As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@Tillybabs that is really very annoying Sad I can see why its getting you down. Big mental hugs from me xx

@Robyn101 sorry to you too... it's possible that you have ovulated but have had low progesterone... that wouldn't help explain the negative at 16DPO Sad. It would be better if you just haven't ovulated yet... because you could still be in with a chance this cycle Smile

Robyn101 · 25/02/2021 11:46

@Juno231 @Kay00 Thankyou! No I completely agree it’s definitely not clear is it 😅 just carry on doing my thing and hope for a bit more clarity as I carry on

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 11:27

@Kay00 I guess people don’t share it because it’s quite a private thing and if things don’t happen, we don’t want to be asked about it constantly. If people don’t know, they won’t ask questions.

But I have told my two close friends so they know.

Yep I know about the cross contamination and we haven’t done anything since I last ovulated! Yet it’s still here. And I’m due to ovulate any day now although no surge yet. So annoying!

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 11:05

@Robyn101 I have been given cross-hairs by FF in the past, but then my body actually ovulated a week or two later. So I would suspect you haven't ovualted yet too, keep testing and keep DTD just in case!

@Tillybabs sometimes thrush can live on OH's bits, and they give it back to us when we DTD... making it difficult to get rid of. That saying, I have never loked into whether there are creams the man can take to help break the thrush cycle?

I agree with you @tilly I need to have a chat with my friend about my predicament. I wonder if her sense of abandonment and grief is partly because of the surprise... No one ever discusses when the are TTC... it must be unhealthy? Why do we do this to ourselves? Is it because there is shame associated with the struggle? And who's shame... ours or the male partners? Its clearly a complicated subject!

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 10:45

@robyn101 there's a chance you did but tbh it looks anovulatory so far to me - there's isn't really a temp shift that I can see? Where it's given you crosshairs it doesn't follow the rule of thumb of three consecutive temps higher than the previous six - they all seem roughly the same temp as in your FP to me :(

Robyn101 · 25/02/2021 10:42

@laurat94 I’m actually looking forward to our May date now. We’re not the most outgoing people so I think a smaller wedding will help with nerves for sure. Takes pressure off the party for next year. Definitely think you’ll be fine moving it - hopefully we’re returning to some normality

@juno231 that’s good about the offer but yeh the Mat pay is a concern. There’s lots of changes at my work at the minute and if I wasn’t TTC I think I would’ve jumped ship but I’m just waiting everything out so I don’t have to start at zero for Mat pay somewhere else

@laurat94 fingers crossed for a peak!

@tillybabs ahhh sorry to hear that what a pain! Hopefully that clears it up

Right I’m here with my confusing chart again! FF gave me crosshairs earlier in my cycle, then took it away, on the last few days it’s put it back. Did a test because I obviously love POAS and negative. Now I’m just confused whether I did ovulate or not 🤦🏻‍♀️ any chart experts got any help?

@Juno231 it does sound like staying put would be more sensible, it depends if/how unhappy your are in your current job. My plan is to get mat leave out of my company then look elsewhere, saying that where I work is so family friendly I would probs stick around! My job is pretty secure too, I work for a LA and while places want to sell alcohol, breed animals and need taxis...I’ll still be in a job lol

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 10:15

@Juno231 thanks. I think the GP was waiting on my bloods which only came back this week so she was probably going to call me soon I hope!

Thrush is awful and since I’ve been off the pill, I seem more susceptible to it. But the antibiotics have definitely made it worse. I hope this next course of pessary etc works. But I can’t have the oral one as it’s not advisable when trying to conceive.

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 10:00

@Kay00 haha that's the thing, I'm pretty darn unhappy and my team has a flat structure of all senior people so there's no promotion opportunities! But I don't think I'd be particularly happy in the new place either so I'd better wait :)

@Tillybabs ah I'm sorry to hear about the thrush. I keep wondering if mine is lingering as well. End of 2019 I think I ended up on two courses of the prescription drugs for it too so I hate that it keeps coming back. Glad to hear your GP has referred you to a fertility clinic although odd of them not to tell you!

