Hi All

I’m about to start my TTC journey for baby number 2 and I am so so so so excited. 😁 is anyone else starting their TTC journey too? Would love to have some ladies in the same boat. ā˜ŗļø

@Sparkles512 let us know how you get on if you do test on Sunday!

@MrsE95 how exciting! Good luck for getting your implant out, I hope everything settles down quickly for you so you can get cracking!

@NannytoMummy this whole process seems to be a waiting game! So frustrating isn't it. When are you due to test? This is our first month trying for #1 and only just into my fertile week according to Ovia so lots more waiting to go

MrsE95 · 17/01/2021 21:26

@glow92 hopefully if that isn’t it it comes in the next couple of days šŸ¤žšŸ™

The March/April thing is kind of the approach and thing we’ve said too. šŸ’–

I definitely think that’s the right way about it @Amyt92929292 otherwise it is just so disappointing. šŸ˜ž I did like to test on the day in my period though rather than it being late šŸ˜‚

@NannytoMummy no no I think that is a very very wise move I love it!! šŸ˜šŸ˜ I’m looking to do the same with a double buggy šŸ˜‚

I’m finally feeling very excited! Finally got all my anxieties about work (only on a temp contract until august), money worries and a possible Christmas baby worry out of my head thinking, f it lets just go for it and super excited! šŸ˜ I haven’t even started trying yet getting my implant taken out on Wednesday, eeeekkkk xx

@MrsE95 haha thanks, it's just such a little rise isn't it šŸ˜ž most screenshots I've seen from the same app show well over 1.0. Will keep testing the next few days, might be longer cycle.

I think I'll still try March/April but maybe a more relaxed approach? Wouldn't want to miss a chance if my journey isn't going to be as easy as I'd like!

NannytoMummy · 17/01/2021 21:06

@MrsA9 yes currently in the two week wait now! Time never felt so slow šŸ˜‚ we only started trying 2 months ago, I came off the pill in October.

@Sparkles512 I am also forever adding baby items to my shopping baskets and leaving them in the wish list! I did actually buy a cot today šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø a friend of mine was selling a Ā£450 cotbed for Ā£40 practically brand new as she cosleeps with her little one. Going to pop it in the garage until the time comes 😃 am I crazy? šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤Ŗ

@Amyt92929292 if only we knew when it would be!!!! Life would be so much easier and less stressful. I keep trying to tell myself "it will happen when it's meant to happen" all will work out. But really I just want it to happen now šŸ˜‚

How is everyone feeling? How long has everyone been trying?

Amyt92929292 · 17/01/2021 21:02

I'm really strict now about not testing until my period is due or late, I find that when I've tested early and got a bfn I get disappointed but still stay hopeful that it just was too early to show up on a test, and then get disappointed when AF turns up so I get disappointed twice! Easier said than done though!

MrsE95 · 17/01/2021 20:59

I’m totally with all you ladies here!! Welcome new ladies and especially those trying for their first babies! I remember how frustrating and on edge I was whilst trying for my first. Love and baby dust to you all and hope it happens soon!

I do recommend cheap ovulation strips. It really gave me peace of mind that we were hitting my ovulation when DTD.

@glow92 cd14 looks like it could be a rise? I know when I last did opks it wasn’t a drastic rise at all it was more a subtle change šŸ™ˆ is test again tomorrow and if no change is class cd14 as the peak.

@Sparkles512 I would 100% get a huge pack of cheapies and test with your husband on Sunday and either way you know 😁 there is no way I could ever be that patient. šŸ˜‚

@MrsA9 I’ve ordered some opks now too and they arrived today. Can not wait for Wednesday for my implant to come out and I can start getting obsessive and charting my opks again šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Think we’ve decided I’m too excited to skip March and April and what will be will be šŸ™Š I’m very much like you ladies and been looking at double prams already because I’m crazy. šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚

Baby dust too you all šŸ’–šŸ’– xx

@MrsA9 yes I've got some cheap tests from Amazon so I will probably do one on the Sunday but then I'll be grumpy all day when it's negative šŸ™ˆšŸ¤£

I'm rubbish with the OPKs as I'm always busy working and don't get chance to do them or forget. But this month I'm on furlough so have had no excuse so making more of an effort to do them!
We have been talking of trying for a baby for around 4 years now but wanted to renovate our house, go on holidays etc but we have now run out of excuses and are desperate for our own family!
Fingers crossed for you šŸ¤ž

MrsA9 · 17/01/2021 20:41

@Sparkles512 aw that's so exciting! I have my fingers crossed for you. I'm trying to convince myself that I'll only ever test if AF is late, but I already know I'll be peeing on everything in sight when the time comes šŸ˜‚
If you get some of the cheap tests then it's not too much of a waste if you test on the Sunday, and should be accurate with it being the day AF is due.
How do you find using opks? We're winging it this month, going to make sure we DTD on cd10, 12, 14 & 16 at least which should hopefully have us covered, and if nothing I'll have a go at opks next month.
I've been looking at baby stuff since long before we planned to start ttc so absolutely no judgement here šŸ˜…

Amyt92929292 · 17/01/2021 20:36

Interesting idea about skipping ttc in March to avoid a Christmas baby! We held off ttc until September so that I wouldn't be pregnant for our wedding but now we're onto month 5 of ttc I wish we'd just started sooner in a way. It's so had not knowing when it will happen! If only we could have a crystal ball so we'd be able to relax a bit more

Sparkles512 · 17/01/2021 19:50

@mrsA9
I got my ovulation peak yesterday, We have been DTD regularly this week as we have both been off work, usually we are too tired or skip a day or two so I'm feeling hopeful, but I always get disappointed!

