Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

*running (not turning)

Lisyloo725 · 22/02/2021 12:41

Morning ladies! Just to let those considering an early scan know- I had one today (6+3) - because I had an ectopic previously so they do it as a matter of course, and all is well with this one.
You could see the heart beat. The sac. The fetal pole. And there is only one in there!! Phew!
One hurdle down - next thing I’m looking into is the NIPT testing as I’m 40 👵🏻...
Very exciting that I’m only 4 weeks away from finding out the gender (we didn’t with DC1 or 2)...and, I think, having seen the heartbeat, this is a good sign.
I’m just unsure whether I can start up tuning again - I ran weekly before I was preg - just 5-10k...anyone got any advice on that?
Sending luck and well wishes all x x

@Lisyloo725 I’m hoping that if I bribe the kids and point them in the right direction, then they will concentrate and crack on so that I don’t have to do as much.

I love peppermint tea and it does help a little bit but I’m not drinking too much of it because I read something that said not to in the first trimester and I am massively risk averse at the moment.

I’m clinging on to it being a good sign and just hoping it doesn’t last the whole pregnancy.

Oh bless you @Leonberger and @Secretsquirrelisfedup
My sickness feeling is mild compared to yours and I’m struggling.
Maybe a few days off ‘sick’ would help @Leonberger...
@Secretsquirrelisfedup it sounds like you’re job is homeschooling- which you can’t really take a sick day from....
Have either of you tried peppermint tea?
I think the sickness is a good sign - I didn’t have this with either of my losses - so although it’s the pits, it’s things cooking!
Fresh air helped me yesterday - we went out (I didn’t feel like it) just to the wilds of some parkland, and I sat on the floor while the kids made a hedgehog house. Just half an hour of that gave me some respite. X

In reception even if they were in school they mainly learn through play at that age. DDs teacher last year said let them play and draw, read to them as often as you can and throw in a few phonics videos or CBeebies programmes and they should be fine.

I don’t understand why you have to fight so hard to get the medication which can a) help you actually be able to retain some sort of nutrition and hydration and b) enable you to manage your daily life and continue to work without risking total burnout.

OP posts:
Leonberger · 21/02/2021 09:22

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I’m also homeschooling but my DS is refusing to do much at the moment. He’s only in reception though so I’m trying not to worry too much about it if I can. I don’t think it will make any difference long term if we slack for a few weeks will it. I’m hoping they get back to school in March!

I have an early scan booked for next weekend when I will be somewhere between 7 and 7+4, not sure if it will help the stress but for the sake of £70 it might be worth the chance.

In my last pregnancy I ended up on medication but I really had to fight for it Confused My boss does know however it’s such a physical job it’s so hard to hide when your feeling unwell. I really don’t want people to know though as if anything happens I will have to tell them about that too. So difficult isn’t it!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 21/02/2021 09:17

@Leonberger No, I wasn’t going to have an early scan but I am definitely reconsidering at the moment. I should be somewhere between 6+3 and 5+6 today so I might book one some time in the next week. I had a look online and there’s quite a few slots available.

I’m feeling similar to you and in your shoes I would talk to the GP. Absolutely no way could I make it through that. I’m dreading just having to return to homeschooling and that’s nothing compared to what you’ve got on your plate.

I hope you manage to find a solution. Do work know you’re pregnant?

Hope everyone’s been feeling okay over the past few days.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I know the feeling. Not sure how to stop feeling like that though, have you got a scan booked? I was still testing up until a few days ago but I’ve stopped now because it does not help me feel any better.

I’ve also been struggling the last few days. Vomiting after everything I eat, constantly drooling and retching plus exhaustion and headaches. I can’t be bothered to do anything at all. I’m trying to tell myself this is a good sign but I feel awful. Not sure how I can work like this...I’ve got a full week of 12 hour shifts this week starting at 7am tomorrow Sad

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 21/02/2021 08:37

Good morning, hope you’re all doing well. I’m struggling a bit this week. I think the pregnancy seems to be going well because I still feel sick and wiped out constantly and I’ve definitely got pregnancy boobs going on still but I can’t seem to get out of my own head. I’m stressed, panicky and really down and nothing that usually helps is working.

