Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!

Kay00 · 16/01/2021 20:33

As the Post Pill Party fills up, the lights are dimmed and the music drops a beat. The lead singer of this rambunctious band shouts: Mosh Pit!! The ravers all storm for the small space in front of the stage allowing their bodies to dance to the beat however the f* they want!! You go ladies!!

This is the 7th post pill party thread for women whose bodies aren’t quite dancing to the expected rhythm: we have delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs!

In the crowd I can see:

Debated sharing this but have to tell someone and I'm already neck deep in the tmi so what the heck..... read about using menstrual cups to... ahem.... retain the product inside for longer post DTD. Have a moon cup I bought ages ago but never used as preferred the reusable pads instead. So popped it in last night for the craic. Fully aware theres no scientific support that this does any good at all but couldn't find anything saying it could do any harm either and there's a fair bit of anecdotal stories out there so yeah....

Anyhoo.... all grand and dandy and everything stayed where it was for the night. But lads.... the horror of trying to get it out this morning! It was welded in! Imagined myself showing up to the ED as a "foreign body in the vagina" case 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 half an hour of googling different methods of breaking the seal and extraction, three positions, lots of relaxing breathing and "bearing down" (maybe that'll be good practice.....) later I got it out. It won't be going back in again I can tell you!!!!!!

Anyway I'm a bit shook and really appreciating the fact that we're working on an EOD schedule cause there's nothing going near me for the rest of the day but figured if there's even one of you having a bad day who needs a laugh it's worth sharing.....

Moocher90 · 28/01/2021 11:10

@Kay00
If I put higher temp in my chart for tomorrow it doesn’t move and remains the same. If I put a lower in below the cover line at 36.10 it removes the cycle. However above cover line still stays the same

Gracie2021 · 28/01/2021 11:05

@ChinChilly have you thought about temping vaginally instead? I'm dreadful for the mouth open so skipped mouth temps completely. Only been temping a week vaginally but getting a very even pattern that way. And.... this might be tmi.... it's so handy I fell back asleep mid temp check the other morning 😂🙈 chart looks great. Have the fingers crossed for you. Have a good feeling!!!

@crabette @Juno231 such a coincidence our guy got rescued by a recovery vehicle about eleven too. We were otherwise occupied at the time 😏 so missed it all. Just saw the text after from my family next door who saw the lights on the laneway. Never even heard it going on. Don't know if I'm proud or embarrassed but priorities right?! 🤷‍♀️**@crabette** all fingers and toes crossed that this is your cycle!

@LauraT94 definitely significantly lighter. Hope you get that BFN soon and can have some closure. Mind yourself xx

MissC07 · 28/01/2021 10:41

@ChinChilly your chart looks really good!! Fingers crossed for testing at the weekend (or earlier as you have a surplus of FRER's 😂)

@LauraT94 It's good that your tests are going the way you need them too. Hope you're doing ok.

@Moocher90 I'm cd28 too and my chart is all over the place even though I had peaks too, so I think I'm having an anovulatory cycle 😞. I'm trying to chill out and take the 'whatever will be will be approach' but it's definitely harder than I thought! I hope you an answer one way or another soon!

Kay00 · 28/01/2021 10:37

@moocher90... If you put in higher temp for tomorrow too does FF change your crosshairs to CD26? And if you put in a lower temp (below coverline) does it remove all the crosshairs all together?

OP posts:
Juno231 · 28/01/2021 10:29

@Moocher90 hm that's odd that it has. I'd say your chart looks anovulatory so far I'm afraid :/ I'm sorry you're having a temperamental cycle this time!

Moocher90 · 28/01/2021 10:25

So FF gave me solid cross hairs this morning however earlier when I thought I ovulated! I do not think it is correct. If AF doesn’t get me as I’m CD28 today and don’t have a clue how long my cycle will be as last cycle was 19 days I will test on my days off on Tuesday or weds. I’m working up until then. My cm is stickier and white and my cervix fluctuates from lower to higher throughout the day depending on when I check.

Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!
Juno231 · 28/01/2021 10:21

@LauraT94 agree with @ChinChilly - feels weird rooting for a weaker test :/ How are you doing with it all?

ChinChilly · 28/01/2021 10:05

@LauraT94 your temps are definitely going in the right direction and your tests are much lighter! Its so wierd to be hoping for a BFN for you soon

ChinChilly · 28/01/2021 10:04

@LauraT94 @Juno231 I used the adjuster and that came out as 36.85 so I’ve popped that in (attached) my RHR has finally started doing something aswell.

@crabette we’re definitely due a few more BFPs on this thread! Fingers crossed your B complex is working...hopefully leads to a BFP for you!

