Hey @ButterscotchBabe! Continuing our chat here 😁

I loooove that your temps did exactly what mine did too. So good that AF hasn't arrived at CD26!! Happy for you! When your temps increased last month, was it is to a gradual high or did it jump up again and then AF started? Because if this pattern is new, it could mean good news!

Ours definitely look like the beginning of a triphasic chart. My temps last month started dropping at 7DPO, so it still being high at 9DPO is such an achievement for me and no sign of AF either although my vulva feels AF'y in a weird way. My pulse and breathing rate have also continued to shoot up!! If temps don't tell you AF is coming, pulse rate defo will because it always starts falling a few days before AF for me.

I do suspect chemical but no BFP so can't confirm and nothing else changed that cycle so I can't explain it. Hormones were defo the reason I never took the pill, it plays such a big part in changing your reproductive cycle that of course it would have an affect on cycles after you come off them! 45 day cycles sound like a nightmare - especially when TTC too.

I do have a FRER! I'm always so scared to use it though. I always use rubbish ICs which probably aren't the best thing but I will use my FRER with you!

I like predicting what my temps will do with DH. What do you think will happen tomorrow? I think both our temps will go up again 😆

Really hoping to get a rabbit tomorrow! I'm gonna get up early and go to the store, fingers crossed they'll have some new ones!

You can get ovulation pain before, during or after ovulation, so it sounds like you ovulated early CD14. You're 3DPO already and I've still not ovulated ☹️. OPK was negative this morning, I'll test again later this afternoon. Looks like it's gonna be a CD18/19 ovulation for me.

Haha we tend to wake up around 6.30am and DP always has morning glory (as I think most men do!), so it doesn't take long to get going 😂😂😂. You could try setting an earlier alarm or have a lunchtime quicky?? 😂 That's a shame your DH put watching TV first, when the fertile window is quite limited but you've managed to put quite a few spermies up there, so I wouldn't worry.

So I'm now battling with the fertility clinic over NHS funding. When I queried the invoice for the follow up consultation, a finance lady said the doctor had just applied NHS funding to one procedure (probably the HSG, now MRI) and that I would go back to self funding afterwards. But that is not what I remember, I'm pretty sure I signed something to transfer completely to NHS funding. I've asked twice for them to send me a copy of what I signed and they haven't done. I've requested to be transferred to NHS and waiting to hear back. One bloody problem after another 😩. I've given up trying to get the SA results ahead of the consultation, if DP won't pressure them, then there's nothing I can do.

Has your GP contacted you yet? Did you manage to register with a new surgery or have you stayed with your previous one?

A friend on Facebook that I hadn't spoken to for years posted a couple of things that indicated she was having problems conceiving. People left pretty insensitive comments like "C'mon [husband's name] sort it out!", "Enjoy your free time while you've got it", "At least you're a Step-mum". So I reached out and asked her about it, turns out she's been trying for 3 years and is just starting fertility investigations, I think she was quite happy to realise someone else is going through a similar thing.

Have your old neighbours or your friend that you told, said anything about it recently?

unCliche · 13/05/2021 10:38

Haha thanks! My degree definitely helped by allowing me to recognise what needed to be done but I'm sure a quick google would have come up with instructions that you could follow, so I'm sure you could have done it yourself too!

😂😂 I shouldn't laugh as it must have been traumatising but the poor thing was probably having the time of its life with its new found freedom. Not a care in the world. Then something ate it in the end. When it comes to behaving sensibly, I don't and won't trust rabbits. When are you picking yours up? Send pics when you do!!

My temps have been a weird one so finding it hard to decipher. I didn't get an ovulation dip on CD14, I got it on CD13. I also got ovulation pain on CD13 but in the night time. However my OPK was +ve on CD13 so I couldn't have ovulated then, unless it was +ve for ages and I caught the end of my surge as CD14 was pretty much very -ve. I checked CM on CD14 and it was already starting to turn creamy. The only thing I can deduce is that I probably ovulated somewhere between CD13 and the early hours of CD14. Can I get ovulation pain before I've ovulated and not while I'm ovulating?

How are your OPKs today? +ve yet? A CD16 ovulation is normal for you so hopefully you have one this cycle. I'm jealous that you're morning DTD'ers. DH and I can never find time before 9pm and by then the day is over. I wanted to DTD yesterday and we hadn't finished watching our series until after midnight and there just wasn't any point DTD anymore as the day was already gone! I wanted to do it earlier and he wanted to watch one more episode 😠

That's still a silly reason. Why can't he have his results first and then you have a consultation with the doctor? Him knowing his results won't change anything and the consultant can still say what they need to say later. 😱😱😱 6th July! So far away but I guess it'll give you a good amount of time to have all your examinations done. Did you manage to sort out the invoice issue?

Yeah, I'll definitely voice my concerns of OHSS at the consultation. They'll hopefully start me off on lower doses and change it up as needed. I'm still waiting to hear back from the GP about my medical history!! I might have to call in or go in.

