@primrosechill ahh wishing you all the baby dust in the world 🥰🥰🥰. Let us know how you get on. And if it doesn’t happen this cycle, amazing that you will be getting IVF started xxx

Carol1980 · 21/03/2021 21:08

@primrosechill
I've got my fingers crossed that AF stays away x

primrosechill · 21/03/2021 18:26

Hi ladies! Just saying hello, hope you’re all having relaxing Sundays 💆🏻‍♀️

@Bizawit fingers crossed AF stays away today and for the next ~9 months! It’s been a while since we had a bfp on here so we need one 🤞🏼
Keep us posted!

@MrsKin90 sorry to hear your ovaries are being naughty and not giving you many clues as to when you might ovulate - hopefully it’s soon and good luck with your SI!

I won’t tag everyone else but good luck to you wherever you are in your cycle/ttc.

Quick update from me: I’m at CD10 and usually ovulate around CD13 so we’ve SI’d a couple of times already. We also have our IVF treatment consultation booked on Thursday to kick off mild IVF next cycle. I still hold onto some hope that we manage to get pregnant this cycle but mentally started preparing myself for ivf. If we did get pregnant now, my due date would be the same as with my pregnancy last year which sadly led to a miscarriage (16th December). I’m not religious or even particularly spiritual but I do have to say it sends some shivers down my spine to think about it... anyway, we’ll see what happens! I’ll keep you updated and as always thank you for being here, being lovely and offering a place that I can check in every now and then ❤️❤️❤️

Bizawit · 21/03/2021 13:52

Thanks ladies 🥰. @eloiseislost @MrsKin90 I think you are both right- can’t make head or tail of what my cervix is doing, seems to be all over the place. I’ve resisted the urge to check today 😅. We’ll make a pact @MrsKin90 😆.

@Oilyoilyoilgob that’s lovely 💜. It’s true- This group made me feel so much better when AF arrived two days late on Christmas Eve . So thankful for you all. Such amazing news to hear you were able to do it the old fashioned way this cycle 😆☺️. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

14dpo. AF is due today. It usually comes in the evening, so it’s a stressful wait. Currently too scared to go to the loo 🙄🙄😫.

eloiseislost · 21/03/2021 07:24

@Bizawit I have never gotten into checking my cervix, though since we switched to the soft cup SI method, I could tell that during ovulation my cervix was much higher than before -always a slight panic that I will lose the cup. 😆
But after ovulation, the consensus is that it can do all sorts of things and it may even be different depending on the time of day. Go figure!
I never got into checking, I felt it adds unnecessary anxiety. Plus you introduce a small chance of bacterial infection by poking in there, which is bad anyway but even worse if you're actually pregnant.
I really hope AF stays away! 🤞🏼❤️

Oilyoilyoilgob · 21/03/2021 00:38

Well I’m not asleep so @MrsKin90 I’ll stay up chatting semen samples 😂 noooo don’t be jealous, it was just a noticeable difference for me as by now we’d normally be a few days in, so the samples start waning by that point!

So it was quite different to be at peak ovulation with husband holding out for a bigger splurge 😅 no matter the ml amount it only takes one bad boy to swim for it’s life 🤞🏻
On our therapists advice, husband took a viagra before our planned intimate sesh to ease his pressure/anxiety and we actually had sex and he came inside me today. It has been a very (very!) long time since that happened and nice it’s timed around ovulation. Will SI tomorrow but this month has really felt different in a great way without days on end of inseminating.

I wish you the very best over the next few days for your SI and upcoming ovulation 😊

@Bizawit I’m sorry you think you’re getting period signs, I’m hoping for the best it’s not. Big hugs to you, we are here for you to let it all out. Everyone was really lovely this month when I started my period and had a really upsetting few days dealing with it.
We are all with you and here for hugs and kind words 💚 xx

MrsKin90 · 20/03/2021 21:53

@Bizawit I obvs haven't had a bfp but I do follow my cervix around! My cervix has been all sorts right before AF. High and soft and open, low hard open, last cycle when my AF arrived 3 days early I swear it was low hard and CLOSED. I'm sure this isn't possible. I think maybe we all need to learn not to bother our cervix after we ovulate? I'll commit to this if you will 😂 so hard!

