@MgW1 Eugh that's so annoying! Mine was like that last year and it drove me nuts. Must have poas a dozen times! Really hope af keeps away and you get a bfp! 🀞🀞🀞
I'm ok today. Time is going slowly on this 2ww though! Usually I'm ok until about 7/8dpo but I'm only 5/6dpo and clockwatching already! Think I'm just a bit bored in life atm - need to get better at filling my time with stuff other than watching tv and reading stuff about ttc/fertility/babies! πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ i very almost bought a baby towel this morning as it popped up on my Instagram and looked so cute...I'm losing the plot! πŸ€ͺπŸ€£πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Call with the fertility clinic tomorrow so that should be interesting 🧐 xxx

BubsNumber2inTheMaking · 17/02/2021 13:58

@MgW1 how are you doing today? Any sign of bfp or af? Xx

@gracie2307 thanks for your message. Ttc does indeed suck! And I'm so over this whole bloody lockdown! Can't wait for spring to read her lovely head on Sunday 🌸 β˜€οΈ
Nothing planned for next week yet. Just a bit of DIY, a few nice walks and a date day with the hubby whilst kiddo is at nursery. Really feel in need of a break from work tbh. I'm so demotivated! I'm hoping I can go back a bit recharged the week after. I say 'go back' but still wfh entirely...which I love and hate in equal measure! Really hoping AF stays away for you! 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞xx

@sunshineandshowers3 my hubby had a sperm analysis through NHS last year. It was about a 2month wait I think. I'm south London though so I think it probably differs from hospital to hospital. Worth getting on the waitlist though, even if you get a home test in the meantime?xx

Thanks for the message @JeanieJ Sending positive hump day vibes your way today! πŸ’ͺx

Ahh bless our mums, they mean well but I swear to god it was so much easier for them to get pregs! For starters, their generation was so young! My mum and my MIL were both popping out sprogs from age 20 so their eggs were super youthful and didn't have the degenerative effect of age hampering them, and secondly I read an article which said that average total sperm count declined something crazy like 50% between the 1970s and the '00s. It's something like 45mil now where as it used to be 70-80mil?! Which just seems bonkers. For some people, they just get pregnant really easily...but I know that if I stopped trying and only had sex when I felt in the mood, we'd probably only dtd once a month and the chances of that falling at the right time are so slim! πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ FW shaggathon is the only way I'm getting pregs I just know it!

Anyway, on that note, I just wanted to say that we're all doing bloody amazingly and it WILL happen for us. It's just a matter of time. Sending much more positive energy to you all today! Thanks for letting me moan yesterday! You are all awesome 😘xxxxx

Has anyone used the conceive plus applicators? I read people saying there's so much in one tube that you only need half of it but I just used one for the first time and when I squeezed it, it sucked all the air out of it but no lube came out. Then it all seems to come out of the tube in one go on the way out 🀣 I felt like down there was being squeezed into the tube 🀣🀣🀣 People also said it was far too wet and slippery with the whole lot but it didn't feel any different to us. Wondering if I done something wrong lol

Clapham4 · 16/02/2021 21:24

Just catching up! I’ve had the same chat with my mum! Noooo sympathy. She said I always over think things and to get over it, it will happenπŸ™ˆ Tough love! But it helped, I’m kind of...

I’m also WFH and DH goes to work so I spend my days googling TTC and overthinking every twinge 😎

@sunshineandshowers3 so sorry to hear about your wedding and DP’s Dad xx

I’m starting to freak out about another BFN this month, because we can’t try the next 2 months. It’s my brothers wedding next Dec so I can’t be 9months preg or having just had a baby, as I’ll need to travel and get baby passports (yes I’ve already googled how long to get a baby passport and it’s 4weeks) so it means we can’t try again until May 😣

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 19:27

@gracie2307 Great 😊 will look into it. I know it’s a harder problem to fix if the man has a low sperm count so really really hoping it isn’t that, but once again, no point stressing as I have zero control over it! My DP is healthy, slim, doesn’t smoke and rarely drinks so hopefully there’s no problem there.

Well well done for at least sticking with it and giving it a go. Makes you think how long it took some people to pregnant years ago when there weren’t these things to do like OPKs and BBT. Wonder if it was easier then in general as life was a slower pace/on the whole less stressful. My Mum and Nan/Gran all had children by my age- sometimes wish we’d started trying earlier but heyho!

Ah haven’t used conceive plus but I did find preseed quite good to use so will be giving that a go. Do you do the whole lying with your legs in the air too?