@Gracie2021 ha that's funny - my friend had the same with their sainsburys delivery last night! I actually did a double take when I read your post. Hers got stuck in the mud path past her house, having ignored the notes where she said where to turn off. He actually had to wait for a recovery vehicle to show up at 11pm at night...

LauraT94 · 28/01/2021 09:56

@Juno231 ooh interesting. Another 'only time will tell' situation I suppose! Even once is good enough 🤞🏻

@ChinChilly have you tried doing a temp adjuster on the second temp to see what it is compared to the first temp? Something like this mymonthlycycles.com/bbtadjust.jsp

My pregnancy test was slightly lighter again this morning though only marginally (and doesn't look it on Femometer!). But I think temps are looking good and heading in the right direction at least 🤷🏼‍♀️ pregnancy test again on Saturday and will keep doing OPKs in the mean time x

Juno231 · 28/01/2021 09:52

@ChinChilly I'd maybe use the 36.96 as the base for a bbt adjuster and put the adjusted temp in...

crabette · 28/01/2021 09:51

Hiya ladies, just doing a huge catch up here.

Thanks for your story @Elsie2021, I love a BFP story in this thread! Really good to hear about how long things took you to get back to normal post-pill too.

@minipilling I totally know what you mean with the Covid angst. I’m not in a high risk bracket, but I’m pretty sure I have the respiratory and cardio health of a 60 year old; I’ve lived a highly sedentary life since I was about 12 lol and have been to the heart clinic a few times, as I take palpitations etc. I just decided we’d already put off TTC last year, and you can see on this thread how long things can take, so I didn’t want Covid to take anything else from us. For me personally I don’t want to put life on hold with so much uncertainty going on, feel we did that enough last year! It is a personal decision though and I totally get how you might feel differently depending on your own health circumstances. I also know tons of people who’ve had babies through this and the care has been great - to be honest I’m more concerned with getting Covid while pregnant and the additional health risks of that? But hopefully we are on the home stretch, and I think that’s more precautionary than anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also completely agree about the scaremongering about how easy it is to get pregnant!! I dunno if we are all just super fertile at 16 lol but they should be teaching this in school.

@ChinChilly fingers crossed for you for Sat!! (Or tomorrow? 👀😂) I have good vibes for this month, hope we get a few BFPs. 36.96 is a great temp!!!! I can’t wait for your test ☺️

@Juno231… fantastic news that your OH brought up FW and DTD!! Hopefully a sign of sharing the load a bit better moving forward ☺️ Hope your OPKs play ball now!

@Gracie2021 I nearly fell off my chair with your tesco delivery man story 😂 Hope he got out and you kept your date!!

Quick update from me - 6DPO today. I’ve been absolutely awful at temping this month - I basically haven’t done any! - as OH is working weird shifts just now and keeps coming home and waking me at odd hours. I tried a temp this morning when I got up, but it was 3.20am lol, and I had 36.26. I usually temp around 6am, so did an online converter (first time I’ve used one!) and it came out at about 36.59? Which would be good for me 6DPO, my temp is usually back down after O quite quickly, and my cover is only 36.2. Hopefully that’s the B Complex working!

ChinChilly · 28/01/2021 09:40

@Juno231 depending on what my temp does I might break and test tomorrow.

Attached charts with both temps, i prefer the one with 36.96 😂😂 I guess I should keep the lowest temp on there?

ChinChilly · 28/01/2021 09:32

@LauraT94 I’ve put the lowest one for now but not sure whether the change it or not 🤔 I did try and wait for abit before taking it again but I must of fell back to sleep 😂 I may break and test tomorrow depending on what my temp does LOL

Juno231 · 28/01/2021 09:26

@ChinChilly omg stahp!! I can't wait for Saturday and your test Grin

@minipilling ah that sucks that the big O brings you more pain! How cruel is that. Our team assistant has horrendous endo so I really do feel for you after seeing how much pain she's in all the time. As for the weight... I've got a stone or two I could give you? Grin

@LauraT94 hm idk - my temps are def potentially indicating ovulation on CD9 but I've had this scare before where I then have an even bigger temp shift for actual ovulation. So I'm hoping it's all false alarms so far! If not then at least we managed to DTD on my bday which was CD7 so a little bit covered lol.

LauraT94 · 28/01/2021 09:17

@Gracie2021 thanks, I'm feeling a lot better now! Ooh yeah I suppose that could be the reason for the price shooting up - I also wondered if Brexit might have had a difference too!

@minipilling thank you. Oh I didn't realise you suffered with endo - can totally understand why coming off the pill is an even more difficult decision then! There are so many unknowns at the moment as it is.