I actually saw a chart recently about exactly what you just said. How there's been this switch regarding how people vote. Brexit has definitely had a big influence and BoJo's chaotic energy is probably resonating with a lot of people.

I think mumsnet has been having issues recently. I saw some posts about how things were moving really slow. At least you got there in the end! That being said, I still have tor refresh the page to send this message!!

Glad you managed to fix the sofa, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that! That's where an engineering degree comes in handy 😂😂.

Hopefully the rabbits won't escape as they won't know how to survive in the wild, something will eat them! I had a rabbit about 10 years ago (different one to the one previously mentioned), that we let loose in the garden because we thought it was secure. However he must have dug a hole and got out because we never saw him again, he was probably eaten by a fox ☹️.

Have you had much of a temp increase? Although yours normally rises slowly so maybe it's too early to tell. As you had positive OPK and ovulation pain it seems pretty certain ovulation has happened. Great you've managed to DTD quite a few times! My OPK is negative again today, so our TWW will be a few days apart ☹️.

Their reason is they need the consultant to discuss the results but DP can't speak to the consultant because they won't let him attend appointments with me, arrgghh! I received a letter today with a date for our follow up consultation, for 6th July 😱. Seems ages away but I'll probably have the MRI in June, so the consultation can't be before that. Annoyingly they also sent me an invoice for the appointment, when I'm pretty sure I signed something to transfer to NHS funding, I've emailed them to query this.

DP seems to think MRIs are pretty safe as they use non-ionizing radiation, whereas x-rays and CT scans use ionizing radiation.

Yeh I can understand your worry about the OHSS, that is a real risk. They must have come across many patients with high AMH and polycystic ovaries, I'm sure they're used to tailoring the medication to be as safe as possible for those women. You could ask to be put on the lowest possible dose?

It's strange because typical Labour voters are working class and Tory voters are middle/upper class. However it seems the working class Brexit supporters, are now voting Tory and the middle class remain supporters are now voting Labour or left parties. Not everyone falls into those categories, as I'm a working class remainer but that's generally how the vote share has shifted. I think Labour need to stop putting all their efforts into winning back the industrial areas and Brexit supporters and focus on attracting new voters.

We're getting rid of the furniture as it's very old, so getting a rabbit has kinda forced us to have a clear out!

Good idea to get on the NHS waiting list and as you're with ABC in the meantime, it won't feel like you're waiting ages for things to happen!

Yes that's true, I suppose a place feels like home once you've got happy memories there. Fingers crossed in a year's time you'll be bringing a baby home and making lovely memories 😊.

Been trying to post this message for ages but Mumsnet must be playing up again!

unCliche · 11/05/2021 10:02

Ooops, 22mm x30 in one ovary (not follicle. They poor thing would probable explode if that was the case 😂)

OP posts:
unCliche · 11/05/2021 09:59

Yeah, I managed to rewire the sofa myself so it works now. Still annoying but at least it was an easy fix. I'm sure the rabbits are much happier outside and if they try to dig out and escape, then at least I tried my best to give them a home and I wish them well with their freedom.

I think I've ovulated already. I got a +ve OPK yesterday around 1pm so my peak must have been before that as I had terrible ovulation pain last night and none this morning. I probably ovulated in the early hours of the morning. DH only managed to finish once yesterday as the second time around, the pain while DTD was too much so we had to stop. I really wanted a second load of sperm but I hope we have enough. I read that for men with low sperm count, ejaculating everyday doesn't deplete sperm, you just ejaculate a similar number each time, so I hope I have a good accumulated number in there. We're going to DTD twice today and tomorrow.

Really? What was their reason for not giving him his SA? I'm sure if he could verify his identity over the phone they'd be no issue giving it to him. I guess they're just being difficult. You should tell them to just post it to you because this is a bit silly now.

I don't know how much an impact my low progesterone would have. Maybe I'd be super fertile but I'd have multiple MCs. My progesterone wasn't so low to stop me from getting pregnant but definitely low enough for a MC. Oh well, who knows what else is going on. IVF just helps us avoid all the long and costly investigations.

I was hoping we'd ovulate around the same time so we can have our TWW start at similar times but if yours is still two days away, we might have at least a two day gap. Hopefully no more! You might get a +ve OPK tomorrow! Well, I hope you do!!

Ah amazing news about being able to TTC this cycle! Will the MRI be safe for an embryo though? It'll be a lot of radiation. It'll be awesome to see the corpus luteum hard at work getting the progesterone out there though.

I worry I'll end up more than tender. My follicle during my last scan was 22mm. Imagine if I have 22mm x30 in one follicle. I think it would feel terrible. I just really hope I don't develop OHSS, so I really really need them to tailor my medication perfectly.

Yeah, that would have been a good idea but everyone wants a slice of the pie. If everyone who voted for Lib Dem voted for Labour instead, Labour would have won. But I guess when you're surrounded by middle class people, they'll generally vote Tories.

