Hi everyone, just looking to see if anyone is just starting the next cycle and want to journey along together? We are TTC baby no.1 and this will be the 5th month of trying but 4th of actively using OPKs etc. After 2 months of being convinced we'd got pregnant and then AF arriving both times I'm getting a bit disheartened (and I am more than aware that it's really early days compared to most but it's just how it feels to me - can't seem to shake off the "something must be wrong feeling" even though you know it's probably fine) anyone trying anything new or different this month? Sending baby dust vibes to all!

This is month 7. Been off the pill for over a year and a half now. Period cycles have gone from 30-40 days to 28-31 days within the last 3 months. No known issues. Using opks for the last 5 months but only clearblue for 3 months now and I find them easier to read. We are both 31 and TTC#1. Really hoping there aren't any serious issues but obviously have to wait until 1 year to get anything other than a simple blood test.

Bellesjp · 20/02/2021 20:56

@Loops01Fingers crossed it’s our month! how long have you been trying?

Loops01 · 20/02/2021 20:16

Let's hope this month works for all of us then! We are all somewhat similar in the sense of I think hels is ovulating now, I will be shortly then it'll be you! Fingers and toes crossed! The obsession happens quick haha. I can't think of many things I've not heard or tried. Really hoping it will be this month or next otherwise I will be starting to wonder what is wrong

Bellesjp · 20/02/2021 19:38

Thanks @hels301990 and @Loops01 😊

My cycles are usually about 32/33 days, last month was first time using opks and I got positive on cd20, be interesting to see if it’s the same this month. We started trying in dec but decided to not track and see what happened.. that didn’t last very long til I was obsessing 😂 then jan my partner went away for work in my fertile window (typical!) and we only got to dtd the day after positive opk so think we left it too late!

Loops01 · 20/02/2021 09:13

Another empty face for me this morning. Hopefully flashing tomorrow

Loops01 · 19/02/2021 23:26

Welcome @Bellesjp! How long are your cycles normally? Feel free to share your story or 'journey' so far! Always nice to know we aren't alone in this.

hels301990 · 19/02/2021 21:06

Welcome @Bellesjp
Really hope this ends up being a lucky thread 🤞

Can I join? I’m CD13 today, started opks a few days ago but last month I didn’t get a positive til CD20. We’re dtd about every other day atm just in case but will up the game in a few days 🤣 this is our third month of ttc so fingers crossed third time lucky!

Loops01 · 19/02/2021 18:23

OK good to know. Might try that. I'm always worried that it isn't enough pee or something haha. Never thought about the pregnancy test though, good idea for in the future. Save having to wait to pee to try a different one.

hels301990 · 19/02/2021 17:08

I've just been peeing on the stick. Hoping it doesn't make a difference 🤷‍♀️ for any pregnancy tests I've done I've peed in a cup on the off chance it's positive and I want to try another brand test..as yet that's never happened 🙈

OP posts:
Loops01 · 19/02/2021 10:04

Also do you pee directly onto the stick or collect? I've been collecting then sticking the stick in so not sure if that's better or not

Loops01 · 19/02/2021 10:04

@hels301990 funny that we are the same day but different cycle! Nothing for me this morning again. My app says next 2 days before fertile window and the last 2 months it's been max of 1 day out either way so hopefully soon! Had a horrible migraine all yesterday and body hasn't felt good this month for some reason so don't know how all that will affect the cycle. Not been taking any meds just in case. Exactly, doesn't matter when ovulation is but just having it is the main thing! Good luck with SMEP!

hels301990 · 19/02/2021 09:29

@Loops01 he's okay...I think he's lucky with his personality type with the current situation.
I got my first flashing face today - 3 days later than usual. Really interested to see whether I just have less flashing faces this month or whether I'll ovulate later...does later than usual ovulation matter 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
Loops01 · 18/02/2021 09:10

I see, hopefully he's not too affected just now from covid. No smiley for me this morning either but normal for me at this stage. Think it'll be within the next 3 or 4 days for the static smiley. Will keep an eye on this to see when yours happens too!

hels301990 · 18/02/2021 07:36

@Loops01 it's my OH that works shifts and they can be bit all over at the moment as it's the hospital. We managed to DTD yday and this morning but still no flashy face which is unusual for me. I must be going to ovulate later which is I suppose why OPKs are useful!

OP posts:
Dominican20 · 17/02/2021 19:09

@Loops01 @hels301990 hope you both get your flashy smileys soon!! I am the same, I didn’t think last month would be the month and it wasn’t, but feeling ok this month 🤞🏻
Loops- it’s good you and your husbands shifts work out for ovulation day- that’s a positive for this month 🤞🏻

Loops01 · 17/02/2021 17:44

@hels301990 what kind of shifts do you do? Both me and my husband do shifts, sometimes the same but most of the time opposite and I find that really affects things including my cycle! This is probably the first month that we align for my ovulation which will make things a bit easier but it is also the thought of having it be ideal for the first time in a while and it still not working Confused.

hels301990 · 17/02/2021 17:07

@Loops01 ive been back and forward. One day it's "never going to happen" and the next "it's our month" I hope I get a flashing face tomorrow because if not and my ovulation date moves too much we will not get the chance to DTD because of shifts again so 🤞🤞🤞

Loops01 · 17/02/2021 16:09

Good luck @Dominican20! Hopefully in the next few days we will have smileys and flashies hels. I'm less impatient and just kinda given up hope this month Sad, not feeling optimistic at all. Will still test and do the SMEP but just don't have a positive feelings for myself. Hard to stay optimistic.

Dominican20 · 17/02/2021 13:38

I’ve had two days of flashing faces now which is normal for me. Last month I didn’t see them for ages and ovulated late. Doing SMEP plan aswell so started last night.

hels301990 · 17/02/2021 13:11

Yeah I'm not too concerned yet just impatient lol

OP posts:
Loops01 · 17/02/2021 11:38

@hels301990 I am empty circle too for cd9 too but I can see faint lines so the hormones are building up is what I am thinking. It's normally too early for me but will see what happens the next few days.

hels301990 · 17/02/2021 10:18

Expected to get my first flashing face today - CD9 (the other months I've had it on CD8/9) but still empty circle ... come on body so impatient to get to ovulation lol

OP posts:
Loops01 · 15/02/2021 19:44

I have not tried SMEP so now that I have googled I will try that! We've done every day and every 2 days. Will start opks early this month and getting preseed application ones tomorrow so will ty that. We have conceive plus before for the last 3 months but only he has used it so will try preseed on myself instead. That's what we will be trying. If nothing then next month I will do more vitamins and focus more on a VERY clean diet/exercise (not fun because I like my chocolate haha)

AlexaPlayWhiteNoise · 15/02/2021 19:19

I have a long cycle so don't usually get a positive opk until cd22-24 (if I get one at all as my main issue was that I wasn't ovulating).

If I don't ovulate this cycle then definitely going down the soy isoflavones path next cycle.

I have a refferal for a blood test and scan also but I forgot to phone with the up and down of the chemical.

How is everyone?
