Hey @ButterscotchBabe! Continuing our chat here 😁

I loooove that your temps did exactly what mine did too. So good that AF hasn't arrived at CD26!! Happy for you! When your temps increased last month, was it is to a gradual high or did it jump up again and then AF started? Because if this pattern is new, it could mean good news!

Ours definitely look like the beginning of a triphasic chart. My temps last month started dropping at 7DPO, so it still being high at 9DPO is such an achievement for me and no sign of AF either although my vulva feels AF'y in a weird way. My pulse and breathing rate have also continued to shoot up!! If temps don't tell you AF is coming, pulse rate defo will because it always starts falling a few days before AF for me.

I do suspect chemical but no BFP so can't confirm and nothing else changed that cycle so I can't explain it. Hormones were defo the reason I never took the pill, it plays such a big part in changing your reproductive cycle that of course it would have an affect on cycles after you come off them! 45 day cycles sound like a nightmare - especially when TTC too.

I do have a FRER! I'm always so scared to use it though. I always use rubbish ICs which probably aren't the best thing but I will use my FRER with you!

I like predicting what my temps will do with DH. What do you think will happen tomorrow? I think both our temps will go up again 😆

I got good news this morning. HPV letter arrived!! The spotting made me start googling 'signs of cervical cancer' because at this point, my body may just straight-up hate me but at least I'm infection free. Yay! The spotting is settling down now anyway and should hopefully stop tomorrow so we can start with DTD. I also booked an appointment at the fertility clinic for DH and I. We'll be going next Tuesday! Wish us luck!! Have you started looking into fertility checks?

I haven't changed my vitamins but maybe I need to stop or cut back? I could take the B-complex for now and stop everything else. But I don't really think it's the vitamins. It's defo hormonal and it's semen or conception or failed-implantation induced - just not sure which one.

I'm right here with you with all the alcohol drinking. I've had a drink everyday since Xmas. We've also been sleeping and waking up late - only God (and DH) knows what my temps are doing. Hopefully you're able to see a clear temp shift despite it all. I'm still a week away from ovulation!

Haha I ordered these for him as well as the ones for sperm count and motility (just in case). They have really good reviews but I only thought he'd need to take three separate pills, not 3 of one, 2 of another and 2 of another. Oh well! The things we do to keep the wife happy.

Haha I can imagine your DP begrudgingly wearing the PJs. But like I said... The things we do to keep the wife (or fiancee) happy 😂 Me too! PJs all day everyday. I actually ordered five more so that I had a nice rotation available.

A maxi dress would definitely be what I'd go for too with that fabric - so pretty! I think you should leave it baggy and create a waist belt for it. That way you can tighten it around your waist but have the loose, flowy look too.

I've started using visualisers to see what rugs and tiles would look like in the new house. I really like this beige rug. I think it suits the floorboards and the fireplace. And the bathroom currently has blue floor tiles which I want to paint a dark grey/slate colour. But I still don't like the blue trim on the walls so might replace them. What do you think?

If it's any consolation I don't really know what my temps are doing either, due to Christmas we've had lots of late nights/late wake ups, struggling to sleep and drinking more alcohol which affects my sleep and temp. So I've been unable to record it on several days so far this cycle 😭. That's strange you're still spotting, it shouldn't last that long. I normally get 2 days of brown spotting after the red stuff stops. My guess would be it's a hormonal issue, your body's not getting rid of the previous lining quick enough. Unsure what would cause that, have you had a recent change in vitamins?

7 pills a day 😱 are they all necessary? Can you get him a multivitamin so that he only has to take 1 tablet? I know DP would not be happy if I asked him to take 7 pills a day 😂. I haven't really looked into it but yeh I'd probably get a general men's fertility multivitamin.

Haha that's funny your DH won't wear PJs, I bought some for DP and while he doesn't mind wearing them, I have to keep telling him to put them on, they're not his first choice of clothing 😂. I on the other hand have lived in my PJs this year!

