@sunshineandshowers3
I’m sure it will be as really it’s about age isn’t it - and you’re young and healthy and have regular cycles so it’s probably going to come out normal but it’s nice to get that reassurance.

Haha that is good! 5 days is a good amount to wait. Hopefully the time you wait that long is the time you get your positive.

Well for me (without acupuncture) I get 2 days of heavier bleeding - and sorry for TMI but those two heavier days still don’t really max out a β€˜normal’ tampon in like 4 hours and I could do with a lighter than normal one really as it can be uncomfortable removing it because my flow has not been enough. But when I have acupuncture my two heavy days are like almost over-filling a β€˜normal’ tampon every couple hours and a lot more clots. So that’s the difference for me... the other days in my cycle don’t even need tampon and just an everyday liner would do as it’s more like inbetween spotting and a period.

Yes I have really cold hands and feet most of the time which apparently is another sign of poor circulation- which in acupuncture they call β€˜blood deficiency’ - which my acupuncturist says is what I have. So basically my blood flow enough to the places it needs to.

It was amazing weather wasn’t it! Glad you had a nice time celebrating - Happy 29th Birthday to you πŸ₯³

I’m just at the start of the fertile week but did a CB digital ovulation test and no smiley today just regular ⭕️ so will keep doing those for the next few days...

That is good that he won’t be have his SA on your ovulation day. It’s frustrating when these things get in the way. For your follicle ultrasound will they discuss it with you there and then or do you have a follow up appointment?

Xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 06/04/2021 17:56

Me too- she said the follicle count scan will be the most beneficial to get done so hoping that’s positive like yours was 😊🀞.

May pop a comment on that thread too then - thanks ❀️.

Didn’t do any tests this month which I’m glad of now obviously. I have two clear blue ones in my drawer but have vowed I’ll only take one if I’m 5+ days late. Let’s see how long that willpower lasts eh? πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ this cycle has felt so different though. Never ovulated as late as CD14. Will use OPKs this month and pre-seed but haven’t got anything else in to use.

3-5 days of heavy bleeding? Gosh that is quite far from where I’m at now. Do you know what constitutes β€˜heavy’? I wonder if people’s thresholds are different πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

Not really in terms of cold hands and feet. Do you?

Ah sounds lovely 🌞 the weather certainly helped! It was my birthday so had a couple of people round in the garden, and yes, a few weeks wines πŸ™Š.

Where are you in your cycle? Only good thing about period coming late is that hopefully I won’t be able to ovulating when DP goes for his SA. Trying to think of the positives 😧xx

This is the other thread I’m on if you’re interested xx

MiniBaker · 06/04/2021 12:38

@sunshineandshowers3

So glad you’ve taken control and got something booked - it’s definitely worth it for the reassurance!

Yes - the thread is full of people who are 12 months + and looking at IVF and scans etc so it’s really interesting reading about their journeys and what they do next.

It’s sooo disappointing when your period is a couple days late it’s absolute torture isn’t it. Did you do any tests?

With regards to the light periods, I’ve been back to acupuncture this month and I told him my period was much heavier again after having acupuncture which I thought was good and was pretty happy... But he said that 2 days of heavy bleeding is improvement but really it’s not enough for really healthy eggs and thick lining and it needs to be 3-5 days of heavy bleeding. So he’s sticking a few more needles in to increase the blood flow. So I definitely think you’re on to something with the light periods.

The acupuncture is a accumulative so the more months you have it builds it up more and more and I they recommend 3 months to see best effects.

Do you regularly have cold hands and feet?

Had a great weekend with my mum visiting for the weekend so feeling nice and relaxed. How’s your Easter holidays going? Hope you enjoyed a few wines πŸ·πŸ˜Šβ˜€οΈ

sunshineandshowers3 · 06/04/2021 08:20

@MiniBaker Antral Follice Count Scan booked for Thursday πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€žπŸ‘πŸ» xxx

sunshineandshowers3 · 06/04/2021 06:52

That’s so different to what DP has been told. He honestly feels absolutely fine about it. He’s very practical, sees it as something that needs to be done and therefore will do it.

