It’s that time again, the 6th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few.

Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Moocher90 sounds to me like your vaginal temp may be more accurate and you've already ovulated and are in the LP - would explain your OPK's being stark white as well. I use a vaginal thermometer as I intermittently snore/mouth breath and so could never be sure if oral would be accurate or not

Moocher90 · 30/12/2020 10:04

@Kay00 and @TheDaydreamBelievers

Yes it is quite possible I’m a mouth breather. I ordered a new thermometer yesterday and it’s the femometer brand and it’s just arrived via Amazon so shall check it out and use it tomorrow. Maybe it’s the battery in my old one and not giving me accurate temps.

I will make sure I’m still BDing in any case every other day and temping and doing OPKs daily. Don’t want to miss the opportunity this cycle.

Kay00 · 30/12/2020 09:08

@moocher90 haha, im a mouth breather. Best to stick with the same method (oral) for this cycle but experiment with a different thermometer or new batteries? Do you have your temps recorded in a chart to share with us?

@minipilling sorry to hear about your anxiety, I suffer with anxiety too... and have episodes of panic attacks, its not fun is it 😔 I wouldn't think too much about the outside world, just focus on your own personal mission to get pregnant 😊 it can take a little while so its good to get started, and your withdrawal bleed is a great start! Im 35 years old too and I have been off the pill for about 6/7 months, this is my 4th cycle actively trying.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/12/2020 08:45

@Moocher90 this may sound daft but maybe you've just been sleeping with your mouth wide open? I'd happily do vaginal temps only but it's such a clean up during AF 😅

Moocher90 · 30/12/2020 07:21

So today I do not know what to think.... my oral temp was 35.99 and my vaginal temp was 36.46....that’s a lot of discrepancy there. I don’t feel cold either. My temp has never dropped as low as 35.99 before!

I have ordered a new thermometer as not really sure why the discrepancy is so much.
My OPKs are still stark white from testing FMU but will continue to test later. My RHR is 70 too. Will also continue to BD just in case I have not ovulated

Anyone got any ideas?

minipilling · 30/12/2020 05:17

Hello, hoping I can join. I'm just on my first bleed after Cerelle (usually no periods at all on it). I have endometriosis so it sucks. Had sex a few times straight off the pill but I guess nothing happened yet! Hopefully I stop bleeding soon. Currently having a crisis of TTC conscience because of all the Covid bad news. I'm worried about contracting it if I get pregnant, whether that's through going for scans, or possible MC and having to attend hospital... I'm vulnerable but not on any list, just chronically ill. But I'm past 35 now so can't really wait. Really struggling with anxiety :(

Kay00 · 29/12/2020 23:48

@ams19 sending you and your partner lots of hugs for tomorrow x❤x

@crabette sorry to hear about your grandmother 😔

Sperr · 29/12/2020 21:37

@Cams50 we DTD today so I feel safe again and I’ve told him he owes me an extra this month so 🤞 for a peak tomorrow and I can get another in 😂

@AMS19 hope you’re alright and will be thinking of you 💖

Flowers222 · 29/12/2020 20:22

@Katelyn99 yes you can have a slow rise after ovulation, it is not always a big spike for everyone. I mostly have a slow rise, like my one last month, I have attached a photo. It took 3 days to get a clear rise. It looks like with your OPK and temps on the rise you have ovulated. But best to keep temping and see what happens in the next few days to see if your temps stay up. You need a sustained rise for 3 days to confirm ovulation.

My first cycle after the withdrawal bleed was 38 days so this is my first month TTC and I need some advice.
I got a peak OPK on CD18 but have not got a spike in my temp yet. Can the spike post ovulation be a gradual increase?
I'm now also getting EWCM today on CD20, is this normal or could I have not ovulated yet?

MissC07 · 29/12/2020 17:57

@AMS19 I hope everything goes ok tomorrow

@crabette Sorry to hear about your grandmother Thanks

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/12/2020 17:55

@ams19 wishing you all the best for tomorrow ❤. Let me know if I can help in any way.

My temps are on the rise so I'm potentially getting some variation in cycle back!

Flowers222 · 29/12/2020 17:14

@crabette I'm really sorry to hear about your grandmother.

@Robyn101 that does look like a really strong peak so hopefully this is it now with that dip!

@AMS19 I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

Moocher90 · 29/12/2020 15:26

@AMS19 will be thinking of you x I hope you are doing the best you can x

crabette · 29/12/2020 15:03

@AMS19 aw I hope it goes ok. ❤️❤️❤️

AMS19 · 29/12/2020 14:47

Thanks @crabette ❤❤ I'm booked in for surgery tomorrow so can at least then start to move forward. So sorry to hear about your nan. Sendixg you lots of love xx

Cams50 · 29/12/2020 14:33

@Moocher90 oh I see. I didn’t realise that. Hopefully it’s that then ☺️ X

Moocher90 · 29/12/2020 14:27

@Cams50 there is such a thing as a fallback rise at 2DPO where progesterone still hasn’t risen enough as estrogen is still dominant but not sure if that is the case. Only time will tell over next few days. I will continue to do OPKs and BD when I can. I’m back at work for the next 3 days and do shift work.

FF definition: A normal ovulation pattern when your temperature rises then drops slightly immediately after ovulation and then rises again

"A fallback rise is where the basal body temperature will drop for a single day to or below the coverline, even after it has already risen. This usually happens within days after ovulation. The temperature will then rise again above the coverline, usually the next day.

@crabette sorry to hear of the passing of your nan :( x

Cams50 · 29/12/2020 14:16

@crabette sorry to hear about your grandmother 😔 hope you’re ok. Here’s to a better new year hopefully x

crabette · 29/12/2020 14:03

Hi all. Sorry for being MIA! I lost my grandmother early December, and we were really close, so this month has been such a write off for me, though I have intermittently lurked to check up on you all! 🙈 Attached my chart just to demonstrate I have taken a grand total of 2 temperatures the entire month! CD27 today so I'm waiting for AF and then will get my head back into things.

Sending lots of Christmas and New Year magic baby dust to you all, and particular love to @AMS19 and @TheDaydreamBelievers ❤️ x

@Robyn101 that peak this morning looks really strong!! This MUST be it this time! Haha, time for more DTD!! You'll be exhausted after this Grin

@TheDaydreamBelievers also sending all the positive vibes that your body gets back to normal soon

Cams50 · 29/12/2020 13:34

@Sperr typical 😂 but glad you didn’t miss your peak. Fingers crossed you get one soon.

@Moocher90 hmm I wouldn’t have thought you’d have a temp drop so soon if you have ovulated. You haven’t had three consecutive rises have you? Think you need them and then it can drop after that. I think lp temps are ideally above 36.6 so maybe your body tried but hasn’t quite got there yet. Fingers crossed for you it has happened though or else it will very soon x

@Robyn101 that looks like a good drop today! Fingers crossed tomorrow is the day and it rises x

MissC07 · 29/12/2020 12:43

@Moocher90 thank you!!!