I decided to make a maxidress with the viscose fabric, because I'm petite the pattern sizes always come out too big even if I select one with the right waist size. The neck area is quite baggy, I did tighten it but unfortunately didn't check it again before attaching the neck bias. Now it's gonna be a right hassle to amend so I might just leave it. Need to work out how to do darts though as the back is very baggy!

unCliche · 28/12/2020 19:27

I wish I was tracking! I want to know what my temps are doing and DH won't tell me 😭 I've been spotting non-stop for four days since AF stopped! It's dark brown and there's so much of it. I usually have a very small amount/single day of spotting when AF ends but it's so strange what is happening! It's all weird gooey. I just don't understand what's going on in my body anymore! How long after AF do you usually spot for? Might need to see a doctor to rule out an infection.

Ooo the fun begins! Glad to hear you're DTD right through ovulation! I'm not sure I want to DTD until this spotting stops, it's not very nice. So I'll give it a few days before we start.

Haha my DH knows he has no choice! But he is very willing. He'll have to swallow 7 pills a day! Hehe poor guy! I also ordered some agnus castus for myself. I've never tried dissolvables, all the ones I take are proper solid pills. It wouldn't hurt if your DP took some but you're right, it does usually feel like our responsibility but infertility is just as much a man's issue as it is a woman's. What pills do you think you'd put him on? A general fertility multivitamin?

I'm not sure, I think if I couldn't conceive my own children I wouldn't be thinking about adoption. I'd be doing all I could to have my own baby. But I guess I'd eventually have to think about adoption if all options had been exhausted or if my body got too old.

DH would not wear PJs haha! But I would be happy to make one for myself and eventually a little bubba.

Hahaha! You should tell him to join too! As there are many dads and dads to be here! 😂

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 28/12/2020 16:28

Haha it's gonna be strange this cycle not being able to compare OPKs, charts and symptoms! My OPK was negative today (17%) but to be expected, hoping ovulation will happen in 3 or 4 days. CM was sticky yesterday but is more watery today so ovulation is on its way 😊. We're gonna try and DTD every other day until after ovulation.

Is your DH happy to take the vitamins? Did you get chewy ones, dissolvable ones or tablets? My vitamin C and zinc is dissolvable which makes it much easier to take than the folic acid with vitamin D. DP takes a large dose of folic acid but that's because medication he's on depletes this. I could see if he's happy to take some, it just kinda feels like my responsibility but you're right, the baby will be half him!

The effects of IVF not working won't be any worse than not being able to conceive naturally. Considering they put the embryo straight into the womb, there's not too much that can go wrong, especially as I'm still relatively young, so I think my chances are good. Yes I would consider adoption but it would be as a last resort, I'd like to have our own if possible. How long do you think you would try for before going down the adoption route?

"Unfertility" oh no 😂😂 maybe you could make a matching set of PJs for you and DH? Then you can always add baby ones later on!

DP said to me " isn't Mumsnet for Mums?" I said "AND MUMS TO BE!" 😂😂

9DPO Symptom Spotting
unCliche · 27/12/2020 20:00

Haha that's a fair enough assumption. I guess it's a nice vegetarian alternative if you have non-meat eaters.

I'm on CD 6, so 4 days behind. There may be little chance of catching up this cycle but since I'm not using OPKs or tracking temps myself, I won't know what DPO I am anyway. I think I'll live vicariously through you! Let me know EVERYTHING that you're feeling!

I've just ordered a whole bunch of fertility vitamins for DH. Is your DP taking anything? I think it's only fair we both sort out our reproductive health as the baby is still half of him, regardless of me only being the vessel and the fuel tank (what....?)

But what about the emotional and mental and physical and financial toll it'll take on you? The first three embryo transfers may be fine but after that I think I'd bury myself under my covers and never come out again. Would you ever consider adoption? I'd love to adopt after having at least two biological children.

Lounge clothes is an idea. I'm sure if I start thinking hard enough, I'll find some inspiration somewhere. Maybe I'll name my first collection "unFertility" so not exactly infertile but not fertile either.

ButterscotchBabe · 27/12/2020 19:07

@unCliche I'm not sure if cauliflower cheese is traditionally served with Christmas dinner, it's a roast dinner staple and I've been served it before at Christmas, so I just assumed it was meant to be there 😂.

What cycle day are you on? I can't remember if you're 4 or 5 days behind me. That's odd you're period has become shorter since trying to conceive, good theories though! It probably would be worth getting some tests done to make sure your hormones are all where they should be, although I'm sure you're already planning that!

