Thank you @DrS44. I was shocked that it didn't proceed, as my chart was great and I even got a line on an IC. I have been off birth control for years, as it gave me low BP. We have been TTC since last July, so 6 cycles approximately.

DrS44 · 07/01/2021 13:37

Whoops here it is x

@Greeneyedfairy welcome! And so sorry to hear about CP! You will get there! This is a lucky group 🌟 how long have you been TTC?! Were you on BC? X

DrS44 · 07/01/2021 13:35

@Bells20 amm the last two days I've been testing twice a day! So maybe not missed it!

Just went to the loo and had loads of EWCM some light spotting again 😭😭 what is going on?! And this is my OPK! So confused. I can feel little pinches as if I am ovulating .... 🤷🏼‍♀️
@positivitytree2020 ok great I'll temp in the morning xxx

Greeneyedfairy · 07/01/2021 13:28

Can I join please 😌

Cd1 and I just had a CP,. I am upset, but I am determined to stay focused on becoming pregnant again, aka TTC#2. Focusing my energy now on getting a blazing positive FRER.

positivitytree2020 · 07/01/2021 12:40

@DrS44 it’s not too late to start temping now if you wanted to do it just to see!! 😊 I’m so glad I kept temping, otherwise I would have assumed this cycle was nonovulatory, when it turns out it actually was! 😊👌🏼

I think it depends on everyone but I think most people have a pattern, so if your previous peaks were 12-24 hours this one should be the same? So I guess checking twice a day should cover you?
I hate that part tbh I nearly drove myself mad last cycle and then stopped doing them! 🤣

Hahaha poor OH! It actually is exhausting tho! 😂 just do it every 2nd day, apparently that’s enough to cover all basis! A nice day break in between then! 😂

Bells20 · 07/01/2021 12:26

@GreenApplesYo thank you, I do feel much better today and much less anxious. It just comes and goes. I'm definitely hoping the 12 week scan helps! You're right about the vaccine, the guidance has changed and I could have it but because I personally don't have any other risk factors that would make me vulnerable to severe covid, the risks outweigh the benefits so I still won't have it. But think it's great that it's an option for people!

@DrS44 that really made me laugh, I defo did not find TTC to be a romantic experience 😂 but definitely had a lot of laughs in moments like that! Hoping for your peak soon unless it has happened already! Out of curiosity are you testing once or twice a day? If once it's possible you've missed it?

DrS44 · 07/01/2021 12:08

@Dex1521 thanks! I know it's so annoying - i just wanted it to happen earlier this cycle as my LPs have been so short I've not stood a chance!

🤣🤣 I know it's too funny! It was just that he took them off slowly and was like alright come on then if we have to 😅😅😅 so sexy 🤣 I'm gonna have to make a proper effort tonight - even though I'm so busy at work and can't be dealing with it 🙈🙄😅 xxxx

Dex1521 · 07/01/2021 12:04

@DrS44 aw I really hope you get it soon/catch it! Best advice is definitely what others are saying keep DTD and I’m sure you’ll catch it!
Made me laugh you saying about your OH just whipping his clothes off ready...mine is the exact same I have to admit 😂 can just turn it on and off so quickly 😂

DrS44 · 07/01/2021 11:52

@GreenApplesYo @positivitytree2020 I never temped this cycle 🙈🙈 I know how stupid of me 😅 I was trying not to obsess but to be fair they're good just to confirm ovulation so I should have 🙄

I've had a look and my peaks do come out of nowhere! And tend to be quite quick, one was about half a day and the other was 24 hours! So you'd think I would have caught the tail end or start at least the end? I'll try again this afternoon!