I must have burped 500 times today! My poor family! Feel gross.
I haven’t had this before - and the all day sicky feeling....with DC1 didn’t have any, with DC2 just in the evenings.
I’ve felt dizzy and sick since I got out of bed at 7 this morning! 😣
How are you ladies? X

whitershadeofpale · 19/02/2021 16:57

I've just woke up from a 2hr nap. Exhaustion just hit after lunch and I could hardly keep my eyes open. Normally I'd have a strong coffee but I'm trying to resist, that's the advantage of being self employed and working from home I suppose!

Hoplop · 19/02/2021 14:33

Exhaustion has hit here in full force! Can’t keep my eyes open past 7pm and feeling like everything I do in the afternoon is a huuuuuge effort!

jades132 · 18/02/2021 21:26

@Leonberger hope you aren't suffering too badly.
@daisyorange2 haha yes I'm jealous too!
I still feel pretty much normal, have ever so slightly bruised feeling to boobs and a little more tired that usual. Other than that nothing. Still feels surreal. I have an early scan booked for next Thursday. I'll be 6+6 according to LMP so hopefully can see something 🤞🏼x

daisyorange2 · 18/02/2021 10:57

@englishgirlinscotland I'm 5 + 4 today, maybe a couple of days more. How about you?

I keep crying over things that are not sad and I'm very snappy with DH. I don't usually have a short temper at all so must be the hormones. Isn't it funny how we all get totally different symptoms? And also in different pregnancies too.

@Leonberger my scan is 3 days after yours. I feel like once I pass this weekend I will feel better, I know 6 weeks is a mini development milestone and I'm deffo all about the small wins right now!

Leonberger · 18/02/2021 10:51

@Lisyloo725 that’s strange as I felt ‘fluey’ and freezing last night. I thought I was going to come down with something but then fine this morning!

Lisyloo725 · 18/02/2021 10:48

@Leonberger I second the feeling like been hit by a bus in the pm! I think it’s tiredness! I already have 2DC and it’s half term so there’s no let up - snacks, activities, clear up, make food, clear up repeat!
I’m also feeling like I have chills in the eve - again I’m putting it down to tiredness and I’ve also googled and found it’s a sensation that ‘cold people’ get due to actually being warmer (greater blood flow)!!
Have a fun day ppl!

Leonberger · 18/02/2021 10:15

@daisyorange2 I know exactly how you feel! I’ve still got another 13 days until my early scan so I’m just crossing everything that all is okay! Some lucky people get no sickness at all, maybe your one of them!

It’s nowhere near as bad as my first pregnancy yet though. That was horrific Blush

Strangely I tend to feel fine on a morning and then feel like I’ve been hit by a bus by afternoon time. Not sure that’s the right way round though Grin

englishgirlinscotland · 18/02/2021 10:07

@daisyorange2 how far along are you now? I haven't noticed mood swings yet but tiredness is definitely still here as is the weird metal mouth taste! My boobs look and feel exactly the same though, my husband keeps looking over and I'm just poking myself trying to work out if they feel different Grin

daisyorange2 · 18/02/2021 09:41

Am I a crazy person to be jealous of the sickness @Leonberger haha! Only when pregnant would someone wish to be sick!!

How is everyone feeling today? Think I'm kind of settling into the fact I'm really pregs now. Tiredness & mood swings galore.

2 weeks til my booking appt and the private scan, can't bloody wait!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 18/02/2021 08:59

Good morning, glad you’re seeing the silver lining to feeling rubbish @Leonberger. It’s so weird isn’t it, at no other point in life would you be happy about feeling disgusting and gutted when you feel fine. I hope you don’t suffer too much with it though.

OP posts:
Leonberger · 18/02/2021 08:09

Thanks both of you- I actually don’t mind too much as it feels like something is happening. I’m 6+1 today. I do feel pretty rough though and like I could sleep for days!

Hope you are all feeling okay.

Lisyloo725 · 17/02/2021 19:32

Poor you @Leonberger x

jades132 · 17/02/2021 18:36

Oh no @Leonberger I hope it doesn't last long. You are 6 weeks today aren't you? Xx

Leonberger · 17/02/2021 17:56

Well after all of the moaning about having no symptoms the vomiting has certainly hit me today Blush

whitershadeofpale · 16/02/2021 20:04

@Hoplop yes I’ve had the same on and off. Also (tmi warning!) I’ve been ‘damper’ than usual which has made me a bit panicky in the mornings.
