TTC no 2.

I decided (with full support from DH) that we should get on with TTC no 2...

I've said to myself that for we'll take a 'relaxed' approach to it for a few months (no temping, no SMEP etc) and see what happens, no great rush - took the best part of a year (incl a MC) to conceive DS so I don't expect it to be quick...

Except obviously it's now all I can think about as I approach what I think is my fertile week!!

Anyone else out there in the same boat and want to try and keep the madness on here and not in their heads?!

@Brightspark12 which ones do you use ? Why don't you apply for the clear blue study it's all free x

Brightspark12 · 17/01/2021 11:26

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese thanks so much, that’s so reassuring... I think you hear about people getting pregnant by accident after one shag and think there’s something wrong with you.
@mrssunshinexxx the plan is to move in soon! didn’t really get on with my ov tests this month.. I’m considering getting an ovusense if I have no luck.
How are you both getting on? Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2021 02:34

Honestly, I bet you have been missing it. Have you plans to move in together ? Have you seen him when you've had a positive ovulation test this month? X

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 17/01/2021 00:10

Please don't put too much weight in it being a year @Brightspark12, DH and I spent 3 years not actively trying, it then took a further 6 months of trying for me to get pregnant and then 4 mc/cp before ds stuck. It was only because I hadn't had a "scare" in the 3 years that they did blood tests on me, otherwise they would have had me wait until we'd been trying a year.

This time round, although I'm tracking again, we're not making a point of dtd at the "perfect" time, unless the mood strikes haha.

Brightspark12 · 16/01/2021 20:44

@mrssunshinexxx same I’ve spent loads already and it’s only month one😂 x

I know this thread is called trying but not trying but I haven’t been on any contraception for about 9 months and nothing happened yet (usually have sex every weekend and once in the week) I’m not that boring just we don’t live together yet so that’s when I go over. 😂 I saw online that most couples should be pregnant within a year if not using anything and a bit worried! Maybe I’m just missing the window? Anyone else the same x

mrssunshinexxx · 16/01/2021 19:48

@Brightspark12 no I gave up this month as they are so expensive and I was sure I felt ovulation on night 3 of flashing smileys so 🤞 I'm taking part in the clear blue new ovulation stick study next month so if I don't get pregnant this month I'll use them properly x

Brightspark12 · 16/01/2021 16:16

@mrssunshinexxx I have been using them but I haven’t managed to get a smiley or even a flashing smiley but reading on here loads of people say they have had it for 6 or 7 days... did you get a static one?

mrssunshinexxx · 13/01/2021 08:35

Anyone else using the clear blue opks ? If so how many days of flashing smiley have you had in on day 5?!

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 12/01/2021 22:14

@MMG21 oh bless you, have you sat down and talked about it yet? I think its a cards on the table, pros and cons conversation.

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 15:07

@mrssunshinexxx I know it is we have literally been on this journey 3 times this is the 3rd. 1st and 2nd time one of us each changed our minds after a week of trying 🤣🤣 that was 4 years ago now after we got married. But now it really is now or never a 10 year age gap is enough anything over and my DD won't be interested either shell want her friends etc and I always said after 30 I wouldn't want to start again. I think we both just need to adjust after 10 years its a long time. And I never thought I'd only have 1 kid. I just think i don't wanna be 50 and wish I'd have done it. Because there's no big particular reason why not there's no medical reason etc. Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 11/01/2021 14:41

@MMG21 that's really dofficult if you have felt the same but at different times. Maybe just be spontaneous 😀

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 13:38

@mrssunshinexxx hes not making it very clear if he doesn't he knows I'm off the pill. He always said he didn't and when I've said I do he says why??? Because in 8 years were free (kind of) or at least dont need to worry about sitters, or going away etc 🤣🤣 DD is nearly 10.. and we will only be 40 and 38. But I've said its not a reason to say "I just dont want another one". He would love a boy. And said if you could 100% guarantee it he'd do it now. So he does Deep down want one. He just thinks of the negatives, plus he is 31 and he genuinely thinks that's too old to become a dad 🙈🙈🙈 he's just silly. We compromised by giving it until I'm 30 (in oct) because he knows I want one and he doesnt really for the reasons I've mentioned. I think its because of how long we've waited about 5 years ago he was begging me to have one and I said no. We go on full circles. Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 11/01/2021 13:31

@MMG21 no you aren't overreacting that would piss me off. He is definitely fully wanting another baby?

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 12:45

I know it is like 90% unlikely that it'll happen this month only stopped pill in Dec. And I haven't even mentioned ovulation days to do it, timing etc to my DH just been having sex I've not even mithered him. and already he's gone into the cba stage! 2 nights in a row hes not wanted to do it or wanted a BJ instead. Well that didn't last long. "The oh I won't turn down sex or moan about it" speech he gave 🙈 i've no chance if we don't DTD. May aswell go back on the pill. Am I over reacting or not?

stillfeelingmad · 11/01/2021 12:44

Hmm still getting waves of random queasiness now! But had a take away curry last night lol so that could be the reason! Earliest I could test on early
Detection is Saturday

Brightspark12 · 11/01/2021 10:29

@stillfeelingmad some people do say they feel it that early but i have never been pregnant so I wouldn’t know😂
@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese how exciting! It’s hard not to get your hopes up every month even though we are ‘not trying’. X

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 11/01/2021 10:06

@Brightspark12 and @stillfeelingmad I don't remember it taking over like this when trying for ds last time! Although I was in the process of getting ready to be sent for tests when we finally created DS so ignored symptoms, I actually didn't test until I missed my second period with him.

I'll probably wait until day 2 or 3 of when my period is due, I have a cheap sainsburys test in the bathroom, not sure if that would show anything earlier than that.

stillfeelingmad · 11/01/2021 07:18

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese and @Brightspark12 same here!! Around 4/5 dpo and can't help symptom spotting even though it would be so unlikely to feel anything this early! Been nauseous on and off for days but it definitely could be me convincing myself Grin

Brightspark12 · 10/01/2021 23:20

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese I’m with you on that! I am finding myself becoming a bit obsessed😂 how long will you wait to test when is AF due? X

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 10/01/2021 21:35

How's everyone's chilled approach going? I'm starting to feel myself not being quite so relaxed as the days go on.
I'm 6dpo and have had slight cramps on my lower left side and one of my nipples has been itchy today 🤨
I'm sat on the sofa with dh watching TV and outwardly being chill but driving myself crazy trying to work out if they're normal pms symptoms or not.

mrssunshinexxx · 09/01/2021 22:33

@Brightspark12 haven't missed that !! I've only just come off my contraception this month so really trying not to get my hopes up x

Porgy657 · 09/01/2021 20:43

@SendMeHome Flowers
I’m still technically covered by depo so really counting down the days!!

SendMeHome · 09/01/2021 20:26

I’m 8dpo today, but I think I’m out... had some red spotting this morning, not much, but the same again at about 6pm. I’m gutted. I’ve been telling myself it might take a while and it’s okay, but I think I was really optimistic it’d happen... it feels so long until we can try again.

Brightspark12 · 09/01/2021 15:32

@mrssunshinexxx good luck! Not long till the symptom spotting begins.. the dreaded two week wait! X

mrssunshinexxx · 09/01/2021 15:24

No I don't feel like I need to bother? It's only month 1 for me too @Brightspark12 x
