Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!

Kay00 · 16/01/2021 20:33

As the Post Pill Party fills up, the lights are dimmed and the music drops a beat. The lead singer of this rambunctious band shouts: Mosh Pit!! The ravers all storm for the small space in front of the stage allowing their bodies to dance to the beat however the f* they want!! You go ladies!!

This is the 7th post pill party thread for women whose bodies aren’t quite dancing to the expected rhythm: we have delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs!

In the crowd I can see:

@Kay00 It wasn't a lot, and I haven't had anymore since this morning. I dont think I can be sure I've even ovulated looking at my temperatures. I'll attach my chart and last months full chart too.

@MissC07 thanks, it's so hard as I think we're all so in tune with our bodies now, that we know when something isnt right. I'm so glad I've found a place where people understand 🙂

@Juno231 I've seen the cartoon before and its perfect. I also love the essay "She divorced me because I left dishes by the sink" www.huffpost.com/entry/she-divorced-me-i-left-dishes-by-the-sink_b_9055288?

I am aghast at the counsellor (I'm a type of therapist myself!). Sticker charts are great for 5 year olds, not 35 year olds

Cams50 · 22/01/2021 16:16

@Juno231 that chore chart suggestion is ridiculous on so many levels omg haha 🙈🤯😂

Cams50 · 22/01/2021 16:15

@Emmgrem your chart is my dream chart!

@MissC07 and @crabette a peak OPK is great! I think the control line looks light so the test line is matching that. Crabette hope you can DTD another time 🤞🏻

@Kay00 sorry about AF but at least this crazy cycle is over and onto the next with the soy isoflavones. I’m also going drink tonight and get a pizza. Third day of light bleeding here which is normal for me. I’ll have this for days before proper heavy AF which makes it so dragged out. So annoying. I’m calling today CD1 as it is red blood although still very light so who knows not sure if it is.

@Juno231 sorry that you’re feeling down. You’ve had a tough year. I also live away from all my family so it’s very hard plus ttc and everything else.

I completely agree that women bear so much of the burden of ttc with opks, temping, vitamins, etc etc let alone the emotional turmoil. No wonder it makes us ‘crazy’!

I haven’t told anyone we’re ttc (my mam knows I came off the pill so probably assumes but hasn’t asked) and it can be very lonely. We get a lot of ‘when are you having kids jokes’ and little do they know how hard I’m trying.

Juno231 · 22/01/2021 16:09

@kay00 yes one of my guilds must be close to 50/50 in terms of gender but you'd never know when talking to people.

Get this ladies - we did couples counselling a few years back and the MALE therapist suggested maybe I'd need to make OH a chore chart? (so... putting that back on me again?) and I made a comment about "and then what, give him gold stars too?" and he legit said that would be a good idea ahahahahahahah.

Kay00 · 22/01/2021 15:55

@MissC07 Oh yes, your +OPKs have come just as your temp has really dropped, perfect. Hopefully ovulation is today or tomorrow and you see a nice big temp increase!

Kay00 · 22/01/2021 15:53

@Juno231 Thats an excellent cartoon! Soooo true! that's how I spent 4 hours doing chores last night... once I started I kept finding things to do, other thing's appeared! My OH doesn't 'see' any mess/dirt and is just downright bloody minded when I ask him to do things. It really isn't fair. As the 'household manager' its also my job to manage all the renovations/DIY/workmen etc. And I work full time of course!

Ahh, so glad to hear from another gamer... Grin Grin I think lots of us are probably into gaming, but ladies don't often talk about it. This is my second DnD adventure with a mixed guys and gals group and its so much fun!

MissC07 · 22/01/2021 15:47

@ChinChilly 😂 Mine is known for the 'show and tell' once he's done some cleaning too! Or if he's cut the grass he makes out like he's the next Alan Titchmarsh and needs to sit down for the rest of the weekend!

@Kay00 thanks! I'm also tracking my temp too, have attached my chart below. I'm hoping something is happening but who knows!

@Juno231 I think that article sums it up!!! How accurate!

Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!
Juno231 · 22/01/2021 15:23

@MissC07 don't overthink it - jump on OH!

@kay00 @TheDaydreamBelievers @ChinChilly Thank you ladies, it helps that I'm not alone in this! And I have the household chore emotional labour too so there's definitely an element of every small thing piling up.

