First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

@BubblesNSnuggles ah you've filled me with hope! I'm so happy you got your BFP after getting BFN. It's refreshing to hear! Have you told your partner yet?

I really hope it is - I've just never seen this colour and so little of it other than when I had IB late with my first (which I thought was AF and didn't test until 6+ weeks!). 🤞🤞

BubblesNSnuggles · 04/02/2021 18:49

@Hallie91 keeping everything crossed for you.
I know what you mean about avoiding it for a while, it’s hard to see people’s BFPs sometimes when you are getting negatives - I felt the same.
I tested Monday evening (11dpo) and thought I had a shadowy line but it was hardly there, if at all. Tested Tuesday morning (12dpo) and completely negative. Made myself realise that I was out for this month and then tested yesterday evening just so I could be completely prepared for AF arriving today without it crushing me completely, fully expecting a negative. We were very shocked to see a positive. Have also got a positive on a digital this morning too.
It’s definitely possible to get a BFP after a late(ish) BFN. I spent yesterday morning googling how likely it was giving myself some hope never thinking for a second that I’d get a positive.
It also sounds like implantation bleeding from what you’ve described. Positive baby vibes your way!

Hallie91 · 04/02/2021 18:27

@BubblesNSnuggles amazing!!! So good to hear a late BFP too! I'm 12dpo today and pretty sure I'm having implantation bleeding. I got a BFN yesterday. 😩

Hallie91 · 04/02/2021 18:25

Hi everyone! I've not been posting as I got BFN after BFN and was beating myself up a bit about it. But it is so lovely seeing the BFPs ❤️

Yesterday at 11dpo I thought I saw a very faint line.

Then today I've had very very pink spotting which I'm wondering is IB?

I'm due AF in the next few days but this doesn't feel like the start of her and never this colour.

Has anyone implanted late with BFN and had a BFP after?

Kittysw · 04/02/2021 12:37

@BubblesNSnuggles congratulations. So excited for you :)

@Aubyone 100% It really does make a world of difference. For me into this whole cycle my mindset has been so different. I haven't been trying to symptom spot or tempted by testing. I'm 7DPO today and by this point in my last cycle I was driving myself mad! Much more chilled about the whole thing now. I just hope I can stay that way going forward until we see a BFP.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Aubyone · 04/02/2021 12:25

Massive congrats @BubblesNSnuggles!

Just come to the end of my first cycle TTC with an early AF! I've learnt so much this cycle though - now know how to use OPKs, how to chart, that I can ovulate (yay - always had this irrational fear that I wasn't even with no proof) and most importantly that testing early is not good for my sanity and I won't be doing it again!

So I feel a little disappointed, but also quite accomplished today, and I am really looking forward to opening some red wine tonight, and getting back into lots of sexytime once AF goes away! I'm feeling a little concerned about my short luteal phase (10 days this month, but 12 last) but also reminding myself I am only 2 cycles from when I came off my pill, so maybe it will lengthen.

I remember some of the ladies earlier in this thread like @KittySw and @Grace185 feeling so much better after AF arrived, to look ahead at the next cycle and I didn't fully get that at that point (I'm a couple of weeks behind you) but I totally get that now. I feel significantly better in myself today with AF than yesterday with just a BFN but a slight glimmer of hope. Bring on cycle 2!

ims0rrydarlingg · 04/02/2021 11:16

Congratulations @BubblesNSnuggles that's lovely news! Xx

@glassacorn I'm well thank you! Hope you are too xx I'm on CD50 now, no AF. Did have some small amount of spotting last night when I wiped , sorry TMI! But other than that, nothing. Tested last Friday and it was a BFN.

PositiveParrot · 04/02/2021 09:55

@BubblesNSnuggles congratulations! 🌼🌟 xx

Chels139 · 04/02/2021 08:55

@RoseP123 I'm sure we are. I've been reading how to get pregnant in 3 months naturally and all of the things said on here are what she suggests :) There are ALOT she suggest though and I'm like I already spend a fortune on OPKs haha! So just taking the most heard of ones.

@BubblesNSnuggles haha yea so many expressions. I had 'high' on OPKs for 9 days which felt like the longest time ever to DTD even though we only did it every other day. Ready for a rest now Wink

greenfrogs1 · 04/02/2021 08:13

Huge congrats @BubblesNSnuggles ! 🎉

RoseP123 · 04/02/2021 06:19

@BubblesNSnuggles congratulations! Amazing news Smile!! Fingers crossed the good news continues and there are some more BFP's in the group.