Aww you'll be getting a rabbit soon! I hope they're a delight for you! Are you selling the furniture to free up space or are they furniture you were planning on getting rid of anyway?

I've booked an appointment to speak to my GP next week about getting on the NHS waiting list for IVF. I probably won't need it but at least the process will be starting if all doesn't go well with abc.

I don't know if it feels like home, but it definitely feels like a space I'm happy to live in. I'm not sure what "feels like home" feels like. I suppose my parent's place feels like home. Right now, I haven't celebrated much achievements and milestones here so I don't have a lot of fond memories attached to it. As time goes on, I'm sure it'll start to feel more and more like the place I always want to get back to.

Haha that's funny you DTD twice whilst your friend was there, very sneaky, good work 😂😂😂. I think it's good you've put the bunnies outside, at least they can't damage anything else 😂. Have you be able to fix the sofa?

So DP rang the fertility clinic for his SA results and they fobbed him off as I knew they would. He wasn't prepared to be pushy and they won't give them to me, so we're gonna have to wait until the next consultation 🙄🙄.

Lol well your progesterone is low without the pessaries so even if your DH's sperm count was higher, you may still need some help. Something like clomid might have been all you needed but IVF will get you pregnant quicker!

Your OPK will probably be positive today or tomorrow? I did my first one this cycle today which was very negative but I never ovulate before CD15, so to be expected.

We can TTC this cycle, it won't be affected by the MRI. I'll be on CD20 when I have my next ultrasound so hopefully they'll be a corpus luteum to see!

Hopefully they'll give you a low dose of medication as you won't need much for stimulation. You might end up very tender before egg collection but it will all be worth it!

If someone told me age 20 that it all goes downhill from 25, I might have been more healthy but you assume aches, pains, cracks and clicks don't start until you're 50! Well that's what I thought anyway, how wrong was I 😂😂😂.

That's a shame the conservatives won, the left parties (labour, green and lib dem) need to make some deals to stand down, so that all 3 parties aren't standing in the same area, splitting the left vote.

Yeh good plan to book a venue soon, I agree I think places will book up fast, especially now they confirmed today that restrictions are releasing on 17th May.

Weekend was a quiet one, ordered an outdoor run for the rabbit and have arranged collection of some furniture, so we've got room for the hutch. Once the furniture is gone on Thursday then the hutch can be built and I can finally get a rabbit!

Have you been doing anymore indoor home improvements? Does it feel like your home now you've had time to settle in?

unCliche · 09/05/2021 20:54

My friend just left. Finally! I was hoping he'd leave a day earlier but DH and I managed to get x2 DTD in yesterday! So we're on schedule. 😅 I've also moved the rabbits back outside. It was either that or selling them. I bought wire mesh to cover the top of the run to keep them safe. As you can see, the garden is still a mess but we've removed all of the concrete and cut down most of the trees.

Ah so now you have to wait for another date to do the MRI and another date for your consultation. Well if they keep being this quick, maybe you'll be done with all your appointments by the end of this month. Yeah, defo get your DP to ask for his SA results although there isn't anything to worry about in that department - you lucky lady 😂😂 Sometimes I wonder if DH's sperm count was high if we'd be pregnant already. Maybe I'm super fertile secretly.

Ooops! I am CD12 aren't I? 😱 I forgot to do an OPK today! I'll hold my pee from now on and do one just before I sleep. Have you started OPKs?

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Better go serve your DP a little snack! 😂😂 Will you be using condoms going forward? I guess without an MRI date, you wouldn't be able to TTC this cycle as ovulation is right around the corner.

Yeah, I'm quite surprised too at how clear the follicles are! I hope mine are that clear. I just hope they're not so polycystic this time (apparently it can come and go.) 23 in one ovary is ridiculous and I know when on the medication my follicles will grow so big, it'll probably end up being very uncomfortable - I'm not looking forward to that.

I seriously think we're doing something wrong, because despite all odds, people get pregnant so easily! We're definitely the unlucky ones 😔

Yes! Absolutely! 25 is when everything starts going downhill!!! 😂😂😂 Can't believe your hips seize up though 😂😂😂 It must be what happens when you get close to 30, so I'll start expecting that soon 😂

No, my candidate didn't win 😞 Conservatives did 😪 but the majority of wards in Reading are Labour. Only three are Conservatives and I happen to live in one of them! The lady I voted for was Lib Dem but she didn't even come close to winning. I should have just gone for Labour 😂😂 But she was lovely either way.

Yeah, it might be worth booking waaaaaay in advance if you want to book a venue for your bday! I'm sure once restrictions are lifted, everyone will want to meet up with everyone.

How was your weekend??

