@Dex1521 yeh I agree with @AMS19 it doesn't mean you're out as long as you DTD in fertile week. I was away overnight the day I ovulated, but we DTD in the lead-up. Plus it might be really stressful driving back and forth, it's not going to get you in the mood for sex anyway?

AMS19 · 11/12/2020 17:18

@Dex1521 if you're due to ovulate Wednesday then as long as you DTD from Saturday each day you will be covered. If you can sneak a morning session in Tuesday morning before you go even better. But you don't need to do it on day of ovulation. I didnt when I got my BFP! So personally I dont think you need to drive back and forth, you won't gain that much from it

P.s. I'm also an accountant! But not in practice 🙂

@Dex1521 If it helps it’s just one month out of the grand scheme of things. And you’ll have plenty of other months to try for a baby. As much as I know it’s easy me sitting here saying it but you have to carry on with your life as normal and try not to let it consume you. I travel 34 miles each way to work and that’s enough me. And then you have the added pressure of making sure you dtd aswell. Xx

Dex1521 · 11/12/2020 13:49

This is my charts today still looking ok I think.

I’m due to ovulate next Wednesday and work has just announced they need me in Manchester from Tuesday - Thursday and they’ve offered me a hotel which usually I’d be more than happy to do but I’m going to miss day before, day of and day after ovulation and I’m so stressed now!!

I’m tempted to drive down and back each day (around 80miles each way I live in Darlington) just so we don’t miss out this month maybe I could use covid as an excuse? Like the reason I don’t want to stay in a hotel. I will get petrol expense but will just be a long three days. What would everyone else do?

I work for PwC as an accountant/auditor like it’s a massive worldwide company with an office base in Manchester but the client I’m working for is contracted to the Newcastle office (my office base) so that’s why I have to go and not someone from Manchester. 😖😖

@CardioQueen thank you so much for keeping us updated. Sounds like you've done great and been really pro-active! Keeping everything crossed for you, it's great that your doc was so positive too.

jessi60 · 11/12/2020 09:01

@CardioQueen Lovely to hear from you and thanks for the update. Glad there is options for you and fingers crossed it all goes well. I’m pleased your feeling more positive. Onwards and upwards! Xxx❤️

AMS19 · 11/12/2020 08:48

@GreenApplesYo yeah mine has stayed for ages! I thought it would ease but hasn't at all. Kinda used to it now, I dont actually get out of bed until 7/7.30 so just laze around trying to stay off Google 😂😂😂
I have my first F2F midwife apt today. My booking apt last week was over the phone, so this is for the blood tests and other checks and to collect my notes. I think having the notes and booklet I have to carry with me to all apt will make it feel much more real! Next scan is 21st Dec, so still 10 days to go. I dont feel stressed about it, I think I will as it gets closer. Right now I'm distracting myself with birthday and Christmas stuff and ignoring anything baby related 😂😂😂

GreenApplesYo · 11/12/2020 08:23

@AMS19 oh my gosh you still have the imsommia? That's dreadful! I was waking at 5am too, but it seemed to sort itself out after a couple of weeks. It's not too long until your next scan now?

@PowerOfFlowers such a great line! Also it's nice when you get past the point you would have had your AF 🙂

@CardioQueen it's lovely to hear from you. Well done being so proactive and getting all the tests etc, it can't be a pleasant process. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Great the doc was positive about your age and weight etc 🙂hope you have a lovely relaxed Christmas if we don't hear from you before xx

Bells20 · 11/12/2020 07:27

@PowerOfFlowers that's an amazing line! I've also had terrible sleep starting from a few days before I got my bfp up until about 2 days ago. Was waking up without fail at 4/5am and just couldn't get back to sleep. Last night and the night before I was asleep at 8.30pm which is very unlike me. Im expecting sleep to be a bit weird from now on but it definitely wasn't something I thought to be a pregnancy symptom. Google says pregnancy insomnia is a thing!

Bells20 · 11/12/2020 07:22

@CardioQueen I so glad you came back in o update us and definitely sounds like it was a really great move to look into the tests. I bet it's so helpful just to have more of an understanding about what's been happening and at least now you've got some options for what comes next! Pleased to hear you're feeling more positive, sounds like there are lots of things in your favour and I am feeling really optimistic for you 💛 do let us know how your spot in January goes and a very happy Christmas and new year to you too.

