Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@Mariex1989 eeekkk so exciting you get to find out who's in there soon! Xx

Mariex1989 · 01/06/2021 15:49

@Foundmyfeet amazing! I have a good feeling about this one too🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 All them little swimmers and just need the 1! I really really hope it all works out and hopefully find out soon eek!!
I’m good thank you! Sickness seems to have completely gone now which I’m over the moon about but now don’t feel pregnant at all 😂. Got our gender scan a week on Saturday so counting down to that, seems to be flying by now! xx

ELBlack · 01/06/2021 14:58

That's amazing @Foundmyfeet so pleased for you! Will be keeping everything crossed and you and your DH in positive thoughts!

Thank you! Will let you know how it goes x

Foundmyfeet · 01/06/2021 14:01

Hi ladies, so lots of positive news. Let's hope it results in a pregnancy.
Scan showed that an egg has popped out. I told them I felt pinching last night so that must have been it. We did the IUI which was slightly uncomfortable. They used a new sperm sample from DH. He has great sperm! Lol! DNA fragmentation was good, motility, morphology etc. We calculated that 1,850,000 sperm was inseminated into me during the IUI! DH feels like a champ! They called him a "millionaire!!"
Gave bloods and did a microbiota test so should have the results in a few days.
DH got tearful when I had the IUI done. He has a good feeling and so so I! Keep everything crossed for us ladies please!
@ELBlack - oooh hypnobirthing! Good stuff! Let us know how your first class goes.
@Mariex1989 how are you feeling?

Mariex1989 · 01/06/2021 11:29

@Foundmyfeet all sounds super promising!! Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you! Let us know how you get on xx

ELBlack · 01/06/2021 06:46

@Foundmyfeet that all sounds really positive! How are you feeling with what you've been told? Let us know if you get IUI today and safe journey back tomorrow.

I'm good thanks, feeling the little one move quite a lot now and starting hypnobirthing this evening x

Foundmyfeet · 01/06/2021 05:13

@ELBlack We arrived Sunday and it's so lovely here. We had our first appointment at the clinic yesterday morning. Amazing clinic! Had an aqua scan which showed no issues. She could see that I'm about to ovulate so I suggested that we do IUI. Going back this morning to see if the egg has popped out to do the IUI as they took a semen sample from DH yesterday. I think It may have done because I had a pinching pain on my lower right pelvic area last night. If not, then we will have to try the old fashioned way again as we are flying back home early morning tomorrow. She said my ovaries are good (right better than left but I knew that anyway) and that my endometrium is good. No polyps/fibroids or such like. So let's see...
How are you doing?

ELBlack · 29/05/2021 20:06

Hope Athens is ok @Foundmyfeet xx

Mariex1989 · 21/05/2021 09:49

@ELBlack yeah that’s a good point! I kept thinking 20 weeks is a long time to go without a scan etc; but you’re right, you’ll have the movements to focus on.

Haha yeah I think it’s definitely more just bloating rather than bump, I can wear them for a few hours then it gets too uncomfortable and the loungewear goes back on 😂.

I think yours is just lovely and neat and looks definitely just alllll bump! xx

ELBlack · 20/05/2021 20:27

@Mariex1989 thank you! I got it from a brand called mutha.hood they do some fab stuff!

I'm not sure yet, I think if we do have another private scan we will get it around 30 ish weeks and do a 4D one. At the moment I'm really enjoying focusing on all her movements and kicks rather than looking for the next scan which I was doing up until 20 weeks (understandably).

My jeans fully gave up around 17/18 weeks. I was still massively bloated at 13 weeks though so I struggled to get them on, but then it went down and I got a couple more weeks out of them before the bump came 😂

It's weird, on one hand I feel like my bump is massive and then tiny on the other!! X

Mariex1989 · 20/05/2021 20:07

@Foundmyfeet oh gosh typical isn’t it! Maybe you can sneak one in before or after the tests 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Ahhh I’m really hoping that this trip to Athens has all the answers for you and next news you’ll be telling us you’ve got a BFP!!

@ELBlack awww that’s lovely! And that blanket sounds like an amazing find and a nice little keep sake for baby when she’s older. Are you planning on having any more private scans? Crazy to think that’s it for the nhs ones now for you!
Look at your bump too 😍😍. I can hardly do my jeans up anymore and I’m only 13+3, will be getting the leggings and dresses out earlier than I anticipated I think xx

ELBlack · 20/05/2021 16:26

@foundmyfeet I LOVE yellow and purple! And red!! Most of the clothes I've got are from my nephew's so we have a lot of navy and grey 😍 I bought her the cutest pair of green leggings with crocodiles on them at the weekend! Couldn't resist this adorable piece though! It arrived today. I'm 22 weeks now! Where is the time going 🤯

I also got her a giant muslin with drawings of hundreds of iconic women, different activists, feminists, political figures, sports women etc! There are so many goodies to buy!!

Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle
Foundmyfeet · 20/05/2021 15:45

@Mariex1989 - Glad to hear you're not feeling sick. Long may it last!

