Hi there, starting treatment in next few months after 3 1/2 years of trying naturally. Anyone else starting IVF/ICSI in next few months? I have very low AMH so odds are very low x

Hi @Mrs32 I just re-read my post and realise it was confusing. We are starting next week Wed or Thursday so 17th/18th!!

Yes I've heard of people using ice so I think it will be ok but obviously don't take my word for it!!

Have you read that book about IVF called Get a Life?! It's the journey told first by the woman then the man. I don't recommend it for your DHs because the husband can't manage to give his sample so it might freak them out. But it's quite funny the way it is told. I mentioned that to the nurse when I went for my first egg collection and she said "don't worry, if needs be we can take it direct out the testicles with a needle!". She had an evil glint in her eyes but it made me feel better!. Again, maybe not something to share with the other half!!

Mrs32 · 10/03/2021 18:44

@janefx40 thats great that youre starting today or tomorrow. Keep us updated on how you get on. Im thinking of getting an ice pack bec i hate injections so i might feel a bit better if ive iced the area first but need to make sure that will be safe to do.
Ive never wanted to start my period so much LOL, im expecting to start 31st march / 1st April and then i can have my 1st scan followed my the dreaded 3 injections.

Janefx40 · 08/03/2021 09:08

Hi ladies. I was on this thread when you first started it but not been around since.

@Furmummy good luck with the injections. It's ok once you've done the first one. I just count to three and force myself to stick the needle in on 3. It's a bit like making yourself jump into cold water!! You have to force yourself to take that step. Remember all your pain receptors are on the surface of the skin so once you've broken through the skin it doesn't hurt!!

We are starting a fresh round next Wednesday or Thursday. We had been told DPs sperm was so damaged there was no point but it turned out the tests were wrong!! You can't make this stuff up.

@Mrs32 glad you managed to get your info session sooner - it was going to be a long wait!

X

Mrs32 · 07/03/2021 17:00

@furmummy WOW this week, thats amazing news hun
Keep me updated on how you are getting on.
Our journey started end of 2018 with our first appt with the CRM to finally starting things now in 2021, its been a looooong journey.

My injections are in the fridge, i started bleeding the day of our info session so i will start early April with my 1st scan on day 1 of my P. We had info session, both hubby and i had bloods and i had a vaginal swab.
The nurse had vertigo so she wrote a prescription for 2 injections and forgot the 3rd so hubby will pick it up when he gives a sample which they will check and freeze so we will have 2 samples frozen and he will give a fresh sample to day of egg retrieval.

Cant believe the injections are in the fridge and ready sooooo nervous about self injecting.

Youre going to do great hun, i have everything crossed for a sucessful round x

Furmummy · 06/03/2021 07:48

How did your information session go? I should be starting the injections this week x

OP posts:
Mrs32 · 03/03/2021 11:34

@furmummy my husband feels anxious about the sample too but we have a frozen sample and then on the day he will give another sample and they will check which is better to use. Keep him feeling positive and he will be okay. It sounds easy but its a lot of pressure on the guys too

Mrs32 · 03/03/2021 11:32

We have our info session tomorrow. Luckily we got a cancellation call from the hospital so its moved from 14th April to 4th March, feeling really grateful for it.
Im starting to feel nervous about how the injections will go as im terrified of injections and my husband isnt too good with them either

Furmummy · 27/02/2021 18:21

We are not far off starting the process now .. husband having concerns about the sample and if he can do it ... but other than that all on track! X

OP posts:
Mrs32 · 22/02/2021 14:19

Finally we have a date for the information session which is in 2 months so im going to try and get an earlier cancellation

Fingers crossed

Any progress updates for anyone?

Mrsrielly · 18/02/2021 09:46

Oh you sound a lot further on than me, I don't know anything yet other than we will will be getting ICSI

Oh I hope you get an answer from them xx

Mrs32 · 18/02/2021 09:40

@mrsrielly
We have been told short protocol too, ive also been offered the scratch which i think i am going to say yes to as she said it might help implantation.
We are with Coventry & Warwickshire CRM.

