Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

I'm only 4DPO but I've woken up feeling very sicky today and have cramps in my left side. Might be overthinking things as I know it's probably too early but 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞🏻

Morning all! Sorry to hear about the unwelcome arrival of AF for so many. Even though you know the chances of pregnancy each month are slim, it’s still kicks hard when you know you’re out for the month.
I’m officially on my two week wait (about 2dpo) and I’ve asked my husband to hide the pregnancy tests this month. I’m an obsessive test taker 🙈😂
Being in lockdown doesn’t help either does it with very little to take our minds off it. I’ve started decorating our hall, stairs and landing to keep me busy 😂
Is anyone testing this weekend? Good luck if you are.

shannonl26 · 22/01/2021 23:18

@Grace185 hope AF has stayed away for you, mine arrived in FULLLLLL force today 😂

Here’s to CD1 ladies. ☺️

@Annabelle0852 so sorry your feeling shit. completely understandably so. Tomorrow is a new day & hopefully a better one at that.

LiGigi · 22/01/2021 16:57

Sending virtual hugs to you @Annabelle0852
TTC is a probability game and they got lucky first time. You will get lucky too very soon. I hope you can treat yourself to something nice today and try to relax into the process (I know it's easier said than done). I hope you feel better soon x

Grace185 · 22/01/2021 15:46

@Annabelle0852 sorry to hear you aren’t doing great today. But as @Eaststreet says it’s going to get better. I’m sure we’ll all get our BFPs soon enough. Head up x

Eaststreet · 22/01/2021 15:22

@Annabelle0852 I feel for you!! My OH’s friend (who I’m not a big fan of) announced she was pregnant the day I got AF too! It stings but it gets better. I’m staying positive and looking forward to trying again next week! I’ve even splashed out on the CB kit to cheer myself up.
Hope you’re ok Flowers

Annabelle0852 · 22/01/2021 15:00

Today I am crying and feeling sorry for myself. My OH's best friend has just announced their pregnancy. She only POAS this morning and they've told us already!

We didn't know they were trying. Fell pregnancy their first month. Could have been us. But while she had a BFP I have AF.

It's just one too many announcements today.

2020newbie · 22/01/2021 12:10

Just catching up congratulations ladies on you BFPs

DP has finally been furloughed just in time for my fertile week, trying to not get too consumed but it’s hard not to lol

Grace185 · 22/01/2021 11:01

Definitely got af cramps this morning :( just would like her to turn up now!

Grace185 · 21/01/2021 22:56

@shannonl26 haha yeah it wasn’t good. The cup collection next time I have to do it! Hope they aren’t af cramps for you, I’m still having cramps but more like stabbing and stretching pains rather than my normal af dull low stomach ache so no idea.

shannonl26 · 21/01/2021 22:53

@Grace185 so sorry but I did lol at you peeing all over your stick 😂😂 glad your feeling ok though.

shannonl26 · 21/01/2021 22:49

@LiGigi welcome to the madness!!

Hope I haven’t missed anything ladies, work has been crazy. Premom says AF due today but Flo says AF due Saturday, no sign as of yet. But I woke up with a beastly spot & what I would say is 99.9% AF cramps so I’m just awaiting her arrival now.

Has anybody tested or due to test this weekend??

Kittysw · 21/01/2021 18:29

Hi @LiGigi I feel calm now but I can almost guarantee I will be crazy again come the next TWW.

Hopefully AF doesn't come @Grace185 and you get a BFP :)

Grace185 · 21/01/2021 17:09

@LiGigi haha it is, I’ll be doing the cup collection trick next time. Hopefully af doesn’t come and can do it next week :)

LiGigi · 21/01/2021 16:55

@Grace185 who would have thought that peeing on a stick is so hard!! I thought I was pregnant earlier last year even though we weren't trying and did exactly what you did. I guess that's why they sell the tests in packs Grin will keep my fingers crossed for you for the next test :)

@Annabelle0852and @Kittysw I love your chilled mindset. TWW does crazy things to us but we can't let it get the best of us.

Grace185 · 21/01/2021 16:04

Hi @LiGigi welcome! Nice work on your first month! I’m coming to the end of mine, you can read about my idiotic move today above ^ so looking forward to af arrive if and getting started again :)

LiGigi · 21/01/2021 16:01

Hi ladies, I've spent hours reading this entire thread and you ladies are the loveliest so I hope I can join :)

I'm 29 and first proper month of TTC. Well... TTC kind of :D I've been going on about babies forever to my partner and a few months ago we just started having unprotected sex. He's super chill and so this approach makes sense. Though like many of you, I've researched for hours, put myself on folic acid supplements, been cutting out caffeine and this month started OPKS. It's the first month I know for a fact we DTD after a peak OPK test so I'm secretly hopeful. TWW is driving me mental though so I was so glad to find this thread with you lovelies being so supportive.

Anyway I'm 2 DPO now and AF due early Feb. Let's see what happens.

@PineappleSun and @RadDarwazeh congrats on your BFPs!

Grace185 · 21/01/2021 14:33

@Tryingforbaby91 yeah as soon as I did it I was like ‘what an idiot’ but oh well haha. Yeah I’ll just wait it out now I’ve had my fix!

Tryingforbaby91 · 21/01/2021 14:31

@Grace185 haha 😂 I can't blame you. I've done a few tests since last month, even when knowing the chances were next to none. I get what you're saying about feeling better, even if it didn't work. Try to keep busy and with positive thoughts! And if the AF does come you'll have another chance next month 😊

Grace185 · 21/01/2021 14:06

@Tryingforbaby91 I caved! but it was quite comical as I completely messed it up and peed all over it (lovely) with mid day wee. So no idea what to think. It was a cheap one and the ink bled everywhere. No line at all but that’s ok, I kinda just needed to do it today to see. It’s made me realise I’m ok with a negative as we can just try again. I’ll just wait for af and think about retesting next week if needed. I’m actually much calmer after it even with no line!

I hope I’m like that too @Annabelle0852 :) even with what just happened I’m feeling much more calm and will just wait for af to start again :)

Eaststreet · 21/01/2021 12:19

@Kittysw totally relate to this! Even though AF has arrived I’m now feeling more optimistic for next month again! The TWW is the worst 🙈 glad to be out of it and into the next cycle!

Kittysw · 21/01/2021 12:18

@Grace185 I am CD4 so literally all just started again. I'm trying to get my DF to try and understand the whole ovulation thing and there is a peak time to DTD but he just cannot grasp that concept.

@Annabelle0852 100% I'm going to try and carry this chill feeling on now and not get over excited in the TWW. I feel like I'm more prepared now for the next cycle though which is good :)

Annabelle0852 · 21/01/2021 12:11

@Kittysw Completely agree about mindset out of the TWW. I definitely got weirdly obsessive and having the first cycle done and a new one ahead I feel like a new woman! Already feel less stressed! I hope I can keep this zen feeling going now and I can stay relaxed from here on out.

Tryingforbaby91 · 21/01/2021 12:08

@Grace185 I stopped taking the mini pill at the beginning of December. It's been a long wait for AF to come (at least it felt really long 😅). Are your cramps any different this month? Maybe it's best to wait? I know it's really hard when it's all you can think about but you can get a false negative if you test too early too!

FieldView · 21/01/2021 11:47

Ahh @Eaststreet I know the feeling - it knocked me a bit too. I think it was the realisation that this can be quite a long process that got me. I'm already looking at when I can start again with the OPKs - talk about wishing my life away... 🙄
