It’s that time again, the 6th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few.

Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Juno231 - No, not that I am aware of. Although starting to worry i may potentially have it. As another symptom is delayed/all over the place cycles, which i won't know about until i get some normality back to my cycles :(

Again, will give it a few months and then attempt to see a GP if nothing by then.

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 16:47

@ChinChilly yeah definitely! As long as you don't take it in the LP you can start whenever.

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 16:38

@Juno231 nope no TMI around here 😂😂 I literally get a blob or 2 and that could be left over jizz lets be honest 😂 so I’m on CD3 do you think I could start taking it from tomorrow if i can get my hands on some?

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 16:33

@ChinChilly I take 2000mg from CD1 through to ovulation day and ever since I started doing that I get a lot of EWCM. If I have a rummage around there's plenty during FW and then during my most fertile days there's no need to rummage lol - it's all over when I wipe or ruins my knickers! No TMI here right haha?

@Delilah221 and you don't have pcos right? From what I gather it can be really tough losing weight with pcos. The pic firsttimemummy attached were of her pregnancy tests this week.

Sat here with a decaf coffee waiting for 5pm to hit so I don't have to pretend to work (I've done NOTHING this week, can't motivate myself at all, hate my job atm) and head out to get my steps in :)

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 16:30

@Delilah221 yeah she did make me feel abit like that, I felt like it was a totally pointless phone call. I’ve been lucky really I’ve never ended up in hospital for more than an xray...hope I haven’t just jinxed myself 😂

Delilah221 · 07/01/2021 16:22

@ChinChilly - It's horrible isn't it the way they can make you feel so belittled! I know what you mean, they're amazing but sometimes it's hard to deal with them.

I was actually born with Gastrochisis, so i've been in and out of hospital numerous times, it never gets any easier dealing with the GP's :(

It's horrible to have to wait 12 months for treatment.

I was sent to the GP by my personal trainer a while back, (It was a treat for myself for a month of sessions, didn't end well haha) But i ended up having blood tests and fortunately my thyroid was ok, but i really really struggle to loose weight which doesn't help. I went back about a year later and was refered to a dietician but never got any appointment through as Covid then began!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 16:16

@Delilah221 my doctor literally said a fertility doctor would treat the thyroid but they wouldn’t as primary care so come back when it’s been 12 months of trying 🙄 I wish we could afford to go private, I’m not knocking the NHS at all, but it can be really difficult with GPs at times

Delilah221 · 07/01/2021 16:13

@ChinChilly - Yes well worth waiting to say to the GP 'Yes i've waited 3 months!' They're so dismissive!

@Juno231 - It's bad isn't it! Just want to sit and relax with a glass (bottle) of wine!! Thanks - will check that cleanser out. I've always avoided anything on my face as i have such sensitive skin. I've fortunately always had good skin, but never wore make up or put anything on my face so was a shock to feel how bad my skins got!

@firsttimemummy321 - Ah welcome! It's exciting but also mentally draining at times! Trying to relax with it. Are those sticks the ones from amazon? The OPK ones? Sorry not heard of them before!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 16:07

@firsttimemummy321 I think I had a CP in November, I refused to test early so I can’t say for sure but im 99% it was pretty tough, as you know, so hoping this one sticks for you 🤞🏼

firsttimemummy321 · 07/01/2021 15:59

@Juno231 that's really interesting I've never thought about tracking rhr 🤞🏻 for you!! Aw thank you 💕 me too but whatever it is isn't looking promising just want to know why now 🙈 thank you so much! 🤞🏻 this is similar to what happened when we conceived our first my first cycle was a CP 🤦🏻‍♀️

@ChinChilly thank you I'll have a look :)

@Robyn101 I'm not sure how long but🤞🏻

@Flowers222 thank you, I'm so sorry you went through that 🤞🏻 for this cycle! We had a chemical when trying for our first and conceived him the next cycle so 🤞🏻 for you!

Hi @Delilah221 I've just joined as well! Good luck!! I found that when I stopped my pill after being on it for over 10 years to conceive our first I had a lot of symptoms and convinced myself I was pregnant but it was withdrawal from the pill. I found tracking with ovulation sticks helped me as I didn't want to get excited and spend lots on tests if I hadn't even ovulated yet. Try to enjoy the trying :)

@abi555 that's exciting but yeah moving can be super stressful and especially after you've been going through it for so long!

Mol234 · 07/01/2021 15:56

@Juno231 haha well I do go to the gym but I’m not an athlete by any means. It’s one of the reasons the doc has checked my thyroid as they’re linked (fingers crossed no issues but they seem to be quite common post pill!)

@abi555 definitely just keep testing! You will find your peak but I guess it’s annoying not knowing when to expect it whilst your cycle settles. I know what you mean about chatting, I actually get excited about taking my bbt as I love that it tells me what’s going on with my body haha

@Robyn101 pleeeease test at 11DPO haha I can’t wait til 14DPO either!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 15:50

@Kay00 @Juno231 what the situ with Evening primrose oil? I don’t think I have enough EWCM, around ovulation I get a general wet feeling down there but I don’t think I actually get that much EWCM just a few blobs on the run up to ovulation

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 15:48

@Delilah221 omg tell me about it, I'm on day 7 of dry january and I feel like the most hard done by person on the planet. Haven't had a take away since mid Dec I don't think and we normally have one once a week. Maybe a foaming cleanser from cerave could help you with the greasiness and spots? It seems to help me a bit.