Well the way I see it is IVF is the only way to pretty much guarantee a pregnancy, if the first embryo doesn't stick they'll just keep putting more in until one does. So although it will be an uncomfortable process, the outcome will be worth it.

Maybe you could work on some lounge clothes or pyjamas? I haven't bought stretch needles but my sewing machine did come with a few different needles, I'll have to have a look and see what I've got!

unCliche · 27/12/2020 17:51

@ButterscotchBabe I suppose Reading can be viewed as a local area of London? 😂 I'm just popping down the road and it won't take any more than 1.5 hours. Pretty reasonable I say 😉 I'm jealous you're in Tier 2! We jumped from Tier 2 to Tier 4 overnight!

Oh I never knew cauliflower cheese was a Christmas dish? At least you have 12 whole months to learn and perfect the recipe now.

Yeah, AF ended on Christmas eve. I remember the good old days of five day periods. It only started getting shorter the second half of this year and the only thing I changed is me TTC! I've just done a quick search and other ladies experience the same so my only theories are 1) because we're so hyper-focused on our bodies, our menstrual cycle absolutely loves the attention and starts misbehaving, 2) the sperm is invoking some sort of hormonal reaction 3) sperm meets egg and that releases hormones which affects subsequent cycles.

Or it could be the vitamins.

You're so calm about the whole IVF thing. Aren't you scared about how invasive it is and all the poking and prodding you'll have to go through?

I don't really go out, and when I do, it's usually t-shirt and jeans appropriate so I don't have any need for anything else in particular. Hehe let me know how your jumper goes. Have you bought stretch needles?

@1littlewren Glad you feel better! If there's one thing I've learnt while TTC, our bodies will always find new ways to keep us on our toes. If you're getting BFNs then AF is probably just late. But hopefully that's not the case! Good luck 😊

OP posts:
1littlewren · 27/12/2020 16:39

Hey all sorry to jump on the thread...

I need to get this out to someone so I shall post on here in the vain hope there is someone out there in the same boat that wants a good old rant about how annoying it is waiting for AF or BFP!!!

So I was due on on 25th but I usually have spotting the day before. So woke up 25th (yes Xmas day) and was SOOOO moody and cranky. Was convinced I was coming on. Nothing. Not a spot. I am regular as clockwork and nothing!!! I’ve had minimal cramps, I feel super bloated and my boobs feel enormous. I have done a couple of tests and nothing. I am sure with my first I had passed my period date but I wasn’t tracking that so I have no real idea when I was due or how long past that date I found out I was preggers.

I would love to have my second and it’s driving me insane. I am never late and genuinely there is no sign of anything happening downstairs.

I feel better now I’ve got that off my chest. Isn’t it funny how sometimes just writing it down can make you feel better.

ButterscotchBabe · 27/12/2020 15:53

It's unlikely you'll get stopped by the police, they don't have time to randomly stop cars. I think the Tier 4 rules are no one is allowed to travel anywhere unless for work. Luckily we've remained in Tier 2 but that will probably change.

Haha possibly, I'll have to learn how to do cauliflower cheese next time, I didn't know how so left it out this time.

Has your af finished now? I'm on CD10 so will start OPKs tomorrow. Does your DH have a plan or will he just decide as he goes along? Yeh I've also kinda given up hoping to see a BFP, I'm fully expecting to go down the IVF route next year, hopefully in a few months.

I was planning on following another dress pattern but I think I'll loosely follow it and maybe make some changes. I need to draw out some ideas before I start cutting the fabric. I've ordered some pencils and a sketch book but they don't arrive until Wednesday. Ah that's a shame you've gotta wait a few weeks for the fabric, in the meantime are there any items of clothing that you are short on? I don't have many jumpers so I might attempt to make one with the stretchy fabric, probably won't go to plan though 😂.

unCliche · 27/12/2020 13:07

Growing up there, we've never had issues with our neighbours and the ones on the left are always so lovely so I'm not really worried about them. I'm more worried about getting stopped by the police. Hopefully nothing happens! I'm not sure what the rules are on travelling from Tier 4 to Tier 4. But I suppose since we're all highly diseased together, it shouldn't make a huge difference.

Will you be Christmas Chef going forward? It wasn't actually so stressful. Everything was ready the day before and all we had to do was put the foods in the oven on the day.