My periods are so light so that’s definitely playing on my mind as a possibility.

Have people on the other threads looked into scans about the same time as us? I have had a very weird cycle this month! Ovulated on day 14 (usually CD11) and then my AF started last night (two days late). Another month of hope and disappointment gone and I think I can officially say goodbye to the idea of a 2021 baby πŸ˜”.

Have found a clinic in my area so going to give them a ring today and try and take some control. How’re you? Hope you had a nice Easter weekend and ate all the chocolate! ❀️Xxx

MiniBaker · 01/04/2021 09:05

@sunshineandshowers3 sorry forgot to tag you πŸ˜‚

MiniBaker · 01/04/2021 09:05

That’s interesting as it’s really different in our area - we rang GP who gave us the pack and then DH rang the hospital a few days before to book a time slot to drop it off but he could have picked any time slot really - so he picked a convenient one for him. Guess they have a corona backlog now though...
How is he feeling about it?

Really quick just 10 - 15 minutes - she took lots of measurements including the endometrial lining - which was really thin (1.5mm) but I had just finished AF so she said it was what she would expect it to be - showing it’s shedding properly. Interesting to know it has to be 7mm - definitely could be a factor for me as I do have such light periods (without acupuncture). Probably a combination of small things I reckon... do you think you would consider getting a scan?

I don’t know if it’s a good thing as I probably spend too much time obsessing! But I wanted to be on one with more people who had been trying for longer than me to see what their next steps were if you know what I mean xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 01/04/2021 07:02

It’s the NHS one so they (finally) rang him and gave him that date. It’s also fallen on his birthday too πŸ™ˆ the poor thing! We’ll leave it 48 hours minimum then and hopefully I’ll still stand a chance at month!

Glad to hear it πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜Š how long does the scan take? I know what you mean- the longer you leave it the taste just then feels weird.

Probably just have a few family members in the garden if the weather holds up. Not much else really. We’re not huge birthday people but as long as cake and a small glass of fizz are involved then I’m happy πŸ˜€.

Ah great so none of the scans/blood tests are cycle dependent? That’s good to know! Did you have the endometrial thickness scan? I’ve read the lining has to be at least 7mm for successful implantation. SO many factors!

Haha you’re good keeping up on multiple threads...I just about manage this one! xxx

MiniBaker · 31/03/2021 23:12

@sunshineandshowers3
Wow really? That’s annoying - so does he have to book a specific appointment that far in advance?
It said in the pack at least 48 hours but no more than 5 days... to be honest his was just under 48 hours but I don’t think it mattered too much.

Yeah I started in primary school so was worried but she said it’s pretty much the ideal amount. A few glasses a week can’t hurt at all and it will definitely balance you out by feeling more chilled. I’ve literally not drank for over a year now and it’s not made a difference, clearly! But now it’s been so long I’ve just completely lost the taste for it ... sure it will come back once we’re out and about again πŸ˜‚

Are you doing anything nice for your birthdays? Ahh I’m always working out the dates of things don’t worry you’re not alone there!

Yeah I know what you mean exactly. Actually, you can have the scan anytime in your cycle along with the blood test. Haha I’m on another thread that has some super-oracles on so I feel like I’m learning so much! xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 31/03/2021 21:47

@MiniBaker Also with the follicle count do you need to book the scan in at a particular time during your cycle or does it not matter? Apologies for all the questions! clearly I think you’ve become the oracle of such things! πŸ˜‹xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 31/03/2021 21:45

Coincidentally my DP got the call about his SA today. Sod’s law it’s the day I’m meant to ovulate next month πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚. Literally why?!? How long did you have to abstain from sex before your partner had his?

Great news about the follicle count πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜Š really happy for you that it was strong. Remind me, you started your period quite young like me didn’t you? That’s reassured me a little as I always worry I’ve used my good eggs up πŸ™ˆ.

