@eloiseislost eekk that sounds promising for you! When will you next do a pregnancy test?

Yea it is disappointing as I’ve felt more like I could be this month with the symptoms I’ve had which I’ve not had on the other months but I feel good so I’ll wait to see what happens! I’m not due AF until the weekend xx

eloiseislost · 27/01/2021 09:04

@Lori23TTC Sorry for the BFN, even when we know it's early, it still hurts a bit, in my experience. 😒
The light pink spotting sounds promising, I have my fingers crossed for you!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Good morning!
In today's update: AF due today (12DPO), BBT 37°C and another positive OPK with FMU 😐 RHR calculation pending 😁

How's everyone doing today?

OP posts:
Lori23TTC · 27/01/2021 09:02

@MrsKin90 sorry you have headaches but good thing you have had the vaccine and like Eloise said the symptoms should be short lived.

@eloiseislost haha no you are not a bad influence it’s nice we were around the same time in our cycle to chat about it! I took a test this morning but BFN - I think I’m DPO10 but I could be out a few days so still early. I might do one tomorrow morning to. This cycle i weirdly had brown spotting on DPO6 & 7 and on 8 it was pink but nothing since, thought it was implantation but who knows anymore my body never does the same thing twice! X

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 22:17

@MrsKin90 Didn't know much about it other than "when the OPK is positive, time to get the soft discs out" but I tend to obsess over irrelevant things when I'm anxious about something else, so now I know more than I will ever need to know about LH! 😂
I'm sorry you had a stressful day.
Headaches are also listed in the side effects but they are short-lived. See what your BBT does in the next couple of days if you are still temping. Any side effects from the vaccine will be gone in 48 hours, so hopefully after that any rise 🤞🏼 will be down to something else 🤞🏼 🤞🏼 😉

@Lori23TTC I feel like I'm a bad influence on you! 🤣

MrsKin90 · 26/01/2021 22:01

@eloiseislost that's really interesting! Not what I expected to see based on what people say, but I'm a novice on LH levels. 😊 Thanks for explaining! I got the pfizer vaccine this morning! Will be interesting to see if it does make a difference to my rhr or not, not that I'll be able to tell if it's a normal reaction to hormones or the vaccine, I'll just not get too excited either way 😆good to know you didn't get a fever or anything as I've been feeling headachy all day since but have had a stressful day!

@Lori23TTC I'm excited for you that you're nearing the end of your tww 😊 do you think you'll give in and test a bit early?

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 21:04

@MrsKin90 The horizontal dashed line is the threshold of the OPK tests, the solid line is LH levels and the other dashed line is progesterone levels.

That's a good question about RHR and the vaccine! It's hard to say what happened with me, because I ovulated the day after and my RHR always shoots up the day before and the day of ovulation! I didn't not get a fever after the vaccine which can apparently be a common side effect so I'm fairly confident that my RHR was unaffected. Did you get yours? Was it the Pfizer?

OP posts:
MrsKin90 · 26/01/2021 20:50

@eloiseislost I can't make heads nor tails of that picture 😂 why does each little graph have three lines? You won't find any testing with me! 😊 I won't test unless my RHR goes up by like 10bpm 😁 oh what did your RHR do the days after you had your vaccine? Just in case I get inappropriately excited!

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 19:39

I found an article that's been quoted in many as the gold standard on LH patterns and has a nice diagram with the most common patterns of LH throughout the entire cycle in order of frequency (A being the most common and H the most rare). Maybe G and H approach/reach positive between CD20-25.
I don't think I'm pregnant anyway but I have found a new fascination with LH to keep my mind off things! 😆
I don't think I'll waste a digital tomorrow, but if AF doesn't show up by the end of the week, I'll crack one open for sure!
Is anyone else testing any time soon? Fingers crossed for many BFPs this month!! ❤️

Bluey18 · 26/01/2021 19:28

@eloiseislost Oh I am really hoping you get your BFP after that lovely positive OPK. I agree with MrsKin, while OPKs can detect pregnancy hormones its not unheard of to get a positive before AF either, not sure why exactly but I've heard of it happening a few times. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! xx

MrsKin90 · 26/01/2021 19:16

@eloiseislost it's still likely to go either way 😊 maybe try not to read too much into it? What sensitivity are the week indicator tests?