Nah, I think I've learnt enough about my body to generally know when I ovulate but I probably won't be checking CM either so I'll be in the dark. The only thing I'm sure of is that I do ovulate, so as long as we DTD every other day, or whatever DH plans, we'll be fine. I really hope relinquishing control helps although I've pretty much accepted my fate of AF showing up every cycle so I don't really care anymore 🤷‍♀️ I'm letting goooooo ❄️

I think the rabbits will really enjoy running around the house. I'll probably lock them away in the kitchen before bed as there's less things they can destroy in there.

Ah congratulations on your dress debut! Sounds like it went really well! It's definitely a nice feeling to feel accomplished! I've ordered my air mesh fabric from China, so it should be here in a few weeks. Not sure what to make in the meantime though. I also need to do the photoshoot for the other outfit. Have you decided on a design for that lovely fabric you showed me?

ButterscotchBabe · 26/12/2020 21:04

No plans for New Years yet, we'll either do a zoom call with friends or just watch movies. How well do your family get on with their neighbours? If they get on well you should be okay 😂.

Ah we don't have a dishwasher, wish we did! That's cool you had a whole range of foods, keeps it interesting! We had the standard Christmas dinner with biscuits and chocolates afterwards. It was a bit scary cooking for 5 as I'm used to portioning for 2 but it worked out fine and I enjoyed being in control of the food!

Won't your DH need the OPKs to make a decision on when to DTD? I can't imagine not using them anymore, I don't think I'd be able to cope with not knowing what's going on 😂.

Oh no that's sad he won't allow them to be in the garden, it looks like you've got plenty of space. Could they not go at the bottom of the garden? Then they're kinda out the way and you've still got use of the green space.

I was a bit nervous wearing the dress to start with and carried an extra dress with me incase the stitches came out 😂. But it was fine and all stayed in place 😊. My family were quite impressed, they majorly changed their reaction when I told them I'd made it. I first said "do you like my dress?" They said "yeh it's nice" then I said "I made it" and they were like "wow it's amazing, that's really impressive" 😂😂. Have you started on your next sewing project?

Christmas was actually quite nice. We invited friends over as they also couldn't spend Christmas was their family. We cooked so much food! And played games too 😁 glad you made the most of the alcohol drinking. Codenames is such a good name, I'm not surprised you all enjoyed it. Do you have anything planned for New Year's? I may go and spend it with my family and just risk getting caught.

Haha that's a cute little arrangement. DH and I both did the cooking and we've just been loading the dishwasher because today is not the day for manual labour 😂😂 we ate a mixtures of dishes and cuisines. Our guests brought a Chinese soup too which was very fruity and lovely. We had the tradional Christmas foods as well as a Greek potato salad and a West African rice dish. How did you find cooking for your whole family? Did you enjoy it?

Hmm well cutting the dosage down won't hurt. I've forgotten to take my vitamins on two occasions and I think it's because I'm no longer tracking my temps since handling my fertility is no longer the first thing I do each morning. I'll probably ditch the OPKs too and put all my faith in DH getting it right.

I was hoping to give them free reign of the house to be honest but the new garden is spacious. Only issue it DH doesn't want me to erect their enclosure and make the space ugly so they'll be nowhere suitable for them to live. Worse comes to worse, we'll give them away 💔

How did it feel wearing something you made??

Hope you had a lovely Christmas! How was it with just you and DH? I had a good day, my family loved the codenames game! Woke up pretty hungover this morning though!

Yes DP and I have an agreement where I do all the cooking and he does all the washing up. I hate washing up and I'm quite particular with how my food looks so it suits me! I cooked Christmas dinner yesterday at my Mum's which went down well 😊. What did you guys eat?

I was really pleased with the vitamin C when there was a big improvement with my luteal phase in cycle 4, however when cycle 5 then got a lot worse I thought well the vitamin C is no longer doing its job. I'm still taking it just 500mg rather than 1000mg.

Oh wow your rabbits have loads of space, they're very lucky! It might be difficult for you to give them as much space indoors. Does your new house have a garden big enough for that enclosure?

unCliche · 24/12/2020 21:05

Merry Christmas Eve! 🎄

Ooo that looks really good and seems quite easy to make too. Maybe I'll have a go at it! Do you do most of the cooking in your home?