AF is due on 31st which is a Sunday.... DH wants to be at home when I test so unless I do it on the Sunday I will have to wait until the next Saturday due to DH work commitments and I'm not sure if I can wait that long haha.
But on the other hand it's just a waste of a test if AF makes an appearance on the Sunday/Monday.

I also keep adding baby items to my Amazon basket which I really need to stop as I get disheartened every month when AF makes an appearance. Although we have 2 close friends due their babies in July so at least I have an excuse ish to be looking at baby stuff!

MrsA9 · 17/01/2021 19:12

We briefly discussed skipping March & April too to avoid a Christmas baby, we already have a lot of family birthdays in December but we'll see!

So I caved and ordered OPKs from Amazon...and then the snow hit so I am still without OPKs! On cd12 now so won't bother for this month, we'll just wing it and if no luck I'll get some in for next month.

How is everybody feeling so far? Is anybody in the two week wait yet?

NannytoMummy · 17/01/2021 19:04

Yes TTC first time! So excited, nervous and impatient! Just started tracking my cycle and using ovulation sticks. Grin

glow92 · 17/01/2021 18:48

Thanks @alixxx1 - predicted tomorrow... still no rises šŸ˜ž.

Amyt92929292 · 17/01/2021 18:05

Also I'm 28 and from West Yorkshire

Amyt92929292 · 17/01/2021 17:56

Hi ladies, me and my husband are TTC#1. Now on cycle 5 as my period arrived today (gutted as I thought i was pregnant this time). We're not temping or using OPKs at the moment but we're having sex every 2 days throughout the cycle so that should cover us re dtd in our fertile window. Good luck and baby dust everyone!

alixxx1 · 15/01/2021 21:58

@glow92 I always wonder this too but I think it's anywhere from 12-36 hours later that you ovulate. So I think the advice is to DTD every other day in your fertile window and DTD daily after a static smiley/positive OPK. My OH works away so we were only able to DTD 2 and 3 days before the static smiley, so I would expect roughly 3 days before O. baby dust to you x

Sparkles512 · 15/01/2021 21:41

@MrsE95 I did consider skipping March/April due to not wanting a Christmas baby.
My birthday is 5th December and although not too close to Christmas, I remember as a child friends having excuses such as I'm putting my Christmas tree up to not attend my party and as a teenager friends would say they had no money to go out so close to Christmas.
However I was 8 weeks early and meant to be born in February so in reality even if you are due around Christmas baby might be early or late!
I think we would love our baby and make the best whenever they would make an appearance.

alixxx1 · 15/01/2021 21:34

Also trying for number 2 and in the 2 week wait of our first month trying! Good luck xx

glow92 · 15/01/2021 21:33

For those that are on the OPK's... which day would you normally start seeing a rise? 1 day prior to ovulation? 2 days?

MrsE95 · 15/01/2021 21:20

I remember when trying for my first baby I just got obsessed with checking ovulation and we were trying to DTD everyday and it just became not fun.

I’m the same as you ladies I’ve got some ov strips to do for the first couple of months to know where I’m at and then from then just making sure we DTD at least a couple of times during my fertile window. We don’t particularly have too much of a high sex drive and really don’t want to make it a chore again šŸ™ˆ

Also is anyone else considering skipping TTC in March because you don’t want a Christmas baby? šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚ xx

@xTinkerbell I just hope it stays natural and often if it does take us longer than we hope.... if that makes sense.

xTinkerbell · 14/01/2021 17:32

@glow92 it’s more than usual for us but have managed to fall into it without it feeling too intentional if that makes sense.

I’m the same, that’s why I’m going for a month or 2 then going to stop using them and see how things go.

glow92 · 14/01/2021 17:25

@xTinkerbell apart from AF week DTD every other day(ish) is kind of normal for us so I want to try and keep it that way while not feeling any extra pressure!
I don't want to get hooked on these readings especially if I don't get much of a rise/ovulate at all while my body is settling back down.

xTinkerbell · 14/01/2021 17:07

@glow92 that’s my plan 1/2 months just to see where I’m at. I think I ovulate a little early, around CD11 but not sure. We are still aiming to DTD every other day but I just want to reassure myself a little I suppose.

Fingers crossed for Sunday!
