Hello!
I’ll try and keep this as short as possible lol.
Me and my partner have only been TTC for a couple of months, we had a CP in October and we’ve not fallen pregnant yet...this month I was convinced I was pregnant, sore boobs which I never have (let’s just say I wasn’t blessed in this department), feeling sick, abdo cramps and all round feeling meh.
AF is due today I’ve taken a few pregnancy tests over the last few days all BFN, I’ve had some brown discharge today (sorry TMI) not sure if this is AF on its way or there’s still a chance?
It’s been really rubbish as all of my friends and some people at work are pregnant so there’s no escape! One of which is actually in Labour today, I sat and cried (although I’d never tell her that!!)

So I guess my 2 questions are, has anyone had an experience like me with all the symptoms, discharge but turning into a BFP?
And how the hell did you cope with family, friends and colleagues being pregnant?

Thanks! Sorry for the long thread!

@Astormofswords that’s a very good quote and speaks so much truth! I’m so happy for them all just so sad it’s not me! Especially cause one of them has had 3 abortions and just finds it so easy to get pregnant like “hey I might keep this one?!”

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter Yes that’s the same as me I dramatically stormed into the bedroom last night and flung myself onto the bed saying “it’s the start!!!😭” but then today there’s hardly anything so now I’m like .......

@BriocheBuns yes I’m really trying to enjoy it, I’ve always been the one to say to other people not to worry and it can take ages, I need to start taking my own advice!!

@Astormofswords that’s such a lovely idea, I think a couple of glasses of wine always go down nicely when AF arrives 😂🍷 x

@Firsttry132 @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter one thing I did do it makes it slightly more bearable (not great in Covid times) but have a period present. Book something in the diary each month when your period is due, like a champagne evening (obv at home), baked cheeses, massages, hair colouring...think of all the things you can’t do when pregnant. So it was something to look forward too, mentally it helped me x

@Firsttry132 - you never know you could be on of those who test positive a few days after AF due date. I wouldn’t get too upset tho or let TTC consume you so early into your journey, you just never know what month you’ll fall in and you don’t want to spend each waking moment feeling down about it.

Try and enjoy the process, it’ll happen only when it’s meant to x

@Firsttry132 exactly the same as me, spotting 2 days before!! I’m trying not to get my hopes up either and trying to mentally prepare myself with being completely fine if AF turns up when in reality I’ll be like this... 😭😭😭. 😂

@Astormofswords I completely get that! As a couple we’ve spoken about TTC for years! But held off and been so careful until we’ve been in a good and stable position with our house, financially, jobs etc. Then multiple friends get pregnant by accident with uncertain situations and it all works out and makes me feel like “what’s the point of waiting all this time if it all works out in the end anyway!” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Astormofswords · 06/01/2021 17:35

I didn’t cope well with others being pregnant and I never ttc for ages (less than a year). I fully take my hat off to people ttc for years or going through ivf who can be happy for other people or they are definitely better at hiding it than me.

A friend put it in a really good way: it’s not that you aren’t happy for them, you are happy they are pregnant, you are just sad for yourself. It’s completely normal to be a be jealous or sad of other pregnancies. Don’t be too hard in yourself.

I hope af doesn’t appear, sounds slightly promising 🤞🤞🤞

Firsttry132 · 06/01/2021 17:24

Yes exact same as me! I’ve been squinting so much to try and see something but still nothing😂
I normally have spotting for 2 days before AF so I feel the same, trying desperately to not get my hopes up!
It’s so exciting TTC until this stage and then I hate it! Xx

@Firsttry132 I’m having the same. Spotting but not due AF until Friday. Taken quite a few test and not even a hint of a line 🙈 I’m hoping it’s implantation bleeding and will turn into a BFP. But it is quite common for me to have spotting before AF so I’m not holding my breath

This is our first month TTC (but have spoken about it for a long time and holding off for the right time etc...! Only decided to start TTC as our wedding has been postponed!) so Haven’t been at it very long at all but it really does feel like all of a sudden everyone is pregnant!? I’m all ears of you need to rant, it’s good to get off your chest sometimes! Xx
