Age 38 & pregnant

Hi! I’m new here - I believe, I think I could be pregnant. I’m 38 though. I’m wondering if anyone else on here is late thirties and what extra appointments or checks the doctors do due to the later age? Thanks!

I’m 39 - doctor brushed it off when I mentioned my age. Plus I don’t personally know anyone pregnant in my circles that is under 35. It’s totally normal

Hi- I got pregnant Nov 2019 at 37, 2 months before I was 38. Age wasn't a factor in prenatal checks etc- assuming everything else is fine you would just have the normal appointments. As PP said it's over 40 now that is deemed higher risk. Congrats on your pregnancy.

@Sunshine1982flowers211111 congratulations!! I fell pregnant with my daughter at 38 and had her on my 39th birthday. A few years ago I believe anything over 35 and you were considered a geriatric mum but this is now over 40 I believe. If this will be your first child then I believe there are slightly more interactions with the midwife team (although this may have changed with covid) than a second pregnancy.

I had to have a consultant involved but that wasn't standard and was specific to an issue I had.

I would just make sure you are taking some pregnancy vitamins. My GP recommended I take some baby aspirin but I think that was because I had had a MC 5 months before.

I’ve been going crazy continually taking tests to see if the line is getting any darker to see if my hcg levels are rising and I’m driving myself insane with worry about the hcg levels. Any advice??!