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 08/05/2021 12:36

No unfortunately I've got to wait for a letter from the hospital with a date for the MRI, hopefully the wait won't be too long! The 18th May is the second ultrasound but it's in the radiology department, not the fertility department, so I won't be able to discuss my results or treatment plan. My consultant said she'll book a consultation to discuss next steps once we've got the results of the MRI and the second ultrasound. Yes I'm assuming all investigations and treatment will now be on the NHS. I've told DP he needs to ring the fertility clinic himself and ask for the SA results, else we'll be waiting months!

Aslong as you can DTD from tomorrow that should be okay, I don't think you ovulate as early as CD12? Hopefully you'll be able to get some up there at least a day before ovulation! Have you started OPKs?

We haven't DTD yet this cycle, we were abstaining due to the HSG I was going to have yesterday but turns out we didn't need to! We'll probably do it soon, I think DP is getting peckish 😂😂😂.

Yes I'm confident you'll get some good embryos! Also I imagine it's much easier for sperm to get to the egg in a petri dish, than swimming against gravity through the cervix, through the womb, then half pick the wrong fallopian tube, the half that go the right way then have to find the egg. It's quite an obstacle course!

Wow I'm surprised by that Day 3 scan, I didn't think they'd be able to see something so small, so clearly!

Yes fingers crossed your TSH comes back fine! It's surprising considering so many things can affect fertility and so many things have to go perfectly for conception to happen, that anyone can get pregnant!

I agree with joints not being what they used to be, before age 25 nothing ever clicked, now my knees often click when I stand up from bending down. Also my hips often seize up and I have to crack them to release full movement 🙄😩. I never knew I'd feel so old at 29 😂😂.

Yes I did vote, well done for voting, I think it's really important, especially for women seen as we didn't used to be allowed to! I'll send you a private message about how I voted, it would reveal too much info on here! Did the candidate you voted for win? That's funny you had those things in common!

Urgh I know, what a waste of the last year in my twenties 😭😭😭. I'm thinking of having a small party/gathering at a hotel or pub with a nice outdoor area. It depends on costs and restrictions but apparently they'll be no restrictions after 21st June. I'll make some enquiries! Unsure if I'll make my own outfit, depends how good some of the next things I make turn out!

Hope you're having a nice weekend with your friend visiting, shame the weather is rubbish!

unCliche · 07/05/2021 09:45

@Awils03 Sorry to hear about your MMC 😔 I'm not really sure, sorry. It could be left over hCG or you could be pregnant again. Give it another few days and see if it gets darker. Good luck!

@ButterscotchBabe Yaaay! That's good news! Will the MRI be today as well? I hope you get the results back quickly so you can have a proper discussion about it on 18th May. You'll also finally be able to find out your DP's SA results! Are your scans and consultations from now on going to be on the NHS?

I have a friend staying over so DTD will be difficult but if he's gone by Sunday then we might have a chance, although, ideally, I would like to start now. I'm CD10! If sperm can live for a week, I should have started two days ago. How are you guys planning on DTD? Have you been using protection or just abstaining?

I guess you're right. Making the baby is only one part of the 18 year journey and probably the least important part too. It just really sucks that it probably won't happen naturally but oh well. I should count my blessings. It could definitely be worse. I spoke to a lady on here whose DH had a really similar SA to my DH's and they'd been trying for 18 months (although she was over 35) so they went straight to normal IVF (not ICSI, phew!) and were able to get 8 good quality embryos! So hopefully DH's sperm can give us good embryos and we wouldn't need ICSI either. DH's sperm are really good swimmers (64% motility) so there's some hope yet.

Yeah, my scan will be internal on the 24th but I'm not that precious about my period. A little bit of blood never hurt nobody 😂 I just hope the follicles wouldn't be too small to see. Although this day 3 image seems pretty clear so hopefully it'll be fine.

Yeah, we can have previous results from up to a year ago, so my AMH and DH's SA should be good as we did them in January. I don't mind paying for the blood test at ABC. It'll be around £30, which is ok. I think they'd also want STD results and my last one was in 2017 just before I met DH so not sure if I'd have to do another one. However! I did get inspected (investigated, checked out?) in October because I was having weird cramps and had a swab done, and I was infection free, so I hope that'll be enough.

That's good that your TSH is normal because that's another thing that'll impact fertility. I hope mine is normal because treatment would be delayed to rectify it. I don't think I have symptoms of hyper- or hypo- thyroidism🤷‍♀️

Yeah, back pain when gardening is an issue. You'll have to use your knees a lot and I'm getting old 👵 my joints aren't what they used to be. I've been lifting with my knees and haven't done any damage to them or my back, so I'm doing something right, for now 😂 You could just grow plants indoors on your window sill and you wouldn't have to worry about bending to tend them.

Did you vote yesterday? I really couldn't be bothered, but I did anyway. I voted for the candidate who actually went around and delivered her leaflets herself. All the other parties used other people. So the fact that she worked hard for herself means she'll work hard for the council. Also she studied electronic engineering and worked in telecoms, so I definitely feel a bond 😂

Eeeeeeeeeee 3️⃣0️⃣!! You'll be in your thirties!!! What a waste of a year but I hope you can get something planned and celebrate it the way you deserve! What are you thinking of doing? Will you make your own birthday outfit?