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 09:55

@Juno231 Sounds like staying put is the more sensible option then, especially if you are happy where you are at moment. There will always be the opportunity for promotion in the future!

@TheDaydreamBelievers CD35 here... I thought I felt some AF craps this morning too... but maybe it was just wind Grin haha!

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 09:49

@Kay00 it’s a tough one but I think you should be honest with her so she isn’t surprised. As your friend I’m sure she will understand and support and be happy for you.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here as having thrust issues which have been getting me down. I took a course of antibiotics for something last month which triggered it. I thought I had it under control but we had sex last night and afterwards I felt uncomfortable and bled a little. Argh

So I spoke to my GP and he said my recent swabs and smear test came back fine which is good. My blood tests are all normal, I had those done last week. Because of my age (40) the other GP at the surgery is setting me up for fertility screening. I didn’t know this but am really happy about this.

In the meantime I have to try another course of a pessary and some ointment.

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 09:42

@TheDaydreamBelievers Forgot to comment on the cramps - whyyy do our bodies keep messing with us? Cause god knows if that's AF, ovulation, implantation or just good old gas...

@ChinChilly yeah although I just went away and did the maths. I get 6 months full pay where I am now and it would take 52 months of the new salary to break even on the loss of that! Based on the after tax difference between my current salary and the new one (and excluding pay rises in both locations for ease).

ChinChilly · 25/02/2021 09:27

@Juno231 Definitely find out about yours! And as for Femometer well 🖕🏼 Tough one with the job also 🤔

@LauraT94 I’ve learnt that sometimes you have to stamp your feet, especially with GPs! Your OPKs are looking good, fingers crossed for peak today!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I’ve been so tempted to do the FF premium for weeks now, still not done it 😂

@FlyingGiraffe hopefully, I’ll be very surprised if I haven’t got a vitamin D deficiency! You’ve definitely covered yourself with DTD 🤞🏼

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 09:10

@LauraT94 ah opks are sounding good! Here's to a peak today/tomorrow!

@TheDaydreamBelievers haha love that you took the plunge - I haven't regretted mine and I've loved to be able to look at "charts like mine"

My temps are all over the place this FP. Not sure I've ever had them this high this late 🤷‍♀️.

LauraT94 · 25/02/2021 08:09

@ChinChilly shows it pays off to be your own advocate! Will definitely try grapefruit juice again next cycle if no luck on this one.

@Juno231 how shit of Femometer!! 🖕🏻 Good news on the job offer though. Although worrying about the mat pay! Is that 1 year before getting pregnant or 1 year before leaving for mat leave?

@TheDaydreamBelievers oohh we love a bit of FF premium 😜

Got a 50% on opk with FMU and I usually get my strongest ones any time from 11am-4pm! So fingers crossed for maybe a positive today?! Even if not peak.

Morning all Smile

Thanks for the messages the other day @LauraT94 @Kay00 @ChinChilly @Cams50 @Flowers222 @firsttimemummy321 Cake I think I've gone from having a gradual surge in previous months to a rapid one and I got my peak the next day. Managed to DTD every other day from cd10 and then two days in a row when I got my peak so I feel confident we've covered ourselves as best we can.

@TheDaydreamBelievers Hope that AF turns up soon, if that's what is happening. Your RHR line looks really good though! Hope the confusion is over soon.

@LauraT94 Great news that your opks are creeping up! Sounds like you'll be just fine to cover the fertile days! Wink

@chinchilly Sounds like they're really going to town with the testing now! Fingers crossed that you get some more clarity from them all!

@kay00 Sorry the soy hasn't done the trick yet this month. I'm sure the doctors will be able to help - or at least direct you towards someone who can.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/02/2021 07:07

Have now had 3 proper days of cramps waking me at 6am but no AF yet. C'mon and hurry up, crimson lady!!! Hmm

TheDaydreamBelievers · 24/02/2021 21:50

@Juno231 piss off femometer! I've just bit the bullet and signed up to a year of FF. Means I get to put RHR on my chart!

