As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

Morning!

It was nice to have a break from the TTC chat.

@Robyn101 thanks, OH is on side so that will probs happen towards the summer! 😆

I’ve got my thyroid/vitamin/hormone tests this morning, I saw somewhere it’s best to fast beforehand so I’m trying to keep myself busy 😂

Temp rise again this morning, my chart looks nothing like the last one and my HR is doing something. It’s still so high though after not coming down post AF

@Sperr I had this breakdown this morning..... my wedding is august this year and I came off pill thinking it would be postponed.... now I don’t think it will but it’s nothing certain so I think I’m just going to go with whatever happens and adjust a dress if I have to. I think I’d kick myself if I waited until September and then it took another year or so from then!

Cams50 · 23/02/2021 21:21

@MissC07 I completely agree! It’s actually lovely not thinking just about ttc!!

Robyn101 · 23/02/2021 20:59

@ChinChilly love that colour for the walls!

Sperr · 23/02/2021 20:38

@Cams50 I think I was just having a pre AF meltdown. This is the second time I’ve cried for the dumbest reason before AF came 😂.

I’m now in bed eating biscuits! Diet starts again after AF 🙃

ChinChilly · 23/02/2021 19:37

@Cams50 @MissC07 Thanks both ☺️ I was exactly the same when we were looking I couldn’t see past the crap, and I can’t hide my facial expressions which is not good when the home owner is showing you around instead of the estate agent 😂

MissC07 · 23/02/2021 19:27

@ChinChilly Love that colour and your hallway!!

@Kay00 You have super powers to be able to see through the mess in the listing photos. I'm awful at 'removing everything in my head and staring at a blank canvas' 🤣

I love all this reno chat! It's a nice distraction from TTC!

Cams50 · 23/02/2021 19:06

Wow so many interesting pre-renovation pics! @Kay00 I think yours are the winners for most shocking 😂

@ChinChilly I love that green colour and industrial style!! Gorgeous. Your hallway picture is lovely too.

@Sperr I had that exact dilemma last year and kind of again this year. Same as @MintGreenLife we got legally married last year which was lovely and are due to have the big wedding this year which now looks like it’ll go ahead which is great except half our guests are meant to be travelling from Ireland so I’m still concerned about travelling and their rate of vaccination etc there. But I’m not going to stop trying. It’s already been so long and difficult so I’m just going to see what happens and rearrange if I need to. So tricky though. I totally understand.

ChinChilly · 23/02/2021 17:19

@Juno231 we were lucky that the last tennants were good and left everything in a good state! I know what you mean about original features! It irritates me that someone has taken out an original fireplace in the living room at som point and replaced it with a big ugly marble thing

@Kay00 this is the current theme throughout the house, it’s nice but difficult to maintain and it’s abit boring, I loved it when we moved in but it’s abit meh! Now

Sperr · 23/02/2021 16:51

@TheDaydreamBelievers oops sorry!! It’s been a day I tell you. I’m ready to get in bed and start again!

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 16:39

@ChinChilly yes... I love that colour!!

@Juno231 Yes, the sanding is an absolute pain! If you have very thick paint on the woodwork you can either replace (but you'll probably need to re-skim/plaster the walls if you do) or use a heat gun/chemicals to remove the paint layers ... neither are fun options! Hopefully its a simple sand and re-paint jobby!

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 16:36

@ChinChilly I love your Victorian house, I'm sure your current decorating is lovely, although its exciting to be doing it up again in the summer... and I love an industrial style.

Juno231 · 23/02/2021 16:14

@ChinChilly ah that explains a lot lol! Tbh it could have been in much worse condition in that case! Also I do think it would be easier to just replace it all - I just have a feeling a fair amount of it could be original so it breaks my heart!

ChinChilly · 23/02/2021 16:06

I’m thinking this colour for the walls when we redecorate 🤔

Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh
ChinChilly · 23/02/2021 16:04

@Juno231 I know 😂 can you tell it was a rental for 10years while relatives lived abroad! With the skirting boards etc it depends on condition really if they’re general ok then a sand down and prime and paint should do it, ours had ahout 10 years of white gloss build up and needed replacing really, the wood work sanding is a right pain in the arse

Juno231 · 23/02/2021 15:56

@ChinChilly haha so much soul and warmth in that place! We've stripped the floral wallpaper off (and the ceiling wallpaper!) but the walls behind it are falling apart now so we can't do anything until they've been sorted.

Not sure what to do with the lime green skirting boards, door, cornicing, architraves etc - sand it all, prime and repaint? I'm such a novice!

@kay00 yes that's the only original fireplace left! All the others have been replaced by horrendous surrounds and gas things. Plan is to try and strip the paint off and see what hides underneath.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/02/2021 15:53

@sperr I think that message was maybe for @MintGreenLife?

Also @MintGreenLife how are you?

This was the front...so much curb appeal 😂😂😂

Sperr · 23/02/2021 15:21

@TheDaydreamBelievers OH really wants baby so at least I know he’s really dedicated. I think i was just having a hormonal morning. You forget that hormones exist after years of being on the pill!

ChinChilly · 23/02/2021 15:20

@LauraT94 wow that lime green kitchen, great space though!

@Juno231 there are no words for that wallpaper

@Kay00 I hate it when people don’t tidy up for estate agent photos! I think I’d be cleaning for a week before hand 😂

All of your listing photos make mine look tame! Window in the first pic is now doors, grey carpet (big mistake) and grey walls (basically looks like something out of a next store or Mrs Hinch’s house 🙄) so looking forward to refreshing it in the summer! Walls will be a dark greeny, earthy grey with more of an industrial feel

@juno231 haha. whilst waiting for our first ever sofa to be delivered (about 10 years ago now) we bought a 3 piece blow up suite Grin. It was all fun and games until they started deflating haha!

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 14:20

@Juno231 cute! I think your kitchen looks lovely Smile lots of cupboard space!

Also... the green in your bedroom is quite funky, could look amazing depending on hoe you decorated the rest of the room... and how brave you are Grin haha. Is that an original fireplace I see hiding in the bedroom?

Juno231 · 23/02/2021 14:12

@kay00 the first two pics look super cute and then that last one omg haha. Gross! Btw the bench + table in my kitchen pic is where I'm sat right now! We asked them to leave them behind as otherwise we'd have had nothing to sit on in the kitchen.

Oh and our sofa was meant to arrive early Jan but the dates keep moving so it's currently arriving mid March. Bear in mind we've been on bean bags since October now!

Kay00 · 23/02/2021 14:00

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes, i mean the estate agent's photographs... they didn't take many of the inside (you can see why lol) but the outside of the house is really very beautiful. Its unique too, the only one in Exeter. We are sloooooowly doing it up... there was a lot of damp work, new electrics, new heating etc. to do before we could start decorating.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/02/2021 13:44

By "you" I mean the estate agent, not you personally haha