My OH is exhausted from all the sex 😅😅 it's tough work like! Last night it was so funny I was like oh we have to BD again tonight he was like right okay and just took his pants off 🤣🤣 I was bad laughing! It was the least sexy/seductive/romantic thing 🤣 how can boys just turn it on and off so quickly haha! Ugh anyways hopefully I'll see something else this afternoon I'll keep you posted xx

positivitytree2020 · 07/01/2021 11:43

@DrS44 are you temping as well as OPKs? If you are temping then that should pick it up if you’ve missed it, just keep DTD anyway! 🤞🏼

My last few cycles I’ve ovulated CD15, then this cycle it got to CD20 and I gave up coz it was too hard to keep checking over Xmas and I assumed it was anovulatory cycle! But my temps suggest I ovulated somewhere between CD22 - CD26! 😂

So hold tough! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Also, have no experience with ovulation bleeding! 🥺

GreenApplesYo · 07/01/2021 11:18

@DrS44 hmm I think it can happen? Did you have a very sudden peak last time you ovulated? I guess your peak could happen in the middle of the night, or maybe if your wee is quite diluted you might miss it? Maybe you will see a temp rise soon to confirm it.

@Foxl2222 I did tell my manager at 9wks when I came off furlough, as I trust her and thought that if something goes wrong and I need time off sick, I'd rather she knew why rather than having to make something up/explain that I'm pregnant. With family, I didn't tell my anyone because I knew my Mum would be as emotionally invested as me (haha) and I didn't want the pressure. I did end up telling her a week before the 12wk scan, but at least it wasn't long to wait then. However, I think if it is going to be more stressful for you to keep it hidden, then it might be worth telling your inlaws? No point stressing yourself out if it could be easily avoided by letting them know.

It must be such a worrying time to be pregnant and work for the NHS. I hope you and @bells20 and @jessi60 are all OK. By the way, I think I read that the advice on the vaccine has changed, pregnant women can have it, but weigh up risk of having it vs not having it first? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? (Weighing up what's less risky seems hardly ideal).

@bells20 sorry to hear about the anxiety. I haven't been too bad recently, but I have had anxiety in the past and know how awful it can feel. It's such a drain. Just from my experience, I think the worry does ease up once you hit the magical 12wk mark, but it feels like a long journey to get there!

@CardioQueen haha the excess saliva made me chuckle. I didn't have that issue but have read it can happen. Apparently chewing gum or having a boiled sweet can help?

What suppliments are people taking by the way? I have standard pregnacare, but was thinking about getting some omega 3 as well.

DrS44 · 07/01/2021 10:07

Gals how common is it to miss your peak? I really feel like I have or am about to ovulate and OPKs are still low 😭😭😭

PowerOfFlowers · 06/01/2021 23:42

Hahah @CardioQueen I know! 🙈🙈 Everything happening at once over here 😂😂

CardioQueen · 06/01/2021 23:35

@PowerOfFlowers ok good to know! I regularly choke on my saliva (not selling myself here am I 😂) so this will be interesting. I don't think I could cope with braces as well, you don't do things by halves do you?!

I am getting one of those night guard mouth shield things in a couple of weeks though to stop me grinding my teeth 🤔

PowerOfFlowers · 06/01/2021 23:30

Nice lines @Foxl2222 😀 I phoned my GP when I hit 4 weeks to inform them and then self referred. I wanted to wait until I officially had missed a period. As for telling people - It was definitely obvious there was something happening with me between 5 and 7 weeks, I wasn't eating as much because of nausea, all I wanted to do was sleep and the smell of cooked food made me 🤢 so if you are living with your inlaws, they might start to suspect anyway. But, you might be lucky and not feel like that 😀🤞🏻

Yes to the excessive saliva @CardioQueen 😂 But, I had fixed braces put in the same week as my bfp so it was a combination of both! Dribbled a lot! 😂 Also, from 5 weeks my mouth felt sooooo dry and metallic. I thought it was the braces and then I read its a symptom 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

CardioQueen · 06/01/2021 23:01

@Bells20 & @Foxl2222 I think the worrying is more common than we realise. I am worrying about everything. I am an overthinker at the best of times. The only positive is I'm no longer overthinking much else as all my worries are purely focused on little bean.

