Thread 2!
Will try to tag everyone who was active recently in the old thread, but sorry if I missed anyone. And if you're one of the many who got BFPs in the old thread and you're currently wading through the dark depths of morning sickness, feel free to ignore us 😊

@unCliche who knows. Have a rotten cold. Hopefully not covid. Have lost the will to enthuse

unCliche · 04/02/2021 18:57

@LAgeDeRaisin Oooo exciting! How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

LAgeDeRaisin · 04/02/2021 18:02

@unCliche I'm 7DPO. Going to test tomorrow morning as can't wait any more!
Hating the wait

unCliche · 04/02/2021 14:11

@Pudding01 🙈🙈🙈 it really does feel like that, doesn't it?? I hope it happens for all of us at the same time so no one is left standing.

I took a more relaxed approached to OPKs this cycle. Started on CD12, peaked on CD13, ovulated on CD14 and then that was me done. If you can pinpoint your ovulation window then you can avoid the stress of peeing on OPKs for days on end. But it is risky if you ovulate early and miss it!!
Good luck with the no alcohol! Where will you be in your cycle during Valentine's Day? Probably in your TWW?

I'm doing ok. I've held back on symptom spotting during my previous cycles but this month I want to go all out and drive myself crazy 😂😂😂

Pudding01 · 04/02/2021 13:46

@unCliche it feels like PE at school all over again 😂

I'm cd12 today. Just using opk without temping this month, so expecting my smiley face any day now! Off the alcohol this month too to see if it helps.

How are you doing? Oooh this is where the tww really kicks in isn't it, after the first week! Fingers crossed for you that this is your month 🤞 x

unCliche · 04/02/2021 12:18

And then there were three!

How are you ladies doing? @Pudding01 @LAgeDeRaisin

Where in your cycle are you guys? I'm currently 5DPO. Feel like I've had about a million symptoms already 😂

HerringGull · 02/02/2021 11:17

Yeah that's the best thing about total renovation - you can make it exactly as you like it. Very exciting but sounds like a heck of a lot of work - right back to the walls really eh. Good on you!
Then you can start on the garden... Grin

@Cc7750 That sounds like a lot of work! Wooow!! But I'm sure the end result will be so rewarding! Also, this way, you can put your own personal stamp on it, which is perfect! Good luck with it!

Cc7750 · 02/02/2021 09:46

It’s a state ladies. Currently a 4 bed semi but in two flats so they entire place needs to be brought back together. The roof needs to come down as it’s falling down! Roof extension, back extension, driveway, I suspect the house is riddled with damp so I think it needs proofing. And a total rewire and new heating system. About 6 months of solid work I’d go for ha! I’ll be at my mums with my cats who are going to hate me!

HerringGull · 02/02/2021 08:27

Oh @Cc7750 that's great news! Want to describe it to us? I love hearing about houses! What kind of work will you need to do on it?

OP posts:
LAgeDeRaisin · 01/02/2021 21:57

I hope so @HerringGull I'm starting to walk funny...

Cc7750 · 01/02/2021 21:48

I’ve just joined the new house crew too! Mine has an offer and my offer was accepted, so @HerringGull you might have to give me digger tips as I’ve bought a complete hole... it’s a big year for all of us by the sounds!

HerringGull · 01/02/2021 21:21

Thank you @LAgeDeRaisin ❤️ It is a whole bunch of weird feelings but am sure they'll balance out a bit once we've had a chance to get used to it.
Good luck for your bfp in the week or so. Hopefully DTD every day will pay off!

LAgeDeRaisin · 01/02/2021 20:41

Oh wow @HerringGull congratulations! Such wonderful news! You must have such mixed feelings; I hope you can enjoy this and it can bring some new hope and positivity to what I'm sure still feels very raw.

Wishing you a very healthy pregnancy! X

HerringGull · 01/02/2021 14:08

@unCliche Ye gods no!! The horror!

OP posts:
unCliche · 01/02/2021 12:05

Haha! A slide! Yes please!! 😂 How would we get back up?? 😂😂

Woooow! So brave and very impressive. Yes, it probably is common sense but the prospect of doing all that work seems very daunting. If you successfully manage this would you make a profession out of it? Buying run down houses and flipping them for a profit?

HerringGull · 01/02/2021 11:41

Definitely not a pro! I love looking at other people's houses though, it's so interesting.
Something safer than steps? Never say no to a slide... hehehe

Yes, doing own founds. It is basically just digging holes in the right places and then filling them with concrete and layers of other stuff. I would not dare do anything like this on my own, but DH knows quite a bit. I'm constantly amazed though at how much of it is just common sense though. We will hire pros for like the blockwork in the walls and a couple of other things which would take us a LOT of trial and error, millions of time, and we'd probably still end up with wonky walls!

OP posts:
unCliche · 01/02/2021 11:06

Hehe @HerringGull I really can't wait to get started making my home my own. I'd have to share pics with you to get some of your ideas as you must be a pro now! The garden of the new house is on a hill and I'd love to get rid of the steps going down into the garden and create something safer.
Will you be be doing your own foundations 😱 Is that what the digger is for?? Could you hire a single pro to work alongside you? So at least you're not paying for a whole team?

HerringGull · 01/02/2021 10:53

*doing your own!

OP posts:
HerringGull · 01/02/2021 10:52

@unCliche Yes go for it! That's the greatest thing about it being your own - if one end is a bit kooky who cares! Doesn't really apply to foundations unfortunately, so if we have trouble we'll have to get a pro in to finish.
Sure you will make lovely decking. In a way it's so nice doing your own stuff, as if you think of a clever idea half way through you can tweak it slightly! Youtube is absolute fab; it's so empowering if you're up for trying stuff. And assuming you're happy to learn from your errors... Grin

OP posts:
unCliche · 01/02/2021 10:46

Oh wooow! @HerringGull talk about talented! That's a big task. I'd be too nervous swinging the digger round and demolishing everything I painstakingly built 😂 I'm guessing you both have had practice anyway. Do you watch a lot of YouTube videos to learn how to do it? I wanted to build a deck in the garden of the house we buy by myself and I've watched hours and hours of videos. I consider myself an expert now 😉

HerringGull · 01/02/2021 10:01

Yeah that's the idea. Any 'grunt work' is ours to do! We can't afford to build it unless we do the vast majority of the work, so we'll only be getting tradespeople in for the really skilled stuff. It will obviously take us loads longer than if we hired someone to do the digging, but it will be free except for fuel so we can't NOT do it really. Luckily DH is good at machines - one of those people! I had a shot on a digger once, and let's just say it was entertaining but I won't be going anywhere near our house with one! Grin Grin Grin

OP posts:
unCliche · 01/02/2021 09:36

@HerringGull and you'll be doing the digging yourselves??

HerringGull · 31/01/2021 20:20

@unCliche that's definitely the way to do it, bit by bit. You never know you might think of better ideas once you've been living in the house for a bit anyway.
Ours is going okay... Still haven't started obviously, ha! But have building warrant now so we'll soon be cracking out the digger 😁

OP posts:
unCliche · 31/01/2021 20:04

Hopefully he is allowed in with you, but there are always private scans if not @HerringGull!
The house is pretty much liveable as it is but we'll definitely start making changes little by little. First painting! Then maybe having under stairs storage built. Changing light fittings, etc. basically minuscule things like that. I'm still not decided which rooms will belong to what but I'll need to decide before we start building beds and other furniture! How's your house build coming along?