I am hoping that I will get some answers while I'm out there. It's sods law that I should be ovulating that very weekend and I don't think we can do any BDing because of the tests I'm having and they will need a sperm sample from DH. So I'll definitely not be getting pregnant in June! Lol!

@ELBlack - oh how lovely..the pink spending spree. I didn't find out that DD was a girl until she was born so everything I'd bought beforehand were neutral colours. I went pink crazy for a while and then when she got to about 3 or 4 months old, I was sick of it! I started on the yellows and purples :)

Mariex1989 · 19/05/2021 20:49

@Foundmyfeet it’s so temperamental isn’t it, sometimes I get notifications and sometimes I don’t!
Yeah definitely feeling less anxious now and feels more real than we’re “allowed” to talk openly about it now.

Today is the first time in a looong time I haven’t felt sick, so fingers crossed I’m seeing the end of it 🤞🏻.

Eeek exciting about Greece! It will be worth the extra pennies and faff of getting there I’m sure! It has come around quick and hopefully you’ll get some good advise and move forward with everything xx

ELBlack · 19/05/2021 20:24

@Foundmyfeet oh god, that is a palaver, but at least it sounds thorough so hopefully you won't get ill and it helps control the numbers etc. I wonder if it took that long to get there as an effect of Brexit 🤔 I definitely think it's a sign from the universe that you need a break and some vitamin D 🤪

Oh I'm just the same as you! Cutesy sweet girl clothes are SO fun to buy. I've got 3 nephews, 9, 5 and 2.5 so everyone in my family is loving getting girly bits!

Foundmyfeet · 19/05/2021 20:00

@ELBlack - oh god, yes, the faff is something else!! It's amber at the moment and knowing my luck it'll be green next month after we get back! Lol! We'll be covid testing 4 times within 11 days and will have to pay £220 each for the privilege. It's actually going to work out more costly to go to Athens than to do tests here in the UK. The only reason why I'm going ahead with it is because I've heard they're more thorough and they have higher success rates. Oh, and also because I need some bloody sun!
Sod's law though, they sent me an email on Sunday to say my sample had arrived! TWO MONTHS it took to get there. Needless to say, it's too old to carry out the tests. Must be God's way of saying I need to go to Athens :)

Baby/kiddie shopping is so much fun! Particularly for girls. In saying that, little boys clothes are very trendy nowadays. I love shopping for my nieces ( 2 x 4.5 year olds and 1 x 1 year old) seeing as my DD is going on 15 and doesn't like the stuff I like! Apparently I'm "old fashioned" which translates as "not grungy/goth-like" enough. I'm just all shiny and sparkles me....the more sparkly the better. I think I must've been a magpie in a previous life!

ELBlack · 19/05/2021 18:03

@Foundmyfeet Hello! How are you? I am good thank you! Starting to feel baby a lot more now which is so lovely!

We've got a few bits and pieces, ordered her wardrobe, chest of drawers and feeding chair but not even started thinking about the pram or cot. I've been given loads of clothes and I've got her some and some books and toys etc.

That's come around quickly! I've not been following but is it not a green country? Is that why it's been a faff? X

Foundmyfeet · 19/05/2021 15:59

@Mariex1989 - what a perfect little scan! How exciting! You must feel a little more relaxed now you know all is well. How's the sickness? I'm still team blue for you!

@ELBlack - how are you doing? Have you been buying baby stuff?

Sorry ladies, I don't seem to be getting the notifications and just randomly check to see if there are any messages instead :)

Athens is looming...next weekend! What a palaver just to get out of the bloody country for 3 days..and costly too!

ELBlack · 18/05/2021 21:33

@Mariex1989 okay! So excited for you 😀 x

Mariex1989 · 18/05/2021 17:47

@ELBlack haha I have no idea what to look for either! I think most have gone on the skull shape. I’ll update you on the 12th June all being well eek! xx

ELBlack · 18/05/2021 16:03

@Mariex1989 I'm terrible at nubs so can't even offer advice! I can't even see the nub in your pic 😳

Mariex1989 · 18/05/2021 09:20

@ELBlack yeah I think it’s definitely a worry until then isn’t it and already feel more calm knowing everything is as should be.

Ahhh I don’t know. I’m so bad at guessing from scans, all my close friends except 2 have guessed girl from the pic. I’m on a November babies Facebook group too and they’ve all put girl! So that’s kinda thrown me as I was adamant it would be a boy. But we’re happy with either and only a few more weeks to wait ☺️ Xx

ELBlack · 17/05/2021 21:43

@Mariex1989 are you still thinking boy? I found I really relaxed after my dating scan xx

Mariex1989 · 17/05/2021 18:28

@ELBlack thank you ☺️ it’s still hard to believe that it’s inside me, crazy! Hopefully can try relax a bit now 😂 xx

ELBlack · 17/05/2021 17:19

@Mariex1989 awww congratulations! So pleased it all went ok. What a sweet little bean xx
