Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh

As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@ChinChilly that happened for one of my bloods and was perfect at next bloods. The liver numbers can get thrown by even minor infection so jm sure it's nothing serious!

@LauraT94 maybe you ovulated from the other side last month so less painful? Only thing I can think of!

Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 21:18

FYI amazon have 50 femometer OPKs for £9.99 at the mo if anyone needs to stock up

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 20:48

@mrsmacmc I know what you mean, everywhere I turn someones pregnant and as for those who ‘oh we get pregnant first time’ just fuck off 🤣

@LauraT94 Deffo sounds like definitely ovulated then, yay! I know the dose seems huge! Oh I’ve gotta go for repeat bloods at the end of March aswell as something came up as abnormal on one of my liver tests, she said sometimes it happens and it’s just a blip and not to worry, so I’m making an effort not to google it so I dont end up in a blind panic 🤣

LauraT94 · 26/02/2021 20:29

Happy Friday all ❤️

Had the worst Ovulation pains and cramps this afternoon, was nearly in tears! Was the same side I had my large cyst during my pregnancy so I wonder if that has anything to do with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

But the pain also makes me wonder if maybe my weird last cycle was anovulatory as I didn't get any pain like this!

OPK went up to 147% today but I'm 90% certain I did ovulate this afternoon/evening. But will see what happens with temp and OPKs tomorrow! It's all so confusing haha.

@Juno231 although undignified and painful I'm glad it went well and you're recovering ok!

@ChinChilly 40,000 is mad 🤪 I use an oral spray every day and it's 3,000. I used to get awful depression in winter and this keeps it away!

@Tillybabs I'll definitely be taking the vaccine if offered before I get a BFP :)

@Moocher90 exciting movement with the OPKs!

@mrsmacmc well done for chasing with GP and I can't imagine they'll be dismissive! Definitely stand up for yourself and trust your instincts.

@Flowers222 glad to hear about the chocolate therapy haha ❤️ repeat tonight if necessary!

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 19:06

@ChinChilly socially distanced hug yep! All I keep seeing is bumps, babies and buggies too 🥴🙄 or hearing from folks 'oh we fell so quickly' ❤️

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 17:47

@Juno231 does seem a huge dose, it’s only 1 40k does once a week for the next 7 weeks and then she’s recommended I keep on top of it with a daily supplement so hopefully i should feel different over the next 7 weeks! Ahh good you’re feeling ok after the procedure must sound worse then it was!

@mrsmacmc I feel exactly the same about trying not to fall pregnant for years and I thought as soon as I had unprotected sex I’d get pregnant 😂😂😂oh how wrong was I

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 17:06

@Tillybabs thank you

Yes it was horrible and in hindsight (which is a wonderful thing) I should've asked more questions / been quicker to self advocate - you do feel a tad vulnerable lying there with your foof on display!

Trying not to worry about my age, my BMI puts me just into the obese category which in my head I'm sure they will mention / use since everything defaults where I am to weight loss being used as a cure all eye roll it's not the only thing that can impact on health!
🤨🤨

Looking for answers so hoping initial chat with Dr will help that.

Think I've said this in previous threads, feeling like I spent my 20's making sure I didn't fall pregnant and now it's chasing to be pregnant. ❤️

Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 16:16

@mrsmacmc thanks I think I will go for it then.

That sounds like a horrible experience.

Also don’t worry about your age, I’ve actually found it has helped me. I’m 40 and I’m being fast tracked because of this for fertility screening and that’s with trying for less than a year. But definitely say you have been trying for at least 12 months in your instance.

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 16:03

@ChinChilly thank you ❤️

@Juno231 it wasn't a pleasant experience and makes me wary of having folk rummaging around down there. The gynae who did it wasn't very compassionate and retorted at me 'if you can't cope with this then how on earth do you think you can cope with childbirth' condescending b*tch (much prefer male gynaes!). Hubs and I hadn't been together very long and I remember the car journey home was interesting 😳

@Tillybabs I was thinking about this at the start of the week and I'll be getting the vaccine as DM is CEV and DH is CV ❤️

Juno231 · 26/02/2021 15:44

@mrsmacmc sorry I forgot to say - I don't remember any pain from my colposcopy! or a vinegar wash. I do remember having period like pains for the rest of the day once they'd done the LEEP following the colposcopy.

Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 15:43

@Juno231 that’s good to know thanks!

Juno231 · 26/02/2021 15:42

@Tillybabs I'm on another bus on here and several ladies have had their vaccines and some had their bfps after too. I think the advice is that it's fine to have but if you get pregnant you just have to hold off on having the second jab.

@ChinChilly wowee 40k! 4k is the strongest they recommend if you don't have any massive deficiencies so 40 sounds nuts! I'm intrigued to hear if you feel any different once you start taking them! Ha honestly the procedures today were fine, I feel fully recovered tbh - with the exception of some nausea from the antibiotics!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 15:10

@Tillybabs its because the daft site is trying to take the ) as the end of the link! So this one here is correct: www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2021-01-12-covid-19-vaccine-info-sheet.pdf

OP posts:
Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 15:02

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for that. The link you posted doesn’t seem to work but it’s ok I will look it up.

I’m 40 and have had my text already this week! So debating on whether to have it yet or not.

@Juno231that all sounds positive so far.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 14:06

Also @Tillybabs The latest advice from The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) states: ‘Women who are trying to conceive do not need to avoid pregnancy after vaccination.’

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 14:04

@Tillybabs I originally wasn't going to but 1) the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Royal College of Midwives both changed their view to "probably fine if trying to conceive" (www.rcog.org.uk/en/news/RCOG-and-RCM-respond-to-misinformation-around-Covid-19-vaccine-and-fertility/ and useful clear fact sheet here www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2021-01-12-covid-19-vaccine-info-sheet.pdf) 2) we are likely going to have to take a TTC break anyways for testing and 3) I'm a patient facing healthcare worker.

So, I have now emailed my work asking to discuss it with occ health.

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 14:01

@Juno231 glad you said that as I don’t know what any of them mean 😂 I just picked my Vit D prescription up they’re 40,000 IU, seems like loads!

Your procedure sounds horrendous but your description did make me giggle!

@mrsmacmc nice to hear from you!! Good you’re getting the ball rolling with your GP!

@Tillybabs I haven’t really thought about it, I’ll be so far down the list, I’d like to say I’d have it.

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 13:39

@Juno231 thanks that's a good shout. I'm hoping because I'm an 'old bird' (35) they won't dismiss me either. I've got lots of data on my tracker which I hope they'll be able to use. I think I've got a short luteal phase as I'm hovering around 8-10 days. Your procedure this morning sounds toe curling! I remember I had to go for a colposcopy and the vinegar 'wash' was horrendous! Grateful to be working remotely just now as I would be off if commuting to/from office - the pain is horrendous:(

I'm hoping by chatting to GP it'll get things moving and we'll be able to maybe use the private health insurance too as don't know how long the waiting times will be.

Hope you are able to relax this afternoon and the weekend. Everything crossed for you. ❤️

Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 13:34

Hi ladies

Are any of you having the Covid vaccine? I know pregnant woman are not being given it. I assume that applies to women trying to conceive too?

Juno231 · 26/02/2021 12:52

@mrsmacmc def say cycle 12! What's a month's difference really and you don't wanna risk them dismissing you. Lovely to hear from you again though

Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 11:55

@ChinChilly and @TheDaydreamBelievers I get excited when they do this as I think it’s literally borderline positive it gave me 55% in pre mom app but then feel it’s only one part of the puzzle! Get excited about the thought of ovulation then the body goes nope!! Then no temp rise and then onto a new cycle 😡 I’m CD13 so I’m still early and it’s never peaked like this so early before

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 11:44

@Moocher90 that definitely looks like its getting there! I start to get excited when they look like that!

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 11:38

Hi ladies sorry been hiding under a rock. I've finally plucked up the courage to make a video appt with my GP as things don't feel 'right' since my mother of all AF in November (thought I better give it a few months monitoring in case it was a blip). Currently CD4 of cycle 11. Hoping they don't dismiss me.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 11:38

@Moocher90 that is dark! Almost a positive!
