@MrsKin90 definitely not bossing anyone around I really appreciate it, I would be the type that wouldn’t test then could potentially miss the early care you get and then be moaning on here about it.

It’ll be my first ever time pee’ing on a stick and I turn 39 in end of February so who knows Flowers

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 11:03

@MrsKin90 Aw bless, don't get too excited, I have a feeling it's not my month! But thank you for your confidence! ❤️
Also, I personally very much like being bossed around by you, wouldn't have it any other way! 😄

OP posts:
MrsKin90 · 26/01/2021 10:53

@eloiseislost that's a really good RHR rise. I think it's a positive sign. I'm quite excited for you 🤞❤️

@ComebackQueen don't let me tell you what to do! 😱 I feel I'm bossing everyone around telling them to test when I adamantly refuse to test myself 😂 hypocrisy.

That's interesting! I get lots of bloating and cramps I blame on my PCOS and often think I can feel cysts popping. This got worse when I started taking Myo inositol, which is meant to help balance hormones, so I think it could very well be your acupuncture having an effect. Hopefully that's a good thing overall as it can't be a bad thing to get rid of them!

ComebackQueen · 26/01/2021 10:34

@MrsKin90 ok I might do a test on 1/2 Feb for the sh*ts and giggles.

I was Googling though people that have really bad bloating around ovulation and PCOS may also experience the bloating until AF if more cysts have formed. I’ve had to have cysts removed in the past via laparoscopic surgery so these symptoms are probably a sign my PCOS is getting worse or the acupuncture is triggering/forcing the hormones to balance and I was warned it would get worse before better.

I have no nausea, no metallic taste and no bleeding.

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 10:27

@MrsKin90 I wish I could wait until tomorrow morning, but let's be honest, I'll probably just hold my pee and do it in the afternoon! 🤡
My RHR shut up today, but I have no idea if it means anything or is just the stress and terrible sleep. In the screenshot, the purple line is the pregnancy cycle (and you can also clearly see the miscarriage 😔) and the orange line is where I am now. The other 2 lines were unsuccessful cycles. At least I'm kind of consistent overall, but today can go either way. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@eloiseislost I hope you managed to get some sleep in the end! Fingers crossed for your pregnancy tests. Will you wait until the morning to use one? 😊 If there was a line then it should come up better then?
My RHR on Fitbit is being confusing. It's gone back down to 66 from 68. Usually it stays up fairly consistently after I've ovulated, making its way up to 70 and plummeting on AF day from 70 to 67/66. 🙁 Too much to wish for that it's an implantation drop and I'm half expecting AF to start tomorrow now.

@ComebackQueen it's so hard to know isn't it when you're not tracking. I'm tracking with BBT and still none the wiser 😆 everyone is always saying AF symptoms and BFP symptoms are the same so it's hard to know! If I were you I would do a test if no AF by 1sy February maybe? I don't trust pregnancy symptom lists 😁 they're constantly telling me I have all the pregnancy symptoms and all the AF symptoms at the same time. They can't be trusted so don't be disheartened by them!

ComebackQueen · 26/01/2021 09:08

@eloiseislost pregnancy and chocolate definitely sounds like a plan.

Good luck testing and hopefully this is your month!

@MrsKin90 i know for fertility treatments acupuncture is recommended but because I’ve just started for my cycles. I’m confused as hell. I woke up this morning with no extreme bloating, no twinges in my boobies or back ache and no sign of AF. She’s due on 31 January or 1 February on a 35 day cycle. Maybe I only ovulated a few days ago and I’m back to my 45+ cycles.

I need to probably invest in ovulation strips and really start charting to avoid this.

Last few months my cycle is c35 days so maybe because of my uti/kidney infection it’s stressed my body and the acupuncture actually induced my ovulation.

This is all so weird, I did do a quick scan of early pregnancy symptoms and I have none so won’t be testing, as I wouldn’t have SI in the induced ovulation window.

Oh well, we live and learn as they say.

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 22:09

@MrsKin90 Thank you for your kind words, I know exactly what you mean. I had actually discharged the patient prior to her falling ill, but her mum contacted me to let me know about her passing and thank me for providing the care that I did when she was alive, I couldn't stop crying after this phone call. Lovely family that has been more than its fair share of suffering for this life and possibly the next. It's hard to do the job that I do and not genuinely care. It comes with immeasurable joy but also sadness.

It's been one of these days I guess, now I'm lying in bed unable to sleep even though my body is knackered.
Chocolate and pregnancy test sounds like a solid plan for tomorrow! 💁🏻‍♀️🍫 I'll keep you up to date and provide entertainment with my shenanigans! 😂

OP posts:
MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 21:48

@eloiseislost if it was my family member, I'd be touched to pieces and so happy that you'd been caring for my relative and felt grieved by their loss. I know it's a funny thing to say but I think it's really lovely you feel it so strongly and care so much. It would have been a great comfort to them. I think throw some chocolate into the basket tomorrow next to the pregnancy tests lovely. Chocolate and tests go together like carbs and wine 🍷

@ComebackQueen really interesting that acupuncture can have such a strong effect on cycles. People really rave about it but I've always been skeptical. It's a bit fascinating how it works!

