Hi All

I’m about to start my TTC journey for baby number 2 and I am so so so so excited. 😁 is anyone else starting their TTC journey too? Would love to have some ladies in the same boat. ā˜ŗļø

Just folic acid, very cheap on Amazon!
Interested to know if anyone recommends anything else?

Sparkles512 · 10/01/2021 16:47

We are trying for our first!
We did start trying the end of 2019 and then when covid hit we stopped, but we started trying again in November 😊
I'm pretty useless at the ovulation sticks, not sure if I just don't do them at the right times or if it's because they're cheapies but never seem to get a positive ovulation stick.
Going to try and make sure I do them every day this month and hopefully read them properly.
Fingers crossed for you all šŸ¤ž

@MrsE95 hi, please can i jump on this thread. Im back TTC this month aswell. Had a misscarriage in december, started trying late oct so haooened quick. Im scare because of the misscarriage but just have to keep going. @Fifi1086 like yourself i have an 11year old and unplanned at 20. Also new to this so took me a while to find a thread.

Have any of you bought any supplements to take while TTC? Xx

Nats7504 · 10/01/2021 16:13

Hey ladies. Can I join please? I’ve copied my intro from another group cause it took me so long to bloody write šŸ™ˆ

My name is Nat, I’m 36 (37 next month šŸ™ˆ) I have 2 boys from a previous relationship aged 13 and 10. I’ve been with my partner for 3 years (he has no children of his own) and we’ve decided it’s now or never really!

I had my coil taken out in October as it had been in for 5 years and my partner got all excited. He’s been desperate to have a baby for a few years but I was a little more hesitant due to being a single mum when the boys were 2 and 4, it was hard work! But after losing my mum in November and miraculously my partner is still around after putting up with my erratic mood swings and at times diva behaviour, I thought, fuck it! We’ve been careful up until I got merry at Christmas (most of it if I’m honest) and was like, it’s fine.. crack on! Now I’m waiting to see if my period comes on Friday and secretly symptom spotting and pissing on pregnancy sticks daily, even though I know it’s too bloody early. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Good job I do the banking cause it’s a more expensive habit than my wine.

Anyway, enough of me rambling! Hope you’re all having a fab Sunday!

glow92 · 10/01/2021 15:50

@MrsA9 I just got a cheap box from Amazon.
Some people testing multiple times a day in the fertile window... I just want to use them for the first couple months once a day to work out when my window is and roughly when it peaks. You can record the levels on most apps I think!
There's always one pink line, and the darkness of the second line is what your measuring... you're at your peak when the second line is darker than the one given.

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

MrsA9 · 10/01/2021 15:44

@MrsE95 it is #1 we're trying for. I already have a stepson but so excited to be trying for our own (also absolutely bricking it!)
Are we all recommending opks then? What exactly do I do with these and what does it mean? I know the general gist of it tells you when you're ovulating. I so wanted to be relaxed about this but massively tempted to just go for it now šŸ˜‚
I'm using the Ovia app but obviously only got 1 AF logged so the fertile week it's given me will likely be a stab in the dark

glow92 · 10/01/2021 15:38

Pill* šŸ™„

glow92 · 10/01/2021 15:36

@MrsE95 as I'm a bit naive to it all my my pull has stopped my stopped for the majority of my adult life I have a few as the date predictions seem to vary slightly.. my fav I think is Premom, then I have the free version of Flo and Ovia - I don't intend to keep them all it's just interesting while I'm getting settled down!

xTinkerbell · 10/01/2021 15:35

@MrsE95

Ah that’s really good to know! Hopefully that was the case with stopping the pill and my cycles will be a bit more regular from here on out.

With number 1 I didn’t go through all this. Stopped the pill a few months before we planned to actively try with the attitude of if it happens it happens and it happened the month after my first AF so didn’t have to think about it at all.

I think if I’m worrying I’ll maybe try OPK’s for a month or 2 to reassure myself then go with the flow. I’m using the ovia app to track cycles but mainly because i forget when my period is due rather than using it to track ovulation. That makes sense so thanks for that advice ! :)

glow92 · 10/01/2021 15:32

@MrsA9 exciting stuff! I was very surprised also 28 days exactly but I'm trying not to get carried away assuming it's going to be clockwork after just one month... who knows!
Going to use some cheap OPK's from this week just to see when/if I'm ovulating as I know it might take a while to settle down properly.

xTinkerbell · 10/01/2021 15:32

My partner would prefer a girl.