Stress seems to be one of the main causes it really does. I know alcohol relaxes me and I’ve never been a big drinker so going to have 1/2 glasses a week in the hope of feeling more chilled! He’s got the 4 day weekend and then might take a bit more time off. Both of our birthdays are coming up (my 29th). Worked out like a crazy woman that id have to conceive by July if I was to become a Mum before I’m 30. I need to get out more, don’t I? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€ͺ

Just boobs as they always are before my period and just that feeling that you can’t put your finger on and yet you know it’s there πŸ˜” xxx

MiniBaker · 31/03/2021 21:18

@sunshineandshowers3
Yeah I don’t know really πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I think pretty much if their sperms fine that’s it πŸ˜‚

Tests went well! She did the scan and showed it all to me there and then on the screen - everything looked fine and I had a really healthy follicle count 13 on one side and 14 on the other, so that suggests I’ve got plenty of eggs left and I’ve not got PCOS. It was reassuring to see on the screen that it all looks normal and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. Would recommend if you wanted peace of mind.

I don’t get the blood tests results for a couple weeks when we have the Zoom with the doctor so will see what she says but I think it’s probably stress that’s not helping me conceive... as everything obvious seems to be fine... I just need to chill out πŸ˜‚ glad you’re enjoying the sunshine and it’s timed perfectly for your time off! Maybe luck is on your side this month πŸ€ πŸ‘Ά has your OH got any time off with you?

What is making you think AF is on her way?
Xxx

sunshineandshowers3 · 31/03/2021 17:55

@MiniBaker Yeah I’m never sure with men, like if their sperm count is fine, is that pretty much it? Why are so much more complicated πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ.

Sounds like you’ve done the right research finding the best clinic! 😊 How did the tests go? Did they put you at ease? Hope so. It’s all so daunting and such a minefield!

Yeah I just don’t buy pregnancy tests anymore to avoid temptation. I buy ovulation tests but not pregnancy ones.

Not primrose oil yet but let me know if it helps and I may do next cycle! 😊 still sticking religiously to grapefruit juice (it’s clearly not helping but what the heck πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ).

Definitely feel like AF will be here in the next few days. Been enjoying wine in the garden and trying to relax.

Where the tests uncomfortable at all? Xxx

PeanuttyButter · 31/03/2021 08:42

@MiniBaker glad things are going forward for you and I have all my fingers crossed that all is well and even more so like @sunshineandshowers3 said that you conceive naturally now you've started the whole progress.

Completely agree with the whole no testing thing too. I tested the first 3 months but I couldn't bring myself to do it after then as it was worth than AF arriving. It's like the BFN takes your hope away if that makes sense. AF is fact.

MiniBaker · 29/03/2021 22:43

@sunshineandshowers3
Ahh that’s amazing 🀩 yeah I hope it gives you a nice amount of time to relax and unwind. One week just flies by doesn’t it!

He’s not going for any tests as he already did the SA in November and he has really good quality sperm...so it’s definitely me!

I’m having to travel to Manchester which is about an hour away but I did a bit of research and this one seemed to have the best reviews and seemed to offer the most different tests and things.

Yeah the tests are basically looking at how many eggs I’ve got and the quality of them
I think? But to be honest I’m not 100% sure what else exactly but guess I’ll ask tomorrow for more info. It’s not looking at my Fallopian tubes and don’t think this will look for Endometriosis - which are other tests you can have done but I may be wrong but as long as you’ve got decent eggs - I think you qualify for IVF? Fingers crossed mine are alright 🀞

Oh completely with you - I tested the first two months of TTC but found it so much worse getting a BFN than just having AF show up. I usually get one spot that pops up like a week before AF arrives and tbh that’s my sign that I’m out as it’s like clockwork πŸ˜‚

Have you tried taking evening primrose oil? Some people have recommended it to me to
Improve EWCM so I’ve started taking it this cycle. Haha I literally seem to try something new every monthπŸ˜‚

Xxx

sunshineandshowers3 · 29/03/2021 21:06

@MiniBaker Two thankfully! Looking forward to a break and time to spend with DP.

That is fantastic and super speedy! So glad it has progressed quickly. Is your DP going for any tests or just you? Hope you get on well... please let me know 😊. Β£300 isn’t too bad at all! How did you decide on a specific clinic? Was there much choice by you/are you having to travel far?

