Hi ladies anyone want to join me in a thread to chat about ttc this month? I’m currently on CD2.
A bit about me.

I’m 28 and TTC baby number 1. We’ve been trying for a year and a half now, I had 4 recurrent miscarriages in 2020 so hoping the next will stick. I’ve been given new medication to try next time.
@CycloGoose @@kaylsd thanks for the birthday wishes for him 😊
I love a bit of DIY too, but I have to be in the mood for it and usually works better when me and hubby aren't bickering!
It just needed a coat of pain and the grout in the tiles refreshing so nothing too crazy.
I'm running out of rooms in the house to do something to, we did a lot in the first lockdown.
@CycloGoose
how long have you been TTC if you don't mind me asking? Do you think you'll consider the home fertility tests? It's something I've thought about but if I'm honest, the thought of the outcome scares me.
Even the odd spruce up makes a world of a difference! When I first moved in my home I was hooked on looking on the DIY on a budget group on Facebook, I couldn't convince my husband to fablon my kitchen worktops but he let me paint them grey with Wilco paint and they look ace! Have you seen those grout pens you can get if you want to change colour of your tile lines? I'm tempted to do the black tile pen with my white grout n white tiles within my kitchen 🤔

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join in? I'm 33 and ttc baby #1. We fell pregnant last October after trying for over a year but sadly ended in mmc in December. This is my third cycle since the mmc and they've been a bit all over the place. Started temping for the first time and didn't ovulate in December but did in January but period came early so was a 9 day lp. In a somewhat desperate attempt I think, I'm giving Angus cactus a go and also cb ovulation tests as temping is stressing me out and disturbing my sleep! As soon as I get close to potential ovulation I'm waking two hours earlier than normal and then throwing my temps 🙈 I'm CD5 at the moment so a little behind some of you :) x
Hey there darling welcome to the group! I'm also trying for first baby, 6 month in and no luck as of yet however we've not had the easiest journey with our TTC down to secondary illness with covid for me and my hub & last month he had food poisoning in my FW 🙈 how have you found Angus cactus? I've heard mixed reviews with it some people have found it amazing and shortened long cycles and lengthens the LP but I've heard some people say it delays them and sent their cycle wappy?🙈

@TwiceLemonDifficult

Hello everyone. I'm finally joining in after weeks of lurking. I'm 35 (36 in 10 days) and trying for baby #1.

We've got some health issues that make conceiving naturally rather difficult and so after a lot of getting nowhere I finally had my first IUI on Wednesday. I think that makes me about 3DPO. I'm trying not to obsess and constantly think about it but reading everyone else's stories here somehow makes me feel a lot calmer about it all even if I'm still obsessing. At least I'm not alone!

The nurses told me I should wait til the 24th and do a non-digital clear blue test but am tempted to try a FRER on my birthday (23rd). Could be the biggest downer ever though. Confused

Anyway thank you all for sharing your similar journeys and stresses, you've helped me a lot so far without evening knowing it. Smile

Hey there sweetheart! Sorry for the delay in response been out working, welcome to the group and the horrible long road of a TWW! I hope your journeys experience with IUI ends with a positive outcome for you, how did you find the procedure I hope it was a smooth process for you, but until we know the end result your welcome to symptom Spot, pass time chatting with us all, knowing we are all part of the same journey with one and another 🤞🏻❤️🌈
princesscallie · 13/02/2021 16:05

That definitely sounds promising. How long is your cycle usually?

princesscallie · 13/02/2021 16:00

Ladies can I join? We are ttc #3. This is our first month trying after deciding midcycle last month. My cycle is usually very regular at around 28 to 30 days. However January was slightly shorter at 27 days. I'm using clear blue digital ovulation predictor and am now on cycle day 16 and nothing. So not sure what is going on. I am 36 now and have a 7 and 5 year old. Never used anything the last 2 times and it took around 4 months to get pregnant after I came off the pill. However I haven't been on contraception for over 2 years now. So not sure what is going on.

