Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

Hi @RoseP123 welcome :)

I think if it's your first cycle it's hard to know when you ovulation and when your peak is - and it changes every month. I'm in my first month TTC and am CD23 - I gave up thinking I'd see peak this month as thought I hadn't ovulated or maybe it missed my peak as apparently it can do that first month, and today I got peak...seems so late! We have been DTD every other day just incase and will DTD today and tomorrow as well, so I'd stay stick with it to give the best chance :) Keep us updated!

RoseP123 · 02/02/2021 12:22

Hi Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing, but it's nice to hear from some people who are in the same boat. First month TTC ever - complete newbie! Congratulations to those ladies expecting :)

I came off the pill in December, and CD1 was 19th January. I started using CB OPK on CD13 (perhaps a bit late) CD14 and 15 I had a "high" reading. Not sure if this is right or if I was a little late to start testing but I guess it's worth DTD anyway. I wonder if I will get a peak result or if i've missed it??

Chels139 · 02/02/2021 08:52

Oh @LiGigi sorry to hear pesky AF arrived :( Hope your glass of wine was good!

I finally got my peak reading today - on CD23!! I feel this is so late compared to every one else. And worried that my LP will be too short for implantation - I guess we'll see. This TTC business is annoying haha! So many worries and unknowns!

How is everyone else getting on?

@Pixiedust018 how are you doing?

Tokyo21 · 01/02/2021 16:33

@LiGigi sorry to hear that 🥺but sending you lots of baby dust good luck with your new cycle. And enjoy your wine you deserve it!

Tokyo21 · 01/02/2021 16:32

Could this be a false positive in any way??? The control line doesn’t look right and the test line is it grey ?? Can’t tell if my eyes are playing tricks on me

AF is here... bloody knew it! Oh well. Im going to treat myself to a glass of wine tonight, looking forward to that actually. Let's see how this cycle goes...

DizSquiz · 01/02/2021 14:13

@Sauerkrauted

Hope you ladies don’t mind me joining, have been watching for a few weeks. My DP and I decided to start TTC in December and are on our second cycle. I took a test this morning and think I can see a very, very faint line, what do you think? I think I’m about 10 DPO.
@Sauerkrauted I can see a very faint line! Tomorrow morning hopefully will be clearer. Congrats 🥳

@Tokyo21 maybe they had different sensitivity? I would give it a few days and test again.

For me, today at 13 DPO I feel like AF is on her way this month. I can't fall asleep, I have nightmares, mild cramping... all textbook stuff I'd expect a few days before. I think I'm OK with it and wondering if I should delay TTC a few more months if that's the case to finish renovating the house. Trying to see the positives.

How are you ladies doing today?

Tokyo21 · 01/02/2021 01:46

Hey ladies hope one of you can help me!
I took a Superdrug preggo test couple days ago and got a blaring positive. Couldn’t believe it so went to boots and took 3 of their HCG strips and got all negatives! Do you think it’s likely just a chemical or faulty test? Or do I still have a chance 🥺

Kittysw · 01/02/2021 01:40

I just wanted to say I feel so much more positive this month. I mean I think we have missed this month. Only DTD once/twice in my window as DF has been shattered from working and just not been in the mood.

Saying all of that I have a very different mindset this month compared to last month and already on CD 15 this month is flying by.

Hope everyone else is doing okie. Who is next to be testing?

glassacorn · 31/01/2021 23:09

@DizSquiz

Hi all,

This is my first time TTC and I'm confused about my 2nd dip in the Luteal phase... as I woke up throughout the night so hot and sweaty.

My boobs are so sore and I've had brown spotting AF due 04/02
Tested this morning 11 dpo BFN I'm starting to think I'm out this month

Has anyone had similar dip in temperature as attached?

Without wanting to get too excited, sometimes a biphasic dip can indicate implantation - or an early period. parenting.firstcry.com/articles/implantation-dip-does-it-indicates-pregnancy/

Will keep fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for you!

How's everyone getting on?

Sorry I don't know the correct terminology as I'm still new when it comes to TTC but I'm now 9 days late and still no sign of AF.

Did two tests on Friday and one on Saturday, both BFN.

Boobs feel a bit sore today and I've had some cramps this morning.

Congratulations to all that had their positives x

Hallie91 · 31/01/2021 16:49

@Taliasometimes I hope so 🤞

Ah I couldn't wait to find out either!

I agree re. Doctors. It was very much "so what?" With my first. Luckily I knew a local midwife and she said to just sign up direct with the hospital and they were absolutely brilliant. Think they call it "midwife led" instead of "gp led" or something 🤷‍♀️

Taliasometimes · 31/01/2021 14:23

@Hallie91Oooh that sounds good. That's when I got my first line. I swear it was so faint I had to move it round the room to get the light to see it!
I didn't have the willpower that you have, I was meant to wait. But I couldn't resist. Fingers crossed you get the answer you are hoping for!! And let us know x

@LiGigi thank you, yes I will be finding out, I am far too impatient to wait!
I hope you get your valentines baba ❤️

I'm not sure what to do next, NHS says to get in touch with the gp, but a lot of poeple are saying the gp isn't helpful etc...
I'm also trying to stay calm and not to panic about getting thru the first 12 weeks safely , even though its hard.

