed this morning I'd wait and test tomorrow! Exciting 😁

@FlyingGiraffe hopefully O is soon for you!!

@abi555 I hope you're ok ❤️

@Juno231 how are you doing? Did I see you say you were getting nervous about the HSG? Have you got a date for it now?

My temps have had a few days of steadily dropping and my cervix is now definitely high, soft and open... Does it stay that way for a few days before O? OPKs still negative yesterday but will check today! Hopefully will see some sort of like. I'm really in the mood to DTD recently so fingers crossed won't have trouble getting the fertile window covered 😂

I've also been drinking grapefruit juice every day! So I'm interested to see if I get a flood of EWCM this cycle... Had quite a bit this morning but never sure if it's actually EWCM or 'leftovers' 😬😩😂

@Flowers222 how exciting. Fingers crossed for you!!

@firsttimemummy321 So sorry to hear your body isn't playing ball, i'm so glad you are getting things looked into though x

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 08:36

@sperr so sorry to hear AF might be on her way Sad

I have spent a fair amount of time looking into bringing Ov forward and the general consensus is that you don't want to do that, as a forced/early ovulation may mean the egg is less well developed. However, if your cycles are very irregular or annovulatory (like mine are) then Soy Isoflavones can help (you take them like Clomid for 5 x days at the beginning of the cycle and the idea is that they help trick your body into producing the hormones needed for egg growth and sustainability). However, I took Soy Iso this cycle and i'm on CD33 and have no sign of ovulation yet, so they haven't helped me. I think you have to be careful, so if you do go down the Soy Iso route you should do lots of research x

Flowers222 · 23/02/2021 08:32

@FlyingGiraffe I feel like ovulation isn't going to happen every month, but it does eventually, cd30 this time! It really is frustrating but don't give up hope! Might just be a bit delayed because of your chemical like @Cams50 said.

@Sperr sorry for the temp drop! Hope af stays away and it's just a blip! I don't have much advice on bringing ovulation forward as I am still struggling myself. The only thing I think has helped me a little is taking inositol. My cycles got long again when I stopped taking it so must have done something. I take the conceive plus ovulation support tablets. Supposed to help regulate ovulation and improve egg quality.

@firsttimemummy321 sorry that is happening. Good to get it looked into though to finally find out what is going on!

I'm 10dpo and have the high test temp I've ever had. Trying to decide if I should test today or wait until 12dpo like I planned 🙃😅

firsttimemummy321 · 23/02/2021 08:18

I really need to come on regularly too much to reply to everything that's happened 🙈

Loving pics of your decoration/Reno! We have a house to gut so amazing to see some finished ones :)

@abi555 mine dipped with my first 🤞🏻 as your lines were good with my early losses the lines have always been super faint! How's your temp this morning?

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry to hear about your bfn :(

@FlyingGiraffe it could just happen later and I found the ics only gave me a positive or near to for a few hours so keep dtd just in case as you might miss it on them if it's like mine 🙈

So I'm still getting faint positives (again) got a blood test tomorrow, either I'm having multiple early losses in a row (about every 3 weeks) or the dr is thinking I may have some conception products left either from my first or a pregnancy since. 😩

Sperr · 23/02/2021 08:16

15dpo and massive temp drop today so I’m expecting AF today or tomorrow now. I have such long cycles - 37 days today.

Any tips on how to bring ovulation sooner?

Cams50 · 23/02/2021 08:10

@FlyingGiraffe thanks! I’m sure you’ll ovulate soon. Maybe your cycle is delayed a little this month because of the early MC/CP. I hope you ovulate soon x