This information about semen ml has made me feel better 😊

@Carol1980 With people who get BFPs 6/7/8dpo I'd want to know they were using OPKs AND BBT and even then I wouldn't believe it is very common (although I know it CAN genuinely happen happen!) because BBT is only accurate within 3 days and I've seen charts where people don't pick up their LH peak until the day after their temp rise! I can't believe it's as common as people make it seem so I rationalise the issue away by saying they've probably ovulated earlier than they realise 😂 rightly or wrongly!!
I'm one of those "anything but average" people so I feel you on that!

Carol1980 · 20/03/2021 21:37

@Bizawit
I think low hard and open means AF unfortunately 😢 but ive reads lots on cervical position and apparently it's not a good indicator at all.

@Makingnumber2
You've been through the mill a bit and more ! Take it easy, enjoy the Netflix and before you know if you'll be back at it ❤️ sending lots of love x

Well we took our new spanking cost £40 sperm counting and mobility test....we read it as normal sperm and mobility so that's a plus 😁😁

I'm now 7dpo, my boobs are sore ! But to be honest it's a usual AF symptom for me, although I'm not due AF for about 8 days. I'd like to say it's a possible symptom but honestly I build it up every month and every month I'm wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️

With regards to the amount of 💦that we usually get it's around about 2-2.5 ml I think, we've had once or twice where it was more, but 9 times out of 10 it's the 2.5 ish.

Anyone else hate when you read something online that it always uses 'average' for stuff, the average implantation, the average cycle length etc etc I'm so fed up with average......

Mini rant time....how the actual are people online getting BFP at 7dpo !!! Do they have super HCG ?

Bizawit · 20/03/2021 18:23

@Makingnumber2 aww glad you are getting some dr endorsed bedrest and Netflix ☺️. But sorry about the surgical stockings 😆😳. I don’t remember having to wear them after the surgery?

@MrsKin90 I think 1.5-2ml is normal, that’s pretty much what I get. Maybe it comes out a as little more in “lab” conditions? 😁 But my goodness never had anything like 6!!! I do recommend letting in liquify for longer though. When I do that the volume seems bigger and there are fewer air bubbles..

I’m 13dpo here. Af due tomorrow. Feeling very negative as got all the usual AF symptoms. I’m not going to take it well if / when af comes this month I think 😞.

For all you ladies who have had BFPs- did you check your cervix? Mine feels pretty hard , low and open 🤦🏼‍♀️. Does that mean I’m definitely out, or is that not a reliable indicator?

Only other thing I’m tracking is my RHR which is staying boringly steady.

MrsKin90 · 20/03/2021 18:00

@Makingnumber2 I am consistently shocked by how strong you must be. I'm glad things went as well as they could have. Bed rest and sexy suction stockings?! Hopefully there's also chocolate! (You know, before you get on a healthier eating path anyway!). You're fully entitled to not keep up with the thread ❤️ I'm absolutely rubbish and don't have half as much going on as you do. I used to do a boxer-cise class which was fun! Definitely a good plan to check the gym about before diving in, some gyms have a certain atmosphere don't they?

@Oilyoilyoilgob is it weird that I'm jealous of the big sample of semen you had? 😂 I'm really a bit concerned as hubby really doesn't produce much 😕 usually about 1.5ml up to 2ml but never more than that. It seems up to 6.5ml is normal 😬 and 1.5ml is the minimum "normal".
Hope today's couple session goes okay! I'm a firm believer in the "one for luck" the day after suspected ovulation.

CD14 for me today. I've had EWCM since CD10 and have had cramps and bloating and other O symptoms but low OPK and no movement in BBT so think my body is just practicing 🙄 likely to be CD20 again for me or similar. We will SI tomorrow but haven't planned further than that yet. As OPKs worked so well for me last cycle I'm not actually that worried about doing it until they get darker. Woe is me and my endless wait for an egg.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 20/03/2021 10:06

Hello @Makingnumber2 thinking of you. I’m really pleased that the bleeding wasn’t really heavy for you, hoping your cramps are easing. Enforced bed rest sounds just what is needed and I’m sure you’re getting well looked after. I hope recovery is nice and gentle for you 💚

@MrsKin90 we wait until it’s runny, it was max 10 mins on Thursday. Waiting did the world of good as it was a large sample, we decided to switch it up this month and inseminate for the first time when I got my high opk, rather than in the days running up to it.
Going to try a bit of a couples sesh today so will have a pot and syringe on hand to do it together, then the same tomorrow (I’ll be due to ovulate by tonight but we’ll do the bonus one tomorrow still). Deciding to experiment with less SI this cycle.