It's never too late to get a degree in medicine 😉

I'm hoping it'll help with the anxiety. The worst thing is seeing my temps come crashing down and knowing AF is coming. Maybe I'll be able to relax through the process too. Hehe I guess you're not ready to give your DP that level of control but maybe DTD daily isn't a bad idea.

Oh why'd you cut it down? That's the amount of Vit C I'm currently taking and haven't seen any adverse affects.

They're not caged rabbits. They live outside in a huge walk-in enclosure and rarely enter their hutch so I'd rather they become house rabbits because they're my babies and I want them close to me. You're right about cats, my neighbours cats kill all sorts of birds, mice, etc. I'd want a warm, cuddly kitty who'd follow me around everywhere. I've never considered a rat before! I never knew they could be so loving. That's exactly how I want my rabbits to be with me but I know they'd make it a mission to be on the opposite side of the room to me - meanies.

Just spent the whole day doing Christmas food prep. I wish I was travelling to my parents instead but it's fine. Better safe than sorry!

www.theendlessmeal.com/creamy-coconut-chicken-curry/

This is one of my favourite recipes and it's really easy to amend, I often add extra veggies such as spinach, peppers and butternut squash.

Lol you might struggle to interpret the results though? Just thinking a lot of medical tests involve numbers and words most people aren't familiar with, so it might be difficult to understand to an untrained eye.

Haha omg that's a cool idea! If I did that DP would be saying everyday we need to DTD 😂😂. How do you think you will cope with DH having the control? Do you think it will stop the anxiety in the TWW?

I don't think we'll do anything different, I've cut my vitamin C down from 1000mg to 500g a day. 1000mg is way above the recommended daily allowance so I don't think I need that much.

The garage would probably be okay if you put some blankets under the cage and if you had an outdoor pen it wouldn't be far to carry them. We don't have any pets, I'd like to have some in future when we have our own house. I'm not keen on outdoor cats though as they kill wildlife and wildlife is struggling already with humans taking over. Rats are lovely pets, I used to have a rat and he was so sweet. He'd follow me round the house, if I lay on the bed he'd climb up and lie next to me. He acted more like a dog 😂.

unCliche · 23/12/2020 19:50

Yeah we used to do that too! We did IIFYM. So we could only have x amount of carbs, fat and protein. My Fitness Pal really helped with that. It was great but the diet was very simplistic and we were eating the same thing day in and day out. I do look on websites but nothing ever catches my fancy. I'm just not a huge foodie and would honestly prefer eating the same thing everyday to avoid thinking about food. What has been your favourite recipe you've found? Maybe I'll give it a go.

I'm the type of person who would learn everything there is to know about something so I can make an informed decision. Plus, there's isn't anyone I trust more than myself, so best believe I will be asking for copies of whatever they recorded off the microscope so I can do my own analysis.

Actually, my fertility is completely out of my hands now. I've deleted all the apps off my phone and given DH complete control. So he'll call all the shots. Every morning, I'll give him my fertility bracelet so he can sync my data onto his phone and enter my temps into FF. Then I'll give him my OPKs before the lines start showing and he'll take the pics and put it in the premom app and update FF. When he feels it's best to DTD, then we DTD. Wish me luck!

Are you trying anything different this cycle?

The house has a garage and two cellars but I'd hate locking them somewhere that's just concrete. Or I could just give them away and get cats instead 🐱 Do you have any pets?

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 23/12/2020 18:46

Haha well I've bought it now so I'll have to give it a go! I have thought about getting an overlocker but I've got too many other things to save for at the moment. Thanks, I hope the next few projects go the same way 😊.

No change to my diet so that's what made me think possibly change in hormones. One can hope!

I don't have a meal plan, I make calorie/fat/protein/carb goals on My Fitness Pal app and then eat foods that keep me within the allowances. So even though nothings off limits, you have to be quite careful with your choice as a slice of cake would probably hit the max of fat and carb goals! When not dieting I find BBC Good food are really handy for recipes, you could have a look there?

😂😂 I think you can trust the fertility specialists if they say his sperm is fine, although it would be quite cool to see them under a microscope! Yes unfortunately this process is very much more a woman's issue, men's bodies are simple so not as much can go wrong 😂.

