How to distract myself during the dreading 2WW..

I got my positive OPK Sunday morning, BD on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (I’m exhausted!)
But now how do I take my mind off the TWW!? I’m constantly feeling for symptoms like I’m sure my boobs hurt already which I’m wondering if it’s a sign it hasn’t worked.
Anyone in the TWW now or got any advice? Thanks x

@wrensandrobins

I only started temping this month and I'm so confused already! I wish I'd started it a few months ago now so I knew what 6o expect. That said, I don't sleep very well and get woken up a lot so not sure how accurate my temps will be.

I'm 7dpo today and feeling sicky and very emotional (I've told myself it definitely can't be because I'm pregnant because that's ridiculous at this stage).

How is everyone else doing? Getting ready for Christmas? Today we're doing a big clean of the house :)

wrensandrobins · 22/12/2020 19:06

I literally googled 4dpo symptoms this morning knowing that everything I saw would be garbage 🤣

I am on my first cycle but have been doing bbt temps for the last 6 months and ovulation tests the last couple so I'm pretty comfortable with my cycle! First TWW though!

VNttc · 22/12/2020 13:09

Of course you can join @wrensandrobins!

I'm 5 dpo today and can feel some slightly cramps going on. Obviously I've googled if this can be implantation cramps this early 😂! Ordered some FRER earlier too so will test maybe 10dpo?

How far along are you on your TTC journey? This month is going much slower!

wrensandrobins · 22/12/2020 09:03

Hi all, can I join, 4dpo here and driving myself insane with google. You would think that Christmas would be a good distraction but I seem to have more time on my hands!

Hoping to test in 5 days with a early response frer!

VNttc · 21/12/2020 20:16

Fingers crossed for an early positive! When will you test? I've never used a FRER but might invest this month :)

Its good that they're looking into your fertility so quickly though - I'm hoping I don't have to go to doctors because I'm worried all I'll get told to do is lose weight 😭

jules5232 · 21/12/2020 15:51

@VNttc work is also such a great distraction when you're busy!

We've been ttc properly since March, tracking with OPKs and timing BDing. You are right though- if I'm having issues with ovulating, we should have options. I think my main worry is they will say everything looks fine since the tests earlier this month (prolactin, AMH, and LH) looked "perfect". I should hear back early next week but fingers crossed by then we alI have a positive FRER 😂

VNttc · 21/12/2020 15:12

Back at work this week so really nice to have that distraction!

I haven't had any tests done so don't have experience sadly. I hear that if you're not ovulating it's a relatively easy fix though? Fingers crossed that you get some good news though :) do you know when you'll get results? How long have you been trying?

jules5232 · 21/12/2020 14:24

How are you ladies doing today?? The holidays are definitely a good distraction. I'm 6dpo and having progesterone levels checked today to make sure I am ovulating, which is making me a little nervous about the results. Has anyone ever had this done?

VNttc · 20/12/2020 15:22

Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you guys! The two week wait is just the worst isn't it? Its going very slowly for me this time!

AllIwantforchristmasismyBFP · 20/12/2020 14:56

@VNttc my second, my first is almost 5. I’m envious of my 27 year old self who got pregnant without much trying! Haha.

VNttc · 20/12/2020 13:36

@AllIwantforchristmasismyBFP it is my first! This our 6th cycle of trying but it looks like a couple of months we timed the sex badly! Is your first?

AllIwantforchristmasismyBFP · 20/12/2020 11:53

@VNttc I’m 6DPO I think. I was due on the 27th but the app I log my OPK’s on must’ve realised I ovulated later and change my period date to the 28th. It’s torture isn’t it! Is it your first?

VNttc · 20/12/2020 11:42

@AllIwantforchristmasismyBFP
Only 4 dpo 😭 due on the 30th/31st, how are you?

AllIwantforchristmasismyBFP · 20/12/2020 11:39

@VNttc How many days DPO are you? x

VNttc · 19/12/2020 07:46

Morning everyone! How are you doing today? I kicked DP out to the spare room last night so I could get a good night's sleep 😂 woke up boiling hot again in the night - maybe it's a good sign but far too early to tell!