Β£5000 is a lot but equally I completely agree! Another year feels like an eternity doesn’t it πŸ˜”. Will the tests you’re having show if you’re viable for IVF then? Sorry lots of questions I’m just genuinely so intrigued!

Glad the acupuncture is working in terms of your AF! Really hoping you’re one of many people who gets pregnant when they start all the fertility procedures 😊.

Yeah just no symptoms in general either way. I have no pregnancy tests in and have said to myself I’m not testing until I’m late- whatever month that may or may not be. Not sure if you feel the same but the disappointment of AF turning up is actually less than another negative pregnancy test xxx

MiniBaker · 29/03/2021 19:45

@sunshineandshowers3 no worries I completely understand what it’s like! Do you get 1 week or 2 off?

It’s been really positive actually! I’m going in tomorrow for the pelvic ultrasound scan, antral follicle count scan and AMH blood test. Then we have an appointment on the 15th April to discuss the results. These first tests aren’t crazy money (Β£300 total) so I feel like it’s worth it for now as can just rule out anything or see if anything is wrong there to be aware of...

Oh my DH still wants to try naturally for a couple more months but we’ve said June / July we might look to have a cycle of IVF if results come back showing that would work for us... it looks like it will probably cost about Β£5000 for a cycle though... but I don’t want to wait a whole extra year for NHS and be even older.. and insane by then πŸ˜‚

Had acupuncture again this month and made my period really heavy again which I feel is a good thing so hoping that’s working!

6po is early on, hoping this is your month 🀞 no symptoms that AF is on her way is good! xxxx

sunshineandshowers3 · 29/03/2021 18:25

@MiniBaker Sorry for the late reply, as ever a mad busy time at school in the lead up to Easter.

How has everything gone with contacting a private fertility clinic? Have you got dates/ appointments in place? Is it costing the earth? πŸ™ˆI know my DP won’t even entertain the idea until it’s been a year...so hopefully come May I can persuade him! 🀞

How’re you both feeling about it all? Currently 6DPO and no symptoms whatsoever!xxx

MiniBaker · 26/03/2021 06:35

Hi @SarahMumof1DS there is a March one now - I will try and send you the link!

SarahMumof1DS · 25/03/2021 21:32

Hi Girls, is this the latest bus? I just found this thread but is there a March one? X

MiniBaker · 24/03/2021 18:20

@sunshineandshowers3
So gutting - it’s been a really hard one for me this time as I tried so many things - I don’t know about you but I feel like I get more upset when we’ve tried really hard that month so I’m with you in your attitude - it’s a great way to be.

Today I’ve booked in for private fertility tests, the ultrasounds and the AMH blood test at a clinic with a view to starting the journey towards IVF if it’s needed... we wouldn’t have considered it before but with the wedding off we’ve got some savings so hoping to get some answers and feel like we’re taking some sort of control of the situation.

Fingers crossed for you this month is your month and maybe the work distraction is what your needed πŸ‘Ά 🀞xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 24/03/2021 17:29

@MiniBaker Hi 😊 so so so sorry to hear you are out again. It genuinely is completely gutting every month isn’t it πŸ˜”. Hope you’re being kind to yourself. I know from personal experience it’s easier said than done though! Sending you all my love, as always ❀️. It will be our month at some point, we have to keep telling ourselves that.

I got peak fertility today on the OPKs. DTD Monday, will do it tonight and tomorrow too. I’m CD14 today so have ovulated later than usual as I’m usually around day 11. I feel oddly okay this month. I’m going to really really try the mantra of β€˜it won’t happen this month’ and hope to one day soon be surprised. I’ve been so busy with work my mind has been distracted a little thankfully.

@PeanuttyButter Sorry to hear that πŸ˜” hoping you get your BFP soon! How long have you been ttc? x

MiniBaker · 24/03/2021 06:55

@PeanuttyButter sorry to hear you are out. I’m out too - spotting from yesterday turned in to more blood when I wipe so gutted as tried loads of new things this month. Really feeling lost and frustrated x