Any help and advice would be appreciated🤞🏻🌈

Doctor just called, they've had approval for an MRI scan for me 😀😀. So I've cancelled tomorrow's HSG x-ray, so pleased I don't have to have that! My fertility doctor was concerned the MRI might not show inside the tubes but the radiology department have confirmed it's very detailed and they will be able to see inside the tubes. This will show a really clear picture of my whole lower abdomen, so hopefully it will reveal what the problem is!

ButterscotchBabe · 06/05/2021 13:39

Letter arrived today for my next ultrasound booked for 18th May, so that's not too long to wait 😊. Still don't know whether the HSG scan will go ahead tomorrow, waiting for Dr to call today.

You'll be coming into your fertile period soon, one of your last cycles for a chance of natural conception! Good idea to really go for it and get lots of DTD in 😂.

Having to go through IVF you miss the romance and spontaneity but you don't lose the magic, the magic is meeting your new baby for the first time and taking them home 😊. It doesn't matter how the baby is made, the important thing is the outcome 👶.

Haha yeh it did make me laugh when she said you'll need to use protection, my body seems to have its own, permanent, mechanism of protection! The HSG scan puts dye into your fallopian tubes, they then take several x-rays to show the dye moving through. The MRI will show a detailed view of the whole area but probably not inside the tubes. So they'll show different things, there's pros and cons to both but I'd rather have the MRI - less radiation and less painful!

Will your scan on the 24th be internal? I'm just thinking you'll likely be on your period but that probably wouldn't matter.

Will ABC want a SA or are they happy to go off your DH's previous results?

You could ask your GP for a TSH (thyroid) blood test as ABC will probably charge you. I had a TSH test about a year ago when I was having chest problems, as an overactive thyroid can cause increased heart rate and palpitations but my result was normal.

You're gonna get really fit with all this garden work! Just be careful not to damage your back, I hate gardening because all the bending over gives me backache ☹️.

Yeh we met a couple of friends at the pub a week or so ago but haven't seen anyone else since. As the weather gets better we'll probably go out more. I'm 30 in a couple of months so I'd like to start planning a fun day but it's difficult to know what will be going on with Covid at that time!

unCliche · 05/05/2021 12:33

I wouldn't have minded them being outside but DH doesn't want a large enclosure like they had before and I want something sturdy and secure so it's safer for them to be indoors at the moment. We'll have to rethink their space. They have so much to chew that it's not boredom at this point. It's curiosity and the need to annoy me.

DH definitely wants IVF more than me. I flip flop between wanting to wait to see if it'll happen naturally to wanting it to happen through any means possible. I guess I'm just sad that I can't do something that so many other woman can and we'd have to fork out thousands to make a baby. We're lucky money isn't an issue but I still don't like the prospect of using it to create a life. It would have been nice if two bodies came together to make a baby. With IVF, the magic is gone.

It's definitely a good plan for you guys to go straight for IVF. You should really push your clinic if they suggest otherwise. A lot of it is a waiting game with the NHS so you might want clomid while you wait for an IVF spot. It'll be better than DTD and hoping for the best while the waiting list is 12 months long or something.

That's good! You don't ask, you don't get so at least by asking she's put it forward and you could potentially be having an MRI. Will an MRI show the same thing as a HSG? Haha enjoy protecting yourself from a natural potential pregnancy since we're super fertile 😂 But better safe than sorry! Condoms are the worst, I'd rather abstain, but Friday is literally two days away anyway so abstaining might be fine too.

24th May will be my scan, which will potentially be on CD3. 1st June would be my consultation and the next AF after that will be due 17th June, which will be the cycle I start my medication (hopefully 🤞) The AF after that will be due 12th July so I hope things move really quickly so I can start in the June cycle. I think 3 weeks between consultation and next cycle will be enough time to get everything sorted. I've started collating all past examination results. I also need a TSH blood test, which I hope to get with ABC, smear results, and MMR vaccination evidence, which I'll need to get from my GP. If I can get all of those, it might speed things up.

Haha back to exercising you go! We've been hauling blocks of concrete, so that's my workout regime at the moment. Now that the weather is beginning to warm up (barely) you can look to start some outdoor workouts.

Yeah, I want to buy an incinerator bin to get rid of the wood quickly and DH wants a proper bonfire, so we'll get both 🔥

I have a friend staying over the weekend. Have you met up with anyone yet?

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 04/05/2021 21:23

Aww, they might prefer being outside as they were outside before? Maybe try getting some extra chew toys or edible things that help with their instinct to knaw/chew. Fingers crossed you're able to get the sofa repaired!