AMS19 · 11/12/2020 07:06

@PowerOfFlowersit is so weird. I've tried staying up late to push my sleeping pattern back but it doesn't help, I just get less hours! So now give in and fall asleep at 9ish. I've had times where I've been so tired I've fallen alsspe at 7.30. It does seem whatever happens, 5.10am my eyes open 😂😂 i feel tired but can't go back to sleep!

Posted too soon! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Oh wow every day! I wonder why! I'm wide awake! Maybe I should get up if this is a thing then. Do you go to bed earlier @AMS19 ?

PowerOfFlowers · 11/12/2020 06:05

😨😨😨😨

AMS19 · 11/12/2020 06:04

@PowerOfFlowers 5.10am. Every. Single. Day.
My husband doesn't even ask when I woke up now, just asks what I've been doing all morning at 8am 😭🤦‍♀️😴 it has been like this for me for over 3 weeks, so get used to it!

OP posts:
PowerOfFlowers · 11/12/2020 05:58

@AMS19 - third day in a row I'm awake at 5am - is this a thing?? 🙈

PowerOfFlowers · 11/12/2020 05:56

I echo everything @AMS19 just said - I couldn't say it better myself. You also sound more positve in yourself today which is so good to hear. Your Doctor also being positve about it also helps a lot. Thank you for updating us 😀 Hope you have a brilliant Christmas in the sun 😊

AMS19 · 11/12/2020 05:45

@CardioQueen so lovely to hear from you. That all sounds super positive and like everything is moving in the right direction. You should be so proud of yourself for getting the tests done when you did. Some people waste years trying before having tests. So don't underestimate the fact you've probably made this whole journey 1000000 times easier and more likely to be successful. I honestly believe this will work for you. Whichever option you take, at the end of the day, as long as it brings you your baby then so be it! You got this!! Have the best Christmas and New year, it could well be your last without a baby/not pregnant!! ❤❤❤

Thanks @AMS19 🤗

I went to my specialist yesterday and I am going to have a pelvic ultrasound and tubal patency check and DP is going to have a sperm study. Then we will regroup with the specialist and work out where to go from there. They don't insist you get the tube check straight off, we could just try the medication for a few months, but we thought why waste time? If the tubes are blocked the medication will have been a waste of 3+ months. We do have to pay for the testing but I think I would rather my money went on that than anything else at this point in time. We will then have one of 3 options:

  • Medication to stimulate ovulation
  • Medication to stimulate ovulation plus intrauterine insemination if the sperm aren't great swimmers (DP did a LOT of bike riding in younger years)
  • IVF

I am not ovulating. All the signs/tracking pointed towards ovulation a couple of days ago and he did a scan and no corpus luteum, so that was that! He did not seem very concerned. He said that was the easy part to fix. For those wondering, you can still get a 'period' without ovulating as the endometrial lining can become unstable and shed of its own accord after a while. I had taken this to mean I was ovulating albeit very late.

He said my hormone results were really not very useful as I am not ovulating so they don't tell us much at all, they are only helpful when they know where you are in your cycle. He also said my low AMH result is not something to worry about - we only need one good egg and one good sperm.

He was really very pleased "I am slim" and kept banging on about it (I am not actually that slim, I'm just normal weight) - but I think it makes the journey ahead a bit easier. And he also said age is on my side being under 35. All in all I am feeling way more positive than last week and I will touch base with you girls in 5 weeks (couldn't get the ultrasound/tube check until 11th Jan as only one clinic in Melbourne does them atm), when we've had our next appt with him ☺️

Wishing everyone lots of luck and a lovely Christmas and New Year 🎄

jessi60 · 10/12/2020 19:25

@positivitytree2020 Hope your doing okay. I’m exactly the same, find it difficult at times, abit overwhelming especially when your in limbo with things. I’m doing nothing but worry about my cycle length and not getting my period at the minute and what it could all me. Driving myself crazy. Be kind to yourself❤️ Xx

PowerOfFlowers · 10/12/2020 17:30

Hi @positivitytree2020 😀 I was wondering how you were. I agree, that time in between is so long so totally understand why you are taking some time out for a bit. Great idea too about not putting yourself under too much pressure over Christmas - just enjoy the week and eat lovely food, drink some nice wine 😊 We'll be here when you are ready to come back.

positivitytree2020 · 10/12/2020 17:18

@Bells20 @AMS19 Thanks for being so understanding! 😊😊 god I can only imagine what the pregnancy boards are like! 😂 I'd be staying off them too once my time comes around! 😂 Hopefully I will have some updates & charts for ye next week when I'm further along this cycle! 😄 We are taking it easy this month anyway with it being Christmas, so not putting myself under as much pressure! 😄