DollyMixtureStocking · 18/12/2020 14:10

Hello everyone! I’ve been at work this morning so it was a welcome distraction. I’m going to try my best not to symptom spot and footing down the day etc but it’s easier said than done. When I was pregnant with my first I had no symptoms in the TWW, other than I felt really hungry!

VNttc · 18/12/2020 11:33

@Fluffygreyjumper, I ended up telling my colleagues because we have a dog coming in for chemo and I do anaesthetics regularly so have to avoid certain things in the 2ww. It's nice that they know but also feel like there's this expectation now 😂

I'm was so bad for symptom spotting in the beginning and now I just convince myself it hasn't happened each month (whilst desperately hoping it has and always testing the day before AF is due).

Fluffygreyjumper · 18/12/2020 11:09

Can I join please?
I got my peak yesterday and done lots of DTD over past few days. Last month I went a little crazy with the symptom spotting and basically told DP that I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant - how wrong I was!! So this month really need to take a step back.
I guess Christmas shopping and getting presents ready etc. will help to distract.

@VNttc @jules5232 I am due on NYE too!!

@Misschanandlerbong20I also work for NHS and have had a couple of questions from colleagues re. getting vaccine, which I have batted away without telling them I'm TTC!

VNttc · 18/12/2020 09:57

@Misschanandlerbong20 36 is definitely not old! You'll be fine 😊

It must be so hard working for the NHS at the moment. I work at a veterinary practice and it's completely changed how we have to work. Hopefully the vaccine will let things relax a little bit fingers crossed

Misschanandlerbong20 · 18/12/2020 09:41

@VNttc that sounds like a good plan 😊
I get very hot in the night around ovulation but I don’t temp, just use opk’s . . . Used opk’s once for both ds2 and my dd and caught first time, so I’m hoping that’s the case this month, though I was a lot younger back then 🤪 I’m 36 now so feel like it’s not going to be so easy this time xx

VNttc · 18/12/2020 09:30

Morning! Woke up really warm in the night and had to put the fan on! Hoping that means I've definitely ovulated at least - it's my first month of temping and my temps have stayed up since my peak ovulation!

Also going to try not to worry about what is happening inside today though, going to do some sewing, watch greys anatomy and then go out later to buy some Christmas bits!

Misschanandlerbong20 · 18/12/2020 09:30

@VNttc yeah it’s not ideal situation ttc, but I’m just trying to go with the flow 😂 my kids are 16, 14 and 12 so they pretty much self sufficient now ha ha.
I work 12 hour days too so I agree that is exhausting too, especially at the moment with covid as I work for the NHS.
That was lucky that you were off this week xx

Misschanandlerbong20 · 18/12/2020 09:26

Morning everyone, how’s everyone doing?
Today I’m going to distract myself finishing my Xmas shopping and then wrapping! I’m not going to think about what potentially is going on inside of me once 🤪🤣 xx

DollyMixtureStocking · 17/12/2020 22:38

Thanks for your replies! Maybe we could keep this thread going during our TTC journeys??
@MamaMoonbeam I’ve just downloaded it :-)
I’m trying for #2, I already have a boy who is 4 next month. I think as it happened so quickly last time it’s almost made me think the same will happen this time when it most likely won’t as I’m 5 years older!?
I stopped the pill in august so this is my 4th cycle (I think!)
It’s just so difficult to take you mind of it and not POAS every day!
I’m due on affording to my app on the 29th.. I’m going to try not to test until New Year’s Day unless I come on sooner.. nothing good has happened in 2020 so I’m not going to test until next year! 😂

jules5232 · 17/12/2020 22:25

@VNttc I'm due for AF on new years eve too!! Hopefully I last that long before testing 🤞 were TTC #1 and we have been properly trying since March, but not not trying for a little over a year.

@rttcbabyno1 hahah 😂 the months we followed SMEP we were so tired. It made me feel so old.

I hope we all get a new years bfp!!