I hope everyone is well xx

Makingnumber2 · 20/03/2021 07:42

Thank you @Bizawit and @MrsKin90- everything went well yesterday and I've been pleasantly surprised so far with the minimal bleeding post op. Sorry if that's TMI but I was expecting like a mega period sort of thing. Was feeling quite painful cramps about 8 hours after the procedure but the hospital has given me a fair bit of codeine in case I needed it. I've got some very sexy surgical stockings which I've been told I have to wear for 3 days which have proved to be highly amusing to my DH! And it's bed rest for 48 hours (what a shame...) so I am actually following docs' orders by lazing around in bed bingeing netflix.

How's everyone else doing at the moment? Sorry I've been a bit rubbish at keeping up with the thread this week.
It's great to hear about people's vaccines and also their SI methods.
I'm going to be phoning my local centre and asking if I could go on the list to be contacted at the end of the day if there's vaccines spare due to missed appointments. A head at a school local to me did it and was lucky enough to get a call so I'm hoping I could get lucky too- otherwise I think my age group weren't due to receive until July.

I'm also making plans on how to shift the weight I gained during this first trimester of only fancying plain, beige carbs and stodge to try and boost our conception chances once we start trying again. There's a local boxing gym that's caught my eye that I think I am going to sign up for- they do some women only classes in the evening which I like the look of. Want to go and have a look round though because I've been a gym member on and off in my more youthful days and now I'm in my mid 30s I know I don't want to sign up somewhere where it's poser blokes hogging all the weights' machines and eyeballing any female who ventures into weights section etc. so I shall go and see and make a plan B if it looks like that kind of place!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and best of luck to anyone currently in their FW- bring on the BFPs! xxx

MrsKin90 · 19/03/2021 22:01

I hope everything well well today as well Makingnumber2 ❤️ thinking of you Xx

Really helpful hearing how people are approaching SI! I'm going to take a more patient longer approach to waiting for the semen to liquify. I do usually just wait until it pours but I might wait until I gets super funny. Can't hurt can it?
Hope everyone is ok ❤️

Bizawit · 19/03/2021 20:15

Hope everything went ok today @Makingnumber2 ❤️❤️

AdriannaP · 18/03/2021 11:09

I had a vaccine a few days ago. Did lots of research and discussed with my midwife and consultant. In the end, I decided that it is better for me to have it than not. I also want to travel this year to see my family in a different country (restrictions permitting obviously). I qualified as I am in group 6.
I had AZ and felt absolutely rotten for about 10-20 hours, flu like symptoms, sweating, shivering, headaches. But overall glad I had it. Can’t even imagine being pregnant and having Covid!! My DH also had AZ and he only had a sore arm.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 18/03/2021 09:21

And @MrsKin90 I never planned on telling her at acupuncture but I just thought, if I’m coming here to hopefully help then I might as well be brutally honest.
It did help because I phrased it as we do this in the run up and during ovulation to have as best a chance as possible, I didn’t go into any mention of husbands Ed/de xx

Oilyoilyoilgob · 18/03/2021 09:19

For ours it’s very similar to @Carol1980. We liquify for 10-15 mins, I have my legs up and two cushions underneath my bum to tilt me up then I plunge down very slowly then bring myself to orgasm.
Going to switch it up today (got a static smiley on clear blue this morning at last) and do it around lunchtime, with the big splurge (😂) and I’m going to hopefully bring myself to orgasm 2-3 times then insert a softdisc until bedtime.

This will be the first time we’ve done it so close to ovulation and not in the run up to it. Then we’ll SI tomorrow night and Sunday night.
At my individual session of therapy with our psychosexual therapist he suggested making it a bit more intimate. Doing our intimate time together with husband ejaculating into a cup during sexual touching, then helping me orgasm with the syringe in. Must admit that feels weird to think of, but his suggestion came about as I was honest 1 to 1 with him and say that I sometimes feel angry and frustrated that he can’t finish inside me yet.

I never show this to my husband and even just reading this thread it’s obvious it’s a common thing. Also I don’t fancy having to have sex for days on end to conceive and like that our intimacy still feels intimate but there are times I feel frustrated about having to SI. Such is life!

I’ve had several reflexology sessions, must admit I struggled as I’m really ticklish but she was good and used a firm pressure to try and stop my tension around tickling.
At the time it tallied in with my adrenal glands, my back and my sinus points. In the end I really started to enjoy the sessions and I’ll definitely have it done again when I’m able to.