I meant to ask before - has anyone had excessive saliva? I am a very saliva-y person at the best of times. This was not something I was prepared for 😑

Bells20 · 06/01/2021 21:35

@Foxl2222 so apparently we're not classed as being particularly vulnerable until 28 weeks so I imagine it's business as usual as much as possible until then. but I just told my manager today that given current covid situation I would prefer not to be coming into the office if that was a possibility. I'm very lucky that I can actually do my job remotely using video calls so I'm just moving my caseload to remote contacts and that's what's been agreed for the time being. I definitely think its worth chatting with your manager or someone from work about it to make sure you're only doing what you feel comfortable with.

I would love to think the worry subsides, I can't recall any of my friends saying they felt like this in early pregnancy (I'm the last in my friendship group to have a baby!) but maybe people just don't talk about it!

Foxl2222 · 06/01/2021 21:21

Thank you @Bells20 that was very helpful!
Sorry you are feeling very anxious. I can imagine it is so hard not being able to talk about it, I'm already struggling and haven't even missed af🙈 I'm guessing this constant worry does not subside? 😞
What are the protocols in your place for patient facing and pregnancy? Do you have to turn non-clinical at a certain stage?
I think I will definitely wait until 12 weeks to tell my friends and other family. Tempted to tell my mum and sis but really going to try and hold off until at least 6 weeks. Which is strangely only 2 weeks away 😂 xx

Bells20 · 06/01/2021 21:11

@Foxl2222 they look like fantastic lines especially for cheapy internet tests and not first morning wee too! Over the moon for you!

I think I telling people is a tricky one. I told my manager at work when I was 5 weeks so super early, I'm nhs staff and patient facing although probably low covid risk but I wanted to make sure there was a risk assessment in place for me, needed her to know I was t having the vaccine and also would have wanted her support if anything went wrong. I was really glad to have told her actually. Ideally would have waited until 12 week scan to tell immediate family but ended up telling them at Christmas, again was pleased I did. I'm finding it quite tough at the moment, struggling with quite a bit of anxiety and feel like I can't tell my friends about it so feels a bit isolating to be keeping this a secret if you know what I mean. But still feeling quite sure I'm waiting until at least 12 week scan before telling anyone else for now. That was waffly sorry haha

I did read some GPs won't let you refer until you're 6 weeks but I think I waited about 2 days after my BFP before I rang them to self refer haha as had no idea when AF would have been due and they were fine with it. Got my booking appointment with a midwife sent through the day after so all happened quite quickly.

Foxl2222 · 06/01/2021 21:02

@DrS44 I ovulated CD17 last cycle!!! And cycle before was CD14! I was worried it wouldn't come but got a huuuge peak the night before!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞 it's near !! X

Foxl2222 · 06/01/2021 20:59

Omg my typing is awful!!
I meant I should NOT get too excited until AF is late 🤦‍♀️

Foxl2222 · 06/01/2021 20:57

@GreenApplesYo not sure what to do about telling people.. I sometimes work on covid wards and everyone is asking about the vaccine which I obviously can't get now. I'm living with in-laws who will be offering wine etc. I'll get away with it for now as I was planning on doing dry jan anyway, I've already said I'm trying to avoid caffeine at night to help me sleep so am switching to decaff😂
Also my mum knows I was trying so I'm sure she'll ask at some point. Not sure whether to lie or tell her.
I'm so desperate to let it out next week but OH wants to wait a while! 😫
Any thoughts?

DrS44 · 06/01/2021 20:53

@Foxl2222 I'm cycle day 17 🙄

Oohh that is so exciting! Still a great line for that early on 😍😍😍

Foxl2222 · 06/01/2021 20:51

What cycle day are you now @DrS44 ?

Ahh how exciting @CardioQueen! I worked out that my due date would be 18th September, based on last af. I ovulated much later than predicted this cycle according to opk's. Which has put my at due date back to Sunday, giving me a 32 day cycle. I feel like I should get too excited until after Sunday when AC definitely doesn't show.

How long after missed af is a good time to start booking appointments/choosing hospital etc? Have been googling already but feel like I'm getting ahead of myself.

Here's my cheapies from this evening, not as strong as frer, but given I'm only 10dpo i'm quite happy with them lol xx
