Just wondered if anyone else with long cycles has tried these? My cycles can range anywhere from 33-45 days and I've read a lot of positive things about these helping shorten cycles. I've just ordered some to try next cycle if AF ever shows up 🙄

Thanks for the thread link @chubbycheese that's really helpful.

Ive just realised the ones I've ordered are 50mg not 100 so think I'll do same as you @kay00 I always count first day as the first day of full flow as I always spot 2-3 days before.

@moominmiss mine come in 50mg tablets so I was thinking of taking:

100mg
100mg
150mg
150mg
200mg

Either days 2 to 6 or 3 to 7.

I suppose it will be important to define when the cycle begins, do you count from first day of spotting or first day of heavy flow?

Thanks.

@Littlepoppet1 I take Tesco own brand ones

This cycle I took

Cd2 - 160mg
Cd3 - 160mg
Cd4 - 160mg
Cd5 - 200mg
Cd6 - 200mg

The Tesco ones are 40mg tablets so I take 4 to get 160mg then 5 tablets to boost it to 200mg for the last 2 days.

You’re never supposed to exceed 200mg

chubbycheese · 08/01/2021 21:15

@Littlepoppet1 I've taken them this month, its my first try with them. My cycles are 33-38 days and seem to be getting longer so thought it was worth a try. 100mg is too high a dose, you need a low dose so you can gradually increase. I bought 40mg tablets and took them like this...

cd2 - 80mg
cd3 - 120mg
cd4 - 120mg
cd5 - 160mg
cd6 - 160mg

@littlepoppet1

I have ordered some too and will be trying for the first time on my next cycle. I am currently on CD25 and waiting for ovulation 😴 this is my 6th cycle and 7th month trying.

My cycles range from 32 to 47 days long, im also 35+ and my feel weak ovulation is probably my problem; I have several ovulation attempts before my body finally succeeds every cycle and low pre and post ovulation temps.

I'm hoping bring ovulation forward and strengthen my little eggs!!

Littlepoppet1 · 08/01/2021 18:23

Thanks for that @Moominmiss can I ask how many you take? The ones I've ordered are 100mg. Sorry to hear about your MC's Flowers

I think I'll give them a go and see what happens!

@Littlepoppet1 yes I use them!

I’ve actually used them on and off for about 6 months.

When I don’t take them I ovulated on cd22 and then my cycle ends up being 35 days long.

When I do take them it brings my ovulation earlier quite significantly.

I have in the past taken them on cd3-7, which supposedly may bring ovulation forward slightly, while also ensuring the eggs are mature enough. Taking it on these days I’ve brought ovulation forward to cd14, 15, and 16.

This current cycle I took them on days 2-6. I ovulated on cd14, so with my 13 day luteal phase my cycle will be 27 days long!

I’ve had a couple of bfp’s on cycles where I’ve taken soy, but unfortunately mc - had 4 mc in total and not all while taking soy so in no way think it’s related.

So from my own personal experience, in shortening my cycle length it’s worked great!

Littlepoppet1 · 08/01/2021 15:58

Thanks all! Interesting it made you ovulate later as I was hoping for the opposite! My cycles are all over the place at the mo!

I used them, though it did make me ovulate quite a bit later. I conceived on the second try of using them but had a mmc.

NamechangeTTC · 08/01/2021 15:15

I did. Conceived cycle 3. I think it made me ovulate later.

Here’s a thread on successful BFP’s from Soy

community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a12154345/bfps_with_soy_isoflavones.

It was recommended to me by someone on the long cycles thread of this forum. She was given clomid but decided to try Soy instead and it worked for her.

I was also on another thread where three people got there BFP‘s using soy. One was the first cycle the others took a bit longer I think.

I tried soy for one cycle and it didn’t work for me and then couldn’t find any near me so I didn’t use it after that cycle.

Hope it works for you 😁