You planning on doing SMEP again? Will you be doing anything different this cycle?

Ahh yes the chewing... I don't think you can train rabbits not to do that, you'd have to watch them all the time or put them in a room where they can't damage anything! Does your new house have a utility room or a conservatory?

unCliche · 23/12/2020 17:06

Girl, as an experienced seamstress, even I'm against it. It's really tricky and you can't use a straight stitch to join seams. All the hemming I've done the stitches always rip out. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid - That is my advice.

Or buy an overlocker - that's pretty much the easiest way around it. I've never used my overlocker with stretch fabric but I think I'll give it a go... one day... in the far away future.

But the pockets on your dress definitely add a nice touch. I hope you're proud of yourself, I think for one of your first projects, you've done really well. Round of applause

I wish our bodies would just do one thing and stick to it. New symptoms are confusing. Maybe in your case it could be the foods you're eating causing spots. Any changes to your diet?

With your diet, do you have a meal plan that you stick to? I'm really bad at coming up with new things to eat. Cooking for kids is going to be a nightmare for me because I'm so uninspired when it comes to food.

My DH is fine as well. He believes it will happen but because this isn't something that calls into question his womanhood, he has no reason to worry. If he suffered from erectile disfunction then maybe he'd get how I feel. He is happy to take tests but I like being in control so I'm in half a mind to buy a microscope and have a look at his semen myself.

The few times we've brought the rabbits inside, they've been very well behaved and pooped in the right places, but it's the chewing of cables and curtains and furniture that I'm worried about! DH would kill me!

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 23/12/2020 13:26

I think you can be pleased that there was a clear improvement and evidence that your progesterone was higher (sore nipples, high temps). That said, my 4th cycle showed a big improvement but 5th cycle then reverted back! However as you've not taken hormonal contraception it should be easier for your body to get back on track.

My temp was high this morning but I had a few drinks yesterday and alcohol always raises my temp, so I'm gonna ignore that one. Oddly the last couple of days I've been really spotty and most the time I don't get spots. I remember when I first went on the pill my skin broke out in loads of spots, due to the change in hormones. So I wonder if I'm getting spots due to change in hormones again, hopefully this is a good sign!

Yes that's definitely true about the motivation, I used to smoke and my Mum was always moaning at me trying to get me to quit but it wasn't until I actually wanted to quit that I did it. Maybe when you have a little one he'll want to run around and play games with them which may help with the motivation.

I'm an all or nothing person, I either put my all into something or I don't bother, so I think to be successful at losing weight I'll have to track everything again. It's annoying though as it takes so much time and because we eat the same food, DP ends up being put on a diet with me 😂 but he doesn't need to be!

I think DP is fine, he's not too worried about it all but he has accepted that we may need to have IVF. What does your DH think of it all? Is he happy to have some tests? Although I think it's only one test for men! That's lucky you've got a choice of places, hopefully you won't have to wait too long to be seen.

That's really lovely to have your new house to look forward to, the next couple of months will fly by! I don't know if you can house train rabbits, I think if you keep some poo in the place you want them to go, then hopefully they'll associate that area as the toilet but it's not guaranteed!

I added some pockets to my Christmas dress, I think it really finishes the look! Ive bought some stretch material, as a beginner I was advised against it but I've gotta learn at some point! Do you have any tips for using jersey cotton? I know I need to change the needle, will have to refer to the instruction manual for that!

I feel sad. I know 3 months isn't a long time but I just have this unshakable belief that I'll never conceive. My friend got pregnant 3 months after coming off the pill. I've never taken hormonal contraceptives so I thought my cycles might be fine but I'm not so sure anymore. I don't even understand what happened this cycle. Are the vitamins doing their job now? Does the sore nipples and higher temps and longer LP = more progesterone? Who knows!

Lucky you for finishing AF! Time to fish the OPKs out. Where are your temps now?

I don't think the diet is the issue. We both had a workout and meal plan created for us. We weighed our foods, recorded our calories. We stuck to it and lost some weight. I continued working hard but he stopped. I think it's a motivation thing. He needs to want to lose weight - There's not much else I can do. You can lead a horse to a river blah blah blah. Will you be going back to tracking everything you eat?