Fertility is a complex thing, there could be absolutely nothing wrong and it just hasn't happened yet, it could be something very simple to fix, or it could be something rare and complicated. Until you've exhausted all tests and treatments, you just won't know what the issue is (or if there is one). But to save your sanity in the meantime, it's probably best to go for IVF and it's great your DH is very supportive of doing that.

DP very much wants us to have IVF, especially now knowing my egg reserves are low, he doesn't want us wasting time on Clomid.

My af was painful the first couple of days but since then it's been much lighter and painfree, so overall not too bad!

The consultant rang me this evening in response to my email asking to have an MRI instead of the HSG scan. It's not within the approved CCG fertility treatment so she can't authorise it straight away but she has requested this for me. Only problem is the HSG is booked for Friday, so if she doesn't hear back by Thursday, I'll have to have it anyway. They've told me I must use protection from now until the procedure 😂 and I need to bring a urine sample.

As you don't know exactly when CD3 of your next cycle will be, will that affect you starting IVF on the 24th May? By starting, does that mean having the first stimulation injection?

Haha can't let the dress out, there's no extra fabric, I'll have to lose weight, doh!

Will you have a fire to burn the wood? Could make for a good evening party!

unCliche · 04/05/2021 15:14

😠 No, it doesn't recline at all. Luckily we bought protection so I hope they'll be able to send us spare parts. I'm actually quite fed up. So much effort for so little reward. I love them but at this point they're more trouble than they're worth. Especially white rabbit! He purposely targets the places he knows he's not allowed to go. We blocked underneath the sofa with wood and he'll go there and try and pull the wood out to get underneath and continue causing damage. And grey rabbit is just a miserable little thing. Can you tell I'm really annoyed?

Looks like a good hutch. More than enough space for a single rabbit. Definitely a good move to get one or else they end up really unsocial like mine 😂 I might create an outdoor setup for them so that they're permanently outdoors and I wont have to see them.

Greek Easter was good. Spent the day at DH's friends with some other couples too and then we stayed the night. Visited my grandma yesterday which was nice. Definitely wasn't expecting her to bring up babies but I just get the impression everyone in my family got pregnant so easily so I just feel a bit broken. DH was saying today that he really wants us to go for IVF as all the NHS rules and requirements causes a lot of mental health struggles and I guess with his BMI and sperm count, he worries he'd be the one holding us back. So next month, I could be pregnant.

Yeah, I'm just a day ahead of you. Let's hope for a CD15 ovulation for you and CD16 ovulation for me so we can be cycle twins again. This might be one of the last times we can have chats about our cycles. AF was a good length and pretty much cramp free. How was yours?

Amazing! Yaaay! Friday is so soon. Thank goodness they were really quick to book you in. Do you need to do anything to prepare for it?

I'll be having my baseline scan on CD3 of my cycle with abc ivf on 24th May. I hope they'll be able to see all the follicles. I might call and see if they have an earlier appointment and potentially change locations to Oxford as it's closer.

I'm not sure. But Aski isn't in heat so she's currently the unhormonal version of herself so she'd probably stay the same. With white rabbit, it's not because he has or hasn't been neutered. It's because he likes to do things he's not allowed to do. He's defiant and enjoys breaking the rules. His brother is nothing like him. He follows rules!

Haha! Aww you're going to have to let your dress out or lose weight! Whichever is quickest 😂 I'll probably spend the evenings sorting out the garden. We have lots of wood to incinerate and concrete to remove.

Got my HSG x-ray booked for Friday, shocked they had a slot available that quickly! I was half expecting to be told to call back next month!

ButterscotchBabe · 03/05/2021 22:37

Oh no naughty bunny!! Does the sofa not recline now? Is there anyway it can be repaired? Would having a garden run help, so during the day they can be outside and then inside they're just in their pen?

This is the hutch we bought, I didn't want one this big but DP did, even though he wasnt getting involved 🙄. Turns out it's 12cm longer than the description! It's 194cm instead of 182cm 😱. So now we're having to have a major clear out and reorganisation of the house!

We've decided to just get one male rabbit, so I'll regularly call or pop in to the store and hopefully they'll get some soon. The current females they have are a mixed breed, part rex and part something else but I can't remember!

Sounds like you've had a full on bank holiday weekend! How was Greek Easter?

Haha we always use preseed, I find it more comfortable 😂. Yes CD5 today, did you end up being 1 or 2 days ahead of me? Your af has probably finished now? Mines gone pretty light.

Yep once I have the next consultation I'll be asking about starting IVF and what the waiting times are. Still haven't got any dates for my next scans though. I rang again on Friday to book the HSG, as no-one called me back. Apparently the correct person wasn't available so now I'm expecting a call tomorrow 🙄.

To have an AMH of 40 (I can't remember your exact number but I think it was around this), shows you have a large quantity of eggs and because you're young, they'll be lots of good ones in there! I think you'll do just fine with IVF and you won't have long to find out!

I'm surprised your Grandma asked if you'd seen a doctor yet, were you expecting her to bring up babies? I hope that didn't make you feel too uncomfortable. Luckily my family haven't asked any questions but I think it's because we're not married yet.