Check out this comic if you haven't seen it before, it just really, really hit the nail on the head for me when I read it years ago - I think it's brilliant!

www.theguardian.com/world/2017/may/26/gender-wars-household-chores-comic

@kay00 love that you play DnD! FIL used to be a dungeon master but I've never had a chance to play it. I am however a massive gamer so no judgment from me lol Grin

Kay00 · 22/01/2021 15:05

@MissC07 I think those OPKs are looking good and positive! Keep testing in case you get a stronger one, but not everyone gets a blazing 150% every cycle. Are you also tracking your temps to see if this LH surge results in Ov?

@ChinChilly haha!! The idea of your OH proudly showing you around the house to see the work he did made me laugh out loud!

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 22/01/2021 14:46

@TheDaydreamBelievers @Kay00 😂😂😂 my OH is exactly the same and if I do tell him what he needs to do he says I’m nagging! 😂 and the odd occasion he has cleaned the house while I’m at work he walks me around the house to show me everything he’s done. Men really are a different breed!

MissC07 · 22/01/2021 14:39

@Juno231 sorry you're having a tough time at the moment. Men are just useless!

@FlyingGiraffe hopefully it's not AF! We all need a rant sometimes though so rant away!!

CD22 for me and I've head peak on my OPK's! Although I'm stressing because it's my new box of OPK's so I keep thinking they are faulty- the lines don't look as dark as some of the other peaks on here 😫

Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!
Kay00 · 22/01/2021 14:24

Urgh the men. They can be pretty useless. I spent four hours doing housework last night before I started a DnD sesh with my mates in the evening (I know, i'm a massive geek...!). My OH had one job. ONE JOB. The washing up. Did he do it? No. The reason... 'there isn't that much to do'... well, it was a full load. So tonight he will have to do two loads Grin.

When it comes to TTC... he doesn't even like me to mention it, and if I bring it up/ask for help/ask him to take a supplement or god forbid ask him to cut down on coffee then he just says 'fine, we won't have kids then'!! Sad

This is why you ladies are an absolute life line. Honestly!! Love you ladies!!

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/01/2021 14:04

I'm sorry @Juno231, I didn't mean to make you feel worse! It's definitely a tension point that comes up between me and DH about cleaning ("Oh if you tell me what needs done I will do it"... USE YOUR EYES) so I was just trying to say I share your frustration.

Its been a hard year for everyone but a blooming hard one for you. I hope things go on the up in 2021

ChinChilly · 22/01/2021 14:01

@Juno231 sorry you’re having the same argument over and over with your OH there is nothing worse than that!

I don’t think men realise how difficult it is but then again I don’t think we help ourselves, we put so much pressure on ourselves to get pregnant quickly. I’ve put so much pressure on myself that I start to question if having a baby is really what I want. I don’t think the COVID situation helps with everyone’s mood either, I’ve never spent so much with OH before especially in isolation ( he gets serious ants in his pants, currently jet washing the patio in the freezing cold) 😂😂

Juno231 · 22/01/2021 13:34

@TheDaydreamBelievers spot on - but whenever I tell him it's not my job to do those things for him he either says I'm making a mountain out of a molehill and it's not a big deal to just tell him xyz and that it is me actively trying to punish him by not proactively telling him things.

Gah it's genuinely gotten to the stage with this argument (it's been going in since April!) where I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have kids with an idiot like that. But then considering I've had no luck in 14 cycles and I've finally got a fertility appointment in Feb - if I leave it now I doubt I'll ever have kids...

Sorry for being a debbie downer! Just not having a great time overall atm.

Kay00 · 22/01/2021 13:29

@FlyingGiraffe Sad oh no, it is a lot of spotting? It could be ovulation spotting. Do you have a chart you can share?

OP posts:
FlyingGiraffe · 22/01/2021 13:21

Totally agree with everyone here. I've had a bit of a crap morning as I had spots of red blood first thing and I've only just had my peak opks two/three days ago. My DH thinks I'm just obsessed with reading about ttc and that I'm stressed, but it's so hard not to be when things like that happen. He doesn't understand that spotting potentially 3 dpo isnt normal...that's if I've actually ovulated at all because my temperature is still not that high. I feel so stressed about it today and my stomach still feels really 'heavy' like im about to start AF. Sorry to rant Sad I just wish my body would play ball and i really hoped it was starting to behave! @TheDaydreamBelievers I'm with you on the feeling down generally thing. I've definitely got a case of lockdown fatigue!