Thank you - yes our worst possible year (as I know it has been for so many). Have to try and stay positive and think better times are on the horizon 🀞. I completely relate, three close friends are pregnant and each one seemed to reveal it on the last three months my AF has arrived.

A friend of a friend (who found out she was having her third boy) lay in bed and cried all day because she wanted a girl. All I kept thinking was how selfish when I’d give anything for a baby (as would millions of others!) xx

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 19:09

@JeanieJ I completely get you re: TTC and WFH... My mind is so guilty of just wondering! I've started watching TTC vlogs on YT on my lunch to see if there's any tips that can be learnt but then I'll wind up on a 'Pregnant on the first try' video and regret it πŸ™ˆ

How are things going for you this cycle? Xx

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 19:06

@sunshineandshowers3 Yes you do have to abstain so I would try and time it for around your period/somewhere later in the 2ww. They recommend a minimum of 2 days but no more than 5 if that helps?

Don't worry, I get easily stressed too. I know it can be useful to help confirm ovulation but im just not sure its working for me my temperatures are all over the shop it looks so jagged sometimes even though I take at the same time every morning lying still like a zombie πŸ§Ÿβ€β™‚οΈ 🀣

I ran out of pre seed so didn't use any this month i tried Conceive Plus but I found it really watery and not as good so I gave up on it.

I'm sorry you had to cancel your wedding and the death of close family, that must have been so hard so I can understand why things have been stressful. Its so hard to relax about TTC im trying to get better at it but its a struggle! Especially when more and more of my friends seem to easily breed. Makes me feel like a bit like Jemima Puddleduck, clearly sitting on my eggs wrong... xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 18:56

@gracie2307 Ah okay thank you - I will have a look 😊. Do you have to abstain from sex for a certain amount of time before you do the test? πŸ€”

Not monitoring BBT as I know it would just stress me out (I’m easily stressed πŸ™ˆ). Maybe I should be though...

I used OPKs for about 4/5 months and they didn’t seem to do the trick either. I used pre-seed for the first time this month. Although it clearly didn’t work we’ll be using it again next month too I think.

@JeanieJ Oh gosh I know I’d be even worse if I was WFH, so I completely sympathise. I teach in a primary school so that always keeps me distracted and busy!

Ah similar ages to us then 😊. Yes my Mum thinks I’m overthinking too and that we’re both just too stressed (cancelled wedding last year and death of my DP’s father πŸ˜”) so she may have a point!

Oh love a good podcast - thank you! Listened to Gi Fletchers Happy Mum Happy Baby too.

My AF is never too bad actually. Although I sometimes worry we’re not conceiving as they’re quite short periods (3/4 days) xx

JeanieJ · 16/02/2021 17:18

@sunshineandshowers3
Yeah, it's hard to be patient and calm ... especially during the pandemic and we can't see anyone. I'm wfh and my mind easily wanders to ttc if I'm bored and it's the worst during TWW.

I'm 33 and he's 29. My mum does know that we're ttc, but she's fairly unsympathetic πŸ˜‚. She thinks I'm overthinking it and she's probably right in some ways ... today I got a swab from the doctor & she told me I was overthinking too! πŸ˜‚

Hopefully we all get there in the end. Its just a bit of a journey.

I'd recommend the Fertility Podcast if you haven't listened already.

Hopefully your AF isn't too bad. I always find CD1 & CD2 hard, painful & emotional, but i perk up after a few days. I'm CD7 now and feel a bit happier.

X

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 17:10

Random Q to the group - Anyone tried taking the Conceive Plus Ovulation Support tablets? Been on Wellwomen Conception for a while but im not convinced its done much other than make my pee look fluorescent! πŸ™ˆπŸ€£ x

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 17:08

@sunshineandshowers3 The swimtest kit wasn't too bad it gives a bit of reassurance about sperm quality. We ordered ours from Superdrug!

My friend lives in Bedfordshire but the wait was a long time I think the appt was delayed by a good few months!

I meant to ask are you monitoring BBT or just OPKs? This is the first proper cycle I've tried to monitor BBT as well as OPKs but im not sure how much info im really getting from it and I think its causing me more confusion because I do wake up quite a few times in the night. Xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 16:41

@JeanieJ We started ttc in May last year - so 9 months for us. Glad you got results from those tests and all were normal πŸ™‚. I had my 21 day bloods done at the start of January and they were fine.

We can try and be chill together πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ. It is so hard though and no-one really knows I’m trying. The only person I’ve told is my Mum. We’re very close but she just says I need to relax...which as we all know is easier said than done. She conceived very easily with my brother and I.

