Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

@VinoMerino

Can I ask, I'm on my first month ttc and I've been offered the Covid vaccine but would need to postpone ttc for 6 months Sad have any of you had the vaccine? Or are you happy to go ahead without it? I don't want to postpone ttc really Sad
Best thing to do is talk to your GP. 🙂 It's a balance of risks. It is known that pregnant women are slightly more at risk of adverse events if they catch it (with some demographics even more so), then any existing conditions (e.g. respiratory issues) also increase your personal risk. Some TTC women I know have been advised to have it, as the risk of them catching it is higher than the risk to a potential pregnancy and the chances (front line NHS) of being exposed to high viral loads is also high.

@shannonl26 We're back in the game :) Bring on the fun week. I love the snow but my DF hates it. I even tried to get him to go for a walk in it last night. He was having none of it. So I took myself out for a little walk today whilst he was working.

@VinoMerino like @BubblesNSnuggles said I think it really depends on your situation. I will be well down the list for vaccines so it isn't something I have given much thought. How much difference is the vaccine going to make to you personally in your work and life in general vs maybe age and situation with TTC. Again also not much help I'm sorry.

In other news with my life. Still furloughed but... the builders are in on Saturday to put up a wall between our living room and dining room and start our new utility room, and the electrician is in on Thursday to do lots of random bits including fitting lovely downlighters on the front of the house. (This is all I have to get excited about...Sad I know)

BubblesNSnuggles · 25/01/2021 20:34

Hi all. 4dpo and not lost my marbles yet. With my little boy I got a positive test at 8dpo so by 7dpo Ill be itching to test 🙈😂

@VinoMerino I’ve had the same thoughts. I won’t be offered the vaccine for a while but I’ve considered what I’d do if I’m still TTC when the time comes. I suppose you’d have to weigh up the risks and it’d depend on your personal situation. Sorry, that doesn’t really help does it.

Also, really want a Nando’s now 😂

shannonl26 · 25/01/2021 20:28

Hey ladies sorry I’ve missed a few days.

Hope everyone is feeling ok & those of you who are due to test soon, how are you?

My AF lasted 3 short days which is unusual for me, I’ve had periods last upto 14 days before! All PMS symptoms gone too so I’m just swaying ovulation now ☺️

I’ve had horrendous snow/ice, working on top of a mountain has it’s downfalls 😂 anybody else had bad snow?

PineappleSun · 25/01/2021 19:52

@LiGigi must be that peri peri!
No morning sickness yet, I have noticed that I'm barely losing any hair in the shower and brushing it, weird but not much else to report.

LiGigi · 25/01/2021 19:22

@PineappleSun omg! How crazy is that! If it is a baby, I think we will have sufficient evidence to say that Nando's helps conception Grin
Have you developed any other symptoms? Morning sickness?

@PineappleSun

Hi all, hope I can join you. I'm on cycle 1 trying for #1. I had my implant out in October and went on pre conception vitamins. I'm currently 3dpo and amazed at how obsessed I am already! I did try opk for the first time but didn't really know what I was doing so not too optimistic this month, got a 50 pack coming tomorrow so hopefully will get better with those. Having said all that I do feel bloated and have sore nips but probably a combination of wishful thinking and the massive nandos for tea Grin
Thought I was having deja vu when I read your post @LiGigi... Could be a baby you know Grin
Chall139 · 25/01/2021 14:21

@LiGigi - mine are the same about 30-33 days! I'll just have to keep being patient haha! Not my strongest suit!

DizSquiz · 25/01/2021 14:13
@Chall139 how long are your cycles? I ovulated on CD 19 this month but then my cycles are about 30-33 days. Best to keep testing :)

I'm sat here amusing myself that I feel twinges and pulls on the left hand side of my lower tummy and thinking: is this implantation or just the massive Nandos I had last night Grin trying to keep it real, you know.
Twinges in boobs too but I wouldn't say they're mega sensitive so who knows. Only 6 DPO so yeah... probably getting ahead of myself.

How are you ladies doing today?
Hey! Sounds like we have the same cycle, I thought I felt some twinges too... but I do think I'm out this month as I never experienced any EWCM

LiGigi · 25/01/2021 13:31

Chall139 · 24/01/2021 20:12

Hey ladies I havent been on for a while and wow, lot has been going on! Congrats to the BFP!