@Juno231 do you think you might have missed an early O? Did you manage to DTD at all leading up? Maybe just an early LH surge. What's your chart saying? Regardless, I'm shocked and pleased for you that hubby initiated some baby making!!

@ChinChilly that sounds like an exciting temp! I don't know what I'd mark that on my chart as haha! Sometimes if I wake up with a dry mouth/if I think it's been open, I'll try to close it for 15 mins or so and temp again but it's hard to stay awake!! Are you still going to hold out until Saturday to test? I got a BFP at 11dpo you know 😜

ChinChilly · 28/01/2021 07:53

So my temp this morning was 36.66 again but I think I may of been asleep with my mouth open as my mouth and throat felt really dry so I went back to sleep for an hour, I checked it when I woke back up and it was 36.96??

@minipilling I think it is a really individual decision based on your own circumstances, my risk factor for covid is really low but if it was higher I might feel different. Do what’s best for you ☺️

minipilling · 27/01/2021 22:13

@Juno231 definitely the plan! weirdly last time I did it the day or so before, and that seemed to bring on the pain? No pain DTD or anything, but I had an orgasm which can sometimes mess about with my ovary pain (I have ongoing scar tissue pain from my endo surgeries and cyst removal). So that gave me a huge flare. Really not looking forward to being pregnant and the scar tissue stretching! Wish my insides could be normal.

I forgot to add I'm also underweight/low BMI. Which doesn't put me in good stead for Covid or for pregnancy. So I am working to gain weight but it's a long slog. During my flare last month I could hardly eat so I weighed myself, then this month I've eaten normally and added extra snacks. And I lost two pounds! I think it was because I was able to be active and do housework again. Driving me mental.

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 21:58

@Juno231 The Oh is on the ball. That's brilliant! I always get some EWCM around then too then it goes away for a day or two abs comes back properly around day 14/15. Kind of a precursor.....

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 21:47

You couldn't make this up!! Tesco delivery man stranded in the lawn outside the house. Out all evening with the OH, dad and brother trying to get him out. Now he's waiting on help to tow him out and it's already nearly 10pm. Parked right outside our bedroom window. Does he not realise I have a date to keep!!!!! 🙈🙈 on a human note feel very sorry for him and can't even invite him into the house with covid but also really frustrating as he was going too fast and we have a massive turning spot so there's no excuse. Rage!

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 21:46

@minipilling if ovulation is that painful don't force yourself to dtd then - the three days leading up to it are super fertile so you could easily just stick to those xx

Well I'm CD11 and darker opks from a few days back have gone blank again and my ewcm has disappeared too. OH shocked me and brought up that FW starts today and that we should dtd!!! So at least that's done ☺️

minipilling · 27/01/2021 20:34

@ChinChilly it's good to know your friend feels safe with her scans! at the moment even anecdotal stories help Grin

@Kay00 my cycle seems to be back like clockwork but I'm not 100 per cent sure, I had ovulation pain as expected on my predicted date though I didn't check my OPK on that day (because of the excruciating pain!) I had sex last cycle 1 day before suspected ovulation but nothing came of it, and unfortunately I couldn't have sex again because of the pain and nausea. I'm hoping that my ovulation pain this time isn't as bad because it's really hard to get through, plus my other endo symptoms when I'm off the pill (I need progesterone to feel human). So I'd love to get pregnant right away if possible, if only the hospital situation weren't so dire! Such a dilemma.

@Juno231 Luckily I haven't heard anything too bad about local care, I live in Sheffield so would be using Jessop Wing which isn't far from me. They had some of the strictest visiting rules last year which wasn't great but at least it was keeping things safer.

@LauraT94 I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been so difficult. I'm really hoping the vaccines has a positive effect, I'm just worried since they aren't proven to reduce transmission.
I'm considering staying off the pill as you said, just hoping my endo symptoms aren't too awful otherwise I'll have to go back on for a while unfortunately. It's such a juggling act! No need for condoms as I have zero energy for sex right now except if I'm TTC! DH is very kind and understanding!

@Gracie2021 I agree about pregnancy scaremongering! I've had friends fall by accident and wonder how! My SIL decided to have a second child and fell in the second month, she has never had any losses either. It beggars belief when I consider how many women struggle.

Thank you everyone who replied, I still need to consider the situation and maybe chat to my GP about my personal risk level but you've made me feel a bit better.

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 16:52

@Juno231 sorry to hear it. It really does cause such stress in a relationship doesn't it! The weight of all this really does fall on our shoulders most of the time as well. I've had the tired thing a couple months too and it's the pits cause it's not a nice feeling that you're pressuring someone into something that you're both supposed to want. This is the first month I've had any kind of firm ideas when O will happen so told him he's up to bat EOD from today. He might get a shock this evening if he hasn't remembered 😂🙈