We also signed up to nhs dotpost but the letters arent attached uuuuurgh calling them now to find out.

Ladies fingers crossed the ball rolls quickly for us all towards a BFP

Mrs32 · 18/02/2021 09:37

@mrstea301
I know the struggle hun, my bmi was 34 and it gad to be below 30
Its tough but if i can do it, you can too x

Mrsrielly · 18/02/2021 08:48

@Mrs32 we are NHS in Glasgow?

Aw really? That's a shame.

I'm trying my hardest not to let it affect me and I keep thinking I'm doing everything I can so I try just not think about it in a stressful way until I need to do something xx

Mrs32 · 18/02/2021 01:19

@mrsrielly i know hun, its so difficult waiting around. I have a friend whos at the same CRM as me and she said the session was in person, not sure how that'll work due to covid. Are you nhs or private? Ours is nhs.
I want that date letter already LOL

Cant sleep thinking about it all

How are you doing?

Mrsrielly · 16/02/2021 16:54

@Mrs32 yes it was just by phone, which I didn't mind at all.

That's good you got your BMI down.

It's horrible just waiting isn't it 🙈 feel like it's a constant wait for something lol xx

Mrs32 · 16/02/2021 16:52

@Furmummy

We were referred back in late 2018 and finally ive got my weight down i called and they booked me in for a phone appt to go through the details.
My BMI was 34 at 1 stage and its fown to under 29 Grin

Mrs32 · 16/02/2021 16:50

@Mrsrielly

Was your info session on the phone? Ours might be in person. A friend had her info session approx 6 weeks ago and she had to go in for it.

Im atill waiting for a pack and appt details for the info session.
Urgh the post cant come quick enough its driving me bonkers

Mrsrielly · 16/02/2021 09:49

Hi @Furmummy yeah seems we are quite similar. Hopefully hear something soon!

@Mrs32 I had mine over the phone too.

Hoping to hear that I start next week by some miracle lol xx

Furmummy · 16/02/2021 08:33

Sorry ladies I have been a bit internet quiet over the last week!

Mrsreily - I am on the short protocol so believe it’s anywhere between 10-14 day, I am 38 so similar age to you. I hope you get booked in soon.

Mrstea301 - good look with your weight loss .., it’s so hard at the moment, I just want to eat rubbish! I am just under the bmi bracket, I find using my fitness pal helps and recording everything I eat - fingers crossed you get there soon xxxx

Mrs32 - it’s exciting as once you get into the system it can start moving quickly. I had my consultation over the phone after having fertility investigations. Hope you get booked in soon xx

Mrs32 · 11/02/2021 23:05

Hey ladies

We are waiting for our information session date to arrive in the post in the next few days
Im really orayung we get a session sooner than later as i really want to get started in April.

Anyone else booked in gor the ingo session?

Mrsrielly · 11/02/2021 07:56

@mrstea301 aw that's a shame. It won't help with lockdown at the moment either obviously ☹️ they told me 3/4 months waiting list so I'm just waiting on my first appointment

mrstea301 · 10/02/2021 16:06
@mrstea301 Oh that's good news for you? Did they say if there was a timescale or anything for you? Xx
Aw thank you!! No, there's no timescale - basically, get to 30 bmi then get back in touch with the hospital. But I'm really struggling to lose the weight so I really need to get a grip with myself!

Mrsrielly · 10/02/2021 16:03

@mrstea301 Oh that's good news for you? Did they say if there was a timescale or anything for you? Xx

mrstea301 · 10/02/2021 13:26

Wanted to follow as we've been told well. Be put forward to ICSI once I have lost the required weight (which I'm struggling with, but that a separate story!) good luck with your journey!

Mrsrielly · 10/02/2021 13:22

@Furmummy oh that's exciting! How long do you have to do the injections for? The doctor was saying spring for me but haven't been given an exact date yet waiting on an appointment coming thru. But she said she will try her hardest to get an earlier appointment for me as I am worried with me being 37 now 🙈

It is a lot to get your head around isn't it tho!