LiGigi · 31/01/2021 13:50

@Taliasometimes congratulations! So encouraging to hear your story, thank you for sharing! Will you be finding out if you're having a boy or a girl when the time comes?

I'm 12 DPO today. Still have not tested. I feel so very very tired today. A bit lightheaded and a wee bit nauseous. But all of that is typical for me a few days before AF arrives. I'm going to try not testing til AF is way late. She's due on 3rd Feb and I'm wondering if I can go without testing til Valentine's day? If she still has not arrived, I'd be pretty sure of a BFP and what a day it would be to find out on!

Hallie91 · 31/01/2021 13:36

@Taliasometimes big big congrats!! I'm so so happy you posted your progress.

I, just like you, am in my 30s and stopped commenting because I've been feeling pressure and anxiety but I love reading people's stories and progress.

I am 9dpo today and took a FRer test and a cheapie - and I'm convinced I saw a VVVFL but also telling myself I've got line eyes and just seeing what I want to see. Trying to hold off until 12dpo or 14dpo now. Due on 5/6th.

BubblesNSnuggles · 31/01/2021 12:42

@Taliasometimes congratulations! So pleased for you! Keep us updated on how you’re feeling.

@Chall139 pressed was fine - really easy to use, just used it in the bathroom before bed so it wasn’t interrupting anything 🙈 can’t say it’s been a miracle worker for us though as I’ve just tested today (10dpo) and got a definite negative so think we are out this month. 4 days to go and we will know for sure. I hate this rollercoaster 🙈

glassacorn · 30/01/2021 14:37

@Taliasometimes CONGRATULATIONS!

@FieldView Same, CD16 today but feeling MUCH more chilled this cycle. Have been using OPKs but sometimes hard to tell if there's a line - don't think I've missed peak so must be later this month? Also tracking BBT (when I remember 😂) and that's been good for showing after the fact - which isn't helpful but I guess is reassuring?
I did do some Googling and apparently some women do ovulate later 🤷🏼‍♀️ and that 14 days before period is a general average.

How's everyone getting on with TWW or mid-cycle tracking? 💐✨☀️

glassacorn · 30/01/2021 14:32

@ims0rrydarlingg

2 negative tests today :( 7 days late with my period which has never happened before.

I'm 31 and we've been TTC since August.

I had a few symptoms so bad kind of built my hopes up.

This is what happened to me last cycle - always 29/30 days and it went to 45! I put it down to stress and the disruption of Christmas to diet/exercise etc. Will keep fingers crossed - TTC is a wiley one!
DizSquiz · 30/01/2021 10:32

@Taliasometimes

Hi guys, I posted on this thread right at the start but quit joining in due to anxiety reading the forums.

Anyway, I started TTC this month too.
If you want some reassurance if you have just come off the pill and or over 30 then...

Im 32, Will be FTM, Just off the pill after 7 years in Dec.
Withdrawal bleed 3 days later, bad symptoms but very light 4 day period 3 weeks later. Wasnt 100 percent sure if ovulated as opk wasn't as dark a positive as I wanted but I used that as the go ahead.
Got a VERRRY faint positive at 9 dpo , slightly darker 10 dpo and this morning at 12dpo a beaming BFP on a FRER and clear blue digital.

I know I'm lucky, but stories like this helped me so much this month, it may be interesting to someone who's nervous and or in the same boat.

I can't even believe this, we are so happy and shocked!

Baby dust to you all and hope it's so soon if it hasn't happened already ❤️❤️❤️🙏

@Taliasometimes Congratulations 🥳 👶🏼 how exciting! I have have left boob ache but not right boob, odd 😅 x
Kittysw · 30/01/2021 10:05

@Taliasometimes Congratulations! It's always helpful and reassuring to hear good positive outcomes :)

Grace185 · 30/01/2021 09:07

Congratulations @Taliasometimes and thanks so much for all the info and hope :)

Taliasometimes · 30/01/2021 08:49

Oh I forgot to add.
I'm also overweight if that's been a concern to anyone else as it was to me. (been sorting that out since new year, ongoing hahah)
And used normal lube, cos I didn't know it was bad!!

Also no symptoms until yesterday. Which was incessant cramping, headache, overheating. I was running to the loo to check for blood but nothing.

Ive not had any spotting yet and there was nothing I noticed in implantation. If I wasnt activly trying I'd have just thought my period was coming a little early yesterday 😊

Maybe I was a bit nauseous a week ago but that's all I remember.
I know for a fact that my boob (one boob) is killing me though now.

Just trying to manage any anxiety now for first trimester worries.