Nellieee · 22/01/2021 13:06

@crabette @TheDaydreamBelievers @Juno231 @ElizabethP141 @MissC07 Girls it's like I wrote all of those posts. So true!! All of them. We do all the emotional side of things, the planning, the temping, the pissing on sticks, taking supplements, ENDLESS research etc etc. One little thing they have to do (and they have the cheek to roll their eyes). And we are also involved in that bit we need them for, too!

Rant away!! Silly manchilds.

Ps crabette I would just take advantage of your opportunity at lunch!

Kay00 · 22/01/2021 12:11

@TheDaydreamBelievers haha!! I wondered if I might have hypothermia too Grin

I am having spotting, so pretty sure I am starting my period. Horray! Its a Friday, so i'm going to have a hot bath, lots of wine, chocolate and watch a movie in my fluffiest PJs Grin

I will start planning which days to take my Soy Isoflavones too... I really hope they help bring my ovulation forward!!

@crabette sorry to hear you and your OH have fallen out Sad. Its such a stressful journey, and really very normal for you both to feel this way. I hope you are about to make it up with each other... by this afternoon Wink!

OP posts:
MissC07 · 22/01/2021 12:07

@crabette you're definitely not being a dragon!! I'd still jump him today if you can whilst he still said yes. You can ignore him for a week afterwards or refuse to do the dinner or something😂

MancMama39 · 22/01/2021 11:38

@crabette @Juno231I can so relate... I get that OHs feel pressure to perform, but then as I sit there forcing a multivitamin down his neck, while I count out my seven seas, omega 3s, CoQ10s and probiotics, taking my temp, POAS, logging on 3 different apps, checking TTC forums, checking cm every time I wipe, checking my cervix, drinking decaf, dreading AF.... I think hmmmmm we have it worse!

That said, I say jump on him Crabette, can always make up later haha

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/01/2021 11:24

@Juno231 it's also the same as so many other areas of live - when he is saying oh tell me what I should know and what I should care about, he is casting you as the supervisor/manager of the work around TTC and actually adding to your emotional labour rather than taking away from it. It's also not genuine interest - genuine interest would be asking small specific Qs, googling stuff, saying "I dont get this bit, do you get this bit?". Sorry, not meaning to slag your spouse, just saying it must feel so frustrating!

@crabette yeah I actually cried this month when DH was too tired on O+1 and O+2. Even though we had DTD O-1 and O day. Its such an emotional orocess!

Juno231 · 22/01/2021 11:09

@crabette I 100% get you! On the bright side you're definitely covered by the O-2 and O-4 DTD.

I had another infuriating argument with OH the other night where I was saying it's very lonely this TTC malarkey and it's hurtful that I keep asking him to get more involved but he still doesn't bother. He ended trying to flip it on me, saying I should get HIM more involved and tell him stuff. When I point out that I've done it plenty of times in the past and it ends up being me just telling him things and him not absorbing any of it he just conveniently ignores that part of the argument! Gah I could have killed him. Oh and it's not enough for me to say that I think AF is coming and it's another dud - I need to spell it out as "I am sad now because of this, please give me a hug". What the actual FECK

Anyways. CD6 here and AF was annoyingly long, I think it's only just finished/is finishing. Maybe I'm reverting back to my teenage periods pre AF?

@ElizabethP141 to answer your EWCM question - I start getting it around 5 days before OD. It's triggered by oestrogen though so much like the CB blinking smiley you could have it 8 or so days before your peak.

@Kay00 open mouth maybe? I'm so sorry your chart isn't doing anything productive this cycle :( How's the inflammation, when will you hear from the docs?

@TheDaydreamBelievers fingers crossed those temps pop back up!

@ChinChilly my granny had the squits from covid and my mum's been hit with those the last few days. Not sure one which orifice I'd rather have problems with when sick tbh! Hope you recover quickly. Would be a fun story to have though if this was your BFP cycle!

Sorry if I've missed anyone - trying to catch up on 3 pages worth as I often go quiet over AF...

crabette · 22/01/2021 10:46

As a side note, I've never caught a peak with an IC before, but always do them in the afternoons, as per the instructions? Where the CBs say you should do them first thing, with first pee of the day.

So I got CB peak yesterday morning, and they say once you've had a peak result for the month you should stop testing, so I just tried the IC for curiosity this morning! Maybe should have been doing the IC's first thing as well.