@Lori23TTC the theory is that if you take an OPK when your period is due and it is incredibly positive, it can sometimes be picking up HCG. However, if this is the case it's also likely to show on a pregnancy test (apparently), but it's nicer than not wasting a pregnancy test if you need to pee on something! OPKs sadly can also be positive before AF so it's a bit of a double edged sword!

Lori23TTC · 26/01/2021 18:16

I would also say that surly that’s a positive sign they are so dark!!! 🤞 @eloiseislost

Lori23TTC · 26/01/2021 18:10

I’ve never heard of taking an OPK before AF is due?? Is this a thing?? I’m DPO9 (I think) might test in the next few days (I don’t normally) I want to get involved in the peeing on sticks that’s going on xx

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 17:49

I think this is more likely to be an LH surge @MrsKin90 because, now that I think about it, sometimes when I start with the OPKs on CD10 the line is darker than CD11 and 12 and then starts getting darker again. 🤔

OP posts:
MrsKin90 · 26/01/2021 17:46

@eloiseislost I haven't read through the most recent posts but yes and LH surge before AF is a thing! But that doesn't mean anything as a surge before a bfp is a thing as well 😊

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 17:43

In tonight's episode of "Things Eloise has peed on"… another equally dark OPK.
I might keep testing just to see what will happen! I wonder if this is an LH surge before AF, is this a thing, does anyone know?
**@Oilyoilyoilgob* & @Makingnumber2* Thank you both so much for your kind words. 💝

I might do another OPK later just because peeing straight into the toilet bowl is so 2019 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣

That OPK line is looking great.

Last day of AF for me I think. Going to try temping this month 🤞🏻

ComebackQueen · 26/01/2021 14:04

@Makingnumber2 I’m glad it reminded you, I should also follow up with my gp now as this will be the first time she’s going to deal with this as previously my other GP was the one handling this issue.

@Oilyoilyoilgob thank you and yes, baby dust to all, let’s get some BFP for everyone this year Flowers

Makingnumber2 · 26/01/2021 13:58

@eloiseislost I have read the same about OPKs and hcg! That is a really decent line and the fact you're in the TWW means it can't be LH it's detecting... And FWIW I have done OPKs when I've run out of HCG cheapies and I have never EVER got any kind of line, not even a hint, NADA.
Keeping EVERYTHING crossed for you when you test tomorrow morning! [Grins]

@eloiseislost so sorry to hear about your patient. The care and compassion you gave would’ve been so appreciated by them, making them feel safe when unwell. Big hugs. Good luck for testing tomorrow, that opk stick looks interesting 😃🤞🏻

@ComebackQueen here’s hoping AF stays away and you get to do your first poas next week too-crossing fingers for you!

Aww I really do hope we start seeing a flurry of 2021 positives, I’m keeping very hopeful xx

eloiseislost · 26/01/2021 12:46

OK, shopping done! ✅
I found the CB digital with weeks on offer and couldn't resist. But they say to use FMU if testing early so I think I'll be sensible and wait until tomorrow morning. Due to my POAS addiction, I decided to use an OPK because I've heard that they can sometimes pick up hcg. This is what I got, it's not a positive but the line is darker than my baseline for sure. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm very crampy, I could swear AF had arrived when I was out, but turns out it was just CM (TMI 🙈).

@eloiseislost so sorry to hear about your patient- the fact you cared so much is testament to what an amazing healthcare worker you are, and what a comfort for that family to know that whilst in hospital their precious family member was in such good hands. I'm glad your line manager was sympathetic and could give you some words of comfort too. That heart rate increase is pretty impressive!! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you!

@ComebackQueen you mentioning about cysts and painful ovulation has reminded me this is something I need to get followed up. I was suffering with horrendous ovulation pains when I came off the pill 3 or so years ago, coming off it for the first time in 10 years. I had just been referred for a scan to look for cysts when I got my BFP with my DD. I still went to the scan appointment as I literally got the BFP the day before and they refused to scan me. My ovulation is often very painful, feel super bloated, get really sharp stabbing pains on and off including (very embarrassingly) ones that I can feel in my bum to the extent it can be painful to be sitting down for 20 seconds or so. I will ring the GP today although I imagine with covid I will be lucky to get a new referral anytime in next 6 months (not their fault but just way it is).
@MrsKin90 I hope AF stays away- keeping everything crossed!
