Hi everyone, just looking to see if anyone is just starting the next cycle and want to journey along together? We are TTC baby no.1 and this will be the 5th month of trying but 4th of actively using OPKs etc. After 2 months of being convinced we'd got pregnant and then AF arriving both times I'm getting a bit disheartened (and I am more than aware that it's really early days compared to most but it's just how it feels to me - can't seem to shake off the "something must be wrong feeling" even though you know it's probably fine) anyone trying anything new or different this month? Sending baby dust vibes to all!

We are going to do SMEP this month too but that’s all that’s different will still use conceive plus but been using that for a couple of months already.

hels301990 · 15/02/2021 18:55

Yeah we aiming for a sort of SMEP but days will be shifted by one due to shifts 🙄 so aiming for DTD on CD9, 11 and 13 then if I get my peak OPK when I'm expecting it will DTD 15,16,17 and 19 ... that has got to do it surely?! I've also bought both conceive plus internal lube - got 5 mini tubes of that plus the conceive plus external lube. Ive got a ferti lily that I might use too - have used it before with no success though. I've been taking Seven Seas trying for a baby tablets plus my folate from the docs, vitamin E and I've just had my B12 injection. Now I just need that elusive good luck!!

@hels301990

Anyone doing anything different at all this month?
Same as usual here. SMEP plus preseed. It's "worked" twice so far so fingers crossed for third time lucky ending in a rainbow baby.

I'd absolutely recommend SMEP to anyone tbh, it takes the spontaneous aspect out of sex but you don't get stressed about having missed the window. Well, no, you do, but less so 😂

@Dominican20 yeah mine has normally been 16 or 17 with a 28-30 day cycle.

@hels301990 I feel the same. Don't like it feeling like a chore at times!!

Fingers crossed ladies!

Dyinghouseplant · 15/02/2021 16:14
@Dyinghouseplant why do you test so early? Are you normally early or a short cycle? Or am I testing too late? The last 3 ovulation days for me were cd16, 16 and 17 (2 day longer cycle than usual)
Just in case I miss it basically. I have 26-27 day cycles but 2 months ago was only 24.

hels301990 · 15/02/2021 16:07

Yeah I know the chance of infertility are low but I'm a bit like we are literally doing everything right and it's still not happening 😬 really hope this is our month 😔🤞

OP posts:
Dominican20 · 15/02/2021 15:57

@hels301990 I know the percentages are still low but in my head i know we dtd on the right days so why is it not happening!

@Loops01 I am using the same as Hels301990 the advanced test usually identifies 4 high days and then peak. My ovulation day is usually CD12 but last month was CD16 🤔

Loops01 · 15/02/2021 15:53

Sorry that was me ^^ forgot to put name in!

[AUTO]fq9wckkxx7jba · 15/02/2021 15:52

@hels301990 @katiemumma20 thank you both, might start earlier then! I was testing later as I was a 30-40 cycle but the last 3 months have been 28-30 so I've always kept the clearblue ones later. It's the flashing ones I have too. I will start them tomorrow as my shifts will allow morning testing for the next 6 days. I'm hoping this is the month but it's hard to be optimistic every month!

AlexaPlayWhiteNoise · 15/02/2021 15:19

Afternoon everyone! I'm CD4 after a chemical pregnancy. TTC#3. DS1 is 4 and DS2 is our angel baby (born and fell asleep in November at 21+4.)

I'm on 5mg of folic acid, b6 and b12. Pregnacare multivitamin and coQ10 as well as vitamin E. I'm counting this as cycle 2.

I track bbt and use OPKs. Was wondering about trying soy isoflavones this cycle but then got the bfp which didn't progress so didn't order any in time.

katiemumma20 · 15/02/2021 15:10

@Loops01 I think it depends on the individual! The cycle I got pregnant according to OPKs I ovulated day 9-10. My cycles can vary between about 27-35 days so maybe that’s why

hels301990 · 15/02/2021 14:35

I'm using the clear blue opks the ones where you have a flashing or static face. I have a 27/28 day cycle so the instructions say to start testing on day 7/8. I usually have 5 ish flashing days from about day 9 for "high" and my static "peak" on day 14 (on the 3 previous months anyway)

Dyinghouseplant · 15/02/2021 12:21

I'm starting OPK today at CD9. Totally forgot yesterday.

Loops01 · 15/02/2021 12:08

@hels301990 I was also CD1 the same day as you. This is month 7 for us. Been doing the opks for 5 months and lube for the past 2. Taking folic acid and some other general vitamins. Read a bit about coq10 and isoflavones helping others but they appear to be really expensive. I feel like I spend so much every month on TTC and it doesn't work so I am not quite at the stage where I want to spend more. This may change if still nothing this month. Bloods from GP were normal but they didn't do anything cycle or hormone specific as far as I am aware. When are you starting your opks? I normally don't ovulate until day 16 so don't do it until day 11 or 12. Also depends on my shifts!

hels301990 · 15/02/2021 11:55

@Dominican20 exactly the same as me!! I literally cannot shake off the something must be wrong feeling! Starting to OPK today too x

Dominican20 · 15/02/2021 10:31

CD7 today and started OPKing. I really hope this is the month for us all 🤞🏻 I can’t help starting to panic that something is wrong with me, I know it’s still early days but it’s a horrible feeling!

hels301990 · 13/02/2021 10:28

CD5 for me I think times stopped lol although AF has finished which is good! I recon some non baby making sex this weekend for Valentine's - try and get us a bit more relaxed and remember that it's not all about the baby making 🤷‍♀️ looking forward to Monday when I can start OPKing - that always feels like progress!

OP posts:
Dyinghouseplant · 13/02/2021 10:17

How is everyone? I'm CD7, I feel like time is going so slow!

hels301990 · 11/02/2021 21:38

Yes I used to be awful with my folic acid but since TTCing I've been spot on. Shame it's not worked so far though lol

OP posts:
Dyinghouseplant · 11/02/2021 20:49

Same here, 5mg folic acid and 3 monthly injections and I take a b12 sublingual daily but I've no idea if it does anything! I used to be terrible at remembering to take vitamins but I haven't missed a day since TTC!

hels301990 · 11/02/2021 17:58

@Dyinghouseplant I'm the same - low folate and B12; have 5mg a day of folate from the gp plus whatever is in my seven seas tablets (plus diet obvs) my b12 doesn't come up with tablet forms of B12 so I have injections every 3 months with the latest being tomorrow - I'm thinking surely that's got to be good for this month being the one?!

OP posts:
Dominican20 · 11/02/2021 17:45

@hels301990 @Dyinghouseplant I am on CD3- 4th cycle. I know I am the same, I am taking folic acid & b12. I am not sure what else to do this month, feels like we have done all we can!

Dyinghouseplant · 11/02/2021 17:38

Hi! I'm on CD5. 3rd cycle. I'm the same, start testing on CD8 and ready to get going again. I reaallllly hope it happens this month 🤞🤞🤞
I'm taking vitamin d, b12 and b complex and folic acid. I've had low levels of b12 and folate in the past so trying my best to keep them up.
