Thread 2!
Will try to tag everyone who was active recently in the old thread, but sorry if I missed anyone. And if you're one of the many who got BFPs in the old thread and you're currently wading through the dark depths of morning sickness, feel free to ignore us 😊

Hello Dragon Slayers!

Looking to join the team. Ovulating today I think, CD16 of 30. DTD every day for the last 8 days. TWW looming.

Anyone else bored of sex?!

unCliche · 28/01/2021 21:27

And by 'OPK is getting darker', I mean the second test I did this evening is darker than the one I did this afternoon 😁

unCliche · 28/01/2021 21:25

I think I'll ovulate on CD14. OPK is getting darker so I'll probably peak tomorrow and ovulate the day after. Phew!
Ah, I've bought a multi-mineral that has selenium in it too, I shall expect a lusher womb lining then 😂

How are your symptoms this TWW? Are you feeling anything? Implantation may have happened by now.

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 20:42

@unCliche well you'll see tomorrow morning anyway, whatever it is. Think Brazil nuts might build up womb lining or something, the selenium maybe? Not positive, they're just tasty 😁

unCliche · 28/01/2021 19:19

@HerringGull I'm not sure what pineapples are for tbh! I think it's meant to help with implantation or something but I always forget to eat it during the TWW! I've never heard the brazil nut one though, how do they help?

I'm a slow riser so my temps always increase gradually. But it would be off trend for me to ovulate this early so it's probably just a fluke!

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 16:19

@unCliche I ate some extra brazil nuts for a while, but actually that's just because I wanted an excuse to eat more! I didn't eat them when I conceived my first, so I stopped before I turned into a brazil nut Grin What is pineapple actually meant to do anyway?
I thought O dip when I saw your chart, but I think today it should have gone higher if that was the case. Definitely not if you haven't peaked yet anyway!

OP posts:
unCliche · 28/01/2021 16:15

@HerringGull well high temps can only be a good thing. Let's hope this cycle is your lucky one! Hehe have you ever tried any of those old wives' tales? I do eat pineapple but not for fertility 🤭

I O between CD14 and CD16. I started OPKs today and it looks like I might peak tomorrow (or may have already peaked??) so I'm expecting O to happen on CD14. Unless that's an ovulation dip in my chart? Though I doubt it!

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 15:21

@unCliche no, but technically I do have PCOS (even though it doesn't trouble me) so maybe my hormones are a wee bit crazy and vary cycle to cycle. Sorry - no magic solutions like eating pineapple and sticking brazil nuts up my nose...

You're right, I don't think your bracelet will be much affected by open mouth!! Grin When do you expect to O?

OP posts:
unCliche · 28/01/2021 15:17

I'm not sure. @HerringGull I wear a fertility bracelet on my wrist at night, which records my temps, so not sure how susceptible it would be to an open mouth 🤷‍♀️ haha I'm sure if I was manually using a thermometer mine would be zig zaggy too!

Your chart looks amazing! Such a distinct different in temperature. Your temp range is awesome too. 36.9 is so good! Did you do anything different this cycle?

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 14:17

@unCliche a funny dip that's for sure! I guess could've been something like sleeping with mouth open / colder than usual in the room etc? I only think it's unusual because it's your chart though - on my zigzaggy charts that wouldn't even be noticeable hehe

Here's my chart. I'm quite pleased with it this month as there's a bigger difference between FP and LP in temps. Last month was well dodgy!

@HerringGull currently cycle 5 but by the time we start treatment I would be on cycle 8 which might as well be cycle 12 which is pretty much infertility. If I was over 35 I'd be expected to see a GP next cycle so that pretty much concludes that it's taking a long time. I think knowing the help is there and I can afford it makes me feel better.

My chart is weird this cycle. How's yours looking?

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 12:32

Oh don't give up @unCliche! Are you on cycle 5 or 6? Like obviously it's good to be realistic but also positive! I don't think that you necessarily have anything to worry about at all - so many people take ages to conceive but they still do. I can see that it's good to have a back-up plan though, so that in those nasty BFN moments you can think 'there's still plan B' kind of thing. I do get it.

Hey hey! @HerringGull yes, definitely go for 12DPO. I've read testing in the evening shows a darker line than FMU for some people, so evening of 14DPO will probably be fine too.

I'm CD12 today. Not much is happening tbh. DH and I are considering doing IUI if we don't conceive in the next few months. His sperm quality is excellent but his count is slightly low but not terrible. Plus I think for my own sanity, it'd be good to get pregnant sooner rather than later, so I've warmed to the idea of fertility treatment 😅 I've basically stopped expecting to get pregnant naturally and now I'm just waiting for us to move house then we can start treatment.