Yes I got a spare blade and a cutting mat, got all the kit now 😉😊.

Do cats personalities change after being spayed? I've read female rabbits become more mellow and less destructive after being spayed. Although being neutered didn't stop white rabbit 😕. I guess cats and rabbits wouldn't normally be friends!

My weekend has been okay thanks, I've made progress on the maxi dress, it's now one piece but it's a bit tight around the bum and thighs! I must have grown since I last took my measurements! 😕😕

unCliche · 03/05/2021 19:27

Looks like it's time for white rabbit to go. He's chewed through the cables of our recliner sofa. So it's either we get rid of them both or keep them confined indefinitely 😡 so destructive! I'm seriously considering selling them now.

Awww! It would have been exciting if you'd gotten rabbits. I think you'd probably find a male + female pair easier to deal with than single gender pairs. You'd just have to be quick to neuter/spay them though. Male rabbits are harder to bond with each other so I was lucky that my boys got along after all the hormonal fighting that happened. Did you get the hutch that you showed me a while back? Also what breeds were the rabbits they had and what will you get instead?

Haha! I think I'll have to suck it up and prepare for the marathon that is due to commence. I might have to use preseed as I know I won't always be in the mood. Are you on CD5 today?

It might be worth finding out approximate wait times for IVF so if you need to go private, you can make a move asap. At least you know how to push for information, so you might as well live up to your reputation and call them until you get the info you need 😂

Fingers crossed you get a good number of embryos when it's time. You're nowhere near 35 so your eggs will still be good, you might even be able to get a few IVF cycles in before your eggs start deteriorating. The way things have been going, I don't think I'll be so lucky 😂 I'll probably get lots of eggs, but only 2 will fertilise or something. Anyway let's wait and see what happens.

My grandma asked about my fertility today. Asked if DH and I had seen a doctor yet. She said it was her duty as a grandmother to ask. I mean, I guess it is strange that I've been married a year and haven't give birth nor am I even a little bit pregnant. I should probably start telling people we're infertile and so kids won't be in our future.

Rotary cutters are great. Definitely buy some spare blades as they blunt after a while. Did you get a cutting mat too? My sewing stuff is still in the garage 😁 One day they'll see the light of day.

Aski will be getting spayed and microchipped on 17th May. So not too long to go now. I think she really wants some freedom so it'll be good for her to get out once she's healed from her surgery. I wouldn't say there's been much progress with the rabbits relationship with her. They still tolerate each others presence but aren't friends.

How was your weekend??

unCliche · 02/05/2021 12:33

Spent all of yesterday bringing down a tree so was absolutely exhausted and I'll be spending Greek Easter with friends today so I'll respond shortly. Hopefully tonight, if not, then once I've returned back to Reading tomorrow afternoon/evening as I'll be visiting my grandma as well! Take care 💕

So we almost got rabbits today... Pets at home had 2 female rabbits in store. Turns out they've had lots of rabbits over the past couple of weeks, even though when we last went there, they gave the impression they weren't getting any for ages!! These rabbits weren't that cute and ideally I wanted a male so decided against it but instead we bought a hutch, so as soon as they have a rabbit we like, we can get it 😊. I feel a bit sad because I could have had some rabbits running around at home now but hopefully they'll have a cuter male next time. They said they prefer to sell in pairs, so we're considering getting two but I'm worried they won't be as friendly.

We will still 'try' to conceive but it feels like our efforts are futile. I really hope that due to my low egg quantity they won't waste time with clomid and will allow me to go straight to IVF. Unless I've got a hydrosalpinx, then I'll have to have surgery first.

6 solid days of DTD 😱😂, I don't know who that's harder on, you or your DH?! 😂😂

Because the NHS moves so slowly there's no way we'd be starting IVF in July but hopefully I'll be pregnant by the end of this year. So our babies shouldn't be too far apart 😊. Although I don't know what the NHS IVF waiting times are, if it's a year then we'll probably go private.

😂😂😂 They're probably thinking "oh no, not another one of those, 10% of customers..." 😂😕😕. Thing is if I hadn't harassed them I wouldn't know the result by now, they only gave in to get rid of me!

Feeling pretty sad about the result, 5 is pretty shit at my age. I knew the result wouldn't be good because my FSH level was high but I was hoping it would be at least 10. It just means it's really crucial to get those eggs asap whilst there's still hopefully some good ones. Apparently eggs on their own don't do very well with the freezing and defrosting but embryos do much better. So all I can do is hope we can get a few good embryos.

I'd imagine you'd get more than 2 frozen embryos, my guess is you'll get 6/7. You'll probably produce about 20 eggs but they'll be a drop off rate for which ones successfully become embryos.

If after #1 we still have frozen embryos then I'll do a FET for #2. If that doesn't work then we'll have to do IVF again and go through the egg collection process.