How old are you both? I’m 28 and my partner is 30 so feel like we’ve got time on our side (hopefully!).

Xxx

JeanieJ · 16/02/2021 16:09

@sunshineandshowers3 Thanks, we haven't hit the year mark, we just wanted some answers, as we're feeling a bit lost and concerned. The doctor had already run some fertility blood tests on me, as I'd elevated thyroid levels in 2019 that she wanted to check anyway - all normal. I haven't had the 21 day blood test or whatever it's called.

We are on cycle 8 right now - which I know isn't long (but it feels long). I wish I could stay chill about the whole thing, as potentially we could be in for a long run on this.

We're in South London. It's like a postcode lottery atm with the clinics being open or closed.

How long have you been TTC for? Have you had any other tests?

Really hoping everyone get's their BFP soon xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 15:59

@gracie2307 I’m the same - it fluctuates so much. I keep trying to tell myself that we’re not even at the year mark yet and that we’re both (relatively young) and have a lot of things on our side. Easier said than done!

Haven’t heard about the swim test online kit before- may have to google! Which part of the country does your friend live in?

@JeanieJ Glad your partner has got an appointment 😊 what part of the country are you in? Really hope it’s positive news for you πŸ™‚. Have you been ttc long? Xxx

JeanieJ · 16/02/2021 14:29

@sunshineandshowers3 – my DH has an SA booked in for Thursday. I think some clinics are sharing the workload with neighbouring ones – at least that’s what our doc mentioned in case we struggled with getting an appointment – luckily when we called last week, they had literally just reopened and had an appointment this week. I know what you mean about the peace of mind – it’s the unknowing that’s the worst. I just want answers, but kinda feel like I won't get any too!

@BubsNumber2inTheMaking - sorry to hear you're having a down day, it can be really hard and isolating sometimes. xx

Happy Pancake Tuesday everyone!

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 13:59

Its so hard isn't it @sunshineandshowers3 Some days I am the biggest TTC cheerleader, other days I am my own worst enemy. Hope your day isn't too bad despite AF?

We havent had an official SA but we did do the Swimtest online kit which was okay but not as comprehensive as NHS test. My friends partner is going for one in a few weeks time so I guess it depends on the hospital? I know there are big waiting lists xx

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 13:35

@gracie2307 Thank you 😊 trying to remain upbeat and positive, as what’s the point in being anything else? As a control freak I feel I need to make peace with the fact I physically cannot control what is going on in my body (as much as I wish I could!).

A question for everyone, has anyone’s partner had a SA? My partner was due to go for one before lockdown and now the clinic say they aren’t doing them, but I’ve seen on some forums that some people’s partners have been for one recently. My bloods came back fine, I just wish my DP could go for his test as it’s playing on both our minds xxx

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 11:21

Hey @BubsNumber2inTheMaking I'm so sorry you are having a down day too! I think the whole situation sucks and it makes everything about TTC more magnified so when the lows do come about it makes it harder to focus on anything else. Thats nice you have some time off next week what do you have planned? Im cd31, 12dpo I never seem to make it past 12dpo as AF usually arrives but nothing as of yet. Xx

BubsNumber2inTheMaking · 16/02/2021 11:20

@sunshineandshowers3 so sorry AF has reared her ugly head 😞 I had spotting for 3 days before AF arrived last month which isn't 'normal' for me so I totally get how confusing that is. Sending lots of baby dust for March 😘xx

gracie2307 · 16/02/2021 11:19

I'm so sorry @sunshineandshowers3 that really sucks... Take extra care of yourself in light of AF, its always horrible when she arrives. Sending big hugs xx

MgW1 · 16/02/2021 11:17

@gracie2307
Cranps for about 10 days! Sore boobs for about 2 weeks 🀣
@Clapham4 yes fed up here too!! Xx

Clapham4 · 16/02/2021 11:08

Awh guys I think we’re all low today, perhaps the weather?? Sorry to hear of the BFN’s and potential looming periods!
I do think if we weren’t in lockdown TTC would be a bit easier, as we’d have distractions and plans to look forward to!
Im only 6dpo/7dpo (Flo changed my ov date to earlier) and feel out because I feel fine, I keep rubbing my boobs to see if they hurt πŸ˜…

sunshineandshowers3 · 16/02/2021 10:42

@gracie2307 AF has literally just arrived πŸ˜”, so not really sure why I was spotting on and off since Wednesday (I never spot at all so very unlike me).

Hope AF doesn’t rear her ugly head for the rest of you 🀞❀️Xxx