HerringGull · 27/01/2021 22:16

@EllyNC haha probably a year or more before we finish extension! We're doing most of the work ourselves but both work full-time too 😆
Do you think 14dpo with a good hold would be as likely to be accurate as fmu two days earlier? I've never done a test in the evening!
Hope you have a good ready salted crisp supply!

@unCliche how are you doing? Xx

OP posts:
EllyNC · 27/01/2021 22:10

Also @HerringGull I reckon go for 12dpo!! Or a very long hold and 14dpo evening!

EllyNC · 27/01/2021 22:10

Lol that’s funny @HerringGull I was allll about salt and vinegar last time Too! This time round I just want ready salted which is weird as I’m not usually a fan, find them so boring!! Lol I started feeling better At about 10 weeks last time so 🤞🏻 It’s the same this time around!!
Hmmm yeah ok I see your point about the nails and stuff having to be cleared away, that would be a pain in the arse!! When do you think your extension will be done?

Cc7750 · 27/01/2021 14:50

No puppy for me, I have 2 fat cats! x

HerringGull · 27/01/2021 14:06

Oh no it was @Pudding01 who had a puppy wasn't it!! How's your pup doing, Pudding?

OP posts:
HerringGull · 27/01/2021 14:01

@EllyNC yup I hear you on the crisps! Last time I could only eat salt and vinegar, so couldn't even vary the flavour! I think 8 weeks was the worst so hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here on for you.

Thinking of testing on Sunday, which would be 12dpo. I would rather wait until 14dpo or more, but if I do that then DH wouldn't be here (working weekdays). Chances of accurate result on a digi (that's what I have) are 90% on 12dpo so that seems pretty good. What do you reckon the chances would be if I did it on 14dpo but in the evening instead of FMU?

Ah I thought it was you that had a pup - maybe it was @Cc7750 then? Was ages ago we were talking about them so I've forgotten!
At the moment we only have a small area downstairs that is not carpetted - just the hall and a tiny kitchen, so the pup would be limited to that for a few weeks until house trained. It doesn't feel fair really! Once we have the extension we will have more hard floor space and it will be much easier. Also I reckon building would be a pain with a dog - you'd have to keep checking you'd tidied away all the nails and everything dog-dangerous! All those sensible reasons aside though, I WANT ONE NOW!!

OP posts:
EllyNC · 27/01/2021 13:48

Wooo @HerringGull glad your chart is looking good! Are you going to hold out to test?
Weather is bloomin’ miserable here so I’m jealous of your sun!!! And of your takeaway Actually- my diet is mostly consisting of crisps currently as it’s about all I can stomach- baby is 8 weeks now and I am feeling rouuuuugh!!!! No dog sadly (one day!!) but a very active one year old who has decided he doesn’t like naps 🤣🤣so all in all I’m exhausted but getting by!!
I don’t want to be the devil on your shoulder here but I think a puppy sounds like an amaaaaazing idea!!!!!!

HerringGull · 27/01/2021 13:12

Hey @EllyNC I'm 8dpo today. Much better chart than usual, higher temps in LP means more progesterone right?
It's sunny here, just been out for a nice walk, although the northerly is a bit fierce! We had takeaway last night as a treat and it was really tasty - lots of leftovers for tonight Smile That's about the excitement in my life just now! Been dreaming a lot about getting a puppy but it isn't really practical just now sadly. Sensible to wait until post-extension building.
What's going on with you? You have a young dog, don't you? How's s/he coming along?

OP posts:
EllyNC · 27/01/2021 11:13

@Pudding01 how are you feeling? So sorry that cycle didn’t work out for you- time to enjoy FW again soon and we’ll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you!
How’s everyone else too?

Cc7750 · 26/01/2021 11:11

@Pudding01 - Sorry, negatives are never nice. Do you think it could have been a chemical. I did have a faint positive early Nov I then came on really heavy, 2 weeks early and for a few days. I think had another period 2 weeks later. I cannot be sure if it was a chemical or not but it was definitely unusual for me. I then fell the following month :) x

HerringGull · 26/01/2021 10:20

@Pudding01 that's really strange, but at least you are now definitely into the next cycle. I hope you're not too sad about it :( It's so hard to deal with it all sometimes. I especially hate that the disappointment days each cycle always coincide with the day or two I feel sad because of period hormones - just doubles the misery!
Are you planning to track this cycle?

OP posts:
Pudding01 · 26/01/2021 07:36

Looks like it was just an extremely light AF, so must have ovulated cd13/14... That's all I can think of as that is when i had the cramps on FF. Maybe I didn't ovulate at all... But I must have done for the symptoms? No idea why I had such a weird and painful cycle!
