TTC no 2.

I decided (with full support from DH) that we should get on with TTC no 2...

I've said to myself that for we'll take a 'relaxed' approach to it for a few months (no temping, no SMEP etc) and see what happens, no great rush - took the best part of a year (incl a MC) to conceive DS so I don't expect it to be quick...

Except obviously it's now all I can think about as I approach what I think is my fertile week!!

Anyone else out there in the same boat and want to try and keep the madness on here and not in their heads?!

I googled this @stillfeelingmad and it suggested for my 27 day cycle it would be around day 13 - I thought I 'felt' it and that it was much later though...

Have started on the OPKs today (Day 7) - much earlier than last month to see if I can spot it!!

I have shorter cycles at 25/26 days and tend to ovulate anywhere between CD10-14 😁

stillfeelingmad · 03/01/2021 16:54

Does anyone else have a shorter cycle? I use the clue app and it suggests my cycle is an average of 25.5 days.
Found conflicting ideas online about when ovulation might be, only managed to dtd on day 7/8 this month due to work stuff. Naturally every little symptom or ache is convincing me it's ovulation time Smile

larrythelizard · 03/01/2021 09:19

No prep really @Porgy657 apart from the vitamins I panic bought when my last cycle was really short and I panicked (still am) about the prospect of having a short luteal cycle.

Lucky you @Penguinmumma - it's not really bad here but I suspect it will be soon (I think lots of second homers from the SE...). It'd be an October due date for me now (not that I'm thinking about it 🙄🙄🙄)

@Worriedandabitscared I wish...!!

No idea sorry @Bellesjp - could well be but I don't really know anyone who's had covid, let alone anyone TTC.

@glow92 same here, trying to be chilled and not order opk or a thermometer Grin

Penguinmumma · 02/01/2021 22:34

@larrythelizard where I live is covid free thankfully but a September due date would work nicely with avoiding other busy birthday months and hopefully be far enough away for the boarders to be reopened and us have family visit. Not that I’m over planning anything Hmm

glow92 · 02/01/2021 21:44

Gonna park myself here if that's ok, after getting lost in some other threads I'm hoping you guys are my people!
I'm 28, only finished my Cerelle pill on Dec 7th after 8 years. Currently no f-ing clue what's going on as after nearly 4 weeks I've had no withdrawal bleed or signs of cycle returning.
I'd definitely like to take a few months of DTD every couple days and see where I'm at while using an app to record and track.
As much as I'd like this to happen ASAP I do have obsessive tendencies and feel like it'll be too much for me to dive straight in on temping, OPKs etc.

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese Good plan! Wfh has completely ruined my routine I had atomic habits on audible, it followed the idea of stacking habits...but I have no habits anymore to stack it with! New year determined to keep some semblance of routine through the madness 😂 next to hairbrush is my plan as that’s about the only thing I do with consistency 😂😂

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 02/01/2021 21:04
@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese first love the name! I keep forgetting to take my vitamins (part of why I was on depo -terrible at remembering pills) now it’s an actual possibility going to set a timer 😂 very new to trying so looking for all advice available
Thank you, it was inspired by my love of cheese and cheese radio from hey duggee 😂
At the moment I'm on daily iron, vit d, zinc and folic, first 3 for my health, I keep the tablets on a shelf with my makeup, so it's become habit to take them while getting ready in the mornings.
I find the best way to remember is to incorporate them into your routine, it becomes habit after a short while

@Worriedandabitscared

That's how I fell pregnant in April - due date this month Shock who knew how effectively having unprotected sex is Grin
Haha other people keep saying just get drunk it’ll happen 😂
Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 02/01/2021 20:30

@Porgy657

What sort of ‘prep’ (in a very casual and relaxed way of course) are you all doing ie, reducing caffeine, alcohol, exercise etc
I'm taking folic acid again, reduced my tea intake and started walking daily as I can't go to the gym.

Has anyone had covid whilst ttc? I tested covid positive over Xmas and wondering if it’s messed up my cycle. I had cramps for about a week from Xmas and tested bfn on NYE which was around 14dpo, then af or what I thought was af arrived later that day. Since then have just had brown discharge which isn’t normal for me as usually I start quite heavy. I usually come on around cd31/2 and am now on cd34 and only this brown discharge for the last 3 days, also my boobs still hurt which normally stops once af here. Do you think it could be because of the covid?

BowsandGlitter · 02/01/2021 17:45

Yep me, trying but not trying for baby number 3, I've decided at probably the worst timing ever lol, I was supposed to get married end of June and had to postpone to beginning of June this year and my youngest is 4 years old already and I feel if I wait any longer they won't have the relationship I'd like them to have so If I fall pregnant ill have to be a pregnant bride or postpone again so were just seeing if it happens but I'm feeling excited about the journey again

Porgy657 · 02/01/2021 17:13

Glad it’s finally January! Ordered some Ov test strips should arrive tomorrow! So I can get started as you can tell totally chill and not over invested at all 😂

stillfeelingmad · 02/01/2021 17:11

Hello, can I join! After a pregnancy scare before Christmas we got to talking and readied we wouldn't be too upset if we got pregnant now!! So now two months off implant and not using condoms, not tracking or particularly aiming for fertile window: but of course it's all I can think about, dh is on the fence about waiting longer for pandemic to be over but equally we're not getting any younger and he has previous medical stuff that might make it harder so here we are Grin

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 02/01/2021 17:03

Fingers crossed for you all that are getting ready to test.

According to Flo I'm on day 5 of my ovulation time (the app gives me an 11 day window of the best time tdd) and due to actually ovulate Monday, so will see what happens.

larrythelizard · 02/01/2021 16:49

Welcome @Bellesjp @Purple2486 @Penguinmumma and @HopeAndDriftWood!

I'm only one cycle in and already getting a bit over invested...! Keep thinking it's be really nice to do the early pregnancy but whilst we're in some form of lockdown!

Thanks @HopeAndDriftWood you too! Let’s hope for bfp’s all round next month Smile

Purple2486 · 31/12/2020 20:41

Yep, we've decided on baby no 3, if it happens then great if not then its not meant to be. Fell pregnant first time with my other 2, no planning around ovulation etc, won't be purposely trying but not taking percussions. Fertile window is this week but OH working nights so won't be seeing much of him anyway!

HopeAndDriftWood · 31/12/2020 20:26

Best of luck for this cycle; @Bellesjp! It’s all I think about too... in theory we’re just happy either way; in reality I am so hoping for a BFP soon... I’m a bit scared by how much I want it to be positive! I was the one pushing for “trying but not trying” 🙈

Bellesjp · 31/12/2020 20:12

Can I join? We ‘stopped trying not to get pregnant’ this month 🙈 however it’s all I can think about! I got pregnant accidentally last year but had a MC so secretly it’s all I’ve thought about since then but timing wasn’t right as we both lived with parents.

Trying to stay chilled about it but gutted when af turned up today! Let’s hope for a better start to next year!