I would love another boy but would also love a girl. So I honestly don’t have a preference

MrsE95 · 10/01/2021 15:31

Hi @xTinkerbell and welcome 😁 when I spoke to the doctor about my implant removal she said you can ovulate just a few days after contraception removal which would explain your shorter cycle after your pill stoped. ā˜ŗļø

I know for me when I was trying for my first I was so anxious and convinced myself I wasn’t ovulating properly so started using opks for 2 months which really really helped ease my mind 😁

Last time I had removal in Late October. Let things get back to normal in November then used opks dec and jan and I actually had a chemical pregnancy in January then BFP in feb without opks and I think that only happened becuase i used them initially to find out my cycle as I’d been on contraception for 6 years before then. ā˜ŗļø

Good luck lovely xx

It really would be amazing @MMG21 but I believe everything happens for a reason so if it doesn’t then better things to come 😁

Oh goodness I already feel sooo anxious about the gender of our second. We both really really want another girl and can already feel the gender disappointment of we don’t. Obviously if we have a boy then we will love him unconditionally but if we could choose we would love another girl. šŸ™ˆ

Anyone else got a gender preference? šŸ’–šŸ’™ xx

MMG21 · 10/01/2021 15:25

@MrsE95 I am using Flo app atm x

MrsE95 · 10/01/2021 15:22

Also ladies, what apps/trackers are you using to track your cycles? I’ve completely forgotten what I used last time šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚ xx

xTinkerbell · 10/01/2021 15:16

We are TTC number 2. Stopped cerelle on December 10th, had a 1 day bleed on the 15th then the 28th had what I assume was AF so been DTD every other day since, trying to avoid OPK’s in case I get obsessive but I’m already worry so much.

Scared because I was basically 18 days between stopping the pill and AF and it just seems so short. Scared my cycles are going to be all over the place and it’ll take ages.

MrsE95 · 10/01/2021 15:14

@MrsA9 did you say this was baby no1 you’re trying for? If it is I’m even more excited for you now!!! I think you’re allowed to be super obsessive with your first so get those opks bought. šŸ™ŠšŸ˜‚ I’m a bad influence sorry šŸ™ŠšŸ˜‚

Welcome @MMG21😁 how amazing would it be if you got your second BFP around the same time šŸ˜

@Bells890 welcome to the club. It is such an exciting journey! Are you trying for your first? I never used the clear blue I just es used the opks and kept them next to each other on a little chart to track the line darkening. I’m sorry I don’t know about the clear blue one.

Good luck this month ladies ā˜ŗļø The 20th for me can’t come quick enough šŸ˜ xx

Bells890 · 10/01/2021 15:03

Hi all - I've just found this thread. Totally new to this but we're planning on TTC this month. I've bought the Clearblue ovulation kit. This might seem like a totally stupid question but do you just wee on the stick once then throw it away and use the next one? x

MMG21 · 10/01/2021 14:54

supposed to say DD is 9 im 29, we will be 10 & 30 in October**

MMG21 · 10/01/2021 14:53

Same here stopped pill in December had withdrawal bleed 22nd-27th Dec and DTD ever since no idea when AF is due, theoretically 19th Jan but who knows. My DD is 9 in 29 30 and 10 in October so it'll be 10 years on 16th Jan when I had my BFP xx

MrsA9 · 10/01/2021 10:46

@MrsE95 I've added and removed them from my basket more times than I'd like to admit šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø really determined to just take it easy though, we'll see! I've ordered cheap pregnancy tests and started taking folic acid and that's about it so far xx

MrsE95 · 10/01/2021 10:30

I’m the same as you @glow92 I’ve been either pregnant or on the implant for the last 9 years so have no idea what my cycles are like šŸ˜‚ hoping since I’ve kind of had a regular period with this implant that it’ll quickly find a rhythm. šŸ¤ž hopefully yours does too!

@MrsA9 hoping they do settle down quickly for you šŸ¤ž oh goodness I am absolutely the same. Last time we were trying I was obsessed!! Temps, opks, times Baby making time it was crazy šŸ˜‚ we’ve both decided that it wasn’t fun for either of us so we’re going to be chill and just let it happen this time but I’m already starting to feel my obsessiveness sink in... I have some opks sat in my Amazon basket as we speak šŸ™ŠšŸ˜‚ xx

OP posts:
MrsA9 · 10/01/2021 10:26

Ooh @Glow92 I'm 2 days behind you, my last pill was 9th December and just coming to the back end of first AF. Cerelle stopped my cycle completely too so I'm surprised it's happened bang on 28 days after all the horror stories I've read!

MrsA9 · 10/01/2021 10:23

Thanks @MrsE95! Not sure if it's just wishful thinking that my cycles will have settled down straight away but we're going to go for it anyway. I thought for the first month at least I'd take a relaxed approach and just see what happens, so no opks, temping etc. Although I can see me getting very obsessive very quickly so we'll see šŸ˜‚