Kay00 · 24/02/2021 21:33

@Juno231 I hope that gift is a fudging baby!

Juno231 · 24/02/2021 20:56

@chinchilly 5 vials sounds good! That reminds me that I should check up on my four 🙊

I turned down a job in Aug that have come back to me now with a higher offer. I don't think I'd be happy working there but my god do I resent that my main concern is that I wouldn't be entitled to their mat pay until I'd have been there for a year first... I can feel the gender pay gap widening already lol.

Also - femometer you can do one (see pic)

ChinChilly · 24/02/2021 20:18

@LauraT94 it must of been all the moaning I did 😂😂 I tried grapefruit juice this cycle I definitely had more CM and loads of EWCM for about 7-10 days on the run up to Ovulation

LauraT94 · 24/02/2021 20:08

@Juno231 slutty cervix 😂 very true though! My sex drive is through the roof. Think it's back to 'normal', which is nice as it was rock bottom during pregnancy and after the MC!

@Ttcin2021 that's so true! As much as I've waited 2 years to wear my dress already, it'll be just as gorgeous with a few alterations - and what better reason than that I'm growing a gorgeous bump?!

@Kay00 I'm sorry ovulation just doesn't seem to be happening at the mo 😩 as for your friend, I definitely think that @Juno231's idea of talking about 'when' you have a bubba is a good starting point! Doesn't directly tell her you're TTC but also plants the idea! And definitely would be nice to have the option of getting support from her if need be. If she's a true friend then she'll understand and be there for you no matter what ❤️

@Robyn101 ahh of course it was you! I hope we won't live to regret moving from our May date haha 🤦🏼‍♀️ but we'll see! Your wedding will be an amazing day no matter how many people can attend ❤️

@Emmgrem sorry that you had a confusing cycle too!! Onto a fresh cycle, let's hope for more clarity with this one!

@ChinChilly full MOT sounds fab, think I could do with one of them 😂

Has anyone else tried the grapefruit juice trick?! Tmi but I've got so much EWCM! OPKs starting to creep up now so I'm hoping for peak in the next few days!

ChinChilly · 24/02/2021 19:56

@Juno231 @Kay00 check you out with all your exercises I was determined to start exercising this week then I sprained my ankle 😂 @Kay00 I agree with all the others with your friend, you’re such a good friend to be so concerned about how having a baby will make her feel!

@Moocher90 sounds like your heading in the right direction, 6 weeks time will be here before you know it!

As for parents asking about grandkids, we don’t really get asked! My mom kind of guessed we were TTC but she doesn’t mention it and OH mom occasionally says ‘where are my grand babies’ only when she’s drunk though 😂

The nurse took soooo much blood at my tests today, by the 5th tube full she said I’m taking so much because the doctor has asked for a full MOT.....manic day at work I’m ready to hit my bed!

Flowers222 · 24/02/2021 17:16

@Emmgrem I had a chemical in December, so this was my second cycle since. My cycles were already irregular so if the chemical had a impact I haven't been able to tell! Hopefully things will settle again for you next time. I also totally get about the parents being on you about having babies. My MIL keeps saying she is surprised we haven't announced we are pregnant yet and my Nan asks every time I talk to her, she keeps saying how I'm getting older and won't have much time left, I'm 29 so feel like time is on my side at the moment! 🙄

Juno231 · 24/02/2021 15:36

@Emmgrem omg about your BIL and his gf! Yeah my dad has made a lot of comments about how we can't possible have anything better to do during lockdown so why aren't we having babies? Last time I saw OH's dad in between lockdowns he was staring at my tummy (I was wearing a big jumper) to see if I had a bump! Sorry to hear AF made it - does sound like you may have had an anovulatory cycle. Hopefully this next one will be the one!
