Just wondered if anyone else with long cycles has tried these? My cycles can range anywhere from 33-45 days and I've read a lot of positive things about these helping shorten cycles. I've just ordered some to try next cycle if AF ever shows up 🙄

Hey! Just wanted to jump on. I tried soy for the first time the cycle to try and bring my ovulation sooner but it’s now CD25 and nothing! I’m panicking because I only had 36/37 day cycles so I should have just been patient! Has anyone found it delayed ovulation for them?

heybabes · 19/03/2021 11:29

@Riverskye yes I second what @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 said, hoping it's a fallback rise for you :)

I got another higher temp today but also woke up too hot again! Don't know if me being too hot is giving me high temps, or if my high temps are making me feel too hot haha.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 19/03/2021 08:52

@riverskye I’m 🤞it was a fallback rise and you’ve ovulated also

Riverskye · 18/03/2021 10:15

@heybabes your chart definitely looks like you've ovulated, how exciting! Hopefully it stays high to confirm.

I'm currently on CD22, my temp dipped 2 days ago, rose really high yesterday but dropped again today. I've still had more CM this cycle so trying to not give up hope yet.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 18/03/2021 09:13

Hi Heybabes, yes just before bed, and still feel ill until about 3pm. Not feeling so bad today though with a higher dose, so maybe getting more used to it.

That sounds positive in terms of a stronger O 🤞! And hopefully much higher hormones!

heybabes · 18/03/2021 08:37

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah the headaches are real! Are you taking them just before bed? I literally take them as late as I can and it helped a bit.

@Riverskye any news on O yet? 🤞

I think I’ve ovulated. My chart says I have but I’m a bit sceptical of my last two temperatures. Yesterday I really needed the loo when I woke up & then my stepson came in the room and wanted me to read him a story, so I did all that before taking my temp. This morning I took it when I woke up, but I woke up really hot. Think we’ve got the heating on too high now it’s getting a bit warmer... so I guess will have to see if my temps stay up to confirm!

If so, then that’s CD22, which is one day later than my cycle without soy, but 10 days earlier than when I took it Cd5-9!

On “O day”, I had really bad nausea. I’ve never had symptoms of ovulation before and could be totally unrelated, but I really thought I was going to be sick for an hour or so and I hadn’t eaten anything yet. So wondering if that was it? 🤔

Thanks Riverskye, sorry you felt crappy also. How are things going? I read through the thread and saw you had positive sounding updates end of last month

Riverskye · 17/03/2021 20:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I found I had really bad headaches both times I took soy and generally felt a bit crappy. Took them before bed to try and reduce the side effects, on the plus side though I felt totally normal a couple of days after stopping!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/03/2021 11:56

I think its definitely the soy making me feel bad, I was so nauseous all of yesterday, headache, slightly blurry eyes. I couldn't face upping my dose last night in case it made me vomit so just took 100mg again. Feeling pretty yucky and not with it today also. Will up it again 150mg tonight, and attempt 200mg on the last dose, but feeling a bit nervous.

Better bloody work after making me feel so awful 🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 16:27

Hi Kay, thank you, that's an impressive lengthening! how much B12 and B6 are you taking to lengthen luteal phase? I just checked my multivitamin and its 1000% B12 and 714% B6, but not sure if its enough.

Kay00 · 16/03/2021 16:17

Hi ladies, @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks for the advice re. inflammation Smile

To help elongate my LP I used a B-Complex (with high levels of B12 and B6), I extended it from 8 days to 14 days!

I am trying Soy again this cycle (despite not ovulating for the past two cycles) as I just hope that I have my inflammation under control (through diet) that my body will produce an egg again haha. I took 150, 200, 200, 200, 200 CD3-7 (well, maybe CD4-8 if you count my first day of very very light spotting).

Good luck to you all!

RoseP123 · 16/03/2021 13:50

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah that is true, I will see when AF comes this time around. If it was the same length cycle as last time then AF will be here Saturday. Currently have sore boobs, not sure if this is AF or not so I am not holding my breath.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 13:18

@RoseP123 yes definitely, I think its such a worrying time because you don't know and you can't control it. If its only your first or second month tracking, you might have have had an odd cycle and your luteal phase might be fine :)

Is anyone feeling unwell on their soy? I'm taking it at night, for two nights so far, and feeling quite sick and woozy and generally yucky today. Might be a coincidence, but wondering if it could be the soy

RoseP123 · 16/03/2021 12:20

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm sorry to hear about your MC Sad hopefully this will work for you.