@Robyn101 I'm with chinchilly - I can't wait until the 14th. Then again I live vicariously on your BFPs and have given up on my own lol.

Speaking of acne, last cycle I didn't really have any! Had maybe 2 spots whereas the cycle before I looked like I was imitating a pepperoni pizza. Fingers crossed that this is my new normal and not another exception.

Kay00 · 07/01/2021 15:46

@firsttimemummy321 well, I can certainly see lines on all of them, but they are very faint. Do you know (roughly) how many days past ovulation you are?

@Juno231 I ovulate completely randomly, my last cycle it was on CD24 (and I am currently on CD24) but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. My CM is watery/creamy but my cervix feels high and soft again. My OPK from midday was just 13%. Ovulation probably hasn't happened but here I am again... deciding whether to take EOP or eat pineapple Grin haha!!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 15:40

@Robyn101 I agree 11dpo you should get a result, plus I can’t wait until the 14th sorry 😂😂

@Delilah221 could be a good shout waiting to see the GP they can be so dismissive at the best of times, my TSH levels are high for TTC but normally under the NHS guidelines so I was completely fobbed off! Not sure how I’ve kept it off my eating habits have been pretty bad recently 🙄

Delilah221 · 07/01/2021 15:32

@ChinChilly - I feel much more at ease now about it! Also trying to give it at least 3 months as i feel that's all they will tell me if i go GP any time before then. Ah that's impressive managing to keep it off! I just look at a mince pie and gain weight!! So frustrating lol.

@Juno231 - Thank you for the welcome! I actually developed really greasy skin so ended up washing my face with shower gel last minute in the shower so now my skins gone really dry! :( Good luck with the health kick. I said to my OH today that even getting through 1 week without a glass of wine or a take away is a huge step for me! haha.

Robyn101 · 07/01/2021 15:32

@Juno231 haha you’re a bad influence I was like nope 14th then saw your message think we cross posted and now I’m like oooo I could do it this weekend 😂

Robyn101 · 07/01/2021 15:31

@abi555 completely that. We just don’t have the money to walk away from the thousands tied up in various deposits and suppliers so just got to hold our breath and wait

Righto so I’m gunna leave it till 14th if I can I’ve only got cheapy tests anyway as I’ve not planned that far ahead 😂 just planned for a period so best to give it enough time that it would show on them just incase - still trying to remain realistic and not symptom spot too much

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 15:26

@Robyn101 oh and if implantation was indeed to be today, you could maybe see a line on 10DPO? Def by 11DPO I think

OP posts:
Juno231 · 07/01/2021 15:24

@Delilah221 welcome! I don't think i had dry skin but I had terribly greasy skin and post pill acne instead lol. I also lost a lot of hair. It's nuts all the things it does to you isn't it! I've also gained weight during the past year so am on a bit of a health kick atm.

@Mol234 haha I think you fall under that category I mentioned of fit ladies whose RHR doesn't move much! 52 bloody hell, that's like athlete level!

@sperr oh that sounds promising, I'm rooting for you!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 15:18

@Delilah221 all seems normal to me but obviously if you’re worried drop your doctor a call, peace of mind an all! Yeah I think BMI charts are aload of s**t I think mine shows up at 26-27 I lost a stone before Christmas which by some miracle I’ve managed to keep off over Christmas. It’s definitely do-able through just eating better aslong as your in a calorie deficit. I used to be such a gym head but the thought of the gym sends a shiver down my spine 😂

@Sperr that’s all sounds good! Hopeing for a BFP for you!

Delilah221 · 07/01/2021 15:11

@abi555 - Oh gosh hope all goes well with contracts, what a horribly stressful time trying to move, especially in covid times! We are currently in the process of buying our next home and it's so long winded and stressful! Hope all goes well and you complete soon!

@ChinChilly - Ahh i'm so glad it's not just me! I was really worried and googled it and got some very scary answers as well as some normal ones so it's very confusing! According to the NHS i'm obese!! I'm not naive to the fact that I'm carrying a lot of extra fat.. but i do feel the BMI charts are a load of Balls!! And Ditto - I am not up for running, just seeing people run makes my body ache haha. Just focusing on stoping the drinking and eating more healthy!!

Sperr · 07/01/2021 15:08

@Juno231 he’s going pretty well so I’m impressed so far. He’s an all or nothing guy. He’s not worked out for months and now he’s doing this!

I’m trying to be cool (obviously I’m not being cool and I’ve been checking my RHR like a maniac since noticing 😂) but AF is due tomorrow and it’s actually gone up today! With Apple I’ve still got a few hours I reckon until it makes it’s mind up about a definite number but maybe 🤔 - i think tomorrow will be the real tell but last month I didn’t have a chance to get my hopes up so I missed out on the day dreaming of how I would reveal it to OH

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 15:07

@abi555 I think I will become addicted, Im obsessed with RHR so this will go down well! Yup house buying is super stressful, everything seems to move so slow! We brought with no chain of a family member and it was still a nightmare!

ChinChilly · 07/01/2021 15:03

@Delilah221 I was abit horrified when I saw the brown spotting, I remember getting it occasionally on the pill if I missed one or two. I mainly use premom for tracking as you can scan in your ovulation test results, I’ve also just downloads fertility friend for BBT. Im also overweight according to the NHS! I’m about 1-1 1/2 overwieght so trying to focus on healthy eating and lots of walking..too lazy to run 😂