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 15:40
@lucea87 that’s sounds promising!! 😊 when would you normally test? xx
This is my first cycle. I was expecting AF on 9th as my cycle is usually 33/34 days.

I am in! Eager to start my family at 34. February was our first month ttc, now I'm waiting to see if I conceived

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 14:53

If i hadn't have flashing smileys from CD20 to CD28 with no static smiley I would be excited and be testing. I did think I had ovulated CD23 as I forgot to do the test that morning & did it later on so was likely a diluted result so it didn't pick up the peak, but even so I should have come on by now as that's 16 days ago. The cramping feels like AF, I'm really surprised I've had no bleed. I'm going to hold out until Monday the do a FRER if no sign of AF.

Dyinghouseplant · 13/02/2021 14:44

That sounds promising @lucea87
I'm only CD7 @Slinks8113 so not too far ahead of you. Good luck.

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 14:26

Just checking in that everyone is ok. I'm now CD39. Still no AF I've been cramping for 2/3 days but cm is clear/white. I have no idea what's going on but I'm scared to rest too early.

@Slinks8113 so sorry to hear that, but lots of luck moving forward. Xx

@TwiceLemonDifficult oh so much good luck!

I don't know if we can get any testing yet on the NHS.

You are probably right. Maybe I need to download the Calms app or something. I didn't feel like I was stressed either but... Oh, I don't know. Blarghhhh

TwiceLemonDifficult · 13/02/2021 13:17

@CycloGoose Thank you! We have gone for natural cycle IUI for the the first instance so no ultrasound, just opk. I've never stared at the shades of purple so hard in my life. We had all the regular tests beforehand and all looked good so doctor is very hopeful at our chances (though still only 25%).

I think it's definitely worth chatting to the doctor because at least you can get your basic blood tests done to confirm ovulation and sperm count, especially if you're worried. Though if it helps I swear my uterus can tell when I'm thinking about babies. I have always had super regular periods but on the few occasions when it seemed we had a chance of conception of get a random early or later period (3-4 days off my usual 28). I guess stress affects hormones a lot more than we realize and that's why AF would always appear once I took a test and confirmed a BFN.

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 13:00

@kaylsd Yeah I don't think any need to change anything up that's working for you. There's enough to contend with!

My LP hasn't been short before so I haven't looked into it. I take ubiquinol which I hoped would help to thicken my lining. Hey ho. Another AF another go!

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 12:48

Welcome @TwiceLemonDifficult !
Well done for making it so far. It's just horrible isn't it but good news you have the doctors helping you now.
Did you get an ultrasound or anything to decide when you had IUI?
Everything crossed for you.
My husband has little empathy with me. Don't think he's noticed I'm a mess today. He says he doesn't think we should do any tests but he did say he would try a bit harder next time.
I think I might try to get a doc appt on Monday to see if they have any concerns with my random, early AF.

kaylsd · 13/02/2021 12:48
@kaylsd Have a good day at work! Good to try something new like you have, even if it's just to rule it out. I can see what you mean about being part of a team etc. I'm sure most departments are crying out for support at the moment so hopefully won't be too difficult to go back if you want to. My friend has just started her first job as a paediatric nurse. She loves it but I feel I'd take it all home with me.

We haven't tried anything in the book yet! It was very over priced. You have to scratch a date off on it and it will tell you what to do. It has a guide about price, planning, best time to do it.

The purple CB you should get enough sticks for 2 cycles, then you have to start again. It's a lot of plastic.

