@ElizabethP141 I had a really light first AF off the pill as well. I hear it's normal, and things should slowly revert to normal (although may take a few months). I don't think a light AF has an effect on chances of conceiving though - or at least, fingers crossed it doesn't!

@MissC07 totally get how you're feeling with worried about fertile week and OH. I had a surprise positive OPK this month earlier than anticipated, and so pretty much demanded we DTD that eve to OH. He doesn't have the highest sex drive and was feeling tired that day already, and it stressed him massively and he couldn't perform either. Then I got frustrated and upset that we couldn't DTD perfectly timed in FW. We had a long talk about it and I realised how much I'm putting my TTC stress onto him and I need to chill out about everything. In his words 'I'm not a performing seal!' and 'our relationship is more important than perfectly timed sex'. We ended up DTD the next morning after an emotional 12hours as we both felt more relaxed about things then.
So now I am trying not to stress so much about timings etc, and just relax about the whole thing as he definitely picks up on my stress.
Not sure if this is helpful to you, just wanted to let you know you're not alone as this really upset me when it happened at the weekend.

My follicular phase was short last cycle ( 8 days) so I'm hoping it will be longer this time but will start doing OPKs just in case! I don't want to miss it if my FP is tiny again :)

Thank you so much for responding! It is so good to hear of others having this experience. I've got to say there's not much out there about post pill experiences, lots of doom and gloom so it's great to hear first hand :)

I think AF has finished today so I'm going to start LH tests (is that OPK?? New to these acronyms!) and see what happens!

@ChinChilly My OH is so stressed with work at the moment it's making things even worse. Maybe I'll tactically tell him to book a few days off that happen to be around my next FW 😂

Morning ladies... so, did a FRER this morning and CB and it’s definitely a BFP. Can’t quite believe it.

I thought I’d share my journey as I always enjoyed reading these from other people and may be helpful.

I came off the pill (yasmin) on September 21st, had my withdrawal bleed as usual. Then nothing... I waited for a few weeks then decided to start doing opks and tracking bbt. I think my body tried to ovulate a few times but failed. I started to get a bit disheartened and wondered if something was wrong with me after about 2 months. I was doing about 3 or 4 OPKs a day by this point. I finally ovulated on 2nd Jan.

I also started taking pregnacare soon after I came off the pill. I actually decided to stop taking it a week before I ended up ovulating as I didn’t think it was helping, and just stuck to folic acid. No idea if it’s linked to my ovulation but thought I’d mention.

I really didn’t think this month was my month - I didn’t start feeling any different until a couple of days ago. The one thing that did make me wonder though is that I’ve been having the most mental dreams, like off the scale weird and so vivid!

Here’s a quick overview of symptoms by DPO:

1DPO - sore nips, EWCM

2DPO - sore nips, cervix low and hard

3DPO - sore nips, lower back pain in the evening

4 and 5DPO - no symptoms other than temp going up each day, nipples aren’t as sore

6DPO - random sharp twinges, temp went up

7-8 DPO - constipated, thirsty

9DPO - constipated, felt a bit queasy in the morning

10DPO - woke up with weird AF cramps, very faint BFP (almost unreadable though), crazy dreams again

11DPO - BFP on IC (very faint). Woke up with a stinking cold. Felt pretty rough throughout the day (cold, headache, tired). On and off cramps and on and off sore boobs

12DPO - BFP on FRER and CB. Hungry! Boobs sore on and off

I also just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread - I remember finding this and thinking ‘thank god’ as I realised so many people were having wire experiences coming off of the pill and I wasn’t alone.

I really hope everyone on this thread gets their BFP soon! Sending all the baby dust. X

@ChinChilly Your chart looks good! I'm also in the green squares, tried to DTD last night but DP couldn't 'perform' so now I feel awful incase I'm stressing him out with TTC and also stressing myself out feeling like I may have 'lost' a fertile day 😫

@ElizabethP141 Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ my first few periods off the pill were short and light, actually only my last 2 or 3 have been a ‘normal’ pill.

I feel like something is starting to happen here, FF has me down as fertile, I’ve got a green traffic light 😂 and the days are hightlighted in green on the calendar, assuming that’s what that means? RHR has also gone up, it seems abit early for things to be happening at CD10 but who knows 😂

Hi ladies! Thought I would pop back on and see how everyone is getting on? Tried to catch up but way too many messages since I was last here 🙃
I'm now 2 weeks post op and sat on my hands waiting for a negative. Tests are moving in the right direction but expect a little way off negatives at the moment. Having good and bad day. The fact I'm posting at 4.30am means this is probably a bad day 😂😂

@elizabethp141 welcome! Yes, short and light periods are quite common when coming off the pill, mine got heavier after about 4 or 5 cycles. Your LP seems like a good length but you FP is a little on the short side, hopefully that will correct itself in time 😊

@nellieee yes, I did an OPK. Still negative. Im down to my last 3 again... hopefully my Amazon order will arrive soon 😬😬😬😂

@ElizabethP141 hi there! Mine are short and light post pill too. I have more spotting too. I think most people on this group have experienced short periods post pill, but quite long cycles. Your cycles sound like they are on the shorter side (nine are too), but hormones will probably not have settled since coming off the pill. I'd keep monitoring for the next few cycles and see if they settle.

@Kay00 did you POAS? It might give some clues and show progression. Totally understand if you were fed up with them this month though

@FlyingGiraffe I went straight from three days of blank circles CD9-11 to a peak on CD12 😬 I was backing up with line OPKs so knew there was a progression. I should have started testing on CD7, but my order was delayed 🙈

@Flowers222 sorry you are feeling bad. It's a rollercoaster of hormonal emotions. And this year has been so shit. Until AF comes, you're still in with a shot. But have some me time, long bath, get lost in a book. As the other girls have said, look after yourself!!

Hi ladies, I’ve found this post after doing a search about short periods so hope there’s room for one more!

I came off the pill mid November and me and my husband are TTC. I’ve been using Natural Cycles app which has been great but my last two periods seem to be really short- has anyone had this??

NC app confirmed ovulation on 29th Dec due to positive LH and higher BBT. Started having a period on Monday (13 days later) which seems pretty normal but it’s almost gone away this afternoon! My follicular phase before ovulation last cycle was only 5 days too so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone having a similar experience with cycle lengths?!

@flyinggiraffe I’ve been looking at SMEP and considering it for this month but it sounds so intensive 😂 the OH will love it but I don’t know if I could keep it up
