Mine are adopted but 4 days short of 9 months apart. They came home under age 2 and the first year was hard work but now age 6 and 5 they are great and we don’t regret having siblings so close on age. They are best of friends (90% of the time) and have such a great bond. Congrats if it is pregnancy !

From that FRER you are most definatley pregnant and that is not a faint line it is very obvious. You need to see your doctor ASAP OP as due to the c section you will need to be monitored as your pregnancy progresses and your stomach grows due to the weakend abdominal wall and womb. Whatever you decide to do good luck and hope it works out for you

Actually, I'd be suspicious that it could be left over hormones from your last pregnancy. If you had sex 3 weeks ago, then you'd be at least 4-5 weeks pregnant now. A FRER detects 6mmol of hCG and a digital around 25mmol. I'd expect a digital to also be positive by this point. If you are unsure, you could try another digital in around 4 days. If it's positive then the hCG is increasing and you're pregnant. If not, it looks more likely to be left over hormones.

I've never heard of this, I feel like midwifes should tell you this before discharging you.

@SOFIE90 I was told in the hospital before being discharged and again by dr at my 6 week check. They should def tell everyone this as it is a risk.

My friend fell pregnant 8 weeks after a csection and she was fine. Obviously it's not the same for everyone and there are risks.

I knew someone this happened to. She had to have an early c section at 34 weeks as there was apparently a risk of uterine rupture beyond that. She was fine and baby was fine too.

Please call the doctor tomorrow. I had a c section then a VBAC 2 years 4 month later. Went okay except for a retained placenta. This is common after a section but was caused by a negligent midwife. I then had another baby 22 months later and then had real issues with my scar. You are clearly much more in a potentially scary situation so please call tomorrow. My scar was not sewn up properly and I had to have it redone 15 months later and that might be why I had the later issues but even with that you are barely months after being operated on so really need advice. Don't hesitate.

What made you take a test? Did you have any symptoms?

Would you be happy if you are pregnant?

I got caught 8 months after having my son (we had previously been told we were infertile and had multiple rounds of ivf to have my son)

Hope you're okay OP, I would ring your gp and test again in a week.

I'd highly recommend seeing your gp or midwife, I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with my second, fell pregnant when DD was 4 months old (planned) and was told I'd have consultant led care as my pregnancies are so close together, and I had a natural delivery not a csection, I imagine a csection will need longer to fully heal.

My doctor and my health visitor warned me that it's very easy to conceive again in the first few months after giving birth... Good luck OP.

Please don't panic. I do feel that people do love to scare sometimes. If you are pregnant (which it looks like you are) although it is very rare with proper exclusively breastfed babies then you need to speak to your doctor. Don't think for one second you are the first or last to be in this position. No it's probably not ideal but when is life ideal? Congratulations on your baby and your pregnancy! 👍

Agree with pp that getting pregnant so soon after a section can be dangerous. They recommend 1 year, but 6 months min. If you aren't healed properly then the scar can split as your uterus grows again. Which is obviously life threatening for mum and baby.
It is unlikely to be left over hormones so please see a dr ASAP for a blood test/scan and advice.

I’m 19 weeks post birth now and the idea of being pregnant again right now horrifies me (even though we want another in the future) so if you’re less than happy about this then I’m sorry and take the time you need to make whatever decision you need to. But yes, while it’s unusual I think it would be much more unusual to be related to your newborn DC pregnancy.