I feel so naive to all the things we need to know about, luteal phases etc. This is only our 2nd month TTC but already feeling worried about things that could be wrong.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 08:20

Hi Rose, I think I have short luteal phases too since my miscarriage. I haven’t got pregnant since (5 months) so I’m worrying a bit about it also. For my miscarriage with my longer luteal phase, I fell pregnant first month. Since, my luteal phase has been four days less. Hoping this will work also 🤞

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 08:16

@Riverskye thanks so much. Reading this thread was why I tried this dose, was originally planning lower, so that’s been really helpful!

Someone mentioned inflammation, I don’t know much about it affecting ovulation, but I have used Berberine before (gastro related inflammation over a long time) and it really helped. I found out about it because it was being studied in the cancer trials I was researching, when my relative had cancer. You cannot use it while pregnant though so if you choose to use it, better to sit a month out while taking x

RoseP123 · 16/03/2021 07:11

Hi all, glad i've found this thread!

My last cycle was 30 days with O on CD21. This cycle I had O on CD21 again, currently on CD26 so if it'll be AF on Saturday if it's to follow the same pattern. Does anyone else have this?

It's made me worried that my luteal phase is so short that it will cause problems TTC, this is our first. I have ordered some SI after reading this thread so think i will take days 2-6!

Glad a lot of you have had success with your cycles after SI!

Riverskye · 15/03/2021 21:53

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 welcome aboard Smile I think that's a good dosage to start with. A couple of us started with lower doses and ended up having really long cycles - not sure if its connected, just something we noticed!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/03/2021 15:20

Hi, I'm so glad I found this thread! I've just ordered soy isoflavone and taken 100 mg yesterday on CD2 (I think, I had a weird late cycle, lots of spotting). Planning 100 tonight, then 150, 150, 200. Unless anyone thinks I should take a higher dose earlier?

Really hoping it works! I read through all the BabyCentre BFP's, and so really hopeful

heybabes · 15/03/2021 10:00

@murmurlade Welcome! Yes I haven't told my doctor about it but I might do if still problems further down the line.

@Fifi1086 that's great! Mine hasn't done that this time... I'm on CD21 and still haven't ovulated! The only cycle I have tracked without soy I ovulated on CD20... so maybe it's having the opposite effect on me!

@riverskye Hope you ovulate soon! It's the same for me, CD21 and nothing yet but also increased CM (I've noticed EWCM for the first time ever since TTC) so hopefully we both will v soon :)

Riverskye · 14/03/2021 17:25

Hi @murmurlade welcome to the thread! I didn't tell my doctor that I'm using soy but if I have to go in the future for fertility reasons I will bring it up.

@Fifi1086 so exciting for you that it managed to bring forward ovulation, fingers crossed it's your month! I'm currently on CD18 (second soy cycle) with no ovulation yet but have more CM than usual so hoping I might soon 😊

Fifi1086 · 12/03/2021 09:49

Hey everyone! Any more soy BFPs? This was my first month taking it because of late O and short luteal phase. Managed to bring it forward from cd21 to cd16 so I'm thrilled 😊😊 even if this isn't my month I'm just happy to have a relatively textbook ovulation day!

murmurlade · 10/03/2021 15:33

Hi everyone, I've just read this thread with interest as I have long cycles and no evidence of ovulation. Like a lot of others I am baffled by which ones to buy on Amazon.

Can I ask, did any of you discuss with your doctor about taking these, or did you just crack on? Interested to know if it's something to tell the doctor (rather than ask, obviously!) so they know what we've tried?

@heybabes so sorry about your mum, she sounds tough and hope the transplant is a total success.

heybabes · 10/03/2021 10:04

@Riverskye Fingers crossed! You deserve it after your last cycle!

@Kay00 Oh that's rubbish! I guess if you know the inflammation is causing you not to ovulate, maybe skip the soy as there might not be any point?

Yeah the stuff with my mum has been crap! She got diagnosed with leukaemia in the middle of the pandemic and has basically had to suffer by herself because of Covid. Luckily she is doing ok now and this transplant should be a cure, and hopefully I'll be able to spend some proper time with her over the summer (and I was hoping to be able to give her some good news too... like her first grandchild! Well we shall see...)

I'm CD17 now and still no signs of O! I just want a normal length cycle. I think I stress so much that it delays ovulation. At the moment I'm so on edge about ovulating I think that it's putting it off?

Kay00 · 09/03/2021 22:35

Hi ladies!

Oh wow, @heybabes, sounds like your mum has had a tough time, and it must have been difficult not seeing her all this time xx

Sounds like you and @riverskye might Ov soon. Fingers crossed for you both 🤞🤞🤞

I finally finished my first Soy cycle... with AF on CD46, but no ovulation 😔 this is my second cycle without ovulation in a row, and I think my inflammation (elsewhere in my body) is interrupting my cycles.

I'm not sure whether to give SI another go or to give my body a rest to try and get over the inflammation.

Choices choices!