Ugh who even does that? What a strange and almost selfish thing to do. I don't think people understand how hard some women have it. Lucky for her, her ignorance is bliss. Terrible. I hope you're feeling a little less annoyed now! How is your DP finding everything. I don't know if men ever understand the impact a failed cycle has on us.

Yes, after my first cycle tracking temps and seeing my LP was 9 days, I registered at a fertility clinic. Now we're going to book some fertility tests. £500-something for all the tests for both of us. Yeah, we have a few clinics within the Berkshire area but we're not too far from London either so we'll easily find somewhere. Sucks that your nearest clinic could be overcapacity.

We're aiming for March but any time before then would be perfect! I need to figure out how to house train my rabbits or else DH will banish them to the garden 😭

Oh no, that was a bit of a rollacoaster! Even though it wasn't the outcome you wanted, I hope you feel a bit better now you know. Yeh my af finished today, it's a shame our cycles are now out of sync but we could never have predicted my cycle would be so short and yours would be longer! It will be interesting to see when ovulation happens, our cycles could get closer if I ovulate late and you early.

Haha I can totally relate, I like food and wine too much 😂😂. If you're doing the cooking, you could try bulking out meals with veggies and using tomato bases rather than cream, although Philadelphia light is awesome! Chicken, turkey, fish and prawns are the lowest calorie, highest protein meats, best to have beef, lamb and duck occasionally. Last year I put in a lot of effort to get to a size 8, I recorded absolutely everything I ate (which was a pain) but you learn a lot about what's in food. Now thanks to bloody covid, I'm back where I started!

It's really pot luck, some people get pregnant easily and for others it's so difficult. On Facebook today someone was announcing their pregnancy and commented on how quick it happened 🙄, that really annoyed me. I can understand people are excited and want to share their pregnancy news but don't gloat about how easy it was! Also they have only just found out, as they shared a pic of the pregnancy test so they're taking a risk announcing it to the world that early.

Do you think you'll start tests soon? Do you have a choice of fertility clinics near you? We only have 1 in Devon and they also see NHS patients, so it's probably pretty busy 😕.

Yay that's great news!! Do you have an estimated move in date?

Yeah the spotting stopped before I went to bed last night but I've woken up to a full flow AF so I've definitely, 100%, no doubt about it, started! What a strange cycle. I wonder what happened?? Is your AF finished? I think this cycle we may be out of sync.

28 day cycle and 12 day LP. With spotting on 10dpo and 12dpo. Strange!

He just likes food and wine too much. I'm not sure what to do. I have tried but it's always a short lived effort then the weight goes straight back on. We'll probably go private, whatever we do. I think first steps will be to do tests for both of us. Already sent an email enquiring. There's no point wasting time if his sperm aren't going anywhere or my hormones aren't doing what they're supposed to. I agree about going on a diet, I might join you, well I won't eat different, I'll just get back to weight training.

I did have concerns about never being accidentally pregnant as I was never on birth control but I was also actively trying to avoid my fertile days (which I now know was calculated all wrong) and I think my partners were good at the pull out method. But with how hard it is to get pregnant on purpose, you can't be surprised that getting accidentally pregnant hasn't happened. But it doesn't mean you're infertile. It clearly just takes a lot of luck to get pregnant.

I think it'll show if it's per m or per 0.5m. If you scroll down to the info box and look for quantity, it should say 'per meter' or something.

We got our mortgage offer for the new house, which is amazing. Back to focusing on house stuff now.

Ah okay, what made you think it had started? Did the spotting get heavier but then stop? Oooh I'm excited for you! Good luck!!

You might struggle to get NHS funding with DH in the obese category as the criteria is very strict but there are no restrictions if you self fund. There's plenty of time to change that though, maybe a healthy new year's resolution? I'm definitely going on a diet in the new year 😂.

I think by not getting pregnant in the 7 years I was with previous partners, has led me to believe something is wrong and so I accepted a long time ago that I might need IVF.

Thanks for the suggestion of Minerva crafts, are the prices shown per 0.5m length?

Midnight! Looks like it's actually CD29 as AF didn't actually start 😱 tomorrow, I test!

It'll probably start in my sleep but I'll let you know how I get on anyway. Goodnight!