I'm really cross with my body. Almost certainly AF. I'm gutted, mostly because it's so confusing to have such a short luteal phase. My cycles have pretty consistently been 28 days. Why change this month? Got to think, at least can try again sooner but we'll be back commuting so will be even harder 😭
Your right there sweet I've always told myself and many of my loved ones who can sometimes be unhappy in work that you are never tied to a job or an area and you control your own happiness! I'm just gonna play it by ear for now and at least if I give it a good run then it's on my experience list for future paths! I'm sorry to hear AF has come early it's such a pain when it does that! Have you considered anything to lengthen your LP? I've seen on threads before people have used that Angus cactus to help with assist with this however I've also read that it can make your cycle do the hokey cockey and cause problems with delaying AF sending lots of hugs anyway sweet! Pour yourself a glass of wine and eat whatever you favour as comfort food and consider this next cycle as a new start and you can enjoy your FW with your loved one ❤️🥰

I think I'm just going to stick with the cheap OPK system, it works for me at the moment and I've been able to pin point OD with the use of them and BBT so whilst ever it works for me I don't need to change it X

kaylsd · 13/02/2021 12:41

@BWaiting thank you sweetheart! Happy birthday to your hubs! I've just had my bathroom done just before Christmas my house was upside down for 4 month the dust was a nightmare!!! What DIY plans do you have in mind? :)

@BWaiting Happy birthday to your husband!

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it's AF. I'm gutted. I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable as well so that's just grrrrrreat. I don't understand why my AF would be 5 days early, especially when I got positive results with the CB ovulation kit. It would make my luteal phase super short.

I've been googling at home fertility tests this morning. Wondering if it's a good idea. Worried we're the 1 in 6 that has infertility issues.

5dpo. TWW seems to go on forever! At least early AF means next attempt can come more quickly 🙂 Silver linings

What you doing in your bathroom? Love a bit of DIY

BWaiting · 13/02/2021 09:02

Good morning ladies.
Sorry I've been a bit of a silent reader the last day or so.
Was husbands birthday yesterday, so I was kept busy running around doing lockdown bits for that as well as an unexpectedly busy day with work. It passed the time though and kept my mind off this but I've woken today and I'm only 5dpo, surely I should be at least 10 now!!! 😂😂
Plan to re decorate our bathroom this weekend while my husband is off work so hoping that'll pass some time.

@CycloGoose has AF arrived? Did the blood stop? Hope you're not out yet. It's like our bodies know when to play games with us and it's always at the wrong time!! Fingers 🤞🏼for you.

@kaylsd your husband sounds so sweet!! You deserve all the kindness and love. My husband is rubbish at presents, always thinks I want something extravagant but really all I want is a lie in and some chocolates!

@Sallyjo27 how are you? Are you using OPK's?
The waiting around is by far the worst. FW is great though and you have that to look forward to 😄 do you have any plans this weekend to keep you busy?

@els10 happy weekend! I'm 5dpo, AF is due around the 23rd and I've promised myself I won't test before then.

@CycloGoose I’m currently working as a district nurse, been one for about 3 month as I wanted time out from the wards as last year was so hard both physically & mentally (I feel lost though at the moment as I miss the wards too much and I enjoy company of various teams coming together for care so I do think I’ll return but unsure of what area, we keep having to be moved into the wards but to covid units to support the pandemic but prior to that, I was a Gynaecology specialist nurse for 5 years who cared for various issues things including miscarriage management up to 12 weeks gestation, so raw with emotion some situations I had to deal with, my heart actually breaks when I hear about people having miscarriages but also was nice when I saw the flip side of people coming in for threatened miscarriages but ended up with beautiful healthy pregnancies and I’ve done bits within surgery too for cancer patients, bit of variety really but I love being a nurse so much🌈❤️

But on the flip side I take my hat off to you! You guys are also unsung hero’s with the flipping of upside down routine you’ve had to undertake and creating a new normal way of learning and being a front of strength to pupils to keep on learning and achieve the best even when times are rough!

What’s that adventure book like? Does it recommend like national peak walks, that kind of vibe? Valentine’s can be such a money making day out of the year, I’m not all about the fancy diamonds give me good food and chocolates and tell me you’ll sort out washing and ironing then I’m a content lady 👌🏻😂

With the cb once you’ve finished with your testing strips do you have to buy a complete new system or can you get refills? I do like the thought of not having to do a balancing act to take a still photo of my strip to get the reading percentage 😂😂

CycloGoose · 12/02/2021 22:34

❤️ labs amazing. I'm out the house too much (normally)