Haha I bought a new phone case and some more brown paper for sewing patterns, still got some money left. Also bought a rotary cutter from Minerva, this is gonna make cutting fabric so much easier! Have you got the sewing gear out yet? We'll have to wear something we've made when we meet up 😊👗.

No start date yet for DP but his contract said 23rd April, although he wasn't paid for last month. He'll start when the laptop arrives and hopefully he'll be paid for the whole month.

When are you getting Aski microchipped so she can go outside? Hopefully the bunnies have got more used to her now!

Have you got much planned over the bank holiday weekend? I'm hoping to finish the maxi dress 👗.

unCliche · 30/04/2021 18:24

Aww it's a shame it isn't "TTC" for you guys anymore. But I suppose you can use this time to relax and enjoy each others company before all the medication and bodily-invasion starts. I've told DH we'll start DTD 3 days before ovulation and finish 2 days after. That's 6 solid days of baby making exercise, including day of ovulation 😂 If that doesn't work, then the cycle after that we'll DTD every single day 😂😂 Then after that, IVF hopefully 🤞 I'm actually ok with a March baby. It seems like March is my lucky month so maybe it's a sign 😁

Yaaay you finally got your results! Absolutely hilarious that they know who you are because you've called in so much 😂😂 but your persistence got things moving! Hopefully they won't be as slow with getting your IVF started. How are you feeling about your result? Will you think about potentially freezing some eggs?

I suppose whether or not you're given clomid hinges on your scan results. If they can book you in for that very soon then hopefully by the time your next cycle comes around, you'll have some sort of treatment plan in place. Do you have any idea of NHS IVF wait times?

My AF is fine, pain free and a good flow (whatever that means 😂). Sorry yours has been painful. When you were on the vitamins they were painless right? You could look into starting some of the vitamins again.

Yep, I've read the same regarding OHSS. Looking at costs, ICSI would be £3700 and a FET would be an additional £750 I think. I am quite worried about OHSS but I hope they'll be able to manage it. You have to go into the clinic every 2 or so days to monitor follicle growth so if they can stop my ovaries from going crazy, I'd say yes to a fresh transfer. I'd like to have at least 2 frozen embryos for future pregnancies although I'd still want to try naturally to see if it would work.

Do you think after your first is born that you'd try to do a FET or another round of IVF to conceive #2? At abc, the initial embryo freezing fee is for two years storage so I'd probably wait until #1 is a few months old before sticking in their embryo sibling.

Congrats on your recognition! I would have preferred £50 to a shoutout if I'm honest 😂 What you gonna buy? I'd probably get a cat flap 😹 And amazing news about your DP's job! Does he have a start date now?

No plans to do anything different this cycle, it doesn't feel like we're TTC anymore, because we can't, just feels like we're waiting to get treatment. If you're going for DTD everyday, you might not want to start too early 😂😂.

Rang the fertility clinic again this morning (4th time) for AMH result, when they asked for my name the lady said 'oh you've rang a lot'. I must be getting a reputation 😂😂. I said it's causing me a lot of distress not knowing and asked if someone could let me know today, she said she'll see if a junior doctor can call me back. So now waiting for that call!

That's good you've got something to be excited about now and you've got a timescale to work towards. Yeh those threads on the infertility board are really helpful, they've taught me a lot about the whole process. I was going to join a Clomid thread but haven't now as I don't know if I'll be given it.

How's your af today? Is it painful or just heavy? Mine has got heavier now and was painful last night.

Fertility clinic just rang me back woohoo! My result is 5, they said 3-8 is considered low. So unfortunately I wouldn't be eligible for ABC ☹️. The AMH is an indicator of egg quantity, not egg quality, so because of my age they don't think this result should affect my chances of conceiving. But it does mean I need to move quickly whilst I've hopefully still got some good eggs.

It might be safer to do ICSI because at least then you know every egg you produce will get fertilised. If they try for normal IVF and the sperm don't manage to fertilise many, you could end up with less embryos. Yep the downside of having good egg reserves means you're at a higher risk of OHSS but some doctors say you've got a higher chance of conceiving with a FET rather than fresh because your body has had a chance to rest and come off the stimulation drugs. Also getting pregnant worsens the OHSS.

If you've got a bank of frozen embryos it probably wouldn't be worth trying naturally for too long for No.2, the cost of a FET is much cheaper than the egg collection process. But you never know, you might conceive easily after the first one!

The HSG needs to be done before ovulation, so because I ovulate between CD15 - CD20, they'll need to do it CD14 latest. I've called this morning but the person I need to speak to wasn't available, so I'm waiting a call back!

Haha yep it sounds like a pay rise might be coming your way! I also got a recognition award yesterday, they gave me £50 worth of Amazon vouchers 😊. They also did the same to two other people in our team, so it wasn't just me. Progress has finally been made with DP's job! He's got a staff number, a contract and his IT equipment should be arriving next week 😀😀.