I'm CD 15 and still showing no sign of ovulating. Clue reckons it might be around day 20 but still feeling a bit disappointed every time I get low on the clear blue test. But it's the first cycle and I have no idea when I ovulate.

Congrats @PineappleSun!! That's what I'm most scared of too but stay positive!

PineappleSun · 24/01/2021 18:44

Thanks @Kittysw and @LiGigi i'm sure you're right, its not like affection is on a meter.

@Aubyone in all honesty, I don't feel that different, a bit tired, boobs ache like hell but that's it really. Terrified of miscarriage is the main thing getting to me, i'm not a lucky person and this feels too lucky.
Also I'm not sure there is tmi on this thread, I never had any obvious CM in my life, all this egg white business is a complete mystery to me so I say carry on DTD!

emilyylouise · 24/01/2021 14:55

@Kittysw

Oooo interesting! I hardly ever dream so to have 2 in one night is very bizarre 🙈 I'm also SO hungry

Kittysw · 24/01/2021 14:52

@emilyylouise one of my friends had vivid dreams when she was pregnant so I think this could be. I'm sure someone else on this thread mentioned before about vivid dreams.

@LiGigi If you can wait until your missed period I would. I didn't last cycle and I think it may how annoyed me more than if I would of just waited for AF to show up. Plus it's cheaper than using up tests for the sake of it.

@Grace185 I think lots of fun is the way to go! :)

emilyylouise · 24/01/2021 14:21

Has anyone had vivid dreams as a symptom before? 5DPO today and got woken up twice last night 😫 I'm also struggling to go to the toilet... TMI sorry

LiGigi · 24/01/2021 14:02

Hi ladies!

@PineappleSun I think it's always special for their parents when another one of their children starts a family. My dad is one of 4 and I know my nan was always so delighted with each announcement.

For those of you starting a new cycle - glad you're focused on having fun this month. Maybe it'll take the pressure off when TWW comes. Sending you lots of baby dust!

I'm 5 DPO now and have all the usual PMS symptoms. Femometer is telling me I could test mid next week but AF is due 3rd Feb and I want her to be way late before I test. Feeling pretty cool and calm about it all. If it doesn't happen this month, no biggie. For most people TTC is a process and I'm OK with that :)

Grace185 · 24/01/2021 13:11

@Kittysw I’m not doing opks either so just having a lot of fun haha!

Aubyone · 24/01/2021 12:55

Morning all - have missed a few pages but caught up - sorry for those feeling down or worried, here's to a new month for all Smile

I believe I am ovulating today - had a 'peak' OPK yesterday and some signs there but not really getting particularly fertile CM (sorry if tmi but I think that's a given for this forum!). Been enjoying DTD veery much though so all good - slightly nervous that I will become obsessive by next weekend in the TWW - first one for me!

@PineappleSun and @RedDarwazah how are you getting on? So curious about what it feels like to be so newly pregnant - you must be v excited!

Kittysw · 24/01/2021 12:23

I'm almost done with AF so now the fun begins. Not going to be doing OPKs or anything just going with the flow (laughing at myself right now) I can normal tell when I'm ovulating with CM and its normally CD12/13 for me and has been for the last few months.

@PineappleSun as long as it's special for you have you OH that's all that matters. My and my DF are both only children so that's something that going to be new to our family.

Sorry to hear about AFs turning up but it's a fresh month for you to focus on. :)

PineappleSun · 23/01/2021 20:36

How are all of you fine ladies doing this evening? I'm sorry to hear about AF and irritating announcements. I am the youngest of four siblings and the last to have children so I feel like my news isn't going to be particularly special when I do share it, so I understand the deflated feeling.
Who is still to test this month, any symptoms to spot? Smile

Annabelle0852 · 23/01/2021 09:58

Sorry for being a depressy pants yesterday and thank you for everyone being kind.

Woke up to news a colleagues baby was born last night! The baby fever doesn't end!!

But feeling better about it all today after a good sleep. Still a little self pitying! 😂 but considerably better than yesterday.

Thanks again and baby dust to all.

Grace185 · 23/01/2021 09:03

@shannonl26 I’m CD1 again today too! Here’s to starting all over again! My body majorly tricked me this month with spotting, cramps and major back pain. Gonna try not think about it so much this time 🙄
