Just wondered if anyone else with long cycles has tried these? My cycles can range anywhere from 33-45 days and I've read a lot of positive things about these helping shorten cycles. I've just ordered some to try next cycle if AF ever shows up 🙄

Hi @LimpyLarry good thanks! Still not pregnant but on 2nd round, and both cycles I’ve ovulated day 14 (previously CD 20ish), with clear opks and quick bbt rise. 5dpo now so just waiting.

One thing I would say is I didn’t have a lot of CM on the 1st cycle, so drank pink grapefruit juice for first half of cycle and had heaps this month for a few days

LimpyLarry · 25/04/2021 12:38

Afternoon everyone! Just wondering if this thread is still going? I've been debating taking SI for a few months. I took the plunge, bought some and am CD3 so plan on using then 3-7.

How had everyone been getting on?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it estimates I’m 11 days past ovulation so I’m debating doing a test in the morning or waiting a few days.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/04/2021 16:08

@Riverskye I cannot see the chart very well, but if you did ovulate that week, could you test now?

Riverskye · 21/04/2021 08:29

Thought I'd come and give a wee update. Still on my second soy cycle, CD56 now. I've only been doing bbt this time and not opks to see if it gives any insight into my cycle.

My period tracking app predicted I'd ovulate around the 7th which I took with a pinch of salt as my cycles have been anywhere from 34 up to 70+ days. But my bbt app has now come back and suggests I may have ovulated that week! I've never used that method before so I'll attach the chart and any interpretations are welcome!

@sundowners thanks! I'm on the soy isoflavones atm which I can't take with agnus castus, may switch it out next cycle. I have grapefruit juice for cervical mucus (maybe need to up it to EPO) and yes I think I def need to get some conceive plus! Will go and get some today as I'm coming up to ovulation hopefully

sundowners · 15/04/2021 08:49

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sounds great. I also swear by agnus cactus up to and during ovulation- stopping during the 2ww. Evening Primrose for cervical mucus and Conceive Plus- make sure you get it right "up there" about 5 mins before dtd! Upside down cycling/raising bum and hips in the air and giving a good wriggling around for 5 mins afterwards/before going for wee.

@sundowners thanks! Had my 1st acupuncture appointment today, and she went though my cycles and said I am hormonally imbalanced. She thinks after fixing that (6 sessions, one a week) that I'll be fine. Does that sound about right? She said to continue with the soy, prenatals, ubiquinol, vit C and iron that I've been taking. Any other tips?

sundowners · 08/04/2021 16:41

If anyone is SW London/Surrey and wants a great acupuncturist with speciality in fertility, feel free to PM

sundowners · 08/04/2021 16:39

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I truly swear by acupuncture for fertility/cycle regulation- really wishing you all the success

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/04/2021 16:36

@sundowners congrats! Great news, made me even more hopeful for acupuncture

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/04/2021 16:34

@Kay00 oh wow that's great you ovulated!! Fingers crossed for you! Sorry Dr's were being so rubbish. I would def take soy again, I think it had a good effect. However I called my GP today and he thinks I have a hormonal imbalance and wants me to have bloods to check, and he told me to stop taking them until after the test so it doesn't affect it.

I also booked in for a Zita West trained acupuncturist today (I'm really going for it 😂) which is starting next week. I asked about the soy and they said no problem to take it while having acupuncture. So I will restart it next cycle

sundowners · 08/04/2021 16:25

I had hugely long cycles while starting TTC this baby- but think it was a mix of soy Isoflavones, Agnus cactus and acupuncture which helped regulate them/ then helped get pregnant, currently 31 weeks. All the best!

Hi @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Sorry AF arrived :( Great that you didn't spot before period. Will you be trying Soy Iso again?

This is my 2nd Soy cycle and 1st cycle since Nov Cycle where I have actually ovulated - so I'm pretty pleased! I think Soy helped for sure, but I think controlling my inflammation through diet helped too. Fingers crossed for a BFP, but tbh i'm just happy to have ovulated - haha!

I have appointment with Gastroenterologist tomorrow to discuss inflammation and I have self referred myself to the fertility clinic ... my doctors surgery were dragging their feet and I was getting impatient (esp. due to the lack of ovulation for 4 months!).

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/04/2021 11:03

Hope everyone is doing well!

Just wanted to update for the thread, my period arrived today. CD26, so a very short cycle. This is the 1st one since mc where I haven't spotted for a few days before, and my luteal phase was 12 days, which is better but still not perfect. My bbt plummeted this morning to below cover line, then period started ten mins later. I've no cramps.

So, seems positive, although obviously I'm not pregnant 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/03/2021 10:53

@heybabes just wanted to say thanks for the advice, because it did go back up today x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/03/2021 11:44

@heybabes that's great you're feeling good! With the exception of lack of appetite.

Thank you, I'll see how it goes with the next few temps, there's so much conflicting advice on google. My Flo app is saying ovulation still occurred even with the low temp today, but I don't know if its a very good one

heybabes · 29/03/2021 11:15

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you, yes feeling alright. Got a few cramps and appetite is non-existent but otherwise feel normal!

With your temp, I'd not worry too much about today's one, just see what happens tomorrow. What your looking for is a trend. Some people have drops because of secondary estrogen surges, or it could have been your blanket. If you keep getting low temps then you may not have ovulated yet.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/03/2021 11:02

Also, to mention, my dog was sick on my duvet so I only had a thin blanket last night, I don't know if being physically cold can change the temperature so much - from googling it appears not, but just in case anyone thinks otherwise.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/03/2021 11:01

Also can I ask a question, its probably a stupid one sorry but its my first time temping. I'm using Flo to predict ovulation, and its saying I ovulated on CD 12 (three days ago). I had positive opks for the two days before, and a big temp spike on the day they recorded as ovulation. Temp stayed up for 1dpo, 2dpo, but this morning it dropped down to almost cover line (36.9 to 36.46).

So, does this mean I haven't ovulated? I had a temp spike on the day of ovulation, 1dpo, 2dpo - is that sufficient for my three days of elevated temps? I took an opk this morning just to double check, and its negative.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/03/2021 10:48

@heybabes still amazing you managed to wait until 13 dpo to test! Hope you're feeling well and doing okay. Its very exciting! Is that the 1st bfp for this soy thread?

heybabes · 29/03/2021 10:26

@Kay00 @Riverskye @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks so much! It feels very surreal. I think once you get a few negative results you just can't imagine it happening to you, that's how I felt. So it's all like "eh? It CAN happen?"

Kay00 · 29/03/2021 00:38

@heybabes Omg!! Congratulations!! Im so pleased for you xxx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/03/2021 21:08