@glassacorn @Chels139 there's so much choice with supplements isn't there. Hopefully we're on the right path with what we're taking.

CD17 for me today, still getting a high reading on CB OPK - perhaps just a trial and error this month and see what happens next month! Confused

BubblesNSnuggles · 03/02/2021 21:46

Thanks everyone!

@LiGigi the first week is always boring isn’t it but no idea how you can look forward to the TWW - I dread it every time! 🙈

@Chels139 I’d heard good things about it too so its certainly worth giving a go. I think I used 2.5/3 whatever the measurement is and I want to say we used it five times as we Did the deed/ babydanced (whatever expression we like) five times over the fertile week.

He was watching the football so already quite on edge 🙈😂 he took it well though he did say he felt the same way he did as when I told him my waters had broken at 1am in the morning so think he was a mixture of emotions. He seems to have calmed down now.
I was shaking and crying so not exactly the picture calm of either 😂

LiGigi · 03/02/2021 21:24

@BubblesNSnuggles congratulations!!! So very happy for you! So encouraging to see another BFP on the thread :)

@Chels139 excited that you saw a peak! It may seem late but a peak is a peak so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I'm CD3 so fertile window is way off still... boring! Actually looking forward to the TWW :D

Chels139 · 03/02/2021 21:23

@BubblesNSnuggles I've read quite a lot of people getting their BFP after using it so fingers crossed. How much did you use?

How did your partner take the news?

BubblesNSnuggles · 03/02/2021 21:20

@Chels139 we used preseed for the first time this month - it could just be a coincidence (we didn’t use it when I conceived my little boy) but It may well have helped!
It does feel a bit strange doesn’t it but it was easier than I’d expected.

Chels139 · 03/02/2021 21:14

@BubblesNSnuggles eeeee congratulations, that's so exciting!!!

Honestly @glassacorn this feels like the longest cycle ever!!!

@RoseP123 I'm taking quite a lot of supplements but have done for quite a while for various things and now when reading up they help with conception too so fingers crossed. I take folic acid, omega 3, B12,B6, magnesium and selenium (only just started but apparently it prevents MC for when the time.comes)

Used preseed for the first time.last night. Very strange injecting it up you 🤣

glassacorn · 03/02/2021 20:52

@BubblesNSnuggles

Turns out you can get a negative at 12dpo and a positive at 13dpo!
This is awesome!!! Congratulations! 🎶 "What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours!" 🎶
BubblesNSnuggles · 03/02/2021 20:37

@glassacorn I’d say it’s looking good but not positive so far. Keep doing one or two day for the next few days and hopefully you’ll spot that peak 🤞🏻

BubblesNSnuggles · 03/02/2021 20:35

Turns out you can get a negative at 12dpo and a positive at 13dpo!

glassacorn · 03/02/2021 20:29

@RoseP123 I'm taking conception supplement and omega tablets as apparently they're a good idea - can't really tell a difference but I figured folic acid and vitamin D are helpful!

Hope you're doing well @ims0rrydarlingg!
Good luck @Chels139 - sounds like you've had a good crack at it this month!

@BubblesNSnuggles I'm CD20 and looking at some inconclusive OPKs (starting to wonder if I've a bad batch)! I think this one has a faint line (appeared after two minutes) - I did another which looked the same - opinions? 😅

BubblesNSnuggles · 03/02/2021 15:56

Hey all, how’s everyone doing? Where’s everyone at on their cycles at the minute.
AF due tomorrow for me - got a BFN at 12dpo so pretty sure she will be arriving.

RoseP123 · 02/02/2021 15:34

@Chels139 I know me too, I didn't think I would be this into it I thought i'd be more relaxed but now I can't stop reading things! At least i'm not the only one haha.

I have been taking folic acid supplements, along with COq10 and DHA. I had read it helps so thought why not - are you doing anything ? Smile

Chels139 · 02/02/2021 15:14

@RoseP123 yeah I had got used to the idea that I wasn't going to see a peak this month because it was so late and then saw it today. Finger's crossed you see yours! I'm finding it quite interesting finding out what goes on in our bodies - even if I do worry a lot haha.

Are you doing anything else in your TTC journey? Like supplements etc.

ims0rrydarlingg · 02/02/2021 14:21

CD48 and still no AF. Will probably test again in a few days.

Hope everyone's okay x

RoseP123 · 02/02/2021 12:43

Hi @Chels139

Yeah I think it will be a bit hit and miss this month, but hopefully it will give me a better idea for next month Smile I'll try a few more tests and see the results. At least you have seen a peak, and hopefully it will be lucky! Smile