I find already I’m looking forward to next week for my acupuncture, it’s so nice to feel there’s a bit of time for me in the drive there and back. I put on classic fm and really just immerse myself in switching off!
Hopefully we’ll all be little balls of relaxation and that will help us conceive 🤞🏻🙏🏻💚

Carol1980 · 17/03/2021 21:21

@Sydney1986x
Some of my colleagues who are in the age bracket have it, and some front line have gotten it simply due to health centres contacting the office to say they have left over which would otherwise go in the bin so have offered it to who is on shift, my job at the moment isn't in an office, I'm actually doing a different role in my job where I'm surrounded by kids ages 11-18 every day x
I was totally up for care workers being offered it, but when I hear of folk who are in offices bit having any contact with the public it totally baffles me 🤷‍♀️but who knows x

@MrsKin90 I've discussed the SI with a friend who's husband has MS and they also have issues with delayed ejaculation too so I told her what we were doing, but she wasn't too sure her hubby would be up for it, we haven't had long conversations about it though so the only people I can actually discuss in detail with is all of you ❤️
So I'm beyond thankful ❤️

I know that the question was asked a couple of days ago about how people are doing the SI so I thought I would share ours.

Hubby goes upstairs, he gives me a shout when he's done ( I can't be in the next room as it totally puts him off) we get the syringe ready, tub is then put either beside me or between my legs to keep it warm for about 10 mins to liquify, the. I slowly draw it up in to the syringe, put it in and try to angle it to where my cervix is, and slowly push the plunger, then I try to O and raise my hips and legs, I try to O a couple of times to try to get my cervix to dip in a few times 🤷‍♀️

I know that using this method we have gotten pregnant at least once ( September last year) but unfortunately that ended in MC, early one x

MrsKin90 · 17/03/2021 20:41

@Sydney1986x cross posted with you 😊
Nice that this thread is giving the alternative medicine society a nice boost of income 😁. I'm a bit more hesitant about reflexology. Someone I work with has started training in it but I can't get over the idea of somebody regularly fiddling with my feet. Although I think they can do it on hands too?? Will be interested to hear how you find it if you do either/both! I do wonder if I feel too skeptical to benefit 😬 trying not to!

MrsKin90 · 17/03/2021 20:38

I'm annoyed it's not been rolled out to all emergency services. 😕 Which I'm sure you all are too. I hope you get it soon. I'm definitely thinking better to have it than not. Known risk Vs unknown potentially non existent risk of having it. Definitely not worth extra stressing over it as that won't help!

It's nice you reached that point with SI. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to say it outloud to anyone. I can't even being myself to tell the doctor. I'm glad this option is available to us or we'd be totally screwed, but it fills me with sadness that we have to do it this way. 🤷 When we get pregnant though I don't think I'll care at all how I got there.

Sydney1986x · 17/03/2021 20:37

@Oilyoilyoilgob I am feeling more human now thank you and hubby to be cooked a delicious roast so gobbled that up as my first meal of the day this evening!

You made me chuckle when I read about one big splurge, why not eh?!

Just to say, you’ve inspired me to look into acupuncture, it sounds like there are a wealth of benefits and I’m glad you had a relaxing positive afternoon.. you deserve it!

I’d love to try reflexology too one day!

@MrsKin90 no problem 😀 hope it’s useful!

If you or anyone else is interested Here’s a link to another piece of info about a baby testing positive for anti bodies for covid after mum being vaccinated: wrex.com/2021/03/16/report-first-baby-born-with-covid-19-antibodies/?fbclid=IwAR3SpPG7gdwGn_6szA1Za78FLsVjLUhS7AD9_wJrhtgU9dxd-2rfhiw20rQ

It’s obviously a personal choice and don’t want any of you to feel I am ramming this down your throat 💚

@Carol1980 that’s shocking you’ve not had your vaccine yet, have any of your colleagues had it? That’s not dramatic at all, it’s a very real reality at the moment and our feelings are totally valid around it.

I think many men struggle to ‘finish’ with sex for a number of reasons. I believe it is much more common than we are led to believe and although there is medically no reason for either of us to SI it takes the pressure off and allows sexual to feel passionate/ or other intimate things without a sole aim of ‘getting pregnant’ which is naturally a passion killer due to the pressure.