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 21:19

Thank you @MrsKin90 ❤️ I spoke to my line manager and she reassured me that it's OK to be grieving even though the relationship was professional, it was a relationship and a bond nonetheless. This helped a lot.

@ComebackQueen LOL at "shark week" 🦈 I hope this is not what's happening but I couldn't help but giggle at the term. Your DH sounds very caring! 🙂

OP posts:
ComebackQueen · 25/01/2021 21:11

@MrsKin90 my lutheal stage is usually between 14-16 days but acupuncturist did say my cycles will be even more confusing before they settle.

Hahaha, the husband uses going to the supermarket to get them as a break from me when shark week starts lol! Been in a foul mood, just want AF to rear her ugly head and, then plan for next month.

MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 20:57

@eloiseislost loads of big fat hugs ❤️ that's really heartbreaking. Carbs and wine are amazing, but make sure you also decompress. Do you get to talk it through with anyone? A manager or colleague? What a tough day for you. That's awful xx

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 20:28

@MrsKin90 I don't want to get my hopes up because I feel like AF is arriving which I didn't at all when I was actually pregnant, but maybe I will include a test in tomorrow's shop… because I'm a glutton for punishment! 😄

It's been a difficult day, one of my patients passed away from COVID and it hit me quite hard. As much as I am a professional, some people just have a deeper impact on you and their loss feels quite upsetting.
I won't lie, I had some wine and allowed myself to eat pasta 🍝 so I'm feeling a bit better. God I love alcohol and carbs!!

OP posts:
MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 19:49

@ComebackQueen how long is your luteal phase normally? I am sorry if AF appears early. Well done to your hubby for going out for sanitary pads 😂 I'm not sure mine would know what to get. I dread to think what he would come back with!

@eloiseislost a bin line is much more of a line than I've ever had so fingers so tightly crossed they turn blue 🤞🤞 lol I'm usually so sensible but if I had a line (even if it appeared a day later after coming out of the bin and being held up to the light) I'd probably test again the next day 😬

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 17:41

@Lori23TTC I'm here to entertain like the clown that I am 🤡😂
The thought crossed my mind but I don't have another test at home (I shouldn't even have these but they were a quid for two and I caved 😆). I fished yesterday's out of the trash (yes, I went there 🤢) and I think I saw the same kind of line. Clearly they have indents where a line would be if the hormone is detected and that's why after they are bone dry, you can see a shadow. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If AF is late, I'll order a packs of FRERs.

OP posts:
Lori23TTC · 25/01/2021 17:29

@eloiseislost oh Eloise you do make me laugh bless you... I know this is prob the wrong thing to say but do you have another test to try and you can check after the 5 mins they advise to see if it’s the same? I’m sorry you have been feeling crappy too 😩 Monday blues.

@MrsKin90 sounds interesting but makes my insides feel funny just thinking about it 🤣 that’s so unfair about you not being eligible for the treatment... hopefully it will happen naturally for you soon anyway 🤞🤞 xx

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 17:23

@MrsKin90 There is definitely a complicated interplay between inflammation and implantation. If you think about it, the uterine lining has to be thick for successful implantation and inflammation causes white cells to accumulate which cause thickening, much like on a skin wound. Very interesting indeed! I'd be afraid of the potential for infection, but I'm sure if they are offering this, the risk has been properly assessed.

F@ck me, I made the mistake of testing again with a Tesco 20mlu cheapie this afternoon, dipped the test, cleaned up and left it there and forgot about it. When I came back an hour later, I could see a hint of a line, like a shadow. And I know that the test is invalid after 5 minutes and this is an indent and I'm now I'm in a spiral and I hate myself for being so stupid with obsessive testing!
CAN SOMEONE BAN ME FROM AMAZON, EBAY AND ALL UK PHARMACIES AND SUPERMARKETS PLEASE? 🤣🤣🤣

OP posts:
ComebackQueen · 25/01/2021 17:05

@MrsKin90 that must be the case then, as these are all my usual AF symptoms and I even sent the husband out to go get me some pads because shark week is about to commence. It’s weird though around ovulation I usually bloat up and get headaches and have EWCM which I had CD19/20 but then again I’m not the best at this type of stuff.

I’ve either ovulated earlier, or I have a short stage, I forgot the word for it.

MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 16:24

@Oilyoilyoilgob I agree, the thought of having to do that after all of this is heartbreaking. But I suppose at least more "normal" in that people talk about things like iui and IVF more openly? I'm sorry you're still struggling, maybe your back aches because you're weighed down by life a little? 😇 And not even remotely AF related? 🤞

@eloiseislost I can understand why you still feel so disheartened about everything. I thought the theory behind uterus scratches, although sounds awful, was interesting. The theory is they put two "scratches" to aid implantation by causing an immune response I think and increases the likelihood that an embryo will take but you can also have it done and then try "naturally". I'd never heard of it either but the fertility clinic nearby does it. I think it depends on the clinic or the locality but BMI of 35 or sometimes 30 is needed! So you can still be overweight but I'm over 35 🙁 I was under it not that long ago but have gained 3stone in a year. Hormones, stress, grief, lockdown, TTC, too much baking! I've got an endless list of reasons really. I have been being super good the last few weeks and gained half a pound for the effort 😂 ovulation bloating I reckon. I'm having my covid vaccine tomorrow and I'm hoping a secret side effect is weight loss?!

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 15:39

@Oilyoilyoilgob Thank you ❤️
Trying my best to relax a bit, I feel like I've been hit with a fresh batch of hormones today!
Again, I'm so sorry about your girl but I am glad her sister is still with you a giving you much needed comfort. 😻
I know what you mean about fertility procedures, I think because we already have to be unconventional by using SI, our tolerance for even more intervention is low. I pray AF stays away and you get a BFP instead! 🤞🏼

OP posts:
eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 15:35

Thank you @MrsKin90, always a soothing voice of reason ❤️❤️❤️
I know I should feel encouraged by the fact that I got pregnant on the 3rd attempt previously and in a way it is a glimmer of hope. But then, that pregnancy didn't last long and the fear of history repeating itself is immense. 😞 I guess there is such a spectrum of struggles in the TTC community, some get pregnant quickly but it doesn't stick, some take a long time, others take a long time and it doesn't stick… My heart aches for every woman and couple who struggles. 💔

Wow, never heard of uterus scratching, sounds wholly unpleasant! 😧
I didn't know the NHS had a weight restrictions for fertility treatment, that doesn't sound fair but I guess it is what it is. And you're right, people generally don't magically lose weight, especially if it is under the "threat" of not receiving vital treatment. I know when I'm anxious I raid the fridge, so how do they expect people who TTC (a hell in its own right) to lose weight or else they are denied support? Sorry about the rant, but the pressure on women is bad enough as it is, we don't need any more, thanks! 😠

Oilyoilyoilgob · 25/01/2021 15:31

Oh my @MrsKin90 you are right. My head isn’t right, I feel like I’m in a smog. So yes that would be right then. We SI up to weds 13th January so we’ll see. I’m ok thank you. Still some crying, I’m really grieving as my cats are my little buddies and babies all rolled into one. Her sister is getting lots of love and is a great comfort to me.
Apart from the massive spots, I have rotten backache-I think my body is gearing up for a period. I know what you mean about other medical options and (sorry to be negative nancy again!) I just feel pissed off and gutted at the thought. I just want to conceive naturally and for once have a sliver of stress taken away 🙁

@eloiseislost don’t worry about grumpiness/negativity. I hope you’re ok. Totally normal as it is with any hormones and pile ttc on top (especially in an unconventional way) then there’s a recipes for some days or weeks to hit hard. Take care xx

MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 14:51

Sorry you're feeling potential AF grumpiness @eloiseislost, it's really hard isn't it? I was looking at iui, IVF and something called "uterus scratching" yesterday. And although interesting had a huge cry about it as I see that being us and unless I magically manage to lose enough weight we'll never be eligible for that. The reality for you is though that you did get pregnant after three cycles (that's right isn't it?) So that's super positive and suggests it'll definitely happen for you❤️ Although easier said than believed I know!

MrsKin90 · 25/01/2021 14:47

@ComebackQueen I hope AF doesn't come and you get a nice surprise. If AF does arrive early that must suggest you ovulated earlier than you think?

@Oilyoilyoilgobif did you get your positive OPK on CD12? If so maybe you ovulated CD14 which would be 'normal'? Sorry about your spots, they sound awful! Luckily I never seem to get proper spots, but I do get a red rash on my cheeks that comes and does depending on where I am in my cycle. Although I can't quite remember when I usually get it so it doesn't help 🙄 I should writ these things down. How are you feeling?

@Makingnumber2 that is weird! Maybe you always ovulate from your right side?! 😂 A question based on no scientific evidence at all.

eloiseislost · 25/01/2021 14:44

Hi everyone!
@primrosechill I'm sorry AF got you, I'm not far behind you, I'm sure she'll get me tomorrow or Wednesday and I'm already gutted about it. 😞 Another IUI sounds like a good plan, takes away some of the hassle of SI. I'm sure you'll get your BFP one way or another, you just have to stay strong. We all do! 💪🏼

I keep reading about statistics and how the vast majority of couples eventually conceive and have a live birth but there's also a part of me that thinks "But at what cost?" I don't know how long I can live in the seemingly never-ending rollercoaster that is TTC. I wish I could just enjoy intimacy with the man I love without thinking of eggs, sperm, OPKs and soft discs…! Wow, I have my negative hat on -yet another gift from PMS!! I'm 10DPO today and I have the unmistakable signs of AF approaching: massive drop in RHR, cramps, backache and epic grumpiness. 😖