Very thankful I’ve found this website and all of you ladies 👏

Carol1980 · 17/03/2021 20:04

I'm emergency services but not NHS and haven't been offered it yet, think I'll just need to wait until my age group is in the roll out 🤷‍♀️ is what it is and I'm trying not to stress too much, I've always been as careful as I can be and I'm definitely not going to put it off even when trying to get pregnant, I think it will be safer for me to get it than not and risk being very sick and not there for my daughter x sorry to sound very over dramatic

You know I remember when I started my SI journey and part of me was me was embarrassed about the way that we were having to get pregnant, like it would be something that I always kept in the back of my mind and always feel a bit off about it.....after a year and quite early on I felt so different about it, I can pretty much guarantee that my hubby will 💦 doing it manually but can't ever guarantee that he will 💦 when we have sex, so I think that put it more into perspective for me 😁

MrsKin90 · 17/03/2021 19:18

Thanks @Carol1980 😊 definitely good to have a break every now and then. I've had the vaccine through work as I work within the NHS, I didn't have any side affects after. Hubby has his also (no idea why he was eligible), and he had the Oxford one and didn't have so much as a sniffle the following day. He did feel quite tired about a week later but that could have been as a result of me talking and moaning so much 😂
I've got a friend refusing to have it as she wants a baby but I know Eloiseislost had it before getting pregnant and I've done loads of research into why people are worried about it and why they shouldn't be etc. And I'm confident in my decision to have it. My second jab is in a month. Do you have pregnancy tests in the house? I find not having any is a good way of not testing otherwise the temptation might be too strong!

@Sydney1986x ooh I'd not heard that about it passing on good things to a baby! 😊 Thanks for sharing that.

@Oilyoilyoilgob it is super hard! I am trying to feel more positive though as all this negativity and jealousy and "will my friend get pregnant before me" anxiety can't be doing good things for my eggs! Community acupuncture was £25/30 and the one I've got is £55 then £45 per session I think. Which is about what I've seen around.
Sounds like you had a much needed reflective time ❤️ hopefully it does wonders!

Oilyoilyoilgob · 17/03/2021 16:28

@Carol1980 don’t worry too much about the low sperm reading, typically it’s waiting 3-7 days since he last ejaculated for a reading (the stuff we end up knowing from ttc!)

@Sydney1986x oh that sounds awful, I hope you’re feeling a bit better now? Urgh rotten enough having your period let alone being ill from it.
Yes I thinking (hoping!) that’s the reason my lh hormone isn’t showing, by now I’d have normally had a super dark test line. I did a clear blue ovulation today and it just showed the circle. So we haven’t SI yet as husband wants to do just 2-3 this month as a test, normally we do loads. Think he wants to save it for one big splurge 💦😅

@MrsKin90 don’t ever ever apologise for feeling down or pissed off. I still feel it too 😂 but this thread ultimately is about conceiving in a hugely unconventional way, with varied results so I actually never expect it to be full of women happy every single day, because most days we’re tracking, inseminating or waiting. It’s bloody hard.

I feel I’m better on this thread burying for 2/3 days then checking in-takes any pressure off 😊 The graduates idea is a great one! Hopefully we’ll all get on it too 🤞🏻 I’m cd16 now.

I’m delighted to see you’re booked in for acupuncture! That’s a shame re the community one, I hope the price difference isn’t too much.
You’ll be in a lovely private room though, getting looked after and a good thorough consultation, it just makes you feel ‘heard’ about fertility. I found that in itself a release. I was honest and said we inseminate during ttc. Felt good just to say what’s what and hope it can help.

If you drive there what about putting on some lovely music on the way there and back? Treat it as some lovely and much needed you time ☺️

I’m just back from mine, did a stress relief/hormone one today. Just felt a little sting on my big toe one but apart from that I had 30mins to sit with my thoughts. Thought of my lovely departed darling cat, focussed on my beautiful happy memories of her-it was a wonderful 30 minutes filled with love 💚

I hope you get some time until then to relax and take care of yourself xx

Sydney1986x · 17/03/2021 16:16

@Carol1980 Hey, I’ve had my vaccine (Astra Zeneca) end of jan and due my 2nd dose mid April. I felt quite poorly afterwards but it was gone within 48 hours. Ironically I caught COVID just under 2 weeks later but didn’t feel too poorly, I strongly believe the vaccine in it’s infancy helped with that. There is also emerging evidence from a study in Israel showing positive results in passing on protection to unborn baby x
